Résumé :
Because of increased class sizes, higher staff teaching loads, and inadequate teaching facilities, many marketing faculty have less time to evaluate textbooks effectively. This situation results in text selection processes based on criteria that favor ease of teaching rather than student learning. Since marketing education places great reliance on textbooks as the primary instructional medium, marketing academics must select textbooks using explicit, educationally sound, student-oriented criteria. A method reflecting the most fundamental law of marketing, one that ensures that the chosen texts are easy for students to read and understand, should rate as an important selection process criterion. The cloze procedure has proven to be a highly reliable and valid measure of “understandability.” This study suggests that it is an objective and responsive marketing-oriented technique for selecting marketing textbooks. To demonstrate its use, the technique is used to rank three international editions of principles of marketing textbooks by obtaining scores of understandability from first-year students at one Australian university. These objective scores of understandability, when complemented by other qualitative and quantitative criteria for evaluating textbooks, are very useful for selecting marketing textbooks.

The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for the development of teaching and learning methods for beauty practical education by studying the effect of communication skills of beauty major students on practical class interaction. The data collection was conducted from March 14 to April 17, 2023 on college students majoring in beauty at domestic universities, and a total of 413 copies were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 21.0 program. The research conclusions are as follows. First, students with higher communication skills showed the highest interaction during class. Second, the higher the communication ability, the higher the correlation between class time interaction. Third, linguistic communication skills have been shown to affect interaction. Therefore, as a way to increase interaction, it is necessary to apply subjects and teaching methods that can increase linguistic communication skills. In addition, interactions such as mutual conversation and emotional exchange, listening and rejection, recognition and understanding should be activated by appropriately using textbooks, practical classes, and materials. It is believed that communication skills should be cultivated through various classes such as discussion and presentation as a professional beauty person.

Résumé :
In contemporary society, students’ analytical thinking and reasoning skills are crucial for their future development. The fourth grade (ages 9-10) is a critical stage for cultivating higher-level cognitive skills in students. Mathematics plays a significant role during this period, serving as a fundamental tool for fostering students' analytical thinking and reasoning abilities. Collaborative inquiry-based learning is considered beneficial for enhancing students' analytical thinking and reasoning skills. Therefore, this study aims to design a collaborative inquiry-based instructional model based on the characteristics of mathematics textbooks. The study extensively analyzes primary school mathematics textbooks published by Beijing Normal University and integrates the essential elements of collaborative inquiry-based learning to devise an instructional model tailored to the characteristics of mathematics textbooks. The model comprises six parts: Contextual Introduction (Question 1), Collaborative Inquiry (Question 2), Communication and Sharing (First round), Collaborative Inquiry (Question 3), Communication and Sharing (Second round), Review and Conclusion. The model is designed to assist students in acquiring knowledge through collaborative inquiry, stimulate their curiosity through contextualized learning, improve their analytical thinking and reasoning skills through collaborative inquiry, foster cognitive development through effective communication and sharing, and ultimately solidify acquired knowledge through reflection and conclusion. Theoretically, the analysis suggests that this model may positively impact students’ analytical thinking and reasoning abilities, providing a valuable reference for practical teaching.

Résumé :
The current standards of higher technical education provide for the development of universal competencies of students (groups of competencies “Communication”, “Intercultural interaction”), which should be implemented within the framework of the study of the discipline “Foreign language” and, accordingly, reflected in the content of educational support. As a few decades ago, and today, future engineers and university teachers of foreign languages recognize the inadequacy of teaching foreign language communication only in everyday and professional spheres. The sociocultural approach in foreign language teaching is well characterized in scientific research, and the content of most contemporary school textbooks on foreign languages is saturated with relevant topics and language material. At the same time, the problems of implementing this approach in the content of textbooks for universities, especially technical ones, remain relevant and insufficiently studied. The purpose of the study is to compare, analyze the content of domestic and foreign (authentic) university textbooks in English and German for students of technical universities, published in the current century, for the socio-cultural component of their content (topics, speech material, sociocultural commentary, etc.). In total, the author of the article analyzed 40 textbooks of this direction. The results obtained can be taken into account by the developers of the corresponding university educational literature, teachers of foreign languages of technical universities.

Résumé :
Ukrainian as the state language of an independent European country is the subject of study in various parts of the world, including universities within individual research of Ukrainian studies (for example, Harvard University or the University of Alberta) or Slavic studies (different countries). The latest trends in teaching / learning foreign languages are aimed at: attracting the latest information technologies, quick access to knowledge, taking into account student needs (task-based approach), interpreting language as a tool for career growth or international communication, changing or supplementing the paradigm of language education. Accordingly, the Ukrainian language, which is the object of study outside Ukraine, needs new relevant ways of teaching it as a foreign one, based on the latest quality results of linguistic research of the Ukrainian language, in particular in the functional aspect. The purpose of the article is to analyze the current situation and outline the prospects for teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language outside Ukraine (in particular, based on the study of the experience of teaching it in Austria and Germany). The tasks are to carry out a comparative analysis of textbooks of the Ukrainian language for German speakers, to outline the scope of current problems related to the teaching of the Ukrainian language outside Ukraine. This was made possible by the descriptive method, and the functional approach made it possible to trace the conformity of teaching materials with modern requirements and needs of students. Textbooks for German-speaking students are designed for the Beginners level and implicitly take into account the information that for students it is the second Slavic language (usually after Russian). The studied textbooks have a diverse quality of language content (usually intended for beginners, but cover topics, grammatical material, communicative situations from higher levels) and are based on the grammartranslation method (except Klymenko Lina, Kurzidim Jan. Razom (2008); Schubert Ludmila, Ukrainian for beginners and fortresses (2012). It was found that there are no student`s book, teacher`s book, workbook, audio materials, which together according to the stages of training (levels A1-C2) would consistently provide a clearly divided language materials and propose communication skills, taking into account on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, teaching, assessment (2020) and Standardized requirements. Levels of proficiency in Ukrainian as a foreign language (A1-C2). High-quality linguistic resources of the Ukrainian language (for example, functional grammar of the Ukrainian language, dictionaries of collocations, lexical minimums), taking into account the latest approaches to learning foreign languages, would not only raise students' motivation, but also contribute to greater competitiveness of the Ukrainian language in a modern globalized society.

Zuma, Khanya Philani. « Marketing communication of career opportunities for students in the South African space industry ». Thesis, 2017. http://hdl.handle.net/10321/2918.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
Submitted in fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Management Sciences Specialising in Marketing, Durban University of Technology, Durban, South Africa, 2017.
The South African Space Industry is growing rapidly but is lacking in commercialization. Based on the literature review, the industry is not introduced to citizens at the stage at which they begin to plan their careers. Many learners venture into careers due to peer influence and choose careers that they do not have knowledge of. There are also barriers to communication between the industry and the Department of Higher Education, as shown by the fact that there are few high school students who have progressed to participate in the space industry. The main aim of the study was to explore high school students’ awareness of the South African space industry; how career opportunities have been promoted to these students; and what has influenced such awareness, or lack thereof. The objectives of the study were to identify students’ levels of awareness of the South African space industry; to identify students’ perceptions of employment opportunities in the South African space industry; to identify the knowledge of the educational requirements to gain employment in the space industry; to determine the demographic differences of levels of awareness of the space industry in South Africa (male/female, grades 10, 11 and 12, types of schools); and to identify the marketing communication factors that influence students’ levels of awareness about the South African space industry. A quantitative, descriptive study was employed, and structured questionnaires were administered to 171 respondents. Purposive and quota sampling methods were used for the study. The SPSS statistical package (version 23 for windows) was used to analyze the data. The study was conducted in selected high schools located in rural, urban and sub-urban areas within the EThekwini municipality region. In terms of validity, relevant statistical tests were undertaken to ensure the validity and reliability of the instrument. Confidentiality and anonymity was ensured. In term of ethical issues, permission was granted from the KwaZulu Natal Department of Education. Some of the main findings of the study were that the majority of respondents indicated awareness of the space industry as a discipline in the field of science and technology. The respondents had limited knowledge about career opportunities. However, due to inadequate resources in rural schools the respondents’ knowledge about career opportunities was insufficient in these schools. Due to the lack of resources, the respondents did not have sufficient information to choose a career opportunity in space. Furthermore, differences in terms of resources (electricity supply, Internet access, classroom size, furniture and fittings, travelling time to and from school) and the location of school were noted. It was also noted that respondents are unclear about how and where to apply for space-related subjects. The space industry was found lacking in terms of marketing itself in South Africa. Thus, the marketing communication strategy needs to be developed and taken into consideration. It is recommended that the South African space industry should develop more outreach programmes; engage with the Department of Higher Education; sponsor science and technological projects; provide more scholarships; and create a Space Science University (SSU).

Résumé :
The research subject is future agrarians integrated professional training. Research methods: systematic references analysis; concept research; modeling; pedagogical experience generalization; scientific investigation, data analysis, discussion, students servey, diagnostic testing methods; qualitative and quantitative analyses of research results. The research purpose is to justify the pedagogical conditions for improving the integrated vocational training quality of students and to formulate the specified goals for future agrarians vocational training. It is proved that one of the promising ways for improving the training of specialists by approaching European standards is pedagogical integration. That is why interdisciplinary links of an integrative nature between the four cognitive blocks: social; mathematical; natural; disciplines related to the main branches of agriculture (crop production, animal husbandry, agricultural mechanization) are inserted into the content of training future agrarians. It is proved that under these conditions social, mathematical or professionallyoriented disciplines function as system-forming factors. The pedagogical conditions for the social, natural-mathematical and professional-oriented disciplines integration are considered as a set of interrelated circumstances of the pedagogical process necessary to create a complete training, which implementation provides training of highly qualified specialists at the lowest cost. The article describes using multimedia experience in professional training. Multimedia learning principles are considered. The possibilities of e-textbooks as a means of effective learning in traditional and innovative education systems are also analyzed. Didactic requirements for the creation of this teaching tool are defined. Electronic textbooks “Higher Mathematics” and “Political Science” are presented. The introduction necesssity of educational mixed and distance forms in the specialists’ professional training, according to the current social needs is justified. The interaction and integrity problem of three components such as organizational forms, didactic process and qualification of teachers is considered. The conclusion concerning the training process optimization is made, based on the undertaken generalization. The pedagogical conditions analyses for improving the quality of professional training of students allowed to formulate their main groups, such as the following: naturalmathematical, social and professionally-oriented knowledge of agricultural profile system formation on the basis of an integrative approach; problematic approach to structuring the content of education usage; information and communication technologies and multimedia means usage; formation of individual educational tendencies on the basis of educational mixed forms; distance learning introduction; focusing on the synergetic paradigm of education, which is closely related to the integration and systematization processes of the content of education, its accessibility. The research enabled to formulate the certain goals of future agrarians professional training and ,namely to master their general and special knowledge, the ability to adapt professional knowledge to the agricultural education requirements; to ensure continuity in the study of general and professionally-oriented disciplines of agricultural profile; integration of natural-mathematical, social and special agricultural knowledge and skills in professional activity; creative abilities development of agrarians on the basis of integrative, problem and activity approaches in educational process.
