Résumé :
We propose the receding horizonH∞control (RHHC) for input-delayed systems. A new cost function for a finite horizon dynamic game problem is first introduced, which includes two terminal weighting terms parameterized by a positive definite matrix, called a terminal weighing matrix. Secondly, the RHHC is obtained from the solution to the finite dynamic game problem. Thirdly, we propose an LMI condition under which the saddle point value satisfies the nonincreasing monotonicity. Finally, we show the asymptotic stability andH∞boundedness of the closed-loop system controlled by the proposed RHHC. The proposed RHHC has a guaranteedH∞performance bound for nonzero external disturbances and the quadratic cost can be improved by adjusting the prediction horizon length for nonzero initial condition and zero disturbance, which is not the case for existing memoryless state-feedback controllers. It is shown through a numerical example that the proposed RHHC is stabilizing and satisfies the infinite horizonH∞performance bound. Furthermore, the performance in terms of the quadratic cost is shown to be improved by adjusting the prediction horizon length when there exists no external disturbance with nonzero initial condition.

Résumé :
Background In the era of artificial intelligence, event prediction models are abundant. However, considering the limitation of the electronic medical record–based model, including the temporally skewed prediction and the record itself, these models could be delayed or could yield errors. Objective In this study, we aim to develop multiple event prediction models in intensive care units to overcome their temporal skewness and evaluate their robustness against delayed and erroneous input. Methods A total of 21,738 patients were included in the development cohort. Three events—death, sepsis, and acute kidney injury—were predicted. To overcome the temporal skewness, we developed three models for each event, which predicted the events in advance of three prespecified timepoints. Additionally, to evaluate the robustness against input error and delays, we added simulated errors and delayed input and calculated changes in the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) values. Results Most of the AUROC and area under the precision-recall curve values of each model were higher than those of the conventional scores, as well as other machine learning models previously used. In the error input experiment, except for our proposed model, an increase in the noise added to the model lowered the resulting AUROC value. However, the delayed input did not show the performance decreased in this experiment. Conclusions For a prediction model that was applicable in the real world, we considered not only performance but also temporal skewness, delayed input, and input error.

Résumé :
This paper addresses the sampled and unknown time-varying delayed output problem of the continuous-time linear system with unknown input disturbance and measurement noise. Based on the piecewise continuous hybrid system and extended functional observer, a robust hybrid extended observer is proposed to estimate the non-delayed continuous state from the sampled and delayed measurements when the time delay is unknown time-varying. The advantages of the designed observer are the quite simple structure, robustness to dealing with measurement noise, and ability to estimate the system state with accuracy under the influence of unknown input disturbance. Furthermore, the proposed observer is able to estimate the non-delayed continuous state and unknown input disturbance, in particular for the issue of fault estimation and perturbation disturbance simultaneously. The stability of the robust hybrid extended observer is illustrated and analyzed. Moreover, to show the effectiveness of the proposed observer, a comparison with the delayed Luenberger observer is performed via a numerical example. Finally, the simulation results are demonstrated.

<p>This paper considers the input-to-state stability (ISS) of delayed systems with bounded-delay impulses, where the delays in impulses are arbitrarily large but bounded. A novel Halanay-type inequality with delayed impulses and external inputs is proposed to deeply evaluate the effects of delayed impulses on ISS of delayed systems. Then, we obtain some delay-independent ISS criteria for the addressed delayed systems by using Lyapunov method. Résumé :
Reservoir computing is a machine learning method that solves tasks using the response of a dynamical system to a certain input. As the training scheme only involves optimising the weights of the responses of the dynamical system, this method is particularly suited for hardware implementation. Furthermore, the inherent memory of dynamical systems which are suitable for use as reservoirs mean that this method has the potential to perform well on time series prediction tasks, as well as other tasks with time dependence. However, reservoir computing still requires extensive task-dependent parameter optimisation in order to achieve good performance. We demonstrate that by including a time-delayed version of the input for various time series prediction tasks, good performance can be achieved with an unoptimised reservoir. Furthermore, we show that by including the appropriate time-delayed input, one unaltered reservoir can perform well on six different time series prediction tasks at a very low computational expense. Our approach is of particular relevance to hardware implemented reservoirs, as one does not necessarily have access to pertinent optimisation parameters in physical systems but the inclusion of an additional input is generally possible.

Résumé :
In this article a suboptimal linear-state feedback controller for multi-delay quadratic system is investigated. Optimal state and input coefficients resulting from the expansion over a hybrid basis of block pulse and Legendre polynomials are first obtained by formulating a nonlinear programming problem. Afterwards, suboptimal control gains are found by solving a least square problem constructed with optimal coefficients of the open loop study. A sufficient condition for the exponential stability of the closed loop is obtained from generalized Grönwall–Bellman lemma. The Van de Vusse chemical reactor case is handled allowing to validate the proposed technique.

Résumé :
Strategic emerging industries are gradually becoming the main driving force promoting the development of the national economy. As one of the strategic emerging industries, the New Generation of Information Technology Companies (NGITCs) play a crucial role in accelerating the integration of information and industrialization and in promoting the information processing of the whole society, with the support of various policy tools, such as government subsidy policy. Based on the panel data on the Chinese A-Stock Market (Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Markets) from 2011 to 2020, this article empirically studies the correlations between the government subsidies, innovation input, and innovation output of the NGITCs. In the first step, we check the immediate effect and delayed effect of the government subsidies on the innovation output of the NGITCs and further test whether the ownership and geographical locations of the NGITCs have moderating effects between the government subsidies and innovation output of the NGITCs. In the second step, we investigate the government subsidies’ immediate impact and the delayed effect on the innovation input of the NGITCs. In the third step, we examine the innovation input’s immediate effect and the delayed effect on the innovation output of the NGITCs. In the last step, we analyze the mediating role of innovation input between government subsidies and the innovation output of the NGITCs. Our findings indicate that government subsidies positively promote the innovation output of the NGITCs and have a two-year-delayed effect. However, the government subsidies can most significantly increase the innovation output of the non-state-owned enterprises and those in the coastal areas. The government subsidies enhance the innovation input and have a three-year positive delayed effect. Innovation input positively impacts innovation output and also has a two-year-delayed effect. Our results also show that innovation input presents a partial mediating effect between government subsidies and the innovation output of the NGITCs.

Résumé :
This paper investigates the pth moment input-to-state stability (ISS) and the pth moment integral input-to-state stability (iISS) of stochastic impulsive switched delayed system with delayed impulses. By employing the method of multiple Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals and the uniformly exponentially stable function, some relaxed Krasovskii-type sufficient conditions ensuring the pISS/piISS of the addressed systems are developed. These conditions imply the relationship among the impulsive frequency, the time delay existing in impulses, and the coefficients of the estimated upper bound for the derivative of a Lyapunov function. It is shown that if the continuous stochastic delayed dynamics is ISS, and the impulsive effects are destabilizing, then the stochastic impulsive switched delayed system is ISS with respect to the relationship. Compared with the existing results, the conditions obtained results have three relaxations, that is, the derivative of Lyapunov functions of subsystems are allowed to be sign-changing time-varying function rather than a negative definite constant, all subsystems are allowed to be unstable, and the effect of delayed impulses are considered. Finally, an example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the results.
