Résumé :
The monograph examines the diversity and convergent similarity of adaptations to typical habitat conditions of the main representatives of social insects: termites, ants, paper wasps, bumblebees and bees. Trophic connections, methods of nest construction and protection, intra- and interspecific relations, forms of manifestation and origin of social relations are considered. The species-specific mechanisms of spatial orientation and communication, the role of programmed and modifiable behavior in the life of families of social insects are analyzed. The phylogenetic ways in which the transformation of families of eusocial insects into integral biological units, individually subject to the action of natural selection — the main driving factor of evolution - took place are discussed. For students, postgraduates and teachers of biological universities and faculties, as well as a wide range of readers interested in the issues of evolution.

Résumé :
This chapter examines the conceptual diversity of expressions of resurrection in a variety of early Jewish writings (Daniel, 1 Enoch, 2 Maccabees, 4 Ezra, 2 Baruch, Messianic Apocalypse, Pseudo-Ezekiel). Two categories, in particular, appear to have offered broad fluctuation. First, differing modes of embodiment may be identified within the evidence, including beliefs about the fate of the deceased body, as well as varied assumptions about what the newly embodied eschatological life would be like. Second, representations of resurrection also differ in how they locate human destiny within the larger spatial parameters of the cosmos. This diversity has sometimes been interpreted as a deficiency within early Jewish theologies, yet the present chapter explains this as the result of the adaptability of resurrection to a variety of intellectual contexts, a factor that accelerated the reception of resurrection as a widespread eschatological belief, even among competing groups.

Résumé :
This chapter analyzes the street dance crew performances of Diversity and Flawless within the 2009 final of the televised talent show competition, Britain’s Got Talent, with the aim of providing the reader with the analytical tools required for discussing male street dance crew performances on the U.K. popular screen. Through an interdisciplinary approach, this chapter examines the importance of the connection between the street dance performances and the remote voting audience, through an influx of dynamic corporeal images and intertextual references to popular culture. Alongside the historical contextualization of these performances, this chapter also considers the use of hip-hop dance vocabulary, the relationship between soundtrack and dance, the construction of a black masculine identity, and the importance of competition and commercialization within the spectacularized context of the television show.

Résumé :
cBrain tumors constitute an array of histologic types, the most common being meningioma and glioma. Unlike other cancers, both benign and malignant brain tumors are concerning for survival because of their anatomic location. Two-thirds of brain tumors are benign. The most well established risk factor is high dose ionizing radiation, based on studies of atomic bomb survivors as well as children treated for tinea capitis. In contrast, nonionizing radiation including from cellular telephones, is not a risk factor. Tobacco use does not appear to be associated with glioma or meningioma. There is fairly consistent evidence of an inverse association between allergies and asthma with risk of glioma, potentially through levels of IgE. Finally, occupational epidemiology studies suggest potential positive associations with specific exposures. The identification of modifiable risk factors for brain tumors has been challenging, due in part to the diversity of tumor subtypes.

Résumé :
This chapter synthesizes literature on multidisciplinary and multicultural creative teams. We examine the main similarities and differences between cultural and disciplinary diversity; summarize the primary, relevant theories; describe the extant literature on the relationship between team diversity and creativity, information sharing, conflict, and other factors; and point out gaps in the literature and potential future work. Diversity can benefit creativity if the underlying breadth of perspectives is harnessed, but the relationship between diversity and creativity is a complex and heavily moderated one. This chapter integrates recent advances, such as multilevel theory, the importance of shared mental models, and different aspects of creativity. In addition, this chapter highlights the importance of faultlines, or when multiple types of diversity align within the same team. Future research should take a broader systems perspective, examining factors such as type and degree of diversity, context of the team, and time/group development, among other variables.
