The content and composition of 1,2-diacyl-sn-glycerol (1,2-DAG) was determined in hepatocytes from saline (0.9% NaCl)- and Escherichia coli endotoxin (ET)-infused rats upon continuous vasopressin (VP) (10(-8) M) stimulation. In both experimental groups the accumulation of 1,2-DAG was detected after a lag period (2-5 min), was sustained up to the last time analysed (10 min), and C18:0- and C20:4-fatty-acid-containing-DAG accumulation preceded that of DAG containing other acyl groups. In hepatocytes from ET-infused rats the VP-induced accumulation of DAG was delayed and was decreased by 50%, showing a C18:0/C20:4 molar ratio of 1.6 as compared with 1.1 for cells from saline-infused rats. A similar lower cellular response to VP stimulation was observed in cells prelabelled with [14C]C20:4 fatty acid. The accumulation of [14C]C20:4-DAG (lower in ET than in saline-infused rats) was paralleled by a decrease in phosphatidylinositol (PI) labelling, whereas phosphatidic acid showed a transient increase by 5 min in saline- but not in ET-infused rats. The present results demonstrate that the previously reported impairment in the early degradation of poly-PI and later in the ‘PI cycle’ during VP stimulation [Rodriguez de Turco & Spitzer (1987) Metab. Clin. Exp. 36, 753-760] is also reflected at the level of their phosphodiesteratic product, DAG. Moreover, the kinetics of the accumulation of DAG acyl groups is consistent with the idea that the initial release of C18:0- and C20:4-DAG (possibly derived from inositol lipids) could regulate the subsequent enlargement of this pool by stimulating a phospholipase C-mediated degradation of other phospholipids (e.g. phosphatidylcholine).

Résumé :
Abstract Introduction: Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK), a member of the Tec family, plays a crucial role in signaling through B-cell receptor (BCR). BTK inhibition blocks BCR signals and prevents B-cell activation and growth. First-generation BTK inhibitors such as ibrutinib covalently binds to a cysteine residue (C481) of BTK. Their most frequent acquired resistance is the development of a serine mutation in the binding site (C481S). Next generation BTK inhibitors such as LOXO-305 and ARQ 531 are being developed to overcome this resistance to first-generation inhibitors. Methods: HMPL-760 was tested in biochemical assays using recombinant human wild type (WT) and C481S mutant BTKs. Its selectivity was carried out using Eurofins Cerep KinaseProfilerTM panel. Cellular activity of HMPL-760 was evaluated in HEK293 cells stably transfected with BTKWT or BTKC481S, and other tumor cell lines, which are either human diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) or mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) cell lines. The in vivo antitumor activity and PKPD correlation of HMPL-760 was studied in HBL-1 xenograft mouse models bearing BTKWT or BTKC481S respectively. Results: In biochemical assays, HMPL-760 strongly inhibits BTK kinase activities towards wild-type BTK (BTKWT) and C481S mutant (BTKC481S), and binds to BTK in a reversible way. HMPL-760 demonstrates high selectivity in a panel containing 413 kinases. In cellular assays, HMPL-760 displays strong anti-proliferative activities in B-cell lymphoma cells (TMD-8, OCI-LY10, REC-1, HBL-1 and HBL-1-BTKC481S) harboring either BTKWT or BTKC481S (GI50: 0.0015-0.046 μM). In human whole blood assay, HMPL-760 inhibits activation of B-cells at nanomolar concentrations measured by inhibition of immunoglobulin-induced CD69 expression in CD19+cells. HMPL-760 shows ≥ 10-fold inhibitory potency than ARQ 531 in both BTKWT and BTKC481S cells, and ~3-fold higher inhibitory potency than that of LOXO-305 in BTKC481S cells. In cellular assay by detecting p-BTK after compound washout, HMPL-760 maintains a longer duration of target inhibition than LOXO-305 in both BTK wild type (HBL-1) and BTK mutant (HBL-1-BTKC481S) cell lines. HMPL-760 displays dose-dependent antitumor efficacy in multiple human B cell lymphoma xenograft models in mice when orally administered at 3~50 mg/kg once daily. Complete tumor regression occurs in most of the tested models at the high dose levels. HMPL-760 shows much stronger antitumor efficacy than LOXO-305 and ARQ 531 at similar dose level, which may be associated with HMPL-760’s higher drug exposures and more sustainable inhibition on BTK phosphorylation in the tumor tissues. Conclusion: HMPL-760 is a reversible, selective, highly potent, BTK inhibitor targeting both BTKWT and BTKC481S. The first-in-human Phase 1 clinical trials of HMPL-760 are under way in patients with r/r B-NHL (NCT05190068, NCT05176691). Résumé :
Dam construction provides economic importance to the environs through, water supply and flood control. Post-construction investigation is however necessary for maintenance stability to avoid irreversible environmental changes. In view of this, horizontal resistivity profiling and vertical electrical sounding (VES) were conducted along the embankments and the downstream of Asejire dam to determine its integrity. The methods used were horizontal resistivity profiling and vertical electrical soundings conducted along the embankments and the downstream. Thirty-one VES and Dipole-Dipole Profiling were occupied along the embankments and downstream using Resistivity meter at 20 m intervals for both the VES and Dipole-Dipole. The Dipole-Dipole data were inverted into 2-D Resistivity Images using DIPPRO™ 4.0 Inversion Software while the VES data were quantitatively interpreted using the partial curve matching technique and Winresist 1.0 Version Software. Results of dipole-dipole image and geo-electric section identified three geo-electric layers; comprising topsoil presumably clayey sand and laterites with resistivity and thickness between 59-760m and 0.7-5.2m respectively. The second layer is weathered layer attributed with clay/clayey sand having resistivity and thickness 18-766m and 3.1-36.7 m. The third layer suspected to be fresh bedrock with resistivity range 121-3672m and 18-766 m thick. The Dipole-Dipole results displayed resistivity less than 500m in the first layer with structural evidence of discontinuous observables, but the underlying sequences displayed no indicative of structural weakness. This significant features play a major role in seepage processes from the dam, therefore lithological composition obtained from these results shows the dam has a good integrity.

Résumé :
The aim of the study is to reconstruct the forest vegetation of the Czech Republic in the period between agricultural prehistory (Neolithic, LnK, c. 7600 BP) and the Early Middle Ages on an elevation gradient from 140 to c. 500 m above sea level using anthracological data from archaeological sites – ARV (anthracologically reconstructed vegetation). A large set of data from 601 archaeological sites (990 components) containing 289,489 identified charcoal fragments was analysed. The analysed set of data contains both a selection of previously published results and, especially, a large amount of as yet unpublished data from the authors of the article. A basic comparison of the ARV with the composition of the potential natural vegetation (PNV after Neuhäuslová et al. 1998) was then conducted. The chronological development of the anthracologically reconstructed vegetation is compared with information from pollen analyses (PRV after Abraham et al. 2016) from the Czech Republic. The results of our study clearly show that anthracological data are an important source of information concerning the forest vegetation on land mostly deforested today, at lowland forest sites heavily affected by erosion and forests at medium elevations. The text outlines the basic ecological characteristics of selected anthracologically distinguishable tree taxa and methodological challenges in anthracological analysis.

Résumé :
Ranking and Selection procedures have been designed to select the best system from a number of alternatives, where the best system is defined by the given problem. The primary focus of this thesis is on experiments where the data are from simulated systems. In simulation ranking and selection procedures, four classes of comparison problems are typically encountered. We focus on two of them: Bernoulli and multinomial selection. Therefore, we wish to select the best system from a number of simulated alternatives where the best system is defined as either the one with the largest probability of success (Bernoulli selection) or the one with the greatest probability of being the best performer (multinomial selection). We focus on procedures that are sequential and use an indifference-zone formulation wherein the user specifies the smallest practical difference he wishes to detect between the best system and other contenders. We apply fully sequential procedures due to Kim and Nelson (2004) to Bernoulli data for terminating simulations, employing common random numbers. We find that significant savings in total observations can be realized for two to five systems when we wish to detect small differences between competing systems. We also study the multinomial selection problem. We offer a Monte Carlo simulation of the Bechhofer and Kulkarni (1984) MBK multinomial procedure and provide extended tables of results. In addition, we introduce a multi-factor extension of the MBK procedure. This procedure allows for multiple independent factors of interest to be tested simultaneously from one data source (e.g., one person will answer multiple independent surveys) with significant savings in total observations compared to the factors being tested in independent experiments (each survey is run with separate focus groups and results are combined after the experiment). Another multi-factor multinomial procedure is also introduced, which is an extension to the MBG procedure due to Bechhofer and Goldsman (1985, 1986). This procedure performs better that any other procedure to date for the multi-factor multinomial selection problem and should always be used whenever table values for the truncation point are available.

In the agri-chain of cassava starch in Brazil, the supply of firms is through different governance structures. These structures range from the purchase via the spot market - without any contractual control over the production - to the hierarchy or vertical integration, structure in which the company is growing in own areas, with full control over the production. Between these two extremes were also identified other governance structures, which are called Hybrid arrangements that can approach the spot market or hierarchy. This essay aimed to identify the factors that influence the decisions of the paranaenses starch factories on the governance structures in buying - cassava supply in the state of Paraná. The specific objectives are: a) show if there is specifics that support the necessity to search for a particular organizational arrangement to the detriment of business through the spot market in the state of Paraná; b) analyze the factors that justify the choices of cassava starch factories for plural or singular forms in the state of Paraná; c) comparing the efficiency of the use or the combination of governance mechanisms in cassava starch factories in Paraná State, considering idleness as an index for the year 2014. The entire analysis of this essay is based on the theoretical assumptions of the New Institutional Economics (NIE), especially in the Transaction Cost Economics (TCE). In this essay the explanatory method was the most appropriate, once for this it sought to identify the determining factors for the occurrence of the phenomena observed: i) coexistence of plural forms of governance to coordinate the purchase of cassava by starch factories in Brazil and in the state of Paraná. This research method more approach the scientific knowledge to the real world as it explains the reason and why the facts. In the case of cassava, the characteristics of transactions - temporal and locational characteristics, as well as uncertainty and frequency – were not relevant for the choice of governance structures, on the contrary to what literature indicates. Even considering these characteristics, in Brazil and in the state of Paraná was prevailing the coordination by the spot market. The results also indicated the existence of a plurality of transactions in many levels - with different agents, and similar agents in a single transaction - since the combination of different governance structures can reduce transaction costs and even increase the efficiency of industry here measured by the reduction of industrial idleness.

Palmer, Harold. « A Data Warehouse Methodology and Model for Student Data in Higher Education ». NSUWorks, 2006. http://nsuworks.nova.edu/gscis_etd/760.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
The problem to be investigated in this study focuses on the development of a method to improve the quality of the data contained in the academic student records component of a data warehouse (DW) in a higher education setting. A DW should contain high-quality data and be considered a successful implementation by the stakeholders of the system. Such a system will allow administrators at higher education institutions to be able to make sound decisions for their college or university. A questionnaire was made available to information technology specialists and managerial end-users who worked in higher education institutions. These potential respondents were contacted by-mail and provided a link to a web-site that allowed them participants to access the questionnaire. The data collected from the questionnaire responses was analyzed by using a chi square analysis and an analysis of variance. DW quality was used as the dependent variable in this study. Whether or not a design methodology was used in the development of the DW or other on-line analytical processing (OLAP) data architecture, the extent of metadata use during the development of the DW or other OLAP data architecture, whether or not data marts were developed before the development of the DW or other OLAP architecture, and the amount of collaboration used in the development of the DW or other OLAP architecture were used as independent variables in this study. The researcher identified positive relationships that existed between quality variables and design constructs. These constructs were then used to build a model for building a DW that could be used for higher education applications. This model focused on the academic student records applications. After analysis of the responses from the questionnaire, it was determined that the use of Meta data and end-user involvement had a positive relationship to obtaining high-quality data in a DW. Based on these results a model using a star-schema and a modification of the Zachman Framework was developed. A suggestion as to the organizational structure that can lead to a successful DW implementation was also suggested. This structure allows for increased control of the project during its development and implementation by the use of metadata. The ultimate goal of the researcher in this study was to build a model for a DW in higher education that can improve decision-making performance of administrators at higher education institutions.

Development efforts are underway to qualify boiler and turbine materials for the ultra-supercritical (USC) steam conditions of 720/760°C and 31/35 MPa. An evaluation of the creep-rupture and stress relaxation data was performed for the critical turbine components of casing and bolting. The casing materials were Inconel 740, Udimet 500, and CCA617. Time-temperature parametric analysis of the rupture data was performed to determine the average rupture stress for a life of 100,000 hours at temperatures from 700 to 760°C. A multiple heat analysis was used for Inconel 740, and the average stress varied from 88 MPa to 109 MPa at 760°C. For Udimet 500, data for both cast and forged materials were used, and the average rupture stress was approximately the same, greater than 150 MPa at 760°C. The maximum useful temperature for CCA617 is about 730°C based on a 100 MPa/105 hours criterion. The bolting materials were Nimonic 105 and Udimet 500. For Nimonic 105, the initial strain was 0.15% and the calculated relaxed stress at 760°C was 32 MPa (using the Larson Miller parameter). For Udimet 500, the initial strains were 0.2% and 0.3%. The calculated time to a relaxed stress of 47 MPa depended on the time-temperature parameter used, and ranged from 50,000 to 100,000 hours at 760°C for an initial strain of 0.3%.

Résumé :
Abstract The process of long-distance hot oil pipeline is complicated, and its safety and optimization are contradictory. In actual production and operation, the theoretical calculation model of oil temperature along the pipeline has some problems, such as large error and complex application. This research relies on actual production data and uses big data mining algorithms such as BP neural network, ARMA, seq2seq to establish oil temperature prediction model. The prediction result is less than 0.5 C, which solves the problem of accurate prediction of dynamic oil temperature during pipeline operation. Combined with pigging, the friction prediction model of standard pipeline section is established by BP neural network, and then the economic pigging period of 80 days is given; and after the friction database is established, the historical friction data are analyzed by using the Gauss formula, and 95% of the friction is set as the threshold data to effectively monitor the variation of the friction due to the long period of waxing in pipelines. The closed loop operation system of hot oil pipeline safety and optimization was formed to guide the daily process adjustment and production arrangement of pipeline with energy saving up to 92.4%. The prediction model and research results based on production big data have good adaptability and generalization, which lays a foundation for future intelligent control of pipelines.

Résumé :
Abstract Due to global climate change, concern regarding the environment is greater than ever. Also, the energy industry is constantly developing and investing in new and renewable energy to reduce carbon emissions. Korea is planning to increase the proportion of renewable energy generation to 20% by 2030, in accordance with the 3020 renewable energy policy. This will involve 16.5 GW (34%) from wind energy, with a capacity from offshore wind energy of approximately 13 GW. Considering domestic technological wind resource potential (33.2 GW), it seems to be a sufficient target amount. However, in order to start the wind power generation business, the installation area must be analyzed for environmental information, for the evaluation of the wind resource and the early-stage concept design. Because it is difficult to conduct long-term measurements of the entire sea area, the environmental conditions are generally estimated from short-term measurement data and long-term reanalysis data. In this study, the environmental conditions of the East Sea of Korea were selected, and a comparative analysis was performed on the meteorological agency’s oceanic meteorology buoy data, ERA-5 reanalysis data obtained from ECMWF, and NASA’s MERRA-2 data. The extreme sea states of 50 years and 100 years were analyzed by extreme statistical analysis. Finally, environmental conditions required for the basic design of wind turbines were selected following IEC and DNV standards.

Résumé :
Droplet impingement is the basic module in both ice accretion and anti-icing numerical calculation. A three dimensional finite volume approach with the capacity of modeling the in-flight droplet impingement on a wide range of subsonic regime is therefore established in this research, using OpenFOAM®. The Eulerian model is applied to estimate the droplet flow field with the same computational grid sets as those of the air flow calculation. The roughness effect caused by ice accretion is considered in the wall function modeling. Thus, the collection efficiency could be investigated for further icing numerical simulations. This approach is validated on both cylinder and sphere benchmark cases. The results are compared with the corresponding experimental and LEWICE (LEWis ICE accretion program) simulation data.

Résumé :
The main aim of this article is to present the usage of type-2 fuzzy logic controller to control a shape memory actuator. To enhance real-time performance simplified interval fuzzy sets were used. The algorithm was implemented in the ATmega32 microcontroller. The dedicated PC application was also built. The fuzzy logic controller type-2 was tested experimentally by controlling position of the shape memory alloy actuator NM70 which despite its small size distinguishes itself by its strength. The obtained results confirmed that type-2 fuzzy controller performed efficiently with a difficult to control nonlinear plant. The research also proved that interval type-2 controllers, which are a simplified version of the general type-2 controllers, are very efficient. They can handle uncertainties without increasing drastically the computational complexity. Experimental data comparison of the fuzzy logic controller type-2 with type-1 clearly indicates the superiority of the former, especially in reducing overshooting.

Résumé :
Abstract In order to ensure the safe and economic operation of waxy crude oil transportation process, the micro-dynamic mechanism and thermodynamic characteristics of wax precipitation process at nanoscale are necessary to be revealed. Here, we established the molecular dynamics model to characterize the phase transition and precipitation behavior of waxy molecules in multiphase system (including oil, asphaltene and water), the relative error between simulated results and experimental data measured by Dutour et al. (2002) is less than 5%. Under the coupling effect of different operation parameters, the molecular dynamics simulation was employed, the simulated results showed that the spherical paraffin crystals underwent the process of dissolution, diffusion and aggregation, then the waxy cluster crystals with larger amount but smaller volume would form, and it would deposit on the outer wall under the concentration gradient. The influence mechanism of different operating parameters on wax precipitation was analyzed, of which the increase of temperature and water cut will decrease the wax precipitation, while the increase of pressure will enhance the wax precipitation rate, furthermore, by means of the hydrogen bonding and the effect of similar dissolution, the water and asphaltene molecules also affect the wax precipitation process at molecular-scale. The researches of this paper provide the theoretical support for the paraffin removal and control in waxy crude oil pipeline transportation process.

Résumé :
The Mini-Plate 2 (MP-2) irradiation test is a fueled experiment designed for irradiation in multiple test locations in the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR). MP-2 is considered a non-instrumented drop-in test where small aluminum-clad fuel plate samples are cooled directly by the ATR Primary Coolant System (PCS) water. The MP-2 fuel plate experiment will be irradiated in several different irradiation locations of the ATR. This fueled experiment contains aluminum-clad fuel mini plates consisting of monolithic U-Mo. Four different types of fuel plates were analyzed. A thermal analysis has been performed on the MP-2 experiment to be irradiated in the ATR at Idaho National Laboratory (INL). A new technique for calculating Departure from Nucleate Boiling Ratio (DNBR) and Flow Instability Ratio (FIR) using the commercial finite element and heat transfer code ABAQUS is demonstrated. This new technique calculates DNBR for the fuel plate surfaces and FIR for all water components for each finite element surface and node. Pressure drop data is fed into the calculations in order to geometrically calculate the water saturation temperature. Results from the DNBR and FIR calculations are displayed with the ABAQUS post processor named Viewer. By calculating these parameters at each location in the finite element model, conservatism is replaced with accuracy. This allows for a greater margin for the thermal hydraulic safety parameters.

Résumé :
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) national seismic hazard maps have historically been produced for a reference site condition of VS30 = 760 m/sec (where VS30 is time averaged shear wave velocity in the upper 30 m of the site). The resulting ground motions are modified for five site classes (A-E) using site amplification factors for peak acceleration and ranges of short- and long-oscillator periods. As a result of Project 17 recommendations, this practice is being revised: (1) maps will be produced for a range of site conditions (as represented by VS30 ) instead of a single reference condition; and (2) the use of site factors for period ranges is being replaced with period-specific factors over the period range of interest (approximately 0.1 to 10 sec). Since the development of the current framework for site amplification factors in 1992, the technical basis for the site factors used in conjunction with the USGS hazard maps has remained essentially unchanged, with only one modification (in 2014). The approach has been to constrain site amplification for low-to-moderate levels of ground shaking using inference from observed ground motions (approximately linear site response), and to use ground response simulations (recently combined with observations) to constrain nonlinear site response. Both the linear and nonlinear site response has been based on data and geologic conditions in the western U.S. (an active tectonic region). This project and a large amount of previous and contemporaneous related research (e.g., NGA-East Geotechnical Working Group for site response) has sought to provide an improved basis for the evaluation of ergodic site amplification in central and eastern North America (CENA). The term ‘ergodic’ in this context refers to regionally-appropriate, but not site-specific, site amplification models (i.e., models are appropriate for CENA generally, but would be expected to have bias for any particular site). The specific scope of this project was to review and synthesize relevant research results so as to provide recommendations to the USGS for the modeling of ergodic site amplification in CENA for application in the next version of USGS maps. The panel assembled for this project recommends a model provided as three terms that are additive in natural logarithmic units. Two describe linear site amplification. One of these describes VS30-scaling relative to a 760 m/sec reference, is largely empirical, and has several distinct attributes relative to models for active tectonic regions. The second linear term adjusts iv site amplification from the 760 m/sec reference to the CENA reference condition (used with NGA-East ground motion models) of VS =3000 m/sec; this second term is simulation-based. The panel is also recommending a nonlinear model, which is described in a companion report [Hashash et al. 2017a]. All median model components are accompanied by models for epistemic uncertainty. The models provided in this report are recommended for application by the USGS and other entities. The models are considered applicable for VS30 = 200–2000 m/sec site conditions and oscillator periods of 0.08–5 sec. Finally, it should be understood that as ergodic models, they lack attributes that may be important for specific sites, such as resonances at site periods. Site-specific analyses are recommended to capture such effects for significant projects and for any site condition with VS30 < 200 m/sec. We recommend that future site response models for hazard applications consider a two-parameter formulation that includes a measure of site period in addition to site stiffness.

Durling, P. W. Seismic reflection interpretation of the Carboniferous Cumberland Basin, Northern Nova Scotia. Natural Resources Canada/CMSS/Information Management, 2023. http://dx.doi.org/10.4095/331223.

Résumé :
An interpretation of approximately 1700 km of seismic data was completed in 1996. The seismic analysis, together with well information and geological map data, were used to map thirteen seismic horizons in the Cumberland Basin. Ten of the horizons were mapped only in limited areas, whereas three horizons could be mapped regionally. These are: BW (base of the Windsor Group), BP (base of the Boss Point Formation), and PG (base of the Pictou Group). The BW horizon is the deepest regional horizon mapped. The horizon generally dips southerly toward the Cobequid Highlands. It is affected by faults adjacent to the Scotsburn Anticline and the Hastings Uplift; the horizon was not recognized over part of the uplift. On the seismic reflection data, the horizon varies between 500 ms and 3200 ms two-way travel time (approximately 800-7600 metres) and rocks corresponding to this horizon do not outcrop in the basin. The BP and PG horizons can be traced to outcrop on the flanks of the major anticlines. Time structure maps of these horizons mimic the distribution of synclines mapped from outcrop geology. The BP horizon is affected by more faults and is more tightly folded than the PG horizon south of a major fault (Beckwith Fault). North of the Beckwith Fault, both horizons are essentially flat and not deformed. Several geological relationships were documented during this study. A thick (up to 1600 m) clastic unit was recognized in the central portion of the southern margin of the Cumberland Basin. It is interpreted as Windsor Group equivalent. Seismic reflections from within the Falls and Millsville conglomerates were recognized and suggest that these rocks correlate with the Windsor Group. Seismic profiles that cross the southern margin of the Cumberland Basin image parts of the asement complex to the south of the basin (Cobequid Highlands) and show reflection patterns consistent with mountain fronts. The seismic data image the folded and faulted Cobequid Highlands basement complex, which is interpreted as a thrusted structural wedge.

Résumé :
Re-examination of the rare earth elements (REE) deposits in the Cornudas Mountains is warranted in light of today's economic importance of critical minerals, including REE that are essential in most of our electronic devices. New mapping, petrography, 40Ar/39Ar geochronology, and geochemical analyses have provided a better understanding of the emplacement of these intrusions and associated mineral deposits. The Cornudas Mountains form the northern Trans-Pecos alkaline magmatic province in the southern part of the North American Cordilleran alkaline-igneous belt. The igneous rocks in the Cornudas Mountains were emplaced in two pulses at 37.14-34.5 and 32.48-26.95 Ma, just prior to or during the early phases of Rio Grande rift extension, and consist of 1) larger nepheline syenite-syenite laccoliths and plugs, 2) phonolite plugs, sills, and dikes, 3) smaller syenite plugs and dikes that intrude Permian and Cretaceous sedimentary rocks, and 4) volcanic breccia dikes. New USGS geophysical data indicate that some of these intrusions extend deep into the subsurface, with additional buried intrusions potentially at depth. The focus of REE exploration is along the lower unit (PEnsp2) of the Wind Mountain nepheline syenite laccolith, as well as within syenite-phonolite and volcanic breccia dikes, plugs and skarns and carbonate-replacement deposits in Chess Draw. Some samples contain as much as 3110 ppm total REE. REE could be leached from a mineral concentrate of the REE-bearing minerals (eudialyte, zircon, monazite, bastnasite, calcio-catapleiite, vitusite, roumaite, xenotime). We incorporate whole rock and clinopyroxene chemistry of each intrusion into the clinopyroxene-liquid geothermobarometer (Masotta, 2013) to determine the temperatures and pressures of emplacement. This thermometer provides higher crystallization temperature estimates for the syenite intrusions (857-1027 deg. C) than the phonolite sills (760-869 deg. C). We then use the barometric estimates (0.3-3.3 kbar) to calculate emplacement depths (1.2-12.3 km). Pairing these depths with the new geochronology, minimum exhumation rates for intrusions in the Cornudas Mountains are estimated that range from 0.04-0.34 mm/yr crystallization temperatures and exhumation rates provide additional information to aid in developing a model for the formation of REE deposits.

Résumé :
Objective The aim of this living systematic review is to provide a summary of the effects of remdesivir in the of people with acute covid-19. Methods Eligible studies were randomised trials evaluating the effect of remdesivir versus placebo or no treatment. We conducted searches in COVID-19 L·OVE (Living OVerview of Evidence) platform, a system that performs regular searches in databases, trial registries, preprint servers and websites relevant to COVID-19. All the searches covered the period until 06/23/2023. No date or language restrictions were applied. Two reviewers independently evaluated potentially eligible studies according to predefined selection criteria, and extracted data on study characteristics, methods, outcomes, and risk of bias, using a predesigned, standardised form. We performed meta-analyses using random-effect models and assessed overall certainty in evidence using the GRADE approach. Results Our search strategy yielded 897 references. 10 randomized controlled trials reported in 15 references met our inclusion criteria and were included in the review. The relative risk of mortality was 0.91 (95% CI 0.83 - 1.00). This means remdesivir reduced the risk of mortality in 9%, compared with placebo or no treatment. In the studies identified in this review 760 people not receiving remdesivir out of 5372 presented the outcome Mortality (141 per 1000) versus 732 out of 5790 in the group that did receive it, with a risk difference of -12.22 per 1000 (from -24 to 0). In other words, -12.22 per 1000 (from -24 to 0) people did not develop the outcome because of the intervention. We assessed the certainty of the evidence for this outcome as low. The estimated absolute effect, -12.22 per 1000 (from -24 to 0), falls in the range of an effect of small magnitude. The relative risk of mechanical ventilation requirement was 0.62 (95% CI 0.40 - 0.94). This means placebo or no treatment reduced the risk of mechanical ventilation requirement by 38%, compared with . In the studies identified in this review 710 people not receiving placebo or no treatment out of 4539 presented the outcome Mechanical ventilation requirement (156 per 1000) versus 616 out of 4920 in the group that did receive it, with a risk difference of -60.11 per 1000 (from -93 to -10). This means reduced the risk of serious adverse events by 25%, compared with . In the studies identified in this review 266 people not receiving out of 1266 presented the outcome Serious adverse events (210 per 1000) versus 266 out of 1665 in the group that did receive it, with a risk difference of -53.38 per 1000 (from -84 to -16). In other words, -53.38 per 1000 (from -84 to -16) people did not develop the outcome because of the intervention. We assessed the certainty of the evidence for this outcome as moderate. The estimated absolute effect, -53.38 per 1000 (from -84 to -16), falls in the range of an effect of moderate magnitude. Conclusions Remdesivir may result in a slight reduction in mortality.
