Chammas, Antoine. « Drift detection and characterization for supervision, diagnosis and prognosis of dynamical systems ». Thesis, Lille 1, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014LIL10064/document.
Texte intégralThe work presented in this thesis deal with the integration of diagnosis and prognosis for optimizing maintenance of complex systems. The particular kind of faults taken into consideration in this work is process drifts. A generic architecture for supervision, diagnosis and prognosis based on handling drifts is developed. The supervision/diagnosis can determine line components that need to be repaired, when fault occurs. It is based on handling the drift by considering indicators for detection and characterization. Then, the prognosis can anticipate system failures by providing information on future states of the components on which preventive maintenance actions may be considered. The developed methodology is based on treating data collected on a system, dropping the need for a mathematical description of the system. Using historically saved data and online generated data, a decision space is constructed, in which different classes corresponding to normal and failure operating modes exist. An incipient fault will cause a drift in the decision space, and consequently a change in the parameters of the classes. Thus, the decision space needs to be dynamically updated in order to treat those drifts. Then, indicators for drift detection and characterization, based on the parameter changes, are calculated. The aim of drift detection it is to detect, as soon as possible, the occurrence of a drift. Drift characterization deals with finding the failure mode causing the drift, and with calculating an indicator that reflects the health state. Prognosis models the evolution of the actual health system indicator, and estimates a RUL (Remaining Useful Life) as well as a confidence interval associated to it. All these aspects are combined together to form the generic architecture for supervision, diagnosis and prognosis

Texte intégralINTRODUCTION: In the years that followed the 1994 Back to Sleep Campaign (BSC), a public health initiative designed to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), the prevalence of SIDS decreased by nearly 50%. However, recent research questions the decline in SIDS with an appreciation of contemporaneous factors which may have contributed to it. There is a growing recognition that other, often indiscernible causes of Sudden Unexpected Infant Deaths (SUID) have increased prevalence rates. Several researchers have addressed the possibility of the effects of a diagnostic drift. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the impact of certain contemporaneous factors on the decline in the prevalence of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. METHODS: We examined a historically significant time period surrounding the implementation of the BSC, 1984-2009. It is a time-period that incorporates mortality statistics prior to the BSC, as well as immediately following. We utilized 1984-2009 mortality data obtained from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and evaluated the following prevalence rates: SIDS, unknown and unspecified causes, Accidental Strangulation and Suffocation in Bed (ASSB), and Neglect. We then amalgamated unknown and unspecified causes, ASSB and Neglect into a single representation of non-SIDS SUID. We then proceeded to perform an analysis on these prevalence rates to determine linear trends. RESULTS: All-cause mortality rate decreased linearly by about .929 per 100,000 per year (p<.0001, β=-.929). SIDS mortality rates also experienced a significant decline of about .951 per 100,000 deaths per year (p<.0001, β=-.951). In contrast, the SUID cohort prevalence increased significantly with a rate of .930 per 100,000 per year (p<.0001, β=.930). DISCUSSION: Over our study period, SIDS declined significantly, but by 2001 it experienced a stagnant decline that was different than that from 1984-2000. From 2001 to 2009, our SUID cohort increased dramatically. It is our conclusion that the potential exists for a possible diagnostic drift from SIDS to these other SUID.

Texte intégralThis thesis is set in the context of predictive maintenance for heterogeneous production processes, targeting three scientific issues: drift detection without the need for labeled data, drift diagnosis using hybrid methods, and the integration of these activities into an adaptable methodological approach. The first contribution proposes, via a decision logigram, a guided method for selecting the machine learning algorithms best suited to the data via the calculation of indicators. The second contribution presents a hybrid diagnosis, combining binary classifiers and decision trees enriched with expert knowledge, to identify the root causes of drift. Finally, the third contribution develops an integrated methodological approach to process drift detection and diagnosis, incorporating continuous learning steps to enable adaptation to process evolutions. Validated on an industrial process at SEW USOCOME, this approach shows promising results and confirms the relevance of the contributions

Texte intégralWhat do satellites thrusters, ions sources, and fusion devices have in common? They all have plasmas with orthogonal electric and magnetic fields and their size, complexity and accessibility often make them hard to be directly studied. Simpler devices, like the linear magnetised plasma device Mistral used during this work, are conceived in order to understand, predict, and eventually control, some of their fundamental mechanisms. To this purpose, a tomography diagnostic is developed. Tomography is a well known diagnostic in tokamaks and stellarators, but remains seldom used in low temperature plasma studies. Its main advantages are to give access to the temporal evolution of a two-dimensional section of the plasma emissivity, and to be non-intrusive. In the frame of this thesis, a tomography diagnostic has been designed from scratch, implemented, calibrated and tested. The first step consists in the adaptation of existing tomography models in this context, and the full development and validation of the associated numerical code. Then, a proof of concept is conducted with a mono-sensor diagnostic using conditional sampling on coherent rotating modes. Following, the development, configuration, and application of the full 128 channels emission tomography diagnostics on Mistral are reported. New insights to characterise coherent rotating modes, such as the evolution of their shape and the behaviour of the core plasma, are given. Additionally, a parametric study of the rotating modes revealed the complex and intricated effect of control parameters on the modes (existence, frequency, and mode number), and the care that has to be put in monitoring many experimental parameters
Renaud, Denis. « Caractérisation du propulseur PEGASES : diagnostics du filtre magnétique et du faisceau : optimisation de la géométrie ». Thesis, Orléans, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016ORLE2018/document.
Texte intégralThe PEGASES ion thruster differs from standard electric propulsion technologies through its use of electronegative gases, such as SF₆, as a propellant. Its operation relies on the trapping of electrons using a magnetic field and the creation of a plasma dominated by positive and negative ions. These ions are alternately accelerated to produce thrust, and later undergo a recombination to ensure beam neutrality. This thruster eliminates the need for an electron-producing neutralizer, which is a standard feature in other sources such as the Hall thruster. This thesis is divided into three parts. The first describes the development and implementation of a new EXB probe for the study of the ion beam properties, the identification of the beam chemical composition and the verification of the presence of negative and positive ion species. The second part concerns the design and application of a new laser photodetachment diagnostic for the measurement of the negative ion fraction. Lastly, a new ion-ion thruster with a circular geometry, known as AIPE, has been designed, constructed and successfully tested. This prototype eliminates the plasma asymmetry present in PEGASES and reveals the importance of the magnetic filter to source operation

Texte intégralThis thesis focuses on the creation of an expert system for automatic alignment of chromatographic signals in response to a problem of drifts and shifts of signals encountered in the inter-comparison of data in evolving environment. After a state of the art of the different alignment methods that exist in the literature, the performances of freely available methods were tested on sets of simulated and real chromatographic data. At the end of this methodical work, it turned out that none of the methods did not provide fully satisfactory in terms of performance defined in the specification. Thus, an optimization of the best alignment method has been developed so that it can be attached to a software acquisition and processing of chromatographic data. The last part of this thesis deals with a complementary problem, the conformity of the samples in terms of quality control. The similarity of the peaks is evaluated according to criteria developed and validated by manual operation data
