Résumé :
The article focuses on the important role of production in the social life. One of the aspects of its consideration is the ideology of production. The complexity of modern production systems describing associated with the development of automation, with the increasing importance of social engineering causes an increase in the uncertainty of optimization-oriented models. Solving the problem of increasing complexity requires the application of a harmonization approach to the organization of production. It is proposed to use a producer-product approach to the analysis of production. Developing the tasks of production activity can be seen in the form of a sequence of “spiritual production - the establishment of needs - the formation of consumer goods - material production”, taking into account the fact that spiritual production provides verbal rules of behavior that reflect the moral and moral foundations that are most common in society. The sequence is based on two types of decision making in production related to the attitude to needs - hedonic and responsible. According to these types, two approaches to building production based on the principle of maximization (optimization) and the principle of harmonization, respectively, are formed. It has been stated that the product-producing approach to the analysis of production is identical to both the principle of harmonization and the principle of maximization and provides a solution to the problems of developing production both on the basis of hedonistic and responsible ideologies. To solve the problem of creating an ideology of harmonious production it is proposed to develop a new complex system including the rules of conduct, consumption standards and types of material production. It is recommended to form the ideology of harmonious production, using a single worldview, built on a responsible principle. In the development of production, including from the standpoint of efficiency, a responsible ideology has an advantage over a hedonistic ideology, which is associated with an orientation towards the realization of needs related to life support and the implementation of individual production.

The changes in organizations appear as a reaction to the organizational environment changes. In order to manage these changes successfully, the managers need to anticipate and design alternative strategies by preparing different options. Nevertheless, the complexity of the global environment forces the managers to adopt strategies for their organizations that are facilitating the creation of new strategic competences and competitive advantages to face the environmental rapid changes. In this context, this paper is aiming to illustrate the main directions the change management may consider to change the organization strategies in order to harmonize them to the external environment, such as: integration versus externalization, flexible specialization and flexible organization, standardization versus adaptation, market segmentation, relationship building and maintaining and communication integration. However, the new strategies are based on a changed attitude of the managers towards the competitive advantage that is dynamic and focused on creation rather then to operations.

The purpose of this paper is to describe the position and management of conflict in educational organizations. it is a way of maintaining harmonious relationships at school. Harmonious relationships at school will make the learning environment comfortable and conducive to the learning process. Harmonious relationships at school will make the learning environment comfortable and conducive to the learning process. And vice versa, if the relationship between members of educational organizations is disharmonious, it can lead to an uncomfortable learning environment. This disharmonious relationship is usually caused by conflicts between individuals in schools. Conflict can become a serious problem in any organization, regardless of the form and level of complexity of the school organization, if the conflict is allowed to drag on without resolution. Therefore, the expertise to manage conflict is needed for every leader of educational organizations Keyword: Position and conflict management, Educational Organization

Résumé :
This article looks at the eighteenth-century ways of thinking about nature in connection with sociability and retirement by juxtaposing some of the poetry of the period with the discourses concerned with gardens and the aesthetics of garden design. In the writings of Anthony Ashley Cooper, 3rd Earl of Shaftesbury, Joseph Addison, William Gilpin, Elizabeth Montagu, and William Shenstone, the interest in the value of retirement as a much-needed respite from polite society is accompanied with some concern about the dangers of inactivity and idleness. Nature is thus supposed to offer an appropriately shaded, harmonious environment that provides spiritual reinvigoration and cultivation of taste, away from the tumult of urban crowds. In the poetry of Thomas Gray and William Blake, in turn, one may notice the evocation of nature as a more disturbing force, which, rather than merely confirming to the taste for harmony, seems to challenge some of the premises of polite culture. Paying attention to aesthetic thought, cultural history and poetic discourse, the article provides some insights into the complexity of the eighteenth-century aesthetics of nature.

Résumé :
Deep convolutional neural network (DNN) has demonstrated phenomenal success and been widely used in many computer vision tasks. However, its enormous model size and high computing complexity prohibits its wide deployment into resource limited embedded system, such as FPGA and mGPU. As the two most widely adopted model compression techniques, weight pruning and quantization compress DNN model through introducing weight sparsity (i.e., forcing partial weights as zeros) and quantizing weights into limited bit-width values, respectively. Although there are works attempting to combine the weight pruning and quantization, we still observe disharmony between weight pruning and quantization, especially when more aggressive compression schemes (e.g., Structured pruning and low bit-width quantization) are used. In this work, taking FPGA as the test computing platform and Processing Elements (PE) as the basic parallel computing unit, we first propose a PE-wise structured pruning scheme, which introduces weight sparsification with considering of the architecture of PE. In addition, we integrate it with an optimized weight ternarization approach which quantizes weights into ternary values ({-1,0,+1}), thus converting the dominant convolution operations in DNN from multiplication-and-accumulation (MAC) to addition-only, as well as compressing the original model (from 32-bit floating point to 2-bit ternary representation) by at least 16 times. Then, we investigate and solve the coexistence issue between PE-wise Structured pruning and ternarization, through proposing a Weight Penalty Clipping (WPC) technique with self-adapting threshold. Our experiment shows that the fusion of our proposed techniques can achieve the best state-of-the-art ∼21× PE-wise structured compression rate with merely 1.74%/0.94% (top-1/top-5) accuracy degradation of ResNet-18 on ImageNet dataset.

Harmonious development of environmental protection and economy is a realistic choice made in specific national situation for economic development and environmental protection. It has some kind of complexity. However, large and medium-sized cities develop very fast and the problem of environmental pollution becomes more and more obvious. Thus, how to effectively coordinate the paradox between economic development and environmental protection in large and medium-sized cities and achieve the good cyclic double-win between economic development and ecological environment are the main contents of this paper.

Résumé :
Despite considerable studies in the field of second language acquisition (SLA), the precise cognitive processes occurring in an adult’s mind during second language (L2) learning remain elusive. This study investigates the intricate process of adult’s SLA, specifically focusing on Maltese. Grounded in chaos/complexity theory (C/CT), the research explores the non-linear, dynamic, and unpredictable nature of language learning, likening it to the emergence of order in seemingly chaotic systems. The study employs a qualitative approach, by employing various data collection methods such as structured tests, reflective journals, and interviews to track the learning progression of 35 adults learning Maltese over 15 months. The emphasis is on the acquisition of Maltese verbs and the emergence of non-linear learning curves, akin to the butterfly effect in C/CT. The findings underscore the chaotic yet harmonious nature of Maltese language learning, providing valuable insights for educators and learners alike.

From the repeated application of the sum operator to certain sequences, regarding their length (called period), interesting behaviors and recurrent mathematical properties are observed. Some observations were made by Anatol Vieru himself in [18]: he observed that the period of sequences generally tends to increase when applying the sum operator, and for some sequences it still remains a power of 2. In addition, for specific sequences, there are values that tend to proliferate. The first mathematical formalization was made by D.T. Vuza in 1982 ( [19]) and in [2] were presented the fundamental results on the decomposition into idempotent and nilpotent sequences (called reducible and reproducible respectively). In[4] the problem of the proliferation of certain values in sequence primitives [2, 1, 2, 8, 4, 4, 8] P12 was studied in a computational way was studied. More recently, in [13] the formalism of automata (cellular automata) has been used to study the dual properties of the operator . Here we summarize the theory of periodic sequences with modular valuesdeveloped so far and present the results obtained on the period of primitives and on the proliferation of values. The main results (Lemma 1.3.5, Proposition 1.5.10, Theorems 1.5.6, 1.5.9 and 2.2.1, Section 2.3.2, Section 2.4) are part of a joint work with Luisa Fiorot and Alberto Tonolo (see [8, 9]). Persistent homology has been used in mathematical and musical research, in order to link the topological characteristics of barcodes to the musical properties of data sets. In particular, in [23] the persistent homology is used with the Tonnetz for automatic classification of styles. In [24], the Vietoris-Rips filtration is used to calculate the persistent homology of a musical score and to display the thematic characteristics of musical pieces. As in [23], the objective is to reconstruct the harmonic properties (harmonic density) of chord sequences associated with music pieces. We use two musical databases ([33, 26]) which contain the harmonic analysis of the Beatles corpus and several classical music corpus respectively. Compared to [23], we abandon the Tonnetz in favor of a more flexible object: a graph of chords. This allows us to freely modify the relationships between agreements and also to consider non-symmetrical distances between them. This last aspect plays, in our opinion, a central role in harmonic progressions, because it describes well the temporal asymmetry of the human perception of harmony. To construct simplicial complexes on oriented graphs, therefore without having a symmetrical distance, we use Dowker filtration, the advantages of which have been presented in [22, 25]

Eschevins, Anastasia. « Matching beer with food : pairing principles, underlying mechanisms and a focus on aromatic similarity ».

Pairing between beer and dishes emerges as a new trend in France. Beer promoters or gastronomy professionals need to offer high-quality advices in terms of beer and food pairing to their customers. Within this context, the objective of the research was to identify pairing principles and to better understand the underlying perceptual mechanisms. Determinants of food and beverage pairing were first analysed from experts’ discourses. Results showed that food and beverage pairings are governed by perceptual, conceptual and affective features, related to physio-chemical, perceptual and cognitive processes. Experts often mentioned “Aromatic Similarity” as one of the main pairing principles. This “Aromatic similarity” principle consists in matching two products sharing similar aromas. Underlying perceptual mechanisms were then investigated. Results showed that aromatic similarity in food and beverage generally increases harmony and homogeneity and decreases complexity of the match. These effects can be reinforced by orientating the attentional focus on the shared aroma. From a theoretical point of view, this work concludes that beer and food pairing includes sensory dimensions with the search for harmony, as well as symbolic and contextual dimensions. From an applied point of view, this work provides useful information to gastronomy professionals with recent knowledge on perceptual mechanisms underlying food and beverage pairing principles

Abstract William Ellery Channing, Edwards A. Park, Charles Hodge, and Archibald Alexander Hodge Serenity is the distinguishing trait of the God of neoclassical theism. He is serene because he experiences no inner conflict or complexity. All of his attributes, even his judgment of sin, are brought into harmony by his one encompassing trait—his love. And this love makes him serene because it is neoclassical love or, more precisely, benevolence—a harmonious fusion of feeling and reason. The classic statement of this is Edwards Park’s sermon “All the Moral Attributes of God Are Comprehended in His Love.”

Résumé :
Tourism is not necessarily an activity that contributes to the promotion of peace. Well-known testimonies and criticisms point out their adverse effects and consequent rejection, namely in terms of intensive occupation of territories and tampering with local cultures and identities. These harmful impacts undermine the sustainability of tourism, in its complexity (which imply a harmonious but fragile system of interdependent variables, considering the existence of open and universal hospitality) and multidimensionality (because its variables are of a different, but coherent, nature). In this context, sustainability, as necessary and vulnerable, can be easily threatened by immediate economic interests and by significant gaps in civic awareness and the exercise of citizenship by all or part of the tourism protagonists and responsible. Thus, the importance of an education that takes into account the perspective of universal solidarity, which privileges, among others, the contributions of John Dewey's “cultural criticism” and of interactive constructivism.

Résumé :
In this chapter, the authors describe the intrinsic needs to effectively integrate interactive vocal conversations over heterogeneous networks including packet- and circuit- based networks. The requirement to harmonize transport networks is discussed and a foreseen architecture multi -operators and -services is presented. Moreover, envisaged remedies to the ever increasing network complexity are also summarized. Subjective and objective methodologies to evaluate voice quality under listening and conversational conditions are thoroughly described. In addition, software- and emulation- based frameworks developed in order to evaluate and improve voice quality are rigorously described. This chapter stresses parametric model-based assessment algorithms due to their ability to be useful for on-line network management. In particular, the authors describe parametric assessment algorithms over last-hop wireless Telecom networks and packet-based networks. The last part of this chapter describes several management applications which consider users’ preferences and providers’ needs.

Résumé :
Food fraud is an ongoing global challenge that is amplified by the complexity of supply chain networks and fraudsters becoming more innovative in the way they commit fraud. There is a great need for rapid analytical tools that offer broad product screening. Non-targeted methods provide an approach by which a food matrix can be analysed and screened for adulterations. While various developments exist for rapid non-targeted approaches, there are still multiple challenges to overcome. More work is required to validate, harmonise and standardise non-targeted methods and the associated data interpretations. Promising advances include novel technological developments with devices becoming smaller and portable with increased sensitivity. It is undoubtedly that fingerprinting approaches generate huge datasets that need to be stored and utilised as effectively as possible; creating new opportunities for Big data analysis and the Internet of Things – both addressing the need to convert data into insights to act upon.

Résumé :
Abstract Frye and Zelazo present findings that uncover a particular developmental change in young children’s capacities for intentional action. They bring these findings within the purview of two theoretical models-the Cognitive Complexity and Control account (CCC), and the Levels of Consciousness account (LOC). The two models have been claimed to help to explain not only the change discussed in detail in their chapter but a wide range of other findings besides. The special interest of the authors’ present contribution, signalled in its conjunctive title ‘Control’ and ‘Awareness’, resides in its claim to harmonize the two models. LOC postulates four major developmental changes, occurring at around 9 to 12, 21, 30, and 48 months; CCC focuses on changes between 3 and 5 years of age. Frye and Zelazo suggest now that the LOC’s account of a child’s development through infancy meshes with the CCC’s account of development at the pre-school stage.

Résumé :
This introductory chapter argues that consideration of multiple transitions sending communities and countries go through, and assemblage thinking will contribute to a more nuanced understanding of irregular migration from the perspective of sending communities. The chapter considers five co-occurring transitions with differing logics: demographic, political, socio-economic, youth to adulthood, and global. These transitions provide the structural opportunities and constraints which influence migration decision making of prospective migrants, their family and the local community. Assemblage of migration—defined as a process within which various players, including prospective migrants, brokers and traffickers, state officials, formal and informal institutions link in a harmonious as well as competitive fashion to shape outward migration from Ethiopia—is key to understanding the agency of migrants and sending communities. It also helps us to better understand the complexity of migration and its fluidity, i.e., as patterns of migration get re-constructed in response to changes in sending, transit and destination countries. Assemblage thinking captures the agency of actors at different levels, thereby dislodging the disproportionate attention paid to destination countries. Lastly, the chapter introduces the eleven chapters included in the book.

<p>Bridge designers have a great responsibility to the planet and future generations. When designing bridges, we must contribute to addressing the current climate and biodiversity emergency and to the industry's awareness of our dual role in causing and addressing this crisis. Bridge designers also have a great responsibility to the users and perceivers of these crossings, as their scale, exposure, and long life make them have a tremendous visual and social impact. The bridges we design must also be functional, appropriately respond to every constraint, meet every technical criterion, and have a cost appropriate for their scale and complexity. This is an article on holistic bridge design, specifically focusing on how to harmonise, when designing bridges, efficiency from a carbon footprint perspective with beauty, so the design of such emotive, prominent, and enduring constructions improves the quality of the built world in multiple ways.</p>

Résumé :
The terms “manager” and “management” are frequently used in the daily communication. Given the universality trait of management, then every type of organization needs managers and man- agement. Principles of management have remained solid over time, and over all organization- al types. Fundamentals are fundamentals; what changes is the organizational mission, strategy, structure, and culture. The latter make the specific vocabulary of a defined organization. Thus, if principles have remained unchanged, what has changed is how managers respond to environ- mental dynamics and complexity in face of uncertainty. While technology, in one side has been showing itself as problem solver, on the other side has created new complexity conditions to deal with. This makes present and future more intriguing, while extends an invitation to managers to reflect through new lens. The importance of management is historically related to the territory. Not only, but the first organizational position where the term “manager” found a place was the city. Thus, the denomination “city manager” brings the institution of management back to the city walls. This paper makes an effort to harmonize together history, present, and future of city man- agement from an interdisciplinary perspective. It aims to reconcile the good management practic- es of the city by reviving the past as a timeframe of Chronos and Aion, exploiting the opportunities of the present from a Cairos time perspective, and imagining the future as a miscellaneous time Chronos-Aion-Cairos. This study considers the city as a viable system (i.e., a living territory) and a service system, able to survive and reproduce itself by being a service provider to its citizens. All these exchanges happen in complex feedback loops as facilitated by artificial intelligence and virtual reality. This metaverse perspective makes the case for “city-verse” and the emergent figure of “city-verse manager”.

Résumé :
Physical education in the professional field of private security occupies a key place in the process of training specialists. The complexity of the functional duties performed makes specialists in the field of physical education and sports constantly look for new means and methods of work, introduce existing innovative technologies and theoretical developments of colleagues. In recent years, Ukraine has been actively integrating into the international community, including in matters of standards of physical education and training in the country's law enforcement agencies. The variability of the use of various means of physical education in the field of bodyguards opens up great opportunities for the instructor to work with personnel. When building a program for military personnel, it is important to take into account all factors, namely: the functional tasks of a soldier, anthropometric indicators, training experience, age, etc. etc. In the field of state security of Ukraine, the physical education of future fighters begins at the stage of training in a specialized higher educational institution, where students receive the necessary knowledge for further work with the personnel of the department, as well as for effective special physical training of military personnel throughout their service. The main tasks of physical education, in this case, are: maintaining health, prolonging professional activity and the harmonious development of all motor qualities and functional systems.

Résumé :
Integrative psychotherapy is an orientation in psychotherapy, which appeals to all psychotherapeutic methods including psychotherapies: classic, systemic, cognitive-behavioral, hypnotherapy, analytical psychotherapy, humanistic therapies, etc. The main advantage of integrative psychotherapy is its adaptability to the client’s problem, without the constraint of a relatively limited set of „therapeutic tools”. In integrative psychotherapy, the emphasis is on the psychotherapeutic strategy, the understanding of the problem and the therapeutic relationship. Starting from the systemic conceptualization of the human being, from the body-mind-spirit concept, through the integrative approach a unitary understanding of the complexity of the human being is obtained, in the overall functionality of its manifestations, preserving the vision of the whole, and, at the same time, respecting the uniqueness of the person in the context universal. The concepts of contact in relationships, attachment, states of the Self and the life script are the central concepts of the integrative theory. The term „integrative” refers to the process of personality integration, which involves: - guiding the client to assimilate-awareness and harmonize the contents of his Ego States; - awareness and relaxation of refence mechanisms; - interventions on the script of life; - facilitating contact with the world. By integrating these experiences, people will have the courage to treat every moment of life with an open vision without needing „protection” through arguments, opinions, positions, attitudes or expectations.

Résumé :
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Due to the complexity and timeliness of the dual power source control system for range extended electric vehicles, a real-time predictive fuzzy energy management strategy based on speed prediction, which comprehensively takes into account the demand power of auxiliary power unit, future average speed and driving distance is proposed in this work. Firstly, to improve the topicality and accuracy of the control system, the convolutional neural network with long short-term memory neural network (CNN-LSTM) algorithm is adopted to predict the future driving speed by the speed features and adjacent speeds. Secondly, taking account of the characteristics of the driving conditions for electric logistics vehicles, a three-inputs-one-output fuzzy controller is formulated based on the average predicted speeds, current traveling distance and demand power of the auxiliary power unit, so as to adjust the expected output power to harmonize the fuel consumption, electricity costs for the process of battery charging, discharging and degradation. Besides, the comparative tests are carried out to validate the effectiveness of various control strategies for harmonizing fuel consumption and battery degradation. The results under the World Light-duty Vehicle Test Cycle (WLTC) indicate that compared with the fuzzy control strategy which only takes the current vehicle speed as an input variable and the charge-depleting charge-sustaining (CD/CS) strategy, the total operation cost of the proposed strategy is reduced by 3.04% and 34.44%, respectively. Finally, The robustness and effectiveness of the strategy are verified under various driving conditions, and the real-time performance of the strategy is verified by HIL experiment. Hence, the proposed real-time predictive fuzzy energy management strategy gives out the great control effect on economy improvement and suppression of battery decay for electric extended-range vehicles.</div></div>

Résumé :
Abstract Drilling data quality is notoriously a challenge for any analytics application, due to complexity of the real-time data acquisition system which routinely generates: (i) Time related issues caused by irregular sampling, (ii) Channel related issues in terms of non-uniform names and units, missing or wrong values, and (iii) Depth related issues caused block position resets, and depth compensation (for floating rigs). On the other hand, artificial intelligence drilling applications typically require a consistent stream of high-quality data as an input for their algorithms, as well as for visualization. In this work we present an automated workflow enhanced by data driven techniques that resolves complex quality issues, harmonize sensor drilling data, and report the quality of the dataset to be used for advanced analytics. The approach proposes an automated data quality workflow which formalizes the characteristics, requirements and constraints of sensor data within the context of drilling operations. The workflow leverages machine learning algorithms, statistics, signal processing and rule-based engines for detection of data quality issues including error values, outliers, bias, drifts, noise, and missing values. Further, once data quality issues are classified, they are scored and treated on a context specific basis in order to recover the maximum volume of data while avoiding information loss. This results into a data quality and preparation engine that organizes drilling data for further advanced analytics, and reports the quality of the dataset through key performance indicators. This novel data processing workflow allowed to recover more than 90% of a drilling dataset made of 18 offshore wells, that otherwise could not be used for analytics. This was achieved by resolving specific issues including, resampling timeseries with gaps and different sampling rates, smart imputation of wrong/missing data while preserving consistency of dataset across all channels. Additional improvement would include recovering data values that felt outside a meaningful range because of sensor drifting or depth resets. The present work automates the end-to-end workflow for data quality control of drilling sensor data leveraging advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms. It allows to detect and classify patterns of wrong/missing data, and to recover them through a context driven approach that prevents information loss. As a result, the maximum amount of data is recovered for artificial intelligence drilling applications. The workflow also enables optimal time synchronization of different sensors streaming data at different frequencies, within discontinuous time intervals.
