Résumé :

Náuseas e vômitos decorrentes de quimioterapia têm um impacto negativo importante em pacientes com câncer, mas isso acabou levando a um considerável avanço em pesquisa neste campo. A grande maioria dos estudos se concentra no tratamento da emese aguda, onde se fez grandes avanços; por outro lado, a fisiopatologia da emese tardia não é tão bem entendida, constituindo-se num desafio terapêutico. A literatura mostra que o tratamento para emese aguda induzida por regimes altamente emetogênicos é a associação de antagonistas do receptor 5-HT3 mais dexametasona. Na emese tardia, metoclopramida e dexametasona é o tratamento de escolha para pacientes com bom controle dos episódios de emese prévio. Para aqueles com mau controle, sugere-se antagonistas do receptor 5-HT3 associados a dexametasona. Na prevenção da emese aguda induzida por quimioterápicos moderadamente emetogênicos, o regime mais efetivo é a combinação dos antagonistas dos receptores 5-HT3 e dexametasona. Na emese tardia, há a necessidade de mais estudos, pois até agora, não existem estudos comparando claramente os diversos tratamentos entre si.

Résumé :

Lectures constitute a basic component of physiology instruction in scientific and healthcare curricula. Technological progress has allowed a switch from face to face to video lectures, yet there is no evidence of video efficacy in physiology. Because videos increase the cognitive load during a learning task, identifying tools that decrease students’ cognitive load during video lectures is critical. Segmenting videos with pauses and inducing joint attention with eye movement modeling examples (EMME) could reduce the cognitive load and improve second-year medical students’ learning in physiology video lectures. Second-year medical students were randomized into four groups [EMME + pauses (EMME + P), EMME without pause`s (EMME-NoP), pauses only (NoEMME + P), and no EMME and no pause (NoEMME-NoP)], took pretest quizzes, watched a renal physiology video lecture, and answered a cognitive load questionnaire and posttest quizzes on the Moodle learning management system. Student prior knowledge was assessed by a pretest, and learning gains were assessed by the difference between posttest and pretest scores. One hundred ninety-five students completed the experiment. Pauses improved learning gains ( P < 0.01) but not EMME ( P = 0.11). Student prior knowledge has several interactions with other variables: low-prior knowledge students obtained better learning gains ( P < 0.001) and high-prior knowledge students had lower learning gains with EMME ( P < 0.05). Our study shows the potential role of tools designed to reduce students’ cognitive load during a renal physiology video lecture and the critical need for empirical validation of pedagogical solutions that are adapted to the specificities of physiology lectures.

As edições do Encontro Maranhense sobre Mulheres e Relações de Gênero no Cotidiano Escolar (EMEMCE) constituíram-se importante veículo difusor das experiências das mulheres em âmbito local, nacional e internacional. O registro desse evento mostra a participação das mulheres na construção da história da educação, em diferentes contextos e épocas. Os estudos de Perrot (2005), Ricoeur (2007) e Molina (2004), entre outros, auxiliam na compreensão acerca das percepções do feminino e da relação com o tempo, concebido como lugar e memória, na perspectiva da construção e reconstrução de trajetória de vida das mulheres (BOURDIEU, 1996). Esse movimento tem sido imprescindível para que as trajetórias das mulheres, especialmente das mulheres professoras, ganhem sentido e espaço na trama da história da educação, uma vez que esse lugar tem sido pouco preenchido por elas, apesar da sua participação majoritária nas instituições de ensino. Assim, esse evento vem cumprindo, paulatinamente, o objetivo de garantir visibilidade às mulheres, e com vistas à intensificação desse propósito, o Simpósio Maranhense de Pesquisadoras (es) sobre Mulher, Relações de Gênero e Educação (SIMPERGEN) agregou-se ao EMEMCE desde a primeira edição, no ano de 2003. Este movimiento fue imprescindible para que las trayectorias de las mujeres, especialmente las de las profesoras, ganen significado y espacio en el tejido de la historia de la educación, ya que este lugar ha sido poco ocupado por ellas, a pesar de su participación mayoritaria en las instituciones educativas. Résumé :

Bu çalışmada tarımsal bir atık olan mısır koçanının alçı esaslı kompozitlerde kullanımı araştırılmıştır. Mısır koçanları 5,6 mm, 4 mm ve 2 mm olmak üzere 3 farklı boyutta öğütülmüştür. Mısır koçanları hacimce %20, %40 ve %60 oranlarında alçı karışımlarına eklenmiştir. 40x40x160 mm örnekler üretilmiş ve üretilen alçı esaslı kompozitlere birim ağırlık, ultrasonik ses geçiş hızı, su emme, kılcal su emme ve görünür porozite testleri uygulanmıştır. 200x160x20 mm boyutunda plaklar üretilerek örneklerin ısıl iletim katsayıları ölçülmüştür. Mekanik özelliklerinin değerlendirilmesi için ise basınç ve eğilme mukavemeti testleri uygulanmıştır. Mısır koçanı içeren örneklerin birim hacim ağırlıkları azalmıştır. Aynı zamanda ultrasonik ses geçiş hızları da düşmüştür. Görünür porozite değerlerin ise artırmıştır. Buna bağlı olarak örneklerin ısıl iletim katsayılarında da bir düşüş gözlenmiştir, su emme ve kılcal su emme değerleri ise yükselmiştir. Eğilme ve basınç dayanımı değerleri ise düşmüştür. Öğütülmüş mısır koçanının incelmesi görünür porozite değerlerini yükseltmiştir. İncelik arttıkça birim hacim ağırlık ve ultrasonik ses geçiş hızı değerleri azalmıştır. Isıl iletim katsayısı, eğilme ve basınç dayanımı da düşmüştür. Su emme ve kılcal su emme değerleri ise yükselmiştir. Üretilen örnekleri mekanik özellikleri bir miktar zayıflasa da daha hafif ve ısıl iletkenlik katsayısı daha düşük ürünlerin elde edilebilmiş olması, ürünün yalıtım amacı ve bölme elemanı olarak değerlendirilebileceği düşüncesini oluşturmaktadır.

Résumé :

Bu çalışmada mikronize cam küreciklerinin alçı esaslı karışımların mühendislik özelliklerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Bu kapsamda mikronize cam kürecikleri alçı yerine ağırlıkça %10, %20 ve %30 oranında kullanılmıştır. 40x40x160 mm boyutunda prizmatik örnekler üretilerek, üretilen örneklerin sertleşmiş birim hacim ağırlık, ultrasonik ses geçiş hızı, su emme, kılcal su emme ve görünen porozite değerleri ölçülmüştür. Aynı zamanda 140x160x20 mm boyutlarına sahip örnekler üretilerek hazırlanan alçı esaslı karışımların ısıl iletim katsayıları ölçülmüştür. Mekanik özellikler kapsamında tek eksenli basınç dayanımı ve üç noktalı eğilme dayanımı testleri uygulanmıştır. Alçı esaslı karışımlarda mikronize cam küreciklerinin kullanımı birim hacim ağırlığı değerlerini yükseltmiştir. Ultrasonik ses geçiş hızı değerleri ise düşmüştür. Görünür porozite değeri de cam küreciklerinin kullanımı ile azalmıştır. Buna bağlı olarak su emme ve kılcal su emme değerlerinde de azalmalar gözlenmiştir. Isıl iletim katsayısı değerleri cam küreciklerin kullanımı ile referans alçı örneğinden daha iyi sonuçlar vermiştir. Cam kürecik kullanımı alçı esaslı karışımların mekanik özelliklerinde de bir miktar düşüşe neden olmuştur. Ancak bu azalmanın çok ciddi düzeylerde olmadığı gözlemlenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar alçı esaslı karışımlarda mikronize cam küreciklerinin değerlendirilmesiyle su emme direnci daha yüksek, kabul edilebilir mekanik özelliklere sahip ve ısı yalıtım özellikleri geliştirilmiş yeni alçı esaslı ürünler üretilebileceğini göstermektedir.

Nei tempi attuali, User Generated Content è la principale fonte di notizie e opinioni in tempo reale sugli avvenimenti mondiali. I Social Media, che servono da ambiente per la creazione e la diffusione di contenuti generati dagli utenti, sono, quindi, rappresentativi della nostra cultura e costituiscono un potenziale tesoro di conoscenza. Pertanto, l'analisi del contenuto diffuso nei social media può portare opportunità senza precedenti a molte aree di ricerca e applicazione. Questa questione è stata esplorata da due diversi punti di vista nella prima fase di questa tesi di dottorato. In particolare, il primo studio esplorativo si è concentrato sulla correlazione tra i risultati delle aziende espresse nei post sui social media e l’andamento dei titoli di tali società in borsa. Nel frattempo, il secondo lavoro esplorativo della prima fase di questa tesi ha analizzato diverse dimensioni e le loro combinazioni di informazioni diffuse sotto un hashtag di social media nel tempo. Le intuizioni e le conclusioni evidenziate da questi primi due studi sui social media sono servite come base per lo sviluppo delle idee principali in questo dottorato. Come fulcro di questa tesi proponiamo un approccio per la modellazione, il monitoraggio e l'analisi dell'evoluzione delle informazioni nel tempo nei social media. In particolare, proponiamo di modellare un flusso di social media come un grafico di testo. Una tecnica di degenerazione del grafo è usata per identificare la sequenza temporale delle unità centrali di flussi di informazioni rappresentati da grafici. Inoltre, come principale novità di questo lavoro, proponiamo una serie di misure per tracciare e valutare quantitativamente e qualitativamente l'evoluzione delle informazioni nel tempo. Una valutazione sperimentale sui set di dati sottoposti a scansione da una delle piattaforme di social media più popolari dimostra la validità e l'applicabilità dell'approccio proposto.
Nowadays, User Generated Content is the main source of real time news and opinions on the world happenings. Social Media, which serves as an environment for the creation and spreading of User Generated Content, is, therefore, representative of our culture and constitutes a potential treasury of knowledge. Thus, analyzing the content spread in Social Media can bring unprecedented opportunities to many areas of research and application. This matter was explored from two different angles in the first phase of this PhD thesis. In particular, the first exploratory study has focused on the correlation between the performance of companies as expressed in Social Media posts and the Stock Market values movements of the same companies. Meanwhile, the second exploratory work of the first phase of this thesis analyzed different dimensions and their combinations of the information spread under a Social Media hashtag in time. The insights and conclusions highlighted by these first two studies on Social Media have served as the basis for the development of the main ideas in this PhD. As the core focus of this thesis we propose an approach for modeling, tracking and analyzing the information evolution over time in Social Media. In particular, we propose to model a Social Media stream as a text graph. A graph degeneracy technique is used to identify the temporal sequence of the core units of information streams represented by graphs. Furthermore, as the major novelty of this work, we propose a set of measures to track and evaluate quantitatively and qualitatively the evolution of information in time. An experimental evaluation on the crawled datasets from one of the most popular Social Media platforms proves the validity and applicability of the proposed approach.

Résumé :

Macroscopic traffic simulations are widely used in the world in order to provide assistance in the traffic infrastructure development as well as for the strategic traﬃc planning. When studying a large traffic network macroscopic traffic simulation can be used to model current and future traffic situations. The two most common software used for traffic simulation in Sweden today are Emme and Visum, developed by INRO respective PTV. The aim of the thesis is to perform a comparison between the software Emme and Visum with respect to the assignment of public transport, in other words how passengers choose their routes on the existing public transport lines. However, in order to make a complete software comparison the run-time, analysis capabilities, multi-modality, capacity to model various behavioural phenomena like crowding, fares etc. this will not be done in this comparison. It is of interest to study the differences between the two software algorithms and why they might occur because the Swedish Transport Administration uses Emme and the Traffic Administration in Stockholm uses Visum when planning public transport. The comparison will include the resulting volumes on transit lines, travel times, ﬂow through speciﬁc nodes, number of boarding, auxiliary volumes and number of transits. The goal of this work is to answer the following objective: What are the differences with modelling a public transport network in Emme and in Visum, based on that the passengers only have information about the travel times and the line frequency, and why does the differences occur? In order to evaluate how the algorithms work in a larger network, Nacka municipality (in Stockholm) and the new metro route between Nacka Forum and Kungsträdgården have been used. The motivation for choosing this area and case is due to that it is interesting to see what differences could occur between the programs when there is a major change in the traffic network. The network of Nacka, and parts of Stockholm City, has been developed from an existing road network of Sweden and then restricted by "cutting out" the area of interest and then removing all public transportation lines outside the selected area. The OD-matrix was also limited and in order not to loose the correct ﬂow of travellers portal zones was used to collect and retain volumes. To ﬁnd out why the differences occur the headway-based algorithms in each software were studied carefully. An example of a small and simple network (consisting of only a start and end node) has been used to demonstrate and show how the algorithms work and why volumes split differently on the existing transit lines in Emme and Visum. The limited network of Nacka shows how the different software may produce different results in a larger public transport network. The results show that there are differences between the program algorithms but the signiﬁcance varies depending on which output is being studied and the size of the network. The Visum algorithm results in more total boardings, i.e. more passengers have an optimal strategy including a transit. The algorithms are very similar in both software programs, since they include more or less parts of the optimal strategy. The parameters used are taken more or less into consideration in Emme and Visum. For example Visum will ﬁrst of all focus on the shortest total travel time and then consider the other lines with respect to the maximum waiting time. Emme however, ﬁrst focuses on the shortest travel time and then considers the total travel time for other lines with half the waiting time instead of the maximum wait time. This results in that less transit lines will be attractive in Emme compared to Visum. The thesis concludes that varying the parameters for public transport in each software algorithm one can obtain similar results, which implies that it is most important to choose the best parameter values and not to choose the "best" software when simulating a traffic network.

COORDENAÇÃO DE APERFEIÇOAMENTO DO PESSOAL DE ENSINO SUPERIOR
A presente dissertação pretende proporcionar ao planejador de transportes parâmetros e informações necessárias para implementar nos pacotes TransCAD e EMME/2 uma alocação de tráfego em equilíbrio, visando o ótimo do usuário (UE). Sendo utilizadas no pacote EMME/2, as funções volume-tempo de viagem: BPR e Cônicas. Além disso, visa mostrar as vantagens e desvantagens do desempenho de cada pacote, baseando-se num estudo de caso na cidade de Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, México.
The purpose of this thesis is to show the necessary information and parameters to the transportation planner, in order to implement and perform the User Equilibrium Traffic Assignment (UE) on following softwares: TransCAD and EMME/2. In the software EMME/2 the travel delay functions BPR and Conic are used. This document also illustrate the vantage and disadvantages of the performance of each software, this based on Ciudad JuáreChihuahua México as a case.
La presente disertación pretende proporcionar al planeador de transportes, parámetros e informaciones necesarias para implementar, en los paquetes TransCAD y EMME/2 una ubicación de tránsito en equilibrio, buscando el óptimo del usuário (UE). Siendo utilizadas en el pacote EMME/2, las funciones volúmen-tiempo de viaje: BPR y Cónicas. Además de eso, se muestran las ventajas y desventajas del desempeño de cada paquete, utlizando un estudio de caso en la cidad de Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, México.

Résumé :

This article presents a novel approach to search in shared audio file storages such as P2P based systems. The proposed method is based on the recognition of specific patterns in the audio contents in such a way extending the searching possibility from the description based model to the content based model. The importance of the real-time pattern recognition algorithms that are used on audio data for content-based searching in streaming media is rapidly growing (Liu, Wang, & Chen, 1998). The main problem of such algorithms is the optimal selection of the reference patterns (soundprints) used in the recognition procedure. The proposed method is based on distance maximization and is able to quickly choose the pattern that later will be used as reference by the pattern recognition algorithms (Richly, Kozma, Kovács, & Hosszú, 2001). The presented method called EMESE (experimental media-stream recognizer) is an important part of a lightweight content-searching method, which is suitable for the investigation of the networkwide shared file storages. The experimental measurement data shown in the article demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed procedure.

Résumé :

Abstract This chapter focuses largely on the biography of the Early Dynastic queen Baranamtara of Lagash, who oversaw a large estate belonging to the House of Women (E-Mi), as attested by hundreds of administrative tablets from its archive. Her husband, king Lugalanda, administered his own estate, but his archive has not been found. Baranamtara conducted her own diplomacy through envoys, exchanged gifts with queens of other lands, offered sacrifices at religious festivals, and traveled around the city-state to appease the gods. Like the kings, Baranamtara was represented by a statue in the temple, and her statue received offerings after her death. Her funeral was attended by hundreds of mourners, and she was provided with lavish gifts for the afterlife. The king of Lagash at the time of her death was Urukagina, whose biography continues the chapter. He presented himself as a reformer, rooting out corruption and caring for orphans and widows. During his reign, the E-Mi palace (supervised by queen Shasha) increased its production of textiles, also increasing the number of textile workers. Three female supervisors of textile workers in the E-Mi—Zum, Igi-bar, and Emete—are the focus of the final biography in this chapter. Administrative texts can be used to follow their careers for a few years, and to compare their wages with those of their male counterparts. Textiles had become an important item of trade in southern Mesopotamia and women were largely responsible for their production.
