Résumé :
We present the impact of two-loop corrections on the mass of the lightest Higgs boson in the minimalR-symmetric supersymmetric standard model (MRSSM). These shift the Higgs boson mass up by typically 5 GeV or more. The dominant corrections arise from strong interactions, and from the gluon and itsN=2superpartners, the sgluon and Dirac gluino, and these corrections further increase with large Dirac gluino mass. The two-loop contributions governed purely by Yukawa couplings and the MRSSMλ,Λparameters are smaller. We also update our earlier analysis which showed that the MRSSM can accommodate the measured Higgs andWboson masses. Including the two-loop corrections increases the parameter space where the theory prediction agrees with the measurement.

Résumé :
For the D-branes on the SL (2,R) WZW model we present a particular choice of outer automorphism for the gluing condition of currents that leads to a special AdS2 brane configuration. This configuration is shown to be a static solution in the cylindrical coordinates, and a nonstatic solution in the Poincaré coordinates to the nonlinear equation of motion for the Dirac–Born–Infeld action of a D-string. The generalization of it gives a family of nonstatic AdS2 brane solutions. They are demonstrated to transform to each other under the isometry group of AdS3 space–time.

Résumé :
In this paper we propose a new method for studying differential operators with discontinuous coefficients. We consider a sequence of sixth-order differential operators with piecewise-smooth coefficients. The limit of the sequence of these operators’ potentials is the Dirac delta function. The boundary conditions are separated. To correctly determine solutions of differential equations with discontinuous coefficients at the points of discontinuity, “gluing” conditions are required. Asymptotic solutions were written out for large values of the spectral parameter, with the help of them the “gluing” conditions were studied and the boundary conditions were investigated. As a result, we derive an eigenvalues equation for the operator under study, which is an entire function. The indicator diagram of the eigenvalues equation, which is a regular hexagon, is investigated. In various sectors of the indicator diagram, the method of successive approximations has been used to find the eigenvalues asymptotics of the studied differential operators. The limit of the asymptotic of the spectrum determines the spectrum of the sixth-order operator, whose potential is the delta function.

Résumé :
AbstractTwo related searches for phenomena beyond the standard model (BSM) are performed using events with hadronic jets and significant transverse momentum imbalance. The results are based on a sample of proton–proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of $$13\,\text {Te}\text {V} $$13Te, collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2016–2018 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137$$\,\text {fb}^{-1}$$fb-1. The first search is inclusive, based on signal regions defined by the hadronic energy in the event, the jet multiplicity, the number of jets identified as originating from bottom quarks, and the value of the kinematic variable $$M_{\mathrm {T2}}$$MT2 for events with at least two jets. For events with exactly one jet, the transverse momentum of the jet is used instead. The second search looks in addition for disappearing tracks produced by BSM long-lived charged particles that decay within the volume of the tracking detector. No excess event yield is observed above the predicted standard model background. This is used to constrain a range of BSM models that predict the following: the pair production of gluinos and squarks in the context of supersymmetry models conserving R-parity, with or without intermediate long-lived charginos produced in the decay chain; the resonant production of a colored scalar state decaying to a massive Dirac fermion and a quark; or the pair production of scalar and vector leptoquarks each decaying to a neutrino and a top, bottom, or light-flavor quark. In most of the cases, the results obtained are the most stringent constraints to date.

Résumé :
AbstractFor a compact spin$$^{c}$$ c manifold X with boundary $$b_1(\partial X)=0$$ b 1 ( ∂ X ) = 0 , we consider moduli spaces of solutions to the Seiberg–Witten equations in a generalized double Coulomb slice in $$W^{1,2}$$ W 1 , 2 Sobolev regularity. We prove they are Hilbert manifolds, prove denseness and “semi-infinite-dimensionality” properties of the restriction to $$\partial X$$ ∂ X , and establish a gluing theorem. To achieve these, we prove a general regularity theorem and a strong unique continuation principle for Dirac operators, and smoothness of a restriction map to configurations of higher regularity on the interior, all of which are of independent interest.

Résumé :
Abstract An additional generation of quarks and leptons and their SUSY counterparts, which are vector-like under the Standard Model gauge group but are chiral with respect to the new U(1)3−4 gauge symmetry, are added to the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We show that this model is a GUT and unifies the three SM gauge couplings and also the additional U(1)3−4 coupling at a GUT scale of ≈ 5 × 1016 GeV and explains the experimentally observed deviation of the muon g – 2. We also fit the quark flavor changing processes consistent with the latest experimental data and look at the effect of the new particles on the W boson mass without obviously conflicting with the observed masses of particles, CKM matrix elements, neutrino mixing angles, their mass differences, and the lepton-flavor violating bounds. This model predicts sparticle masses less than 25 TeV, with a gluino mass ≈ 2.3 – 3 TeV consistent with constraints, and one of the neutralinos as the LSP with a mass of ≈ 480 – 580 GeV, which is a potential dark matter candidate. The model is string theory motivated and predicts the VL quarks, leptons, a massive Z′ and two Dirac neutrinos at the TeV scale and the branching ratios of μ ⟶ eγ, τ ⟶ μγ and τ ⟶ 3μ with BR(μ ⟶ eγ) within reach of future experiments.

Résumé :
Abstract In the classic Coleman-Mandula no-go theorem which prohibits the unification of internal and spacetime symmetries, the assumption of the existence of a positive definite invariant scalar product on the Lie algebra of the internal group is essential. If one instead allows the scalar product to be positive semi-definite, this opens new possibilities for unification of gauge and spacetime symmetries. It follows from theorems on the structure of Lie algebras, that in the case of unified symmetries, the degenerate directions of the positive semi-definite invariant scalar product have to correspond to local symmetries with nilpotent generators. In this paper we construct a workable minimal toy model making use of this mechanism: it admits unified local symmetries having a compact (U(1)) component, a Lorentz (SL(2, ℂ)) component, and a nilpotent component gluing these together. The construction is such that the full unified symmetry group acts locally and faithfully on the matter field sector, whereas the gauge fields which would correspond to the nilpotent generators can be transformed out from the theory, leaving gauge fields only with compact charges. It is shown that already the ordinary Dirac equation admits an extremely simple prototype example for the above gauge field elimination mechanism: it has a local symmetry with corresponding eliminable gauge field, related to the dilatation group. The outlined symmetry unification mechanism can be used to by-pass the Coleman-Mandula and related no-go theorems in a way that is fundamentally different from supersymmetry. In particular, the mechanism avoids invocation of super-coordinates or extra dimensions for the underlying spacetime manifold.
