Spring wheat is main crop of Mongolia and sown more 90% of agricultural planting area. Total wheat production of Mongolia are increasing gradually, but out of strong and valuable wheat for bread and flour production. Main case of providing sustainable wheat production are develop and widely cultivate strong and valuable wheat varieties resistant to abiotic stresses, with high yield and good quality. Spring wheat varieties by HMW-GS loci were similar, but variety Darkhan-166 /Arvin/ was more than others varieties. Wheat varieties Darkhan-144, KP-547-12, Darkhan-131, Darkhan-144 and KP-561-12 have a high 1000 grain weight (41.5-44.8 g). Spring wheat varieties KP-547-12, Darkhan-131 and KP-561-12 have a high dry gluten content (13.1-14.2%). Water absorption of spring wheat varieties were 61-62% and by this parameters Darkhan-131, Darkhan-166 and KP-547-12 varieties were a high. Dough development time of wheat varieties were 8-13 мин and Darkhan-131, Darkhan-166, Darkhan-172 and KP-547-12 varieties have a high flour power. Wheat varieties Darkhan-131 and KP-547-12 have a high dough energy (828.8-857.2 g.mm).

The identification of cereal and horticultural varieties are important for registration and agricultural systems. The traditional way to variety identification is the recording of morphological characters using descriptors. But molecular markers may serve as a modern and suitable approach to variety identification such as ISSR. The objective of the study was to identify the 17 ISSR primers, 801~849, for varietal identification of six wheat varieties, Darkhan-34, Darkhan-166 (Arvin), Darkhan-131, Darkhan-144, Khalkhgol-1 and Tsogt. As a result of ISSR marker observation on varieties, Arvin can be identified with 817, Khalkhgol-1 with 817 and 827, Tsogt with 822, Darkhan-34 with 830, Darkhan-131 with 830 and 848 and Darkhan-144 with 827, 830 and 848 primers. Among the surveyed ISSR primers, five can be used as variety-specific primers, 817, 827, 822, 830 and 848.

The main vital cereal crop in Mongolia is wheat (Triticum spp .). There are more than 10000 wheat varieties are released and registered in the world wheat atlas up to the date. Internationally, wheat varieties are identified by their genotypes. However, local wheat varieties are being identified only by its phenotypic traits in Mongolia. Not significant study was carried out on wheat varietal identification. In this study, we aim to differentiate widely planting 6 local wheat varieties Darkhan-34, Darkhan-131, Darkhan-144, Darkhan-166, Tsogt and Khalkh-gol-1 using PCR based common quality and disease 22 markers. As a result, 10 out of 22 markers were detected in all wheat varieties in distinct sizes, 8 markers detected otherwise and 4 markers was not detected at all. Thus, the ZSBy9 marker which is specific marker to distinguish Darkhan-144, ZSBy8 primer which is specific marker to distinguish Khalkh gol-1, GluA1c and GluB1 Bx642 markers those are specific markers to distinguish Tsogt variety from other studied varieties respectively.

Aims. We measured the Sloan g′ magnitudes of the Starlink’s STARLINK-1130 (Darksat) and 1113 low Earth orbit (LEO) communication satellites to determine the effectiveness of the Darksat darkening treatment at 475.4 nm. Methods. Two observations of the Starlink’s Darksat LEO communication satellite were conducted on 2020/02/08 and 2020/03/06 using Sloan r′ and g′ filters, respectively. A second satellite, STARLINK-1113, was observed on 2020/03/06 using a Sloan g′ filter. The initial observation on 2020/02/08 was a test observation conducted when Darksat was still in the process of manoeuvring to its nominal orbit and orientation. Based on the successful test observation, the first main observation took place on 2020/03/06, along with an observation of the second Starlink satellite. Results. The calibration, image processing, and analysis of the Darksat Sloan g′ image gives an estimated Sloan g′ magnitude of 7.46 ± 0.04 at a range of 976.50 km. For STARLINK-1113, an estimated Sloan g′ magnitude of 6.59 ± 0.05 at a range of 941.62 km was found. When scaled to a range of 550 km and corrected for the solar and observer phase angles, a reduction by a factor of two is seen in the reflected solar flux between Darksat and STARLINK-1113. Conclusions. The data and results presented in this work demonstrate that the special darkening coating used by Starlink for Darksat has darkened the Sloan g’ magnitude by 0.77 ± 0.05 mag when the range is equal to a nominal orbital height (550 km). This result will serve members of the astronomical community who are actively modelling the satellite mega-constellations to ascertain their actual impact on both amateur and professional astronomical observations. Both concurrent and subsequent observations are planned to cover the full optical and NIR spectrum using an ensemble of instruments, telescopes, and observatories.

The study was provided in IPAS during 2016-2019. The objective of this study was to determine the grain quality characteristics of spring wheat varieties based on bread making quality related parameters. Results of study shown early maturing varieties Darkhan-160, Darkhan-172 have 0.5-2.1 cn/ha more yield than Darkhan-131 and middle maturing varieties Darkhan-74, Altaiskaya-325, Altaiskaya-70 have 0.3-2.5 cn/ha more yield than Darkhan-131. Comparing grain protein content of favorable and drought condition early maturing varieties were reduced protein content by 2.0%, middle maturing – 1.8% and late maturing – 1.3%. By ranking grain quality parameters wheat varieties Darkhan-160, Buryatskaya ostistaya, Arvin, Darkhan-144 and Darkhan-181have a good quality. The study was conducted during 2015-2019 in IPAS. The spring wheat variety “Darkhan-212” was developed by a wheat breeding program from cross varieties Darkhan-140 and Darkhan-144 in 2005 and transferred to the State variety trial in 2019. Results of the yield trial shown the spring wheat variety “Darkhan-212” matured by 87 days, yielded 0.33 t/ha more than check variety Darkhan-34, have a high yield capacity (4.28 t/ha), a good bread-making quality, and a high tolerance to drought, lodging, shattering and diseases. The economic efficiency of the new variety was 181.5 thousand tugriks per hectare than check variety Darkhan-34. We study possible observational effects of scalar dark matter, the darkon D, in Higgs h and top quark t decay processes, h → DD and t → cDD in the minimal Standard Model (SM) and its two Higgs doublet model (THDM) extension supplemented with a SM singlet darkon scalar field D. We find that the darkon D can have a mass in the range of sub-GeV to several tens of GeV, interesting for LHC and ILC colliders, to produce the required dark matter relic density. In the SM with a darkon, t → cDD only occurs at loop level giving a very small rate, while the rate for Higgs decay h → DD can be large. In THDM III with a darkon, where tree level flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) interaction exists, a sizable rate for t → cDD is also possible.

Abstract Single plant progeny (SPP) lines of peas (Pisum sativum L.) selected from the cultivars Early Frosty and Darkskin Perfection were compared for days to bloom, nodes to first flower, and yield. In 1980, SPP lines from within a cultivar deviated significantly in bloom date, nodes to first flower, and yield. One SPP line from each cultivar was compared to the commercial cultivar for yield from 1980 through 1985. The average yield during 5 years for ‘Early Frosty’ and ‘Darkskin Perfection’ was 4.07 and 3.72 t·ha-1 and 5.86 and 5.80 t·ha-1 for their respective SPP lines, equivalent to 44% and 56% yield improvement for the SPP lines. The data obtained from the SPP lines establish that genetic diversity existed within the two cultivars studied. This diversity could be stabilized in SPP lines. With one exception, variation between the SPP lines and/or the cultivar were within the phenotypic descriptions of the original cultivars. The superior yield of the SPP lines selected from ‘Early Frosty’ and ‘Darkskin Perfection’ could not be attributed to the selection of an unknown cultivar contaminating ‘Early Frosty’ and ‘Darkskin Perfection’.

In radiobiology, biological effects appear when a biological organism absorbs radiation energy over a critical value. Therefore, the absorption dose, defined as the energy absorbed per unit mass, is the only major parameter that used for characterizing radiation effect. A typical dose-response curve is the survival rate experiences a progress of slowly dropping-slightly ascending- rapidly decreasing. This phenomenon of survival –dose response is universal in ion implantation of plants. The percentage of root and first leaf length and damage effect of ion beam increased in the highest doses. Darkhan-181 variety was more radio-sensitivity than Darkhan-144 variety. The indices of LD50 determined in Darkhan-144 variety 125Gy and in Darkhan-181 150Gy doses. Both two varieties similar result sown in RD50 indices sown in 125Gy (Darkhan-144 48.7%, Darkhan-181 49.1%) dose. We are determined 125-150Gy dose of ion beam radiation is an optimal dose for those varieties. The standard model (SM) plus a real gauge-singlet scalar field dubbed darkon (SM+D) is the simplest model possessing a weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) dark-matter candidate. The upper limits for the WIMP-nucleon elastic cross-section as a function of WIMP mass from the recent XENON10 and CDMS II experiments rule out darkon mass ranges from 10 to (50, 70, 75) GeV for Higgs-boson masses of (120, 200, 350) GeV, respectively. This may exclude the possibility of the darkon providing an explanation for the gamma-ray excess observed in the EGRET data. We show that by extending the SM+D to a two-Higgs-doublet model plus a darkon the experimental constraints on the WIMP-nucleon interactions can be circumvented due to suppression occurring at some values of the product tan α tan β, with α being the neutral-Higgs mixing angle and tan β the ratio of vacuum expectation values of the Higgs doublets. We also comment on the implication of the darkon model for Higgs searches at the LHC.

This talk is based on the previous paper [X. G. He et al., Phys. Rev. D82 (2010) 035016]. We consider a scalar dark-matter model, the SM4+D, consisting of the standard model with four generations (SM4) and a real gauge-singlet scalar called darkon, D, as the weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) dark-matter (DM) candidate. We explore constraints on the darkon sector of the SM4+D from WIMP DM direct-search experiments, and from the decay of a B meson into a kaon plus missing energy. Since the darkon-Higgs interaction may give rise to considerable enhancement of the Higgs invisible decay mode, the existence of the darkon could lead to the weakening or evasion of some of the restrictions on the Higgs mass in the presence of fourth-generation quarks. In addition, it can affect the flavor-changing decays of these new heavy quarks into a lighter quark and the Higgs boson, as the Higgs may subsequently decay invisibly. Therefore, we also study these flavor-changing neutral transitions involving the darkon, as well as the corresponding top-quark decay t → cDD, some of which may be observable at the Tevatron or LHC and thus provide additional tests for the SM4+D.

Kirkendall and Darken findings of the drift velocity since 1948 have stimulated progress in transport phenomenological models. The convection velocity (the Darken drift in solids), , and velocity of diffusion, , require definition and the method how the diffusion displacement is defined, computed and measured. The equation of volume continuity allowed the extension of the Darken method and avoids the rigid assumption of the constant molar concentration. In this work, we use the bi-velocity approach, i.e., the generalized Darken method, to model interdiffusion in two-dimensional diffusion multiple. We show the convergence of one- and two-dimensional models in the case of the process at the constant volume and perfect agreement between R1 and R2 simulations. We impose modifications in the foundations of mechanics of solids namely, the Navier-Lamé-Fourier equations. We show that the method can be used in the mechano-chemistry of solids and is self-consistent with linear irreversible thermodynamics.

The standard [Formula: see text]CDM model of cosmology is formulated as a simple modified gravity coupled to a single scalar field (“darkon”) possessing a nontrivial hidden nonlinear Noether symmetry. The main ingredient in the construction is the use of the formalism of non-Riemannian spacetime volume-elements. The associated Noether conserved current produces stress–energy tensor consisting of two additive parts — dynamically generated dark energy and dark matter components noninteracting among themselves. Noether symmetry breaking via an additional scalar “darkon” potential introduces naturally an interaction between dark energy and dark matter. The correspondence between the [Formula: see text]CDM model and the present “darkon” Noether symmetry is exhibited up to linear order with respect to gravity-matter perturbations. With the Cosmic Chronometers (CC) and the Redshift Space Distortion (RSD) datasets, we study an example for the “darkon” potential that breaks the Noether symmetry and we show that the preservation of this symmetry yields a better fit.

Aims. We aim to measure the Sloan r′, Sloan i′, J, and Ks magnitudes of Starlink’s STARLINK-1130 (Darksat) and STARLINK-1113 low Earth orbit (LEO) communication satellites and determine the effectiveness of the Darksat darkening treatment from the optical to the near-infrared (NIR). Methods. Four observations of Starlink’s LEO communication satellites, Darksat and STARLINK-1113, were conducted on two nights with two telescopes. The Chakana 0.6 m telescope at the Ckoirama observatory (Chile) observed both satellites on 5 Mar. 2020 (UTC) and 7 Mar. 2020 (UTC) using a Sloan r′ and Sloan i′ filter, respectively. The ESO VISTA 4.1 m telescope with the VIRCAM instrument observed both satellites on 5 Mar. 2020 (UTC) and 7 Mar. 2020 (UTC) in the NIR J-band and Ks-band, respectively. Results. The calibration, image processing, and analysis of the Darksat images give r ≈ 5.6 mag, i ≈ 5.0 mag, J ≈ 4.2 mag, and Ks ≈ 4.0 mag when scaled to a range of 550 km (airmass = 1) and corrected for the solar incidence and observer phase angles. In comparison, the STARLINK-1113 images give r ≈ 4.9 mag, i ≈ 4.4 mag, J ≈ 3.8 mag, and Ks ≈ 3.6 mag when corrected for range, solar incidence, and observer phase angles. The data and results presented in this work show that the special darkening coating used by Starlink for Darksat has darkened the Sloan r′ magnitude by 50%, Sloan i′ magnitude by 42%, NIR J magnitude by 32%, and NIR Ks magnitude by 28%. Conclusions. The results show that both satellites increase in reflective brightness with increasing wavelength and that the effectiveness of the darkening treatment is reduced at longer wavelengths. This shows that the mitigation strategies being developed by Starlink and other LEO satellite operators need to take into account other wavelengths, not just the optical. This work highlights the continued importance of obtaining multi-wavelength observations of many different LEO satellites in order to characterise their reflective properties and to aid the community in developing impact simulations and developing mitigation tools.

Selection for drought tolerance typically involves evaluating genotypes for either high yield potential or stable performance under drought stress. In order to select drought tolerant varieties of bread wheat an experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with two replications during the growing season 2014-2018. Eight drought tolerance indices including stress tolerance index (STI), geometric mean productivity (GMP), mean productivity index (MP), stress susceptibility index (SSI), tolerance index (TOL), yield index (YI), yield stability index (YSI) and drought resistance index (DI) were calculated and adjusted based on grain yield under drought years (Ys) and favorable years (Yp). Result of study showed significant positive correlation between grain yield in the stress condition (Ys) with indicators STI, GMP, TOL, MP, and DI, accordingly they are discriminating drought tolerant genotypes at the same manner. Wheat varieties Darkhan-172, Darkhan-72, Altaiskaya-325, Altaiskaya-70, Darkhan-181 has a high yield potential. Genotypes Darkhan-160, Arvin, Darkhan-144 most droughts tolerant and can be use in wheat breeding for improving drought resistance. Stakeholder involvement is a prerequisite in urban strategic sanitation planning, particularly in low-income countries. This paper investigates the experiences and lessons learnt in terms of effective stakeholder involvement gained from a case study on strategic sanitation planning in a peri-urban sub-district in the city of Darkhan, Mongolia. Conceptually the Darkhan case study builds on a participatory sanitation planning approach known in the literature as community-led urban environmental sanitation (CLUES) planning. Firstly, a brief introduction to the CLUES approach, its basic principles for effective stakeholder involvement and its adaptation to the Darkhan case study is given. Secondly, two relevant planning steps including the building and testing of pilot facilities are described and assessed in terms of effective stakeholder involvement. It is shown that even if not all basic principles could be fulfilled adequately, the participatory planning framework helped to improve the scientific outputs of the project – mainly the technological research and development – and to smooth the way for further actions towards the sustainable implementation of measures on a larger scale.

The findings of our research present that children living in apartments, which provide comfortable living condition and environment, are more advanced than their peers who lived in the ger district in their middle and last stages of growth. Social and economic factors, such as housing conditions and the number of family members had feasible impacts on the physical growth. Since the economic transition of the 1990s, the increase in the main indicators of the physical growth and development shows the acceleration phenomenon among the children in Darkhan-Uul province.

Seed size is an important parameter that can influence the germination, growth, and biomass of nursery seedlings and future crops. In this study, the effect of seed size on germination and grain yield was analyzed in six different wheat varieties (early maturity Darkhan-131, Darkhan-160, mid-early maturity Darkhan-34, Darkhan-193, mid-late maturity Darkhan-144, Darkhan-181). Based on diameter, the seeds were categorized into five size classes (>2.0 mm, 2.2 mm, 2.5 mm, 2.8 mm, <3.0 mm) by an analytical sieve machine HAVER EML 200 and planted in a 1m2 plot. The study had three replications. Results of this study showed that the germination rate of medium and larger-sized seeds (<2.2 mm) increased by 7.3-15.0%, but decreased by 14.4-27.3% for smaller-sized seeds (>2.2 mm). The enlarged seed size classes from 2.0 mm to 2.8 mm had an increase in crop yield by 0.49 t/ha. We also found that seed size significantly affected the germination rate and grain yield (F=2.374, P≤0.00). Regression analysis showed that enlarging seed sizes by 0.1 mm increased grain yield by 2.12%. Among all the varieties, the enlarged seed sizes (greater than 2.2 mm) influenced the emergence and yield more so than the smaller seed sizes (less than 2.2 mm), especially in mid-early and mid-late maturity varieties. Results demonstrate that larger seed sizes (>2.2 mm) can be more useful for early-maturity varieties, and smaller seed sizes (>2.5 mm) are more relevant for mid-early and mid-late maturity varieties. Abstract. Urban expansion and land use and land cover change (LUCC) studies are a key knowledge of efficient local governance and urban planning and a lot contributing to the future sustainable development of the city. The main goal of the paper is to model a future urban spatial expansion by 2029 and 2039 of Darkhan city using Landsat TM satellite imagery (land use and cover change map of 1999, 2009, and 2019) and multivariate logistic regression model. Clark Lab’s (Clark University) IDRISI &amp; TerrSet software applied for the urban expansion prediction and the correlation between expansion and driving factors. On account of multivariate logistics regression modelling, eight physical factors influencing urban expansion identified to predict urban expansion based on USGS Landsat TM imageries (Landsat Multispectral Scanner with 60 m resolution). The regression statistic accounted for the probability of future urban expansion was positive. Overall, the LUCC has estimated the transition of natural cover to the impervious surface in Darkhan city. Our result estimates an increase in the built-up area and slum area during the period 1999–2009 and 2009–2019, represents LUCC was characterized by an external transformation from natural to urban area. According to the future urban growth prediction, the urban area would be significantly spread into the open space and natural vegetation area. The main findings stated here are that Darkhan city is expanding in an unsystematic way, even though the urban growth has not been analysed in detail and has a bad case of urban unregulated sprawl.

A new concept of generation and annihilation of vacancies at uniform sinks and sources for vacancies is incorporated into the standard Monte Carlo model for vacancy mediated diffusion. This model enables to treat the vacancy wind as well as the deformation of the specimen and the shift of the Kirkendall plane. The Monte Carlo model is used for the testing of the recent phenomenological theories of diffusion by Darken, Manning and Moleko. The agreement with the self-consistent Moleko theory is excellent. On the other hand the agreement with the classical Darken theory used very often for the explanation of the Kirkendall effect is rather poor.

Abstract The comprehensive study involving uptake and kinetics behaviour of methane and ethane was carried out on a commercial carbon molecular sieve. The gravimetric technique was applied to measure the adsorption isotherms at different temperatures. The kinetic behaviours of methane and ethane were investigated by extracting the uptake data from isotherms at different pressure steps. Considering CMS as a homogenous microporous adsorbent, only two main resistances: surface barrier (at the pore mouth) and diffusion resistance (inside the pores) were considered in analysing the kinetic data. The kinetic analysis showed dominance of surface barrier resistance at all temperatures and pressures investigated in this study. Modified Darken equation was used to calculate the sorbates’ activation energies for adsorption in CMS pores. Compared to Darken equation, the modified Darken model predicted the concentration dependency of the surface rate constants more accurately, especially at higher sorbates’ concentrations. The activation energy of methane and ethane was greater than the heat of adsorption demonstrating a large impedance and barrier at the pore surface to the methane and ethane molecules. The kinetic selectivity of methane over ethane was calculated from the combined surface barrier/diffusion model parametric analysis. The results generally showed a greater selectivity to methane over ethane, i. e., the higher mass transfer rates.

According to the survey 3200 hectors of forest in Khongor, Shariin gol, Orkhon soums of Darkhan-Uul aimag affected by forest pests. Gypsy moth (Ocneria dispar Linn is in Khongor, Shariin gol soum, satin moth (Stilpnotia (Leucoma) salicis Linn) is in Orkhon soum mainly spreading and causing damage. In survey the number of gypsy mouth per tree was 14-24, and average number of eggs per pack was 210-240, in Khongor and Shariin gol soum. As well as in Orkhon soum, average number of satin moth per tree was 10-15, and average number of eggs per pack was 140-150. The density of the gypsy moth was 165 or moderate in Monostoi, Khuitnii gol river outflow, Khavchuu river, Khar Yamaat in Khongor soum, Bulagtai, Domogt in Shariin gol soum, 79-tokhoi, Kharaa river basin, Yeruu river basin in Orkhon soum. After the pest control gypsy mouth counted 140-165, range is 10-15. Result of pest control operation were 95 %.
