Texte intégralThis thesis explores the relationships between stage costume and British historical culture in the period 1776-1834. Until the painstakingly researched antiquarian stagings of the mid-nineteenth century, the history of historical stage costume has typically been described in terms of a stereotyped ‘Van Dyck dress’. Yet the period witnessed the expansion of antiquarianism and portrait print collecting, the development of the Picturesque and Neo-Gothic aesthetics, the success of historical novels and a general desire to know more about the habits and costumes of the past. This interdisciplinary analysis situates stage costume within the wider visual and historical culture of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Drawing on theatrical material related to the London theatres as well as paintings, engravings, book illustrations, shows and exhibitions, this study argues that the representation of historical stage costume in the visual arts reflects new ways of conceiving and depicting history, in which interest in the everyday life of past periods and a focus on the material and the visual were fundamental. This thesis suggests that ht historical costume in the theatre and its representation in theatrical portraiture played a role in a broader process that sought to define British art and identity

E. , that worn on the urban stage in the 17th century, in order to establish its specificity. The first section of the dissertation will address the context of a society based on appearances, and characterized by specific dress will serve as the conceptual framework within which to focus more specifically on the question of the theatrical costume, and on that of its competing with the social costume. .

Texte intégralThis thesis unfolds the aspects of the construction of Porto Alegre city´s imaginary within the contents of the film Sal de Prata, directed by the Rio Grande do Sul´s filmmaker, Carlos Gerbase, in 2005. From the possible paths given by Comprehensive Sociology, interconnected with Michel Maffesoli and Massimo Canevacci´s thoughts, we understand that the notions of imaginary can be related with the concept of communicational metropolis. Through images and other codes presented by the film Sal de Prata, the path is structured, identifying different enviroments and situations that lead to the city´s imaginary. Registrations about geography, habits adopted by the population and the city´s infrastructure are relevants at the film narrative, since they reveal characteristics of Porto Alegre city – elementary substracts for the development of this research.
Este trabalho desvenda os aspectos da construção do imaginário da cidade de Porto Alegre inseridos no conteúdo do filme Sal de Prata, dirigido pelo cineasta gaúcho Carlos Gerbase em 2005. A partir dos possíveis caminhos dados pela Sociologia Compreensiva, interligando-os ao pensamento de Michel Maffesoli e Massimo Canevacci, entende-se que as noções de imaginário podem estar vinculadas ao conceito de metrópole comunicacional. Através das imagens e de outras linguagens apresentadas no filme Sal de Prata estrutura-se o caminhar identificando diferentes ambientes e situações que remetem ao imaginário da cidade. Registros sobre a geografia, os hábitos adotados pela população, a infra-estrutura, são relevantes na narrativa fílmica já que identificam características da cidade de Porto Alegre – substratos elementares para o desenvolvimento desta pesquisa.

Esta dissertação dedica-se à análise do ?gauchismo? manifestado no universo online, a partir da criação e do compartilhamento de conteúdo na internet, e também offline, seja representando o continuum entre as duas realidades ou seguindo as redes que se desdobram destas experiências. Para compreender o campo de pesquisa a que este trabalho está restrito, o texto perpassa questões como a autorreferência e as nomenclaturas fundamentais para os interlocutores da pesquisa, além da descrição e análise das diferentes ?vertentes? ou ?áreas? do gauchismo, como o ?tradicionalismo?, o ?nativismo? e o ?tchê music?. A diáspora gaúcha e a expansão do tradicionalismo levam a outra observação do campo: a aproximação de saudosismo, religiosidade e controle do comportamento, que também integram o campo de pesquisa no âmbito do ciberespaço.
Abstract : This dissertation is dedicated to the analysis of "gauchism" manifested in the online universe, starting from the creation and content sharing on the Internet, and also offline universe, representing the continuum between the two realities, or following the networks that unfold from these experiences. To understand the research field to which this work is restricted, the text goes through issues such as self-reference and the crucial nomenclature for the research interlocutors, it goes beyond the description and analysis of the different "sections" or "areas" of gauchism, as ?traditionalism?, ?nativism? and ?tche music?. The gaucho diaspora and the expansion of traditionalism leads to another field observation: the approximation of nostalgia, religiosity and behavior control, which are also part of the research field in the cyberspace context.
