Purpose: The study has evaluated the effectiveness of online discussion forums among the students of Abu Dhabi University, UAE. Results: The results have shown strong association between positive learning experience and frequency of student participation in discussion forums. However, no statistical significance (p-value=0.306) has been observed among online forums and age of the participants for developing critical thinking skills. Moreover, a significant difference has been identified in students' participation on the effectiveness of online discussion (p-value=0.000). Conclusion: It is concluded that online discussion forums serve as an efficient and effective tool for interaction among the participants.

Résumé :
The ability of rural entrepreneurs to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic greatly depends on their knowledge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to support online business. In this study, online surveys were conducted to assess the readiness and acceptance of rural entrepreneurs in adopting to the pandemic using the available technologies. Data collected were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics using ANOVA. Online training modules were designed based on their specific needs. Although participants indicated that their frequency and skills of using the electronic devices or applications had generally increased or improved after the training, the increment was not statistically significant (). This indicated that while the participants, to some extent, benefited from the online training provided, there has not been a significant impact on them

Résumé :
The article analyzes the problems of improving the effectiveness of applied sociological research. The scientific method that helps to ensure objectivity and consistency in the study of a social problem is considered. The directions, forms and prospects for the development and improvement of the effectiveness of applied sociology from a practical point of view are given.Intelligence research is the simplest type of applied sociological analysis. It solves problems that are very limited in their content, covers, as a rule, small study populations, and is based on a simplified program and concise methodological tools, which in applied sociology is understood as a package of documents specially developed for each study designed to collect primary sociological information, such as: an interview form, a mass or expert questionnaire, a card for recording the results of observation, studying documents; further: sampling projects, mathematical analysis of primary information, etc.A methodology for evaluating the social effectiveness of applied sociological research applied to any written results of scientific activity is proposed.

Résumé :
OBJECTIVE: To determine whether contemporaneous practices are adequately represented in recent critical care comparative effectiveness research studies. DESIGN: All critical care comparative effectiveness research trials published in the New England Journal of Medicine from April 2019 to March 2020 were identified. To examine studies published in other high impact medical journals during the same period, such trials were subsequently also identified in the Journal of the American Medical Association and The Lancet. All cited sources were reviewed, and the medical literature was searched to find studies describing contemporary practices. Then, the designated control group or the comparable therapies studied were examined to determine if they represented contemporaneous critical care practices as described in the medical literature. RESULTS: Twenty-five of 332 randomised clinical trials published in these three journals during this 1-year period described critical care comparative effectiveness research that met our inclusion criteria. Seventeen characterised current practices before enrolment (using surveys, observational studies and guidelines) and then incorporated current practices into one or more study arm. In the other eight, usual care arms appeared insufficient. Four of these trials randomly assigned patients to one of two fixed approaches at either end of a range of usually titrated care. However, due to randomisation, different subgroups within each arm received care that was inappropriate for their specific clinical conditions. In the other four of these trials, common practices influencing treatment choice were not reflected in the trial design, despite a prior effort to characterise usual care. CONCLUSION: One-third of critical care comparative effectiveness research trials published in widely read medical journals during a recent year did not include a designated control arm or comparable therapies representative of contemporary practices. Failure to incorporate contemporary practices into critical care comparative effectiveness trials appears to be a widespread design weakness.

Résumé :
A Collaborative Interaction Management System (CIMS) is a system that potentially provide some assistance to the teachers in managing the student's collaborative interaction in forum discussions. The projected main function of the CIMS is to provide tools that automatically gauge the quality of interaction as reflected in student's individual contributions so as to make it easier for the instructor to make judgments on the effectiveness of the collaborative process. This study aims to assess how effective and usable is the developed CIMS based on the evaluation of faculty and students. The descriptive research design is utilized in this study. The five-point Likert scale is used and the gathered data are statistically interpreted through the utilisation of a weighted mean. The sample population of this study is the one hundred twenty participants coming from the different universities in the area where the survey was conducted. The researcher adopted a survey instrument made by some software specialists. The bases of the instrument are some of the characteristics listed on the software quality model of ISO 9126. These are the functionality, usability and the reliability. Each of these software characteristics is described by some indicators to obtain the responses of the participants. The overall evaluation of the participants displayed the weighted mean of 4.0, thus it can be concluded that the functionality, usability and reliability of the software is very good.

Résumé :
School administrators consisting of Principals and Headmasters (PGB) play a significant role in leading the school to achieve excellence. To ensure that excellence is achieved within the timeframe stipulated, the PGB received guidance from fellow coaches known as School Improvement Partners (SIP). The coaching process requires mutual understanding between the two parties so that it can work smoothly and effectively (Narimawati, 2007) without any conflict of ideologies. This study is to identify the effectiveness of the coaching of SIP through the good relations and professional skills practiced during the ongoing coaching. A total of 212 PGB as respondents and data were analyzed using SPSS version 23 for the descriptive analysis, while AMOS version 22 is used for advanced statistics Structural Equation Modeling. The study found that the goodness of fit model by SIP coaching is good with reading of chi-square/df=2.203, CFI= .969, p=0.00 and RMSEA=.076. Good relationship with professional coaching sessions have contributed a total of 71% (R2=.71) to the effectiveness of the coaching as well as it helps to increase the PGB confidence in the development of schools. This finding confirms that coaching by SIP directly acts as a catalyst for the success of the school and to complete the needs of mission and vision of the Ministry of Education, Malaysia.

Résumé :
This study wants to analyze the extent to which the role of hypnoteaching is offered by the world to academics in the education fild to overcome the problem of learning disorder students. The reseach methode used is the reseach library. Based on the reseach it was concluded that hypnoteaching is the most accurate and relevant solution to create the effectiveness of learning disorder learning students, although sometimes only through simple strategies. By hypnoteaching, learning disorder students will feel more likely to be present and not cornered even though their essence is not the same as other normal humans. The implication og this study is that the theories that are conceptualized in hypnoteaching succeed in reducing students’ learning disorder anxiety while participating in learning activities.

Résumé :
Comparative effectiveness research can help guide the use of common, routine medical practices. However, to be safe and informative, such trials must include at least one treatment arm that accurately portrays current practices. While comparative effectiveness research is widely perceived as safe and to involve no or only minimal risks, these assumptions may not hold true if unrecognised deviations from usual care exist in one or more study arms. For critically ill subjects in particular, such practice deviations may increase the risk of death or injury and undermine safety monitoring. Furthermore, unrecognised unusual care seems likely to corrupt informed consent documents, with underappreciated risks shrouded under the reassuring "comparative effectiveness" research label. At present, oversight measures are inadequate to ensure that research subjects enrolled in comparative effectiveness trials are actually receiving usual and not unusual care. Oversight by governmental and non-governmental entities with appropriate expertise, empowered to ensure that current clinical practice has been properly represented, could help prevent occurrences in clinical trials of unusual care masquerading as usual care.
