Sini, Alessandra. « « Danza di ricerca » : corporéités, espaces et discours en mouvement. : Les pratiques chorégraphiques de Fabrizio Favale, Michele Di Stefano, Alessandra Sini (Italie, 1995-2010) ». Electronic Thesis or Diss., Université Côte d'Azur, 2024. http://www.theses.fr/2024COAZ2013.
Texte intégralAt the crossroads of dance history and aesthetics, this thesis proposes an analytical and poetic approach to the research processes that Italian choreographers Fabrizio Favale, Michele Di Stefano and Alessandra Sini undertook between 1995 and 2010. Their singularities as well as the choreographic concepts and strategies they share, illustrate the vitality and critical scope of the artistic networks active in a significant period of recent Italian dance history. Among the expressions defining the contemporary dance experiences of the same period, the emic category “Danza di ricerca” is proposed here to identify a constant approach in their experimentations, which have transformed over time, through encounters and in relation to the cultural policies in which they are embedded. The embodied memory of the author of this thesis as a dancer, choreographer, spectator and witness is tested using the tools of choreographic, movement and transmission analysis provided by dance studies. The analysis of the choreographers' personal archives, the study of audiovisual, textual and graphic documents of performance events as well as interviews with the choreographers, some of the dancers from their companies and some personalities who played a significant role in their artistic careers, complete the collective portrait of a generation of choreographic artists who contributed to the development of Italian contemporary dance, in relation and resonance with international experiences

Texte intégralIn this research we analyze the dynamics of linguistic contact with the Italian language, dialects and regional varieties described by adult immigrants and their sociolinguistic representations of these varieties. Our study is based on a corpus of fifty audio-taped conversations gathered in the Emilia-Romagna region (in Bologna and Forlì) and realized at immigrants’ work places. The acquisition of dialects and regional Italian varieties has also been considered in some linguistic studies on immigration but they have mainly highlighted the use and attitudes of migrants, underlining their role in the experience of linguistic learning in some regions of the North and of the South of Italy. Neverthless, linguistic socialization practices, which involve the endogen plurilingualism, seem to be less studied and they are the focus of our research which examines the role of dialects for immigrants in their journey since their arrival in Italy and in relation to their personal social network. We considered the role of linguistic socialization practices at work places for repercussions on social and linguistic integration in the host country

Texte intégralThe geographical area concerned is the Salentino, a specific zone in the south of Italy situated in the region of the Pouilles. The dialect (the Salentino) is usually used today alternately with the Italian language. The studied theme is the phenomenon known as tarentisme or the dance of the tarentula which can be observed in the Pouilles which has been rehearsed each year since centuries for the Saint-Paul and Saint-Pierre festivals, is above all a dance destined to expulse, through the music, an animal symbol (the tarentula) from a person, most often a woman, who presents herself and is considered to be “possessed” by a spider spirit. The geographical area concerned is the Salentino, a sordid region situated in a specific zone in the south of Italy. The perspective study adopted is ethnology which methodically permits an interdisciplinary orientation by adopting a completely new approach in relation to much literature on the subject. The tarentisme appears today as a phenomenon which has profoundly changed. Since a few years in the south of Italy there is a large recovery of what is known as Pizzica or music connected to the tarentisme
Nice, 2007. http://www.theses.fr/2007NICE2013.
Texte intégralThe Risorgimento, the drastic social changes of the late XIX th and the early XX th Century, the mutations of the fascism and the reality of the antifascist have been the subject of a great amount of Italian movies between 1954 and 2006. This period constitutes an ideal investigation field to analyse the film makers discourses on the contemporary history of the peninsula. New problematics appeared a few years before the « Golden Age » of the Transalpine cinema. The evolution of those interrogations during the following decades confirmed the interest of the film directors (shared to a certain point with the critic and the public) for the quite tumultuous past of Italy. The aspects of the revolutionary commitment, the dysfunctions of the national model, the relationship between the ruling classes and the working masses, the disintegration of the army during World War I, the attitude of the population towards the fascist regime, and finally, the Southern question – diagonal crossing the whole studied corpus– represent the main themes tackled in the historical Italian movies. Thanks to various cinematographic approaches, authors have therefore determined several types of battles of wills between the power (as diverse as it may be) and the individuals. From that point of view, the importance of the fictions of Luchino Visconti, Florestano Vancini or Francesco Rosi, to only quote them, proves once again that the historiography cannot only be limited to analyse the historian work
Cornez, Élodie. « Les langues du théâtre italien contemporain ». Thesis, Lille 3, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015LIL30003.
Texte intégralThis doctoral dissertation deals with the use of dialectal languages in the contemporary Italian theater. Indeed, these languages remain an important source of inspiration in the most innovating creations of the last thirty years, in spite of the paramount place the Italian language has come to have in the whole national territory since the Italian Unification. This study deals with the values and with what is at stake in these dialectal languages in today's theater which is, most of the time, created by actors-authors: therefore, the relationship between the artist, who is both creator and performer, and dramatic language, relies on a way of tackling the linguistic element that is fundamentally precognitive and corporal as well. After having cleared up the linguistic dynamics in the Italian theater since the Unification ; the study focuses on the work of five contemporary actors-authors: Marco Paolini, Ascanio Celestini, Spiro Scimone (Compagnia Scimone Sframeli), Emma Dante (Compagnia Sud Costa Occidentale) and Enzo Moscato. Studying the work of these artists, as well as a specific play, intends to draw up a cartography of the contemporary Italian theater that is inspired by dialect languages to create its own dramatic language. The study aims to lay emphasis on the convergence lines of creations which deals with three key notions, at the core of the study: time, territory and identity. These three notions will be progressively redefined and precised by working on the idea of limit and boundary

Texte intégralThis thesis offers a joint study of public transport networks and urban spaces in Rome, from a long term perspective, focusing on their political and technical dimensions. It is situated within contemporary debates on the relations between mobility and land-use occupation, which have recently been revitalized by the application of the principle of sustainable development to the city. Whereas the “Eternal City” has long been known for transport deficiencies and urban planning failures, analysis of the transport system and of daily mobility in the Italian capital establishes the common and specific traits of the Roman case, which is usually presented as an “anomaly” among European capitals. We then move on to a historical exploration of the interactions between the development of public transport and urbanization in Rome from 1870 to the present day. The evolution of accessibility in a representative urban area constitutes the main thread in a cross-analysis of public policies. A study of the administrative and technical pathways that determined the implementation of networks and of land-use occupation reveals the slow development of debates, the recurrence of problems and the inertia of configurations in the field of transportation and urban planning. Finally, the “reformist” urban policies introduced between 1993 and 2008, in an attempt to respond to the new challenges of sustainable urban development, are subjected to critical analysis in the light of identified legacies. The examination of the modalities and actors of both infrastructural modernization and planning innovations underlines the persistence of conflicts between competing actors within urban policies. A large-scale study of the major urban projects of the last decade bears witness in the end to the gap between political rituals and the reality of territorial evolutions
Lapia, Roberto. « La domination espagnole en Sardaigne (1479-1720) et la littérature sarde contemporaine ». Thesis, Paris 10, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020PA100037.
Texte intégralThis research analyses how and why the most recent Sardinian literary production updates the presence of the Spanish in Sardinia (1479-1720). It mainly focuses on the attention that Sardinian authors pay today to the Spanish domination on the island but also to the revival, in new forms, of the genre "historical novel". The aim of the work is to understand the reasons for this recovery of history from the literature, and to study through what modalities this need for memory manifests itself. The research is based on a literary corpus composed of ten novels and two short stories writings between 1986 and 2017. The texts chosen are the work of nine authors: Francesco Abate, Paola Alcioni, Giulio Angioni, Sergio Atzeni, Anna Castellino, Pietro Maurandi, Carlo A. Melis Costa, Nicolò Migheli et Raffaele Puddu, belonging to the current called "new Sardinian wave". These texts are all based on the period of Iberian influence in Sardinia. Thanks to these works, which have been widely disseminated, the Spanish period returns to the contemporary imagination. This return to historical memory is manifested, at the literary level, by its own characteristics: the constant presence of a hybrid language; the importance of orality; original use of historical material in the narration; an "other" point of view on events. This corpus has been analysed according to paradigms developed within the framework of the “neo-historical” novel (Benvenuti, 2012 and Domenichelli, 2011), studies on the South and subaltern (Gramsci, 1975 and 2008, Said, 1980 and 2000, Chambers, 2003 and 2006), and according to a “micro-historical” approach (Ginzburg, 1976 and 2006)

Texte intégralMessina 1908, The Aquila 2009, one hundred years have passed between these two earthquakes, an Italy has taken shape. This -so called - geographical expression, has become a Nation. The contours of internal borders have been blurred and the peninsula now seems unified. The History of Italy cannot, however, be divorced from a revengeful Geography, and from its expression, which is, to say the least, upsetting. Earthquakes are being added to a list of risks present on the transalpine territory: landslides, floods and forest fires are among the most important natural hazards. The young republic is not exempt from anthropic or man-made hazards (health, technological, energy, terrorist, related to transport or even land use planning) which sometimes amplify the consequences of natural events when they do not directly and primarily affect the environment. An earthquake, since this is what we will mainly be talking about, could be seen as nothing more than a calamitous geophysical phenomenon. Beyond the impact on people, property and the environment, these phenomena are what we call disasters. Thus, it is important to discern from the outset this key notion: the disaster has a real cathartic and revealing function. It may seem provocative to set under this gnoseological objective events where death and human suffering predominate. However, this is here our aim to study Italian society. The state of crisis into which a society is plunged when it is affected by a catastrophe will be for us more than a prism through which we want to observe it. It will also, and above all, be the revealing element of a reality that is too hidden by the superficial and promotional functioning of modern information channels

Texte intégralOver a period spanning 70 years, 1945 through 2015, ltalian artists carried out a "memory" endeavour for those generations that were bom before the fascist era, during the period of its highest imperialistic aims, during the aftermath of the war, and even for the generation of those artists bom 30 years after the end of the war. As a result, a multitude of individual and collective memories had emerged. This work aims to reconstruct and track the history of these memories (whether or not actually experienced by the artist), and to provide the tools to understand the genesis ofthese memories. Analysing "memory" through art pieces is an intimate, singular, and political act. To what extent fascist memory manipulations affect artistic creations? How do the artists react and position themselves, once confronted with the problems of re-defining "Fascism", after the dictatorship fell? Which new "plastic forms" emerge from these new adaptations of individual and collective memories?
Quali forme plastiche son date a queste rimemorazioni e riattualizzazioni?

Texte intégralIn Italy, the « years of lead » represent a controversial past: this period of recent history is often mobilized in various contexts and its interpretations divide and oppose different actors. This thesis analyses the public uses of history, from the 1970s until today, and shows how a dominant frame of interpretation of past events has been set. Various empirical materials (interviews, autobiographies, archives, parliamentary debates) allowed to study different areas where narrations of past events have been constructed and controversies are taking place. Differently from works that are explaining recurrent controversies about the past by its “exceptional” or “traumatic” character, this research is focusing on the present. It analyses the actors that are intervening in public debates about the past and on their specific issues: judges, victims, former activists, politicians. It sheds light on how the past is continuously constructed and reconstructed in and by contemporary mobilizations and controversies. Thus, this work associates the study of actors’ trajectories and sociopolitical contexts to explain the posterior lives of the 1970s in Italy
Spinelli, Manuela. « Le personnage de l’inetto dans la littérature italienne de la fin du XXe siècle ». Thesis, Paris 10, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014PA100166/document.
Texte intégralThis dissertation investigates the abulic, and weak character of the contemporary inetto, with the aim of showing how this figure’s feeling of unease and disquiet can be read as protest directed at modern-day society. The analysis focuses on novels published in the last two decades of the 20th century, the period in which the figure of inetto becomes a significant presence. The first part of this study reconstructs a possible genealogy of the character. The point of departure here is the general feeling of crisis, which permeated European Literature at the turn of the 20th century. With this broader literary context in mind and highlighting the decisive role of Svevo’s oeuvre, this part of the study delineates the traits of the character of inetto. The second part of the study is devoted to the inetti represented in the novels written in the 1980s. This part is composed of an introductory chapter providing contextualisation for the five novels analysed: Vita standard di un venditore provvisorio di collant (Busi), Diario di un millennio che fugge (Lodoli), Per dove parte questo treno allegro (Veronesi), Casa di nessuno et Gli sguardi cattivi della gente (Piersanti). The third part of the study starts with the depiction of Italian society in the 1990s, followed by the analysis of four selected novels: Tutti giù per terra, (Culicchia) Eccesso di zelo and Denti (Starnone) et Di questa vita menzognera (Montesano). The investigation shows how the presence of inetto can be read in the light of this character’s potential to counter hegemonic social models in an attempt to disclose the hypocritical and contradictory nature of contemporary society. More specifically, in this reading of inetto, this traditionally exclusively male character can be said to embody a new alternative mode of masculinity
Thesis, Paris, EPHE, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016EPHE5065.
Texte intégralThis thesis investigates neo-shamanism, a cultural phenomenon with therapeutic purposes tied to different forms of contemporary spirituality. In addition to healing, the Neo-shamanistic practices being studied also offer adherents a specialized apprenticeship in the techniques as implemented during the seminars led by the neo-shaman. The ethnography, conducted in both France and Italy, finds similarities among the two countries which can be organized around five different elements that characterize such practice; a fascination with an ‘exotic elsewhere’, reference to indigenous cosmologies, a quest for well-being and individual healing, the sacralization of nature, a direct relationship with the neo-shaman and a twofold reflexivity of participants. The thesis highlights three elements; the spreading of the practices, the credibility of the neo-shaman and the therapeutic efficacy achieved during the seminars. The first element shows how practices spread via bookstores, festivals and forms of spiritual tourism. The analysis then demonstrates how the specialists earn credibility from their audiences. The third element of the thesis deals with the ritual relationships that the participants establish with the entities populating the neo-shamanic pantheon. These relationships with different entities mediate a therapeutic encounter with oneself while also constructing a bond with the outer and intimate nature thought to reside within all humanity

Texte intégralThe recognition and the construction of the Italian cookery in France are the products of a historical and social process having its main motive in the eaters’ imagination, based on the old cultural affinity between France and Italy. This performative function of imagination is exercised through concepts (in connection with cookery) circulating among eaters’ consciousness, French semiosphere and the Italian culinary territories in France. In the public space, these territories coincide with the Italians eating-places. This Ph.D. thesis analyses the specific function of the geographical imagination in the contemporary migration and construction of the Italian cookery in France, by considering three dimensions (eaters’ imagination, semiosphere circulating contents, eating-places). A crucial role in this construction is still played by landscape as geographical actant, but this one is increasingly involved in a process of ecologization, as Italian cookery in France becomes the symbol of a travel towards a desired nature. Naturalness as a transitional actant (movement toward nature) takes over from landscape, in the context of increasing ecological anxieties by eaters and a rejection of strictly modernistic food models based on a presumed division between man and nature. Italian cookery in France becomes an illustration of contemporary quest for new ways of life. At the same time, French-Italian high culinary recognition could open new perspectives in the field of the global geopolitics of taste

Texte intégralThe object of the thesis consists in pointing out some possible traces of the influence that exercised the thought of Rousseau on italie, and especially in analysing the repercussion of the principles of religion he expresses in his works. The first volume of this work trys to give, in the first place, a general view of the italian cultural panorama including the values that harbour its history and of its similarity with the french culture, taking also into consideration the influence this country could have exerted on the young Rousseau. In the second place, we present the characteristic touches of the echo produced by his thought in italie, at the end of the xviiie century, and the way he was received by the intellectual and religious cercles. At last, at the end of the first volume, in the third part, we will tackle the question of the relation between Rousseau's thought and psychology, in the light of some italian critical authors. The second volume wants to analyse the religious thoughts of the genevan philosopher by studying some critical works on Rousseau realized by italian authors who, for the most part, belong to the second half of the xxe century. In the opinion of these authors, we have to consider the centre of the philosophers'thought looking at the religious consciouness of man, and they affirm that Rousseau, in many aspects in his thoughts, requires to transcend the phenomenological field in search of an unitarian and substantial base in human existence. In the fifth and last part, we'll treat the problem of crisis of values, which invested also the contemporary italian society, and we'll try to find a possible heritage of the man of nature proposed by Rousseau

Texte intégralThis thesis, The Identity Question in the Contemporary Sardinian ‘Giallo’. Interpretative Essay, deals with twenty four thrillers published in Sardinia between 1988-2006. They are about or related to social questions and, moreover, to the question of Sardinian identity. This work focuses on three main themes (in seven chapters). Allowing for the study of tipology Sardinian ‘giallo’, the historical and litterary context of contemporary Sardinia, the elements wich constitute the ‘giallo’ itself (the investigator, the place, the circonstances of the crime) and more specifically, the identity issue. The sociological approach was chosen as it seemed the most appropriate way to analyse the island’s specific identity. The novels are studied on their essential level, as it is their realism wich allow them to seize the implications of Sardinian society, in its historical, sociological, and antropological evolution

Texte intégralThe purpose of this dissertation is to analyse the issues pertaining to the theatrical use of audiovisual technologies by Italian theatre, in the course of its experimentation and research over the last forty years. Effectively, Italy occupies a noteworthy position in the European theatrical landscape. Cradle of modern theatre, it possesses a specific theatrical tradition, which upon its encounter with European staging practices (mise en scène) produced unparalleled reactions. During the 1960s, the blossoming of experimental practices lead to the elaboration of a new theatre culture in which visual and sound technologies had an important role. In order to understand these phenomena, we focused on the history of different artistic movements, on the conditions of production and diffusion and on the role of theatre criticism. In combining these aspects with a prolonged analysis of numerous, varied creations (theatre performances, television productions, videos), we attempted to understand the evolution of the motivations, conjunctures, and outcomes of the relation between theatre creators and the technologies. We thus organised the dissertation chronologically, in four periods (1965-1978; 1979-1989; 1990-1998; 1999-2005), which clearly denote the main developments of the technological devices used (analogue, electronic, digital) and of the attitudes adopted by artists. This reconstruction illustrated that the technologies engender an expansion of the field of theatre, the displacement of the stage, the multiplication and the destabilisation of theatre practices. The technologies were revealed not only as a remarkable esthetical phenomenon, but also as a key for understanding contemporary theatre

Using the concepts of generation and 'literary field', she intends to show the very social conditions which make the reception of a foreign literature, in the context of an ever totalitatizing political regime. Moreover, she articulates this aspect with the mechanisms proper to the coining of the specific critical discourse applied to the analysis of foreign literature

Texte intégralThe words relating to parental affiliation. The question of reproduction in modern Italy: the evolution of the rules and terminology in the field of family law. From parental affiliation... to « new » types of parental affiliation: in our dissertation we have retraced the most important changes which took place during the last ten years (1999-2009/10), looking at links between children (minors) and parents. Our inter-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary approach gave us the possibility of offering an explanation of this major societal phenomenon as well as to analyse the most important characteristics, from three standpoints: legal, terminological and societal. Thanks to the study of the development of the detailed rules of Italian law with a special emphasis on the different types of family today, and of the various forms of modern parental affiliation, we have identified a « macro-language » specific to these « new » types of parental affiliation and families, composed of many « micro-languages » (from the viewpoints of adoption, medical assistance with conception and surrogacy of maternity, parenting and parenthood, and families). We have used (legal, sociological, psychological, media, etc.) terms as a mirror and as a magnifying glass to analyze questions such as the rights (not) accorded to the new filiative, parental and family situations; the identity (re-)construction of the children and the people playing the role of parents in these new situations; the freedom and the (ir)responsibility of the individuals, the States and society when facing changes in the relations within the family. Parental affiliation has gone from having a private, individual and intimate dimension, to a public and political dimension, in a national, European and even international context. Our reflection thus covered Europe, and the possibility of the implementation at the same time of a European family law with standardized, common terminology

Texte intégralThe following research proposes an in-depth study of representations of disability in the French and Italian novels for young adults written in the last thirty years, especially from the 1980s, the golden age of young adult literature, by bringing into light the main features and issues its writings are based on.In particular, by going beyond the simple literary analysis of representations of this diversity specific to the human condition, this thesis aims to point out the ideological, social, political, philosophical and pedagogical intentions of this production, according to a historical and comparative path between French and Italian literatures. Thanks to this transversal perspective, it shows how the representations of disability in both literary productions have undergone changes in line with their historical and cultural contextualization, taking into account the legal and social concept of handicap.By being a possible starting point for a better understanding of the subject, literature can be a useful tool to help the young adult reader to approach the notion of disability, by overcoming the notion of difference and promoting the one of otherness

Texte intégralThis thesis is devoted to the genocide and the image of the death-camps survivor in the works of contemporary jewish-italian writers, like primo levi, giorgio bassani, giorgio voghera, natalia ginzburg, carlo levi and umberto saba. The survivor, an autobiographical or fictional character, who is associated to certain symbols and archetypes, is described, with his difficulties to reintegrate society, his irrational guilt complex towards the dead, and his choice to live on which he finally makes. The confrontation with the torturer, the relations between fascism and the italian jews, the behaviour of both oppressors and victims are also studied. Finally the repercussions of the genocide in the religious field, the jewish identity and the degree of assimilation of these writers and their relations with the state of israel as well are analyzed. The conclusion takes into account the necessity felt by the death-camps survivors to bequeath their testimony to future generations, in order to oppose the action of those who deny history, so that the memory of auschwitz be preserved

Texte intégralA study of the work of italo calvino in the context of the theoretical developments which took place in italy and france from the 1950's and the birth of the nouveau roman onwards, and with particular reference to the work of roland barthes. The evolution of calvino's fiction and critical work is seen as resulting from a complex set of determinations. The study identifies three broad stages : writing offers first a model of reality, then a proliferation of imaginary models, and finally a series of metaphorical fragments. Calvino's work is shown to be highly representative of contemporary writing in that it searches for new directions and new meanings, attempting to find an answer to the question raised by claude ollier : "quel recit possible a present ?"

Texte intégralThis PhD thesis examines Italian contemporary literary works (novels and short stories) in which dialect is used as a linguistic variety in combination with the national Italian idiom. The analysis is conducted through the works of four Italian writers, in which multilingualism is particularly significant: Andrea Camilleri, Salvatore Niffoi, Laura Pariani and Andrej Longo. Taking into account the complex linguistic situation of Italy, the thesis focuses on the translation of these works characterized by the co-existence of two different linguistic systems. Through an examination of the colourful mixture of linguistic varieties and the function of dialect in these contemporary texts, the thesis aims to make a contribution to the field of Translation Studies and of History of modern and contemporary Italian Literature (examining in particular linguistic and stylistic aspects). It begs the question of the reproducibility of the linguistic mosaic created by these Italian authors in their French translations. Translation of dialect and linguistic varieties, intended as a non-standard language usage in contemporary Italian literature, represents a challenge for countries (in this case France) in which diglossia has disappeared. However, the author argues that the use of certain regional French dialects enables to recreate the defamiliarization effect of the original Italian texts

Paris 4, 1997. http://www.theses.fr/1997PA040162.
Texte intégralThe purpose of the present thesis is to analyze and exemplify the polysemic nature of the Italian lexeme “lavorare” and the French 'equivalent' “travailler” by examining their behavior in corpora of the two respective languages. The methodological approach adopted builds on Jacqueline Picoche's work on lexical semantics, which in its turn is based to a considerable extent on Gustave Guillaume's theory of the 'psycho-systématique' of language. Through various types of experiment, the aim has been to view discourse in terms of its concrete instances and their 'effects', and to re-identify their marked collocations as thought constructs actualized in speech. An attempt has also been made to gauge the intelligibility, of such constructs, and to test their expressive pertinence. The underlying meaning of the lexeme thus emerges chronogenetically through the observation of a backward and forward movement between concrete and abstract levels of perception of the thought under construction. This occurs in a series of moments perceived successively and whose complex rationalized chronology reveals the internal dynamics of the construction of meaning and the multiplicity of systems by which it is realized

Texte intégralDuring the sixties, artists chose video to try out a new medium with a new way to comprehend representation and figuration. Since the end of the nineties, video technique has changed and artists have worked new subjects. Indeed, the evolution of religion in modern society raised both political and social issues that are expressed in video art. Based on two countries with Catholic tradition, this doctoral thesis demonstrates that French and Italian videoartists create, with religious themes, a new way to observe the world of the XXIst century, giving spiritual and cultural bearings which are scattered in this era of overconsumption. Thanks to this technique related to the immaterial, video artists also show a desire to pass on rites and beliefs in order to respond to a quest of spirituality and wonder

Balderas-Laignelet, Christelle. « La poésie comme sublimation du vécu. Pour une étude de l'œuvre de Sandro Penna ». Thesis, Montpellier 3, 2010. http://www.theses.fr/2010MON30051.
Texte intégralThis thesis deals with the work of the Italian poet Sandro Penna and intends to be a critical and chronological reading and analysis. Penna stands apart from the poetical movements of his time; therefore most of his poems and prose narration works are very short and present a timeless view of Life mainly focused on love for young men (from 13 to 16 y.o). From his very first writings this topic is recurrent and obsessional. This is the reason why it is difficult to establish his work as “an autobiographical novel in verse”. Consequently the collections Poesie, Confuso sogno, Peccato di gola. (Poesie al fermo posta) and Un po’ di febbre are analysed in order to relate the uncommon Penna’s personal path and to confirm that love for young men expresses a more universal love for Life. In this “out of time” life an echo of voices of his coevals, such as Saba, Montale, Ungaretti and Pasolini and of his predecessors like Leopardi and Pascoli can be heard. Two aims appear in the poetical and existential quest by Penna: - restoring a harmonious dialog with the Beginning (which is considered as the myth of the original childhood from which memories are immediately absorbed by the spleen of Modernity); - seeing human life as an infinite cycle. From this viewpoint, Platon and Nietzsche’s works, which were well known by Penna, allow us to go further into this questioning through which the poet succeeds in sublimating Real Life

Texte intégralThis doctoral thesis analyzes a specific cultural object, the songs by singer-songwriters in Italy, between 1958 and 1980. The chosen methodological approach, cantology, consists in crossing analysis of text, music and interpretation. The study also looks at links between songs and Italian cultural and social context in which they were created, as well as and influences from other cultures, with francophone and anglophone songs. The first part provides a series of benchmarks to seize this object. Redrawing emergence of the neologism "cantautore" and expression "canzone d’autore" allows to precisely define the field. Historical perspective is given, as well as geographical and biographical elements regarding the authors of the corpus. The second part gathers methodological and aesthetic reflections, by offering a synthesis of innovative and multidisciplinary approaches which allow not to reduce the study of the song to that of its text, thus avoiding yet too frequent assimilation with poetry. An analysis comparing singable and non-singable translations shows how writing music deeply affects writing texts. The third part analyzes the major innovations introduced in the song in these two decades : at first considering thematic content changes with regard to the Italian legislative changes, then focusing inside of the song, and finally studying the layout of these songs. This path leads to the study of song genre interactions with other languages, through forms including image, such as film or rock opera

Texte intégralAs part of the current historiography of the cultural studies of international relationships, this thesis questions the role of artistic exchanges in Franco-Italian diplomatic relations, from the aftermath of World War II to the beginnings of European construction. The analysis of exhibitions held by the Cultural Services of the French and Italian Ministries of Foreign Affairs, respectively in Italy and France, highlights the balance of power and the keys to the Franco-Italian reconciliation after 1945. The reconstruction of national identities, their representations and their circulations in both sides of the Alps are questioned in the particular context of the Cold War leading to the rise of a new form of European cultural diplomacy. We focus, firstly, on the modalities of institutional and ideological transition before and after World War II, introducing elements of interruptions and continuities. We then analyze the "militant" exhibitions, main focus of tensions and strong geopolitical issues in the international stage. Finally, we show the emergence of recurring patterns and exhibition typologies which address the need for diplomatic balance pursued by the French and Italian governments in the formation of cultural Europe after 1945

Texte intégralEating is not only the answer to a physiological need; it is not only a natural fact but also a cultural one. The choice of a food, its preparation, its sharing and therefore its transformation into food are part of a very complex system, a language that transforms food into a true sign. As such, "food" means "other of oneself"; it reveals connections with the cultural universe, with social, individual and collective reality; it constitutes a pole of aggregation of different identities and it manifests all its different nuances through literature. While it is true that the novel is based on the representation of reality, it is also true that a fundamental part of this reality is often constituted by food and the rituals that accompany it. In this sense, the novel can offer particular and always different perspectives - table scenes, food descriptions, meal preparation, eating characters - all passages that must be analyzed. Moreover, the relationship to food, based on cultural and symbolic constructions, is much more complex when it comes to women because the relationship between women and food is more complex. It is not a question of accepting to transform cooking and meal preparation as an adherence to a feminized world, but of questioning the relationship between the image of food and the female sphere, of wondering if the functions and representations of cooking and the table change when the narrator is a woman, to reflect on the subversiveness of the food image in relation to the male universe, to pose this topos emerging in the stories of female authors, useful to configure some female characters in a new role and to think about them and otherwise. In order to answer the questions, we decided to limit our research to four authors, each representative of an era: Matilde Serao for the early 20th century, Natalia Ginzburg for the Second World War period, Clara Sereni for the 1970s and 1980s, and Rossana Campo for the very contemporary era, and we have analyzed the main works in which the images of the table and the kitchen emerged in a significant way in particular moments and passages, even beyond the time of the meal and in which the depictions of a female subjectivity in the making emerged, in search of an identity

Texte intégralENGLISH: On this work we want to give a definition about “Italian Migrant Literature”. There is a difference between writers came in Italy before or after the migration’s fluxes on the 80’s. With this social and cultural changes, Italy became immigration country. First, migrant writers used a standard language, to have a big public and to talk about migration. Last works are more interesting because they use a plurilingualism that can show the relationship between oral and write. Finally, Postcolonial Italian writers and Second Generation writers make a connection with the literary situation in the other countries (France, Germany, Britain, United States).

Texte intégralHistory of Corsica must be considered from the point of view of the interior of the island as well as the outside of it.Although Genoa and the French metropolis have been centres of interest for historical studies, Rome and its surrounding territories have not been subjected to a precise analysis of the migrant and/or established insular community. The scientific literature remains fragmentary (although very relevant and enlightening, notably through the productions of Professor Anna Esposito) The corsican community in Rome remains unknown, while the migratory phenomenon towards this sector is among the oldest between the island and the peninsula. Corsicans, suffering from economic, social and political internal pressures, have developed a certain mobility towards the Terra ferma. Among all the centers of migration and places of settlement, Rome constituted a major pole, especially from the fifteenth century. Thus, we tried to define the motivations of the departure of the islanders but also the conditions of installation in the city and its periphery. This study allowed us to make emerge the social representation given collectively to Corsicans, namely a violent and difficult to control population, especially in peri-urban areas. The first settlement of the islanders in the periphery of Rome is dated, by the Liber Pontificalis, of 847 A.D. and the pontificate of Leo IV. From the fifteenth century onwards, archival data became more important, especially as regards trade between Rome and the island. We have thus established demographic statistics from various elements such as the archives of the acts of catholicity of the Basilica of San Crisogono (Trastevere) preserved at the Archivio Storico Diocesano, the Descriptio Urbis census of 1526 and the documents in the private archives of the arciconfraternita di Santa Maria del Carmine Mater Dei.These demographic elements, combined with the data presented through a number of notarial deeds, from the Archivio di Stato di Roma, have allowed us to sketch the portrait of a mostly poor community and little present in the socioeconomic categories. Most successful professionals in the territory. By number, the Corsicans thus represent one of the first foreign nations in this cosmopolitan city (among the Spaniards, the Lombards...).The inner city allows the nationals of the island community to integrate in a more perceptible way through the poles of sociability, especially brotherhoods, opening them social and economic spaces in which they fit

Texte intégralThis thesis analyzes the multiple facets of the migratory experiences of Ivorians who arrived in Europe between the end of the 1990s and the end of the years 2000s. This work is based on a transnational and comparative approach and takes place in three different settings: Ivory Coast, France, and Italy. Although rooted primarily in the discipline of anthropology, this study also draws on several other disciplines such as sociology, history of migration, human geography, philosophy, and immigration law.Over the course of multisite ethnographic surveys, carried out between 2007 and 2013 in the Parisian region, in Naples and Parma, as well as in Abidjan, I have conducted long-term observations and collected numerous life histories and accounts of migration. The complexity of migratory routes undertaken by migrants is discussed in this study, as well as the development of their existential trajectories. We have described the profiles of these migrants, going beyond the categories assigned to them by the state policy, and focusing on the evolution of their lives in Europe.Particular attention was paid to the mechanisms of reproduction of contemporary Ivorian migration, which depend not only on the crises that have struck Ivory Coast since the end of the 1990s, but also on the power of the imagined and idealized West. This imagined ideal that has been built over the course of history, through the relations maintained by Ivory Coast and France during the colonial and postcolonial era, continues to develop in the present time, through representations on the media and the physical and material returns in the form of money transfers and revenues by immigrants already settled in the West. We have defined this migration as a "contemporary ritual", for which certain phases, specific to initiation rites, take place in the societies of origin, and are identifiable, although revisited in larger spatial and temporal frameworks. Two places in particular were the privileged sites of my investigations: the former Maison des Etudiants de Côte d'Ivoire in Paris, and the “ghetto” of “old houses” in via dell'Avvenire in Pianura, a district of Naples. Both served were squatted by many of these migrants and evicted in 2008 and in 2010, respectively. In the context of social marginalization stemming from European migration policies over the course of recent decades, which clearly operate against migrants from so-called “poor” countries, these sites turned out to be real social laboratories through which migrants have developed multiple practices of "dynamic resistance", practices created and implemented in order to re-build themselves and their lives and bypass different types of obstacles. These forms of dynamic resistance stem from the symbolic and constant dialogue that Ivorian migrants maintain with the cultural and social universe of their country of origin, and which helps them to reformulate and invent new ways of adapting to the new environments encountered during migration. The last part of the study deals with the work of Ivorian associations founded by migrants in France and Italy, in particular the hometown associations and those whose membership is defined by national origin. By describing their different missions, the modalities of their activities, and the meanings that members assign to their participation, these social productions bear witness to another intimate aspect through which the transnational dimension of Ivorian migration is expressed
