McCune, Blanche Conger. « CHLOE TEMPESTIVA, MISERA, DOCTA AND ARROGANS (HORACE, ODES 1.23, 3.7, 3.9 AND 3.26) ». Classical Quarterly 66, no 2 (26 octobre 2016) : 573–79. http://dx.doi.org/10.1017/s0009838816000677.

Résumé :
The name ‘Chloe’ appears four times in Horace's Odes, once in Book 1 (1.23) and three times in Book 3 (3.7, 3.9, 3.26). Whether the ‘Chloes’ represent a woman or women from Horace's real life is probably not something we could know. Furthermore, there is no obvious reason to assume that all the ‘Chloes’ are the same person. However, there is likewise no obvious reason not to read the odes in which the name ‘Chloe’ appears, as some scholars have done, as referring to the same woman, fictional or otherwise. This article argues both that ‘Chloe’ is a consistent character in the Odes and that the portrayal of Chloe is not only connected across odes but also sequential. Taking the poems in order, we see Chloe grow up from a girl who is inexperienced in the world of men to a mature mistress who plays the dominant role in her love affairs.

Lim, Adelle Yun Xin, Alexa Zepeda et Cristina Hickman. « #79 : Triptorelin Triggered Cycles Improve Embryo Viability Compared to HCG Triggered Cycles ». Fertility & ; Reproduction 05, no 04 (décembre 2023) : 686. http://dx.doi.org/10.1142/s2661318223744028.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
Background and Aims: Embryo quality is directly related to pregnancy rate as previously demonstrated by CHLOE-EQ. CHLOE-EQ Score is an automatic embryo viability score provided by CHLOE (Fairtility). It might provide key performance indicators (KPI) to measure how different protocols impact embryo quality. KPIs are objective measures for systematically monitoring and evaluating the IVF laboratory, a critical element of every IVF clinic Quality Management System. KPIs currently rely on definitions which are simple to assess (fertilisation, cleavage, blastulation), we do not routinely use other biomarkers to monitor operations. The aim of the study was to assess how trigger protocols influence CHLOE-EQ embryo viability score. Method: Retrospective comparative analysis with 1684 time-lapse videos collected between February-June 2022 in a single private clinic. Embryos were automatically assessed by CHLOE-EQ, an AI embryologist support tool. Assessment of trigger protocol, CHLOE-EQ Score and demographic bias was measured using t-test. Results: Embryos derived from cycles triggered with Triptorelin had better quality than those triggered with HCG (CHLOE EQ Score: 3.4±4.03, n=524 vs 3.02±3.85, n=1127, p=0.03). The difference could not be explained by age, PCOS, low ovarian reserve, fibroids, polyps. However, the type of trigger did not affect embryo utilisation [250/524 (47.70% vs 485/1127(43.03%), p>0.05]. CHLOE-EQ Score is predictive of utilisation (AUC=0.88, n=1677, baseline=45%, p<0.001), blastulation (AUC=0.90, n=1681, baseline=62.2%, p<0.001) and selection for transfer (AUC=0.92, n=1677, baseline=2.7%, p<0.001). Conclusion: Triptorelin triggered cycles improve embryo viability, as measured by CHLOE-EQ automatic score, compared to HCG triggered cycles. CHLOE-EQ provides monitoring of clinical practices to determine if protocols influence clinical outcomes and KPIs. CHLOE-KPI can provide KPI insights to detect and prevent non-conformances before they get a chance to affect clinical outcome. Early prevention of operational anomalies provides an opportunity to improve standards of care.

Résumé :
Dissections and scientific illustrations were done of the spiral organ located in the forewing subcostal vein of H. chloe, which was compared with other Hamadryas species that produce audible sound signals. Important differences were found; for example, in H. chloe, this organ is split into many independent pieces called membrane discs, whereas in the others species, it consists of just a single spiral. Implications for systematic analysis are discussed, with support from observations on ecology, chorology, and male genitalia.

Résumé :
This article focuses on the experiences of Irina and Chloe, two adolescents who had recently migrated to Toronto at the time of the study in which they participated. Through reading discussion groups and semi-structured interviews, Irina and Chloe conceptualized place and identity within and beyond two contemporary young adult texts: Tim Wynne-Jones’s Blink and Caution and Clare Vanderpool’s Moon Over Manifest. Drawing on children’s literature criticism and cultural geography theory, I interpret the ways in which Chloe’s and Irina’s identities have been informed by migration as well as the ways in which mobility has shaped and constrained their familial and social relations. Through discourse analysis, I illustrate the ways in which place has informed their emerging adolescent identities. I offer a critical description of the moment in time when these texts, these readers, and I met as part of a reading transaction within a particular time and space.

Résumé :
Is it cheating if your spouse gives you permission? In this work of philosophical short story fiction, Chloe and Nick agree on a list; they each have five famous people that, if the opportunity arises, they can sleep with. It’s Nick’s idea they have a list, however, it’s Chloe who goes to a concert and meets the lead singer that is on our list. At first, she declines the lead singer’s offer, but opts to continue texting. Eventually, and without telling Nick ahead of time, she spends the night with the lead singer. Wracked with guilt, a few weeks later she tells Nick what happens, and he leaves her, insisting that she did, in fact, cheat on him, as she should have know the whole idea of a list was being done in nothing more than good fun and was not, in fact, a hall pass to cheat.

Résumé :
Beyond Maurice Ravel's 1910 score, the remnants of the original production of Daphnis et Chloe--one known stage photograph, an assortment of studio photographs, seven known costumes, brief reviews, anecdotal memoirs, and a bundle of pastel drawings--constitute choreographer Michel Fokine's 1907 scenario. These materials are scattered across the globe, preserved in libraries and museums in Russia, Sweden, France, England, and the United States. They compose less a ballet, even the archival detritus of a ballet, than a haunting absence. This article assembles all of these materials in an assessment of the differences between Ravel's and Fokine's conceptions of Hellenic antiquity. The discussion focuses on the draft and revised versions of the literary scenario and the draft and revised versions of the finale of the score, cast in 3/4 and 5/4 meter respectively. The ending of the article offers brief remarks on the music-dance relationship in the original and two subsequent productions of the ballet.
