Résumé :
Abstract Annual seasonal average ice cover from 1973 to 2002 and associated dates of first ice, last ice, and ice duration are presented and discussed. The annual seasonal average ice cover of each Great Lake is used to define three ice cycle classes: mild, typical, and severe. About half of the severe ice cycles occurred from 1977 to 1982 and about half of the mild ice cycles occurred from 1998 to 2002. The seasonal progression of daily lake-averaged ice cover, spatial differences in ice cover, and differences among the Great Lakes for mild, typical, and severe ice cycles are discussed within

Cylinder cover is an important component of the engine. It is damaged by low cycle thermal fatigue, high cycle thermal fatigue and creep in operation. Thus, the life and reliability of the cylinder cover are important criteria for engines. The temperature field and stress field of the cylinder cover are computed by the sequentially coupled analysis method: the elastic strain, plastic strain and creep strain of the dangerous point on the cylinder cover are analyzed in ten startup-working-shut down cycles; and it is proved in theory that low cycle thermal fatigue is the primary factor affecting

Compared to CCLs, which comprise various layers, including vegetation, erosion soil layers, and barrier liners, EGMs offer benefits such as reduced resource use. There are several risks associated with cover systems, ranging from climate-related shocks or stressors such as earthquakes, droughts, and floods to local shocks such as excessive differential settlement due to the uneven degradation of waste mass. The existing design of cylinder head requires long manufacturing cycle time. So we decided to apply the knowledge from our course study with some additional information and tried to reduce the cycle time of a cylinder head cover. Human transformation of the Earth’s land surface has far-reaching and important consequences for the functioning of hydrological and hydrochemical processes in watersheds. In nowadays land-use change from forest to pasture is a major issue in particular in the tropics. A sustainable management of deforested areas requires an in-depth understanding of the water and nutrient cycle. On this basis we compared the involved hydrological pathways for rainfall to reach streams and the nutrient budgets of a tropical rainforest and a pasture. The land surface and atmosphere interact through complex feedback loops that link energy and water cycles. Effectively characterizing these linkages is critical to modeling weather and climate extremes accurately. Seasonal variability in vegetation growth and human-driven land cover changes (LCC) can alter the biophysical properties of the land surface, which can in turn influence the water cycle. We quantified the impacts of seasonal variability in vegetation growth on land surface energy and water balances using ecosystem-scale eddy covariance and large aperture scintillometer observations.

Résumé :
Recent development of autonomous and connected trucks (ACT) has provided the freight industry with the option of using truck platooning to improve fuel efficiency, traffic throughput, and safety. However, closely spaced and longitudinally aligned trucks impose frequent and concentrated loading on pavements, which often accelerates pavement deterioration and increases the life cycle costs for the highway agency. Also, effectiveness of truck platooning can be maximized only in dedicated lanes; and its benefits and costs need to be properly balanced between stakeholders. This paper proposes a net

Résumé :
The Northern Great Plains Inventory and Monitoring Network (NGPN) began stream channel monitoring in Highland Creek at Wind Cave National Park (WICA) in 2021. This data report summarizes the data collected during the 2021 season pertaining to watershed, reach, and physical habitat. After data are collected for at least four cycles, trends may be reported. This report covers three main areas: 1) Reporting on upland channel characteristics data that may affect habitat such as: land cover, drainage area, and total stream length; 2) Reporting of geomorphic dimensions such as: channel widths, bank

Résumé :
In this paper,we analyze the tail-dependence structure of credit default swaps (CDS) and the global financial cycle for a group of eleven emerging markets. Using a Copula-CoVaR model,we provide evidence that there is a significant taildependence between variables related with the global financial cycle, such as the VIX, and emerging market CDS. These results are particularly important in the context of distressed global financial markets (right tail of the distributions of the VIX) because they provide international investors with relevant information on how to rebalance their portfolios and a

Résumé :
This is the first in a series of annual reports documenting the configuration and performance of the Met Office global wave forecast model. The configuration description covers model physics parameterisations, grid set-up and propagation, and the operational forecasting run cycle. Performance is assessed through verification of model against observations of overall sea-state.

Résumé :
This paper reviews the patterns of sectoral debts and growth and the mechanisms explaining the adverse effects of debt burdens on growth rates. The empirical analysis covers a sample of 55 emerging and frontier market economies. Future economic growth is more sensitive to rising household debt than corporate debt. However, these effects are highly heterogenous across economies and depend on relative income.

Résumé :
The combined deliverables provide tools for incorporating real time pipe current measurements into a remote monitoring protocol to help in an integrated external corrosion management plan for cathodically protected pipelines. The use of continuous remotely collected pipe current measurements optimizes the corrosion protection and improves response time to upset conditions that might otherwise compromise the corrosion control. Résumé :
Cash and voucher assistance (CVA) puts people at the centre of responses and enables Oxfam and other humanitarian actors to think differently and deliver better. CVA is now widely accepted by the humanitarian community as a tool to deliver greater choice, flexibility, and empowerment to those affected by crisis, while strengthening local markets and systems. This document provides Oxfam, partners, and other teams exploring CVA modalities, with a structured overview and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the design and delivery of CVA. The guidance updates the previous Oxfam Cash and Mark
