Résumé :
We introduce support varieties for rational representations of a linear algebraic group $G$ of exponential type over an algebraically closed field $k$ of characteristic $p>0$. These varieties are closed subspaces of the space $V(G)$ of all 1-parameter subgroups of $G$. The functor $M\mapsto V(G)_{M}$ satisfies many of the standard properties of support varieties satisfied by finite groups and other finite group schemes. Furthermore, there is a close relationship between $V(G)_{M}$ and the family of support varieties $V_{r}(G)_{M}$ obtained by restricting the $G$ action to Frobenius kernels $G_{(r)}\subset G$. These support varieties seem particularly appropriate for the investigation of infinite-dimensional rational $G$-modules.

Résumé :
The aims of this study were (1) to explore the degree of concordance/discordance between the illness perceptions of patients with a chronic illness and those of their partners, and (2) to examine the relationship between the concordance/discordance of couples’ illness perceptions and social support exchange processes. In a cross-sectional study, 119 chronic patients and their partners completed questionnaires assessing their illness perceptions (IPQ-R) as well as the social support received by the patients and that provided by the partners (BSSS). The degree of concordance between the illness perceptions of patients and partners was assessed and related to received and provided social support. The concordance between patients’ and partners’ illness perceptions regarding the patient’s chronic illness was quite high. In general, in couples with negative-concordant illness perceptions, more social support was received and provided than in couples with positive-concordant illness perceptions and in couples with discordant illness perceptions. Most of the differences between groups were found for informational social support. Findings indicate that the concordance of illness perceptions between patients and their partners is related to social support exchange processes. This demonstrates the importance of the involvement of patients’ partners in the process of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.

The Swedish Armed Forces are transforming to be able to conduct military operations in today’sstandard conflicts. To meet the demands that the new type of conflict represents the transformationrequires a development of new doctrines and tactical manuals. .Developments of new weapon systems are proportionately much more expensive than conceptualdevelopments. The armed forces’ combat capability must be adapted to existing military technologicalconditions. During the 1980s and 1990s Close Air Support aircrafts were represented by heavily armedand armoured fixed- and rotary-wing aircrafts which carried out CAS missions in close proximity tofriendly forces. These CAS platforms are today, more or less, represented by traditional fighter andstriker aircrafts. This observation will form the basis of this research and thereby formulate thescientific question.Has the significance of Close Air Support been changed and is it therefore made it possible to useother combat aircrafts for Close Air Support missions? The purpose of this thesis is to examine how Close Air Support has been put in practise in threemodern operations and to ascertain how this has developed the concept to what it is today.Furthermore the thesis will also clarify the significance of the concept and thereby contribute withknowledge to the concept of Close Air Support. The research will analyze the concept’s historical origin and the theory behind combined arms. Thisanalysis will form the basis for the following case studies, which comprise three military operationscarried out after 1990. The research will focus on coordination, platforms and operational and tacticaleffects. The final discussion will show that coordination of CAS has been executed differently during the threestudied operations. Today’s conflicts make it possible to use weapon systems in an extended role. Thiswill explain why different combat aircraft could be used in a CAS role. The research shows that theCAS concept hasn’t changed. However, CAS has been performed in different ways depending on theoperational circumstances within each operation. The thesis suggests three new research areas within the subject that could be appropriate for furtherexaminations.

Résumé :
This study examines whether current and future strategy, doctrine, and programmed systems are suitable to perform fire support and specifically, close air support (CAS)and close air support/troops-in-contact (CAS/TIC) missions for joint expeditionary warfare. Naval forces will provide the "enabling" power for this new come-as-you-are environment. To offset reductions in organic fire support, more frequent and sustained application of CAS and CAS/TIC will be required by joint expeditionary forces. To comparatively analyze selected CAS platforms, the study uses four air-to-ground measures of merit (MOM); (1) target detection/recognition; (2) lethality; (3) survivability; and (4) combat persistence. The results paint and bleak picture of current capability. Therefore, a Carrier-Based Gunship (CBG) concept is presented to fill this void. The concept is more important than the selection of one particular platform. For illustrative purposes, three CBG candidates were evaluated using AC-130 gunship systems and employment as a guide coupled with the four MOM as the baseline. The CBG would be situated on a forward-deployed carrier, close enough to the objective area to provide sustained CAS/TIC support for joint expeditionary forces.

Résumé :
There are many kinds of joint operations and combinations of combined arms. This thesis puts its focus on Close Air Support, CAS. Throughout history there have been several cases of success, regarding these kinds of operations, but also failure. Much can be taught from organizational behaviour studies, applied on these military organisations in their cooperation with each other. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the cooperation between the Swedish army and air force to determine the functionality of their process. This is done by text analysis and interviews. The study shows that the cooperation works at its bets at the unit level. The Swedish armed forces have a wide range of tasks it wishes to fulfil together with broad priorities. As of now, there is a balance between the two services´ needs and what they can deliver. Although there are indications that the army´s requirements might increase in the future. The air force focus on homeland defence might push this balance even further, though CAS is not a priority in that scenario. If there is a significant change in the balance of demand between the two services, at least one of the services might have to reconsider their whole line of business.    Key words: Collaboration, Organizational development, Close Air Support.
Nyckelord: Samverkan, Organisationsutveckling, Close Air Support.

Résumé :
Abstract Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) receives close attention due to highly desirable characteristics, including pay-as-you-go pricing, high elasticity, and its fully managed nature. To leverage these benefits for existing applications, developers face the challenge of migrating legacy code to a FaaS platform (FaaSification). Unfortunately, however, actionable guidance on how to do so for real-world applications does not exist. In this paper, we report on our experience from FaaSifying a data-intensive application, and evaluating different options through extensive experimentation, using approaches such as regression tests and tracing. Based on the obtained results, we present five migration tactics in support of future FaaSification.

Résumé :
AbstractWhile close relations include both intimate family members and close friends, the transmission of socioeconomic resource remains largely confined within families. Moreover, family-transmitted values and sociopsychological skills are incorporated during childhood, and emotional and instrumental support is still mainly assumed by family members. These overlapping exchanges mean that family ties constitute durable resource for individuals, but that families are (also) damaging in case of tie dissolution, poor relational quality or gendered family practices. In this chapter, we examine how family and friends affect vulnerability processes differently by using three longitudinal datasets on long-term couples, lone parents, and ageing individuals, as well cross-sectional data on adults’ personal networks, collected with support from LIVES. We found that ambivalent and sometimes negative (i.e., resource depletion) aspects of family relationships emerge, in particular, in situations in which other key resources (including friendship ties) are missing, typically with the occurrence of stressful life events. Conversely, negative family events are more quickly overcome when sufficient resources (including friends) are available. Interestingly, some negative life events, such as job loss, are better dealt with through sparser personal networks. By contrast, normative life events act as densifiers or enlargers of both elective and family networks.
