Résumé :
OBJECTIVEAlthough numerous arteriovenous malformation (AVM) grading scales consider eloquence in risk assessment, none differentiate the types of eloquence. The purpose of this study was to determine if eloquence subtype affects clinical outcome.METHODSThis is a retrospective review of a prospectively collected clinical database of brain AVMs treated with microsurgery in the period from 1997 to 2017. The only inclusion criterion for this study was the presence of eloquence as defined by the Spetzler-Martin grading scale. Eloquence was preoperatively categorized by radiologists. Poor outcome was defined as a modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score 3–6, and worsening clinical status was defined as an increase in the mRS score at follow-up. Logistic regression analyses were performed.RESULTSTwo hundred forty-one patients (49.4% female; average age 33.9 years) with eloquent brain AVMs were included in this review. Of the AVMs (average size 2.7 cm), 54.4% presented with hemorrhage, 46.2% had deep venous drainage, and 17.0% were diffuse. The most common eloquence type was sensorimotor (46.1%), followed by visual (27.0%) and language (22.0%). Treatments included microsurgery alone (32.8%), microsurgery plus embolization (51.9%), microsurgery plus radiosurgery (7.9%), and all three modalities (7.5%). Motor mapping was used in 9% of sensorimotor AVM cases, and awake speech mapping was used in 13.2% of AVMs with language eloquence. Complications occurred in 24 patients (10%). At the last follow-up (average 24 months), 71.4% of the patients were unchanged or improved and 16.6% had a poor outcome. There was no statistically significant difference in the baseline patient and AVM characteristics among the different subtypes of eloquence. In a multivariate analysis, in comparison to visual eloquence, both sensorimotor (OR 7.4, p = 0.004) and language (OR 6.5, p = 0.015) eloquence were associated with poor outcomes. Additionally, older age (OR 1.31, p = 0.016) and larger AVM size (OR 1.37, p = 0.034) were associated with poor outcomes.CONCLUSIONSUnlike visual eloquence, sensorimotor and language eloquence were associated with worse clinical outcomes after the resection of eloquent AVMs. This nuance in AVM eloquence demands consideration before deciding on microsurgical intervention, especially when numerical grading systems produce a score near the borderline between operative and nonoperative management.

Résumé :
Thomas Hobbes is a severe critic of rhetoric but he is also a careful student and skillful practitioner of the art of persuasion. Many critics have therefore argued that Hobbes's views of rhetoric are both conflicted and inconsistent. In contrast, I argue that Hobbes's conception of rhetoric displays remarkable consistency. While he rejects the abuses of rhetoric abundant in political oratory he nevertheless embraces the power of eloquence. In Leviathan Hobbes reconciles his appreciation of eloquence with his distrust of oratory by refashioning rhetoric into a private, rather than public art, which fulfills many of the traditional duties of rhetoric.

Résumé :
The article tells about one of the types of Kazakh oral literature-oratory. Oratorical art is one of the main genres of Kazakh oral literature, as well as poetic aitys. It is important to learn ancient oratorical words to improve the skills of all professions and the culture of the language in general. After all, folk Wisdom: Proverbs, sayings, sayings, such as words that expand the mind and enrich the language, there are many variants of oratory. The speaker needs strong restraint, calmness, and a pleasant voice that can bring the country to its word. Oratorical words have surnames depending on the place of pronunciation, the content (subject) and the purpose of pronunciation. Each of them has its own characteristic features. In the article, we will focus on five surnames of the oratorical word. They are social and domestic oratorical; religious oratorical, socio-political oratorical; academic oratorical; oratorical in court. In any of the oratorical words, there is a lot of generalizing words, so the stylistic norms in them are also not reflected in the frozen system, but, on the contrary, they are mixed. There are linguistic characteristics that form the basis of each type of oratorical speech. These properties will serve as a basis for a single stylistic coloring system. There is a close relationship between oratorical words.

Résumé :
Abstract This article argues that Nietzsche advanced a rhetorical theory that enacted an attitude of creative destruction by subverting the norms of traditional, yet effective, Greco-Roman rhetoric with a dizzying, distasteful, untimely, unteachable, and impractical mad eloquence. The argument draws particular attention to two aphorisms from The Gay Science. Nietzsche partially described what I call mad eloquence in the obscure aphorism “Two Speakers” (Zwei Redner) and exemplified it with the performance of the madman in the infamous aphorism of the same name (Der tolle Mensch). The first speaker affirmed and then questioned the Greco-Roman rhetorical tradition, but the second blew it up. After establishing how and why Nietzsche confirmed the utility of traditional rhetorical theory, this article demonstrates how he redefined rhetoric as the art of discovering the available means to cultivate confusion and alienate audiences with reconceived parrhēsia, obnoxious delivery and ethos, impropriety, uncommonplaces, logical irrationality, unteachable inimitability, a very delayed persuasive effect, and an insufferable style.

The Holy Quran which was revealed in Arabic language, it’s verses have been explained with help of Ahadith and Aasar as well as Quran itself. The Holy Quran‘s basic understanding is based on comprehension of Arabic language. The eloquence of the Holy Quran is a great miracle. Which has dazzled the people of the language and this understanding is a key to the Holy Quran that is why this title has been designed for research. The Arabs possessed a remarkable memory and were an eloquent people. Their eloquence and memory found expression in their poetry and literature. It is no small wonder that Allah choose the Arabic language for his final dispensation and preservation of his word. The Arabs were impressed by the eloquence of Holy Quran. The eloquence of the Holy Quran dazzled the Arabs poets and it’s litterateur. Verse 90 of Surah An-Nahl is one of the verses therefore astonished the Arabs with its eloquence. This verse is a perfect example of eloquence. its words are short and meanings are wide. After that Walid bin Mughira was convinced and believed that thase are wat words and Usman bin Mazoon said: The eloquence of this verse gave me light of faith, verse 90 of surah an-nahl also guides us to eradicate all social evils and create an ideal society.

Résumé :
The church of Georgia, ever since its foundation in the early 4th century AD, was quite closely related to the Antioch church. These relations were based not only on religious matters but involved both politics and religion. Patriarchs of Antioch, vicars of the Chair of St Peter, the chief apostle, had always aspired to the leadership over all the other chairs in the Eastern Diocese of the Byzantium not only Georgia but Jerusalem as well. At the time of the Joint Monarchy in the 10th 15th centuries, the Georgian hierarchs had to resort to the summits of eloquence and knowledge in order to be able to reject those claims. At the time of disintegration of the Georgian kingdom that entered the crucial stage by the middle of the 15th century, Antioch and its patriarchs had become in demand in Georgia. To them Georgia was one of the most significant sources of income in the conditions of Ottoman supremacy in the Middle East. Patriarch Michael III of Antioch was probably the most famous but by far not the only representative of apostle Peters chair in Georgia. He granted the feudal lords of Georgia what they had so much aspired for a chance to legitimate their centrifugal ambitions. In the conditions of an ongoing conflict with the weakening royal power in Tbilisi getting control of their own ecclesiastical structure virtually insured the former vassals with success in this confrontation. It was thanks to the resourcefulness and activity of Michael III that West Georgian (or Abkhazian) Catholicate gained independence from the Catholicos of All Georgia in Mtskheta in the 15th century, hereby also gaining independence from the Georgian kings in Tbilisi. The rendered text, a composition titled The Instruction in Faith and ascribed to Patriarch Michael, is the first translation from ancient Georgian into Russian and a heretofore unprecedented attempt to analyze it. An extensive glossary was necessary in order to give a general idea of the peculiarities of the canonical system of the Georgian church, i.e. coexistence of two Catholicates as well as reconstruct the historical context. Without it might be quite difficult to draw any relevant conclusions from the present document.

Résumé :
Abstract BACKGROUND Tumor location and eloquence are two crucial factors when deciding on the optimal surgical strategy in glioma management. Consensus is currently lacking on the assessment and definition of eloquent areas. This systematic review aims to evaluate the existing definitions and assessment methods of eloquent areas used in current clinical practice. MATERIAL AND METHODS A computer-aided search of Embase, Medline (OvidSP), and Google Scholar was performed to identify relevant studies. This review includes articles describing preoperative definitions of eloquence in the study’s Methods section. These definitions were compared and categorized by anatomical structure. Additionally, various techniques to preoperatively assess tumor eloquence were extracted, along with their benefits, drawbacks and ease of use. RESULTS This review covers 98 articles including 12,714 participants. Evaluation of these studies indicated considerable variability in defining eloquence. Categorization of these definitions yielded a list of 32 brain regions that were considered eloquent. The most commonly used methods to preoperatively determine tumor eloquence were anatomical classification systems and structural MRI, followed by DTI-FT, functional MRI and nTMS. CONCLUSION None of the definitions or techniques to define eloquence described in the articles are entirely satisfactory as an objective, quantifiable, preoperative factor in glioma treatment and surgical decision-making. Therefore, we propose the development of a new, easily applicable and interpretable anatomical preoperative grading system to assess tumor eloquence. This may aid neurosurgeons in their perioperative decision-making to improve surgical outcomes on an individual patient level and to facilitate the execution and interpretation of multicenter studies.

Résumé :
The article deals with the interaction between Nahw and eloquence in classical and modern standard Arabic. In this regard, the parameters of linguistic variation and diglossia, eloquence - as a system of metaphors, al-mani ul-l-bayn, al-mani ul-l-maani, al-mani ul-l-art, the relationship of Arabic eloquence with the semantics of stylistics, the grammatical meaning of the factor, the concept of "sentence" in Arabic, stylistics, linguistics, semio-syntactic features of figures of speech, linguistic deviations and eloquence, semantic expression forms of syntactic categories and others. applied. The main sources of the research are the language materials of classical and modern Arabic literature. In particular, the works of medieval Arab eloquents, Nahwis, and modern Arabic and Western linguists were widely contacted and used as a source of research. The literal meaning of the word eloquence is "fluent, correct and clear expression". As a term, it is used in two senses. The first meaning is "ability" and the second meaning is "science". In Western languages (in French), the words "éloquence" are used instead of the meaning of "ability", and "rhetorique" is used instead of the meaning of "science". Eloquence as a skill is the use of words fluently, correctly, in place and at the right time. In other words, it is the sufficient and timely expression of the opinion orally or in writing. Before eloquence was studied as a science, it existed as a faculty in the language of poets, writers, and orators, and even in the language of the people.

Résumé :
Abstract The new dialogic, conversational nature of television broadcast news (Hamo, 2009) poses a challenge to traditional commentators, who are forced to move from an authoritative monologue to a confrontational dialogue that requires additional flexibility and conversational skills. The paper focuses on an Israeli case study which presents a confrontational dialogue in which one of the discussants is an experienced military correspondent and commentator. We demonstrate the various resources he uses in order to cope with a complex discursive challenge by using multimodal tools, both verbal and visual (Kress 2010; Kress and Van Leeuwen 2001; Jewitt and Oyama 2001). Besides interrupting his interlocutor’s eloquent discourse in any possible way, demonstrating his well-known direct and involved television persona, the military correspondent employs institutional discursive resources such as using authoritative voice and taking the role of the mediator. Concession structures (Anscombre 1985) reflect his inner moral conflict toward the issue (Livnat 2012).
