Résumé :
Abstract Here in, we report the synthesis and characterization of Chromium doped Zinc Sulfide nanoparticles (ZnS NPs). Initially, ZnS NPs are synthesized by bio-compatible glycine cap using simple one-pot co-precipitate method, and further it is doped by Chromium. The structure and morphology of these ZnS NPs was confirmed by X-Ray Diffractometry (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope with Elementary Dispersive Spectrum (SEM with EDS) techniques. The optical characterization techniques reveal that the Chromium doping affected the absorption and photoluminescence properties of the NPs. Photoluminescence of these NPs shifts from 384 nm to 428 nm upon Chromium doping. By using Tauc plot we obtained the energy band gap of 4.7 eV and it reduces to 3.9 eV for Chromium dope. The resultant ZnS NPs have size of 2.17nm and 1.86nm (with Chromium doping), also it gives Cubic Zinc blend phase as proved by XRD. The instrumentation techniques SEM with EDS, XRD, FTIR confirms that high purity Chromium doped ZnS NPs can be obtained by the proposed simple, low cost and highly effective method.

Résumé :
In this study, the enhanced photocatalytic activities of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) filaments deposited with N-doped Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles sensitized with water insoluble disperse blue SE–2R dye were investigated. The PET filaments were loaded with two types of N-doped TiO2 nanoparticles, one with and the other without being sensitized with disperse blue SE–2R dye, in one-pot hydrothermal process respectively. The differences in photocatalytic activities between the N-doped TiO2 and the dye-sensitized N-doped TiO2 nanoparticles when exposed to both UV rays and visible lights were analyzed and compared by using their photodegradations of methylene blue (MB) dye. It was demonstrated that the disperse blue dye facilitated the electron–hole separation in N-doped TiO2 nanoparticles faster under UV irradiation than that under visible light irradiation. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of the PET filaments loaded with dye-sensitized N-doped TiO2 nanoparticles exposure to UV irradiation, in comparison with that under visible light irradiation, was attributed to both improved light absorption capacity and high separation efficiency of photo-generated electron–hole pairs. Furthermore, the conduction band and band gap of the PET filaments deposited with N-doped TiO2 nanoparticles sensitized with disperse blue SE–2R dye were influenced by the wavelength of light sources, while its valence band was not affected. The PET filaments deposited with dye-sensitized N-doped TiO2 nanoparticles have a potential application to degrade organic pollutants.

Résumé :
A one pot oxidative polymerization technique is used to synthesize copolymer Poly [(thiophene-2, 5-diyl)-copara methoxy benzylidene]. In this technique we used catalyst POCl3 and 1, 4 dioxane solvent for copolymerization of para methoxy benzaldehyde with thiophene. One pot method takes around 24 hours. Doped copolymer was synthesized in presence of 0.2gm cobalt acetate. Catalyst is removed using ammonia. Products are obtained using menthol. UV–Vis, FTIR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, XRD, FE-SEM, EDX, BET and TGA are used to analyze physical properties of undoped and doped copolymers. The polycrystalline phase is confirmed using structural analysis. Interconnected nonoporous structure is indicated by surface morphology. The nano crystalline sizes of undoped and doped forms are 44 nm and 55 nm respectively. The surface area changed due to cobalt doping of copolymer from 3000 to 47900cm2/g. Both copolymers are thermally stable up to 280oC confirmed by thermogravimetric analysis. Optical absorption studies proved that band gap changed from 2.93 to 2.83 eV after doping and two-probe method was used to calculate conductivity values as 1.34 x 10-9to 7.54 x 10-8 S/cm for undoped and doped copolymers. Both undoped and doped copolymers have several uses like semiconducting material and energy storage in the field of conducting polymers.

Résumé :
N-enriched porous carbons have played an important part in CO2 adsorption application thanks to their abundant porosity, high stability and tailorable surface properties while still suffering from a non-efficient and high-cost synthesis method. Herein, a series of N-doped porous carbons were prepared by a facile one-pot KOH activating strategy from commercial urea formaldehyde resin (UF). The textural properties and nitrogen content of the N-doped carbons were carefully controlled by the activating temperature and KOH/UF mass ratios. As-prepared N-doped carbons show 3D block-shaped morphology, the BET surface area of up to 980 m2/g together with a pore volume of 0.52 cm3/g and N content of 23.51 wt%. The optimal adsorbent (UFK-600-0.2) presents a high CO2 uptake capacity of 4.03 mmol/g at 0 °C and 1 bar. Moreover, as-prepared N-doped carbon adsorbents show moderate isosteric heat of adsorption (43–53 kJ/mol), acceptable ideal adsorption solution theory (IAST) selectivity of 35 and outstanding recycling performance. It has been pointed out that while the CO2 uptake was mostly dependent on the textural feature, the N content of carbon also plays a critical role to define the CO2 adsorption performance. The present study delivers favorable N-doped carbon for CO2 uptake and provides a promising strategy for the design and synthesis of the carbon adsorbents.

Résumé :
Impurity element doping is extensively taken as one of the most efficient strategies to regulate the electronic structure as well as the rate of photogenerated charge separation of photocatalysts. Herein, a one-pot hydrothermal synthesis process was exploited to obtain La-doped ZnIn2S4 microspheres, aiming at gaining insight into the role that doping ions played in the improvement of pollutant photodegradation. Systematical characterization means, comprising of X–ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) diffuse reflection spectroscopy and Raman spectra, combination with high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), were employed to in depth reveal the concomitancy of La ions and ZnIn2S4 crystal lattice. The results showed that the La-doped ZnIn2S4 samples exhibited a slightly wider and stronger spectral absorption than pristine ZnIn2S4; and the specific surface area of doped ZnIn2S4 samples was a bit larger. The La-doped ZnIn2S4 electrodes showed improved photocurrent response, and the photocurrent density reached a maximum value at La content of 1.5 wt%. As expected, La-doped ZnIn2S4 samples exhibited a remarkable enhancement of photocatalytic behaviour toward the photodegradation of tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH) and methyl orange (MO). The prominently enhanced photoactivity of doped ZnIn2S4 samples was due to the synergistic effect of the elevated visible-light absorption ability and effective photogenerated charge carriers’ separation.

Résumé :
A novel, economic and environmentally friendly anticorrosion coating material for metals is introduced and investigated in this paper. For this purpose, camphor-sulfonic-acid/graphene-doped poly(o-toluidine) composites (MG/CSA@POT) were fabricated using in-situ polymerization with (NH4)2S2O8 as an oxidant. The structure and the morphology of MG/CSA@POT were analyzed using FTIR (Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy), XRD (X-ray diffraction), and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope). Multilayer graphene (MG)/CSA@POT-polyurethane composite coatings (MG/CSA@POT-WPU) were prepared on the surface of a carbon steel substrate by mixing MG/CSA@POT with waterborne polyurethane via blending. The corrosion performance of the MG/CSA@POT-WPU composite coatings in a 3.5% NaCl solution was studied with a corrosion electrochemical method. The results showed that 5-MG/CSA@POT-WPU had the best shielding effect on corrosive media and the lowest corrosion rate (1.02 × 10−6 mm/year) compared to other coatings while its inhibition efficiency reached 99.96%.
