Résumé :
Cassiterite has been an essential source of tin; its exploration and exploitation have become a priority worldwide. The effective beneficiation of cassiterite depends mainly on its grindability and effective liberation. The Modified Bond's grindability test is a method used to determine the work index, which is crucial in estimating the energy needed to grind an ore. This is crucial during mineral processing, as a slight deviation would affect the company's operating expenditure (OPEX). This study investigates the work index for Farin-Lamba cassiterite with reference to silica sand sourced from Igbokoda. The test ore (cassiterite) was analyzed using Energy Dispersed X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (ED-XRS), Petrographic Analysis, and Scanning Electron Microscope equipped with an Energy Dispersive Spectrum (SEM-EDS) to understand their chemical and mineralogical characteristics in relation to their grindability. The test ore and the reference material (silica sand) underwent comminution using 500g of each to a 100% passing 500 μm array of sieves arranged in (√2) series from 500μm to 63μm onto an automatic sieve shaker. The chemical and mineralogical analysis revealed the presence of gangue such as SiO2 and Al2O3, which increases the energy needed during communition; further, the presence of rough and large grain size in the ore also increases the energy needed for communition. The results were subjected to Gaudin Schuman's equation to determine the ore's work index, which was 14.664 KWh/ton for the test ore, which is standard for cassiterite, which ranges from 10-15 kWh/ton. Further, the energy needed for comminution was calculated to be 33.7272 Kwh, providing valuable insights into the energy efficiency of the grinding process. The evaluation of the grindability of Farin-Lamba cassiterite in relation to the reference ore not only contributes toward understanding the ore processing dynamics but also provides information needed for the optimization of energy consumed during the process of tin oxide production.

The human rights discourse has been justified by the need to move pastthe restrains and impunity that arose from nationalism and citizenshiprights. Although international criminal law has recently been imaginedas the scenario or theatre to reinforce the existence of a ‘political communityof justice’ based on our common humanity, it has not been ableto displace the concept of state sovereignty. This shows how our ‘naturalindifference to others’ is not overcome by the simple use of language,by the subscription of covenants or by the creation of institutions andmechanisms for the adjudication of justice.

Résumé :
The main resources for biomass agro-ecotechnologies are cereal straw residues, energy crops and emergent vegetation from wetlands. The herbaceous biomass is a material with low density (20 – 60kg·m-3) therefore new mobile equipment and technologies for biomass communition and densification have to be worked out. The storage, dosage and mixing before compacting is necessary. Because of this we must have a working knowledge of the bulk properties of materials. The angle of repose was investigated of straw, reed and peat particles. It was stated that angle of repose of straw and reed varies between 54 – 55 degrees. Angle of repose of peat particles varies between 40 – 60 degrees. In a bin filled with solid bulk material this material acts on the walls with the horizontal stress. The stress ratio between horizontal and vertical stress is important for equipment design. This ratio was investigated for different size particles of straw, reed and peat. Stress ratio of straw and reed particles varies between ~0.6 – 0.7.

The present investigation is dealing with the communition of the cement particle to the ultrafine level (~220 nm) utilizing the bead milling process, which is considered as a top-down nanotechnology. During the grinding of the cement particle, the effect of various parameters such as grinding time (1–6 h) and grinding agent (methanol and ethanol) on the production of the ultrafine cement has also been investigated. Performance of newly produced ultrafine cement is elucidated by the chemical composition, particle size distribution, and SEM and XRD analyses. Based on the particle size distribution of the newly produced ultrafine cement, it was assessed that the size of the cement particle decreases efficiently with increase in grinding time. Additionally, it is optimized that the bead milling process is able to produce 90% of the cement particle<350 nm and 50% of the cement particle<220 nm, respectively, after 6.3 h milling without affecting the chemical phases. Production of the ultrafine cement utilizing this method will promote the construction industries towards the development of smart and sustainable construction materials.

Résumé :
AbstractMount Erebus is the most active volcano on the Antarctic continent, and it has the most geographically and physically isolated geothermal soil on Earth. Preliminary genetic analysis of the microbial community present in the 65°C subsurface soil of Tramway Ridge, on Mount Erebus, revealed a unique high temperature ecosystem, with the dominant members possessing little genetic similarity to known bacteria. This study investigated the metabolism and physiology of this intriguing ecosystem using physical-chemical soil surveying, community-based phenotypic arrays, nutritional enrichment experiments and pyrosequencing. Results have provided new insights into the metabolic requirements and putative roles of specific organisms, as well as the significance of specific carbon and nitrogen sources. In enrichment experiments bicarbonate slowed down an otherwise dramatic shift in community structure. This suggests that bicarbonate maintains the native communityin vitroby supplying an essential inorganic compound that is utilized for slow, autotrophic growth. This approach shows potential as a model for future investigations of cultivation resistant thermophilic communities.

This essay focuses on the challenges of implementing effectivemathematics and science programs in in secondary schools in urban Americaand Sub-Saharan Africa. A successful approach for meeting these challengesis considered which has first been introduced by the New Jersey Center forTeaching and Learning. This approach is based on maximizing the connectionsbetween mathematics and science, on developing an open-source software containingthe entire curriculum and loading it into a SMART board computer. Integral to the methodology used is the presentation of questionswith multiple choice answers. The technology implemented enables studentsto see the distribution of their answers (without seeing the correct one), andthe teacher engages them in discussion and debates about the merits of various answers. The success of the educating-the-educators model supported by the implementation ofthe SMART system in both urban America and in The Gambia provides a model that can bereplicated in diverse settings, and thus should be of interest to the world communityof mathematics and science educators.ACM Computing Classification System (1998): K.3.1.

Substantial increases in global energy consumption and depletion o f fossil energy resources demand for development o f alternative energy resources. The more significant part (74%) of renewable energy sources has been planned for biomass energy in European Union. Substitution of fossil feedstocks for energy and materials by biomass is important measure for GHG emission mitigation. Development o f biodegradable polymers, construction materials and organic fertilizers from biomass let us challenge economy to a more sustainable way.Naturally biomass is material of low density therefore new mobile equipment and technologies for biomass communition and densification have to be worked out. Compacted biomass has higher volumetric energy density and can be easier transported and stored than natural biomass.Wheat straw biomass densification experiments have been carried out. Chopped straw with moisture content less 10% has been used for densification. Fine chopping significantly influence compacting density and is more preferable as heating. Cold compacting of fine chopped wheat stalk material with addition o f molasses more than 9% and sapropel more than 18% provide density lg/cm3 without any heating. The same density (Ig/cm3) has been obtained in compacting o f straw and peat composition. These results are useful for briquetting technology design.

Résumé :
The purpose of the article is consist of identification andsummarization the disparate little-known facts of the creative communityof Sergei Prokofiev with Gregory Pyatigorsky and Mstislav Rostropovich, which preceded the creation of the „Concerto for Cello and Orchestra”op. 58 and „Symphony Concert for Cello and Orchestra”, op. 125. Theauthor is determining the reasons of the transformation from the soloconcert genre into a genre of a symphony-concert, taking into account thehistorical and biographical aspect. The research methods are based on theuse of various research approaches. The method of complex musicologicalanalysis is used, synthesizes historical and theoretical aspects andcombines disparate, little-known facts of biographical information. Thecomparative method involving such methods as analysis, synthesis, comparison, allows to reveal the features of the performance interpretationof the works. Axiological approach is the basis where the value criteria ofinterpretation versions are formed. Structurally analytical method is thebasis where the logic of a statement of a material and conclusions ofresearch is formed. The empirical method allows to carrying out the studyof the proposed topic at a practical level. Scientific novelty consists ofargumentation of the fact that the creative community of the composer andperformer is one of the determining factors in the formation of theimmanent properties of the work. For the first time, the development of thecello concert genre in the works of S. Prokofiev was proposed intoanalisys through the prism of the creative tandems of the composer withG. Pyatigorsky and M. Rostropovich. This perspective of the comparativeanalysis of works represents an understanding of the basis for thetransformation of the genre of a solo concert into the genre of a symphonyconcert. The conclusions highlight the importance of creative interactionbetween the composer and the performer. The base from the analysis ofthe two works a namely „Concert for cello and orchestra” op. 58,dedicated to G. Pyatigorsky and its late edition, known as „SymphonyConcerto for Cello and Orchestra” op. 125, dedicated to M. Rostropovich, generalize the specifics of the composer’s creative tandem withperformers, substantiates the hypothesis about the transformation of theConcert genre model (romantic concert model) into the ConcertSymphony (synthesis of the baroque and romantic model). Résumé :
This study aims at findings whether collaborative method can improve students' spoken communition or not. This study use quasi experimental design with Posttest-Only, Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample of this research were student’s of State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Palu. The instrument in this research was speaking English test ability. The tests were carried out in five times with different learning themes. Data analysis was performed by descriptive statistics and inference and presented in the form of percentages, frequency, min and statistical analysis in t test comparison (t-test) and Pearson correlation test. The researcher finds distribution of scores for the students’ spoken communication ability posttest is normal and variance-covariance for the dependent variables is homogeneous across the independent variables. The researcher finds a significant difference between the experimental class taught by a learning model of three theories collaboration and controclass taught by conventional learning model. The result of students] spoken communication ability on first test had higher compared second test. Similarly, also with the students’spoken communication abilities between the second tests with the third test, the third test with the fourth test, and the fourth test with the fifth test was very significant. The researcher also finds increased English spoken communication ability in experimental class. Improvement of spoken communication is due to model of learning English based on collaborative theory

Résumé :
This experimental work aims at studying the effect of particle size on the microwave pre-treatment for the grindability of Bolkardag (Nigde, Turkey) gold ore for cyanide leaching. Three different particle size batches (−8 + 4.7 mm, −4.75 + 2 mm and −2 + 1 mm) were used for microwave treatment. Each sub-samples were exposed to four different power levels of microwave energy (0.09, 0.18, 0.36 and 0.6 kW) at exposure times of 5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes and then grindability characteristic of the treated samples were investigated with Berry and Bruce comparative grindability method. It was clearly seen that increasing power level and exposure time caused a reduction in comparative Bond Work index. A maximum reduction in Bond Work index (73.54%) was achieved by 0.6 kW at 30 minutes of microwave treatment. Compared to the untreated sample’s results, gold and silver extraction rates increased, using microwave-treated samples, about 7% and 9% after 77 hours cyanide leaching, respectively. Additionally, the hydrated lime added samples (after 0.6 kW at 30 minutes of microwave treatment) were used in the cyanide leaching tests to determine the possible effect. It was observed that there was no significant difference on leaching extraction rates using lime free or lime added samples. Applying microwave pre-treatment before cyanide leaching, the gold and silver extraction rates could be increased and also the cost of communition could be reduced due to easier breakage of the ore due to a significant decrease in Bond Work index.

Résumé :
Background: The present study aims to analyse the results of surgical outcome of the operated calcaneal fractures using either plates or cannulated cancellous screws. Recently there has been considerable shift of treatment of calcaneal fractures from conservative to operative owing to better understanding of fracture pattern. However, reduction of long-term functional outcome of such patients is always questionable and remains unanswered. Methods: A 25 fractures were operated with locking plates or cannulated screws after proper assessment. Functional assessment was done using AOFAS scoring system. Radiological outcome was assessed using restoration of Bohler and Gissane angle. Results: The results were extrapolated as excellent in 20 patients, good in 3 patient's and poor result in 2 patients. Statistical analysis revealed better outcomes in percutaneous cannulated screw fixation as compared to open plate fixation. 6 patients had to undergo implant exit of which 5 were cannulated screw backout, prominence irritating the soft tissue and 1 plate removal had to be done because of infection. None of the patients had subtalar arthritis, heel pad problems, peroneal tendinitis or implant failure. Conclusions: Surgical management in the treatment of choice for intra articular calcaneal fractures after thorough evaluation. The choice of implant depends upon the communition of fracture, soft tissue compromise, joint surface incongruity and surgical expertise. Radiological maintenance of Bohler and Gissane angle intraoperatively and at follow up is a good indicator for predicting functional outcomes score.

Résumé :
Why all this interest in the history of international law today? A partial explanation can surely be found from the end of the 20-year period of liberal-internationalist ascendancy (1989–2008) and the perplexity that has followed its demise. Mark Zuckerberg put it succinctly in a manifesto onBuilding Global Communityin Facebook in February 2017. When his company started, he noted, it was to ‘bring . . . us closer together and build . . . a global community’. ‘[T]his idea’, he suggested, ‘was not controversial’. But suddenly there has emerged a ‘movement for withdrawing from global connection’. Nor have international law scholars rested silent. Eric Posner has termed the present moment – with glee – as the ‘backlash’ against ‘liberal cosmopolitanism’. More soberly, perhaps, Philip Alston has noted the rise of ‘challenges [to] the human rights movement’ that are ‘fundamentally different from much of what has gone before’ while James Crawford has warned against ‘large-scale retreat into nativism and unilateralism’. What used to be a clear and broadly shared objective – building of a global community – is no longer so clearly visible. So, the temptation might be to look backwards instead and ask, ‘how did we get here?’.

Résumé :
An interreligious harmony is particularly desired nowadays concerning recent ‘Post Truth’ era where a ‘truth' is challenged to ‘coexist’ altogether as an essential element of mankind. In Indonesia, there are beautiful neighborhoods displaying interreligious peace as a fact should be reflected further to display tolerance embedded within its society. One of these instances is Hamlet of Tegalrejo. This communitry is located in Village of Babadan, Sub-District of Ngancar, Kediri Regency. In this region, both Muslim and Christian communities live in harmony without any notable historical conflict. This research intended to conceal factors of interreligious harmony behind Tegalrejo society in a form of ‘Field Research’ through data analysis of interviews, observation, and documentations. This paper, furthermore, will be ended with an addition of reflection regarding the concept of al-‘Ta’āyush as basis of interreligious harmony in Worldview of Islam. The result of this study is that there are both external and internal factors accomplishing interreligious harmony in Tegalrejo. External factors consist community and family environment altogether with an interrelationship between its occupants. Internal factors, in the other hand, encompass mutual respect and understanding between Tegalrejo community.

Résumé :
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is a global disease, and evidence suggests that its prevalence is increasing. Prevalence estimates show considerable geographic variation.According to WHO, prevalence of GERD in far EastAsia currently consistently lower than 10%,which is 8-20% in India. No such population based dataare available in Bangladesh. Thus, the studywas designed to determine the prevalence of GERD and its risk factors inrural community of Bangladesh. This descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried outfrom January to June 2015 by using validated questionnaire through door to door interview among randomly selected 2000 participants in a rural communityof Bangladesh. A cutoff point 3 was chosen as a valid and reliable scale to confirm GERD. Among the study participants, 1212 were male and 788 were female.Their average age range was 18 to 60 years. A total of 136 participants were found to have GERD symptoms and among them 43 were men and 93 were women. Thus, the prevalence of GERD in the study was 6.8%. GERD was highly associated with higher age group, women, Muslims, and participants withdiabetes mellitus, asthma and overweight.Prevalence of GERD in rural community of Bangladesh is lower than that of the western world. For a better understanding on GERD, it is important that a study should be carried in a representative samples across Bangladesh.Bangladesh Med Res Counc Bull 2018; 44(1):45-51

Résumé :
Fractures of the distal femur remain challenging to treat as satisfactory outcome demands anatomical articular reduction, rigid and stable internal fixation along with early range of motion. The purpose of our study is to evaluate the functional outcome in patients with unstable fractures of the distal femur treated with single versus dual plating.: The study was a prospective study of 40 patients. The study was a prospective study of 40 patients (30 male and 10 female) with unstable fractures of the distal femur admitted to Goa medical college between June 2019 to June 2021 treated with open reduction and internal fixation of the distal femur with locked plates. After admission patients were subjected to routine pre operative evaluation and x-rays along with CT scan with 3 D reconstruction. During surgery, after lateral plating patients were subjected to varus stress test on table. If found to be positive, medial plate was applied. Medial plating was also advocated if medial cortex was found to be deficient due to severe communition or bone loss. Patients were followed up for an average of 10 months and knee function was evaluated evaluated using Sanders Functional Evaluation Knee Score. Out of the 40 patients treated with plating, 24 were treated with single lateral plate and 16 were treated with medial as well as lateral plate. Out of the 16 treated with dual plating, 2 were open fractures treated by staged procedure (lateral plating and subsequent medial plating with iliac crest bone graft via a separate medial incision after a period of 10 weeks following primary surgery). 3 of the patients treated with single lateral plate showed a varus collapse upon weight bearing 12 weeks post op. It was found that dual plating resulted in high union rates, early post op mobilisation due to more rigid fixation and less chances of varus collapse. However, overall when functional.

In talking about Muslim youth movementsin the past and present, one is at the same time looking ahead into thenext millennium: the picture is one of exciting new directions, uncertainty, threat, and promise. In the first part of this paper, I will examine the emergence anddevelopment of Muslim youth organizations in Britain, paying attentionto questions such as their goals, membership, leadership, ethos, andactivities. In the second section, I will assess what needs the differentorganizations appear to be fulfilling and, in this part of the paper, I willfocus on issues relating to ideology, identity, belonging, the future ofIslam, and the resolution of generational conflicts. As the discussionprogresses, some assessment will be made of the significance of the differentMuslim youth groups as elements of the wider Islamic communityin this country and a consideration as to where they fit into the over-allstructure of Muslim activity. It is not my intention to survey every youth movement that has everexisted and what their activities and ideologies have been. Instead, thefocus will be on three major youth organizations, all of which contrastwith each other in quite significant ways, and yet which share somecommon aspirations. The purpose of this study was to determine the meaning of the Silampari kayangan Tinggidance which is maintained by the clear community in the city of Lubuklinggau. This research methodis qualitative with a descriptive approach to interview, observation, documentation, literature study. The subjects in this study consisted of actors and observers of the Silampari Kayangan Tinggi danceusing Roland Barthes' semiotic theory as the theoretical basis of the research entitled the study ofthe semiotics of the high kayangan silampari dance which was maintained by the clear communityin the city of Lubuklinggau. Judging from the denotation of motion in the high kayangan silamparidance, it is a combination of movements by the human body in creating movements that containaesthetic deni in motion, besides that it contains a form of interaction between dance contents thatis poured out by the choreographer to the audience, namely invited guests. In connotation there isa figurative meaning implied in it which contains the values and descriptions of the Lubuklinggaucity community, beliefs, customs and life arrangements and ways of respecting other people. Basedon the results of the research, it is concluded that the Silampari Kayangan Tinggi dance is atraditional dance from the South Sumatra region originating from the City of Lubuklinggau whichhas existed since ancient times and still functions as a welcoming dance for the City ofLubuklinggau. This high kayangan silampari dance was adopted from folklore in Lubuklinggauwhere it is believed to exist but does not know the truth, so the myth in this dance is a myth that hasdeveloped in society from generation to generation.
