Résumé :
Goose Mountain is the second episode in the Chinese animation Chinese folktales. Rooted in traditional Chinese culture, this short film deconstructs Chinese stories into Chinese landscapes, Chinese legends and Chinese allusions. Although there is not a single line of dialogue in the whole film, it still presents a strong sense of Chinese style. Peirce’s study focuses on the role of representament in personal perception. Based on Peirce’s semiotic theory, this study adopted the definition of representament and trichotomy as theoretical framework to explore the important role of cultural representaments in the process of telling Chinese stories in Chinese animation.

Résumé :
This paper discusses the use of time-fuzzy words and frequency-fuzzy words in President Xi Jinping’s diplomatic speeches, and analyzes the fuzziness of the words “long-term” and “continuous”, which are frequently used in the time-fuzzy words and frequency-fuzzy words. Meanwhile, it discusses the pragmatic function of these two words based on specific corpus of diplomatic speeches. According to the study, it is found that the use of fuzzy words in diplomatic speech is typical and representative, which is of vital importance to the writing of political-style writing and political communication. In political language writing, the pragmatic function of fuzzy words cannot be replaced by precise words. However, the use of fuzzy words requires certain rules and regulations, such as grasping the ambiguity degree of fuzzy words and combining fuzzy words with precise words. Otherwise, the political discourse will look like stereotyped and rigid, resulting in a negative impact of fake and inane political discourse language.

Archaic, magical and religious symbols in a Chinese cultural revolution poster This article investigates the presence of symbolic elements, many of them associated with Chinese religious thought, in a propaganda poster of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. To this end, using a methodology that combines different areas of knowledge: Chinese Studies (within which, the study of religiosity Chinese), Chinese language and symbols associated with it, Symbolism, History, Theory and Sociology Poster Image. The rapprochement with the Chinese theme became the poster, at first, by an effort of translation and analysis of written text that compose it. To approximate the elements of history, culture and religious symbolism present in the Sinic piece of propaganda, the authors used the work of scholars such as M. Granet, A. Cheng (Schools of Thought, Religious Symbolism), K. Stevens (Popular Religiosity and religious iconography) and J.Spence (History) as well as Chinese literary works and films. With regard to the symbols (in their universality), appealed to the observations of M. Eliade. In relation to issues associated specifically with posters, appealed to L. Gervereau (History), A. Moles (Poster Theory) and Flusser (Sociology of the Image, Imagery Theory of Reading. Based on the intersection of the theoretical, the authors have demonstrate that the intelligentsia of the Cultural Revolution used archaic symbols - religious and political - in advertising devoted to promoting a discourse of destruction and replacement of old values. Résumé :
Translator’s Note The article that follows was first published in Zhongguo yingzao xueshe huikan (Bulletin of the Society for Research in Chinese Architecture), volume 7, number 1, in October 1944, when the journal resumed publishing after a seven-year hiatus. The Society for Research in Chinese Architecture had been founded by Zhu Qiqian (1872–1964) in 1930, and its leading members were Liang Sicheng (1901–72), Liu Dunzhen (1897–1968), and Lin Huiyin (1904–55). The war against Japan that officially broke out in 1937 wreaked havoc on ancient buildings in China, an issue that Liang discusses in the article, and also had a direct and drastic impact on the society, whose members were forced to flee Beijing. They went to southwestern inland China, settling first in Kunming, Yunnan province, in 1938, and then in the small village of Li Zhuang, Sichuan province, in the winter of 1940. Amid the severe material and financial hardships caused by the war, the society also had to endure the departure of its most important members and contributors to its research, including Liu Dunzhen in 1943. The handful of remaining scholars decided to resume publication of the bulletin in 1944, probably writing their journal articles by hand and reproducing the pages lithographically for distribution. The article followed a foreword and acknowledgment in the 1944 issue of the journal. During the society’s existence the journal was to publish only one more issue, in October 1945. Although Liang Sicheng was not named as the author of the article (which was signed only “the editor”) it is usually attributed, reasonably, to Liang Sicheng himself.1

Tuotea produced in southwest China has a long and unique history of more than 100 years. Although the development of Tuotea is limited by various factors at present, such a kind of tea with national color should not be lonely in the long river of history. This paper firstly clarifies the historical origin and development of tuotea by reading and sorting out a large number of literature. In addition, it also analyzes the manufacturing process of modern Tuotea and traditional Tuotea. Finally, from its origin to its heyday and then to its decline, this paper discusses five advantages of Tuotea, such as quality, geography, culture, policy and export, and puts forward five development countermeasures, such as quality, trademark, talents, policy and export. Hope to provide new ideas for promoting the development of Tuotea.

In recent years, China’s comprehensive national power has been rising, its international status has been significantly improved, and many political terms have sprung up. These political terms reflect the country’s image and the trend of national policy-making, which affects the shaping of the country’s image. Starting from national image and the process of translating political discourse with Chinese characteristics, this paper selects three representative political terms of “Chinese Dream” “Harmony without Uniformity” and “New Model Major-Country Relations” that have appeared in government work reports, regular press conferences of spokesmen of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic parlance as the research objects. It means to discusses the relationship between Chinese political term translation and national image building and studies the influence of political term translation to build a peaceful, inclusive and win-win national image. Résumé :

Due to the globalization trend, the transformation of Chinese OEM has become a hot topic in the last decades. Although the previous literature suggested that there were many different determinants influencing firms to be successful companies, there is a lack of combination in the context of Chinese OEM. Thus, the purpose of this research study is to find out the approach of Chinese OEMs to successfully launch their own products based on three perspectives - organizational structure, processes and culture.Applying a qualitative approach, the data was gathered through semi-structured telephone interviews with the senior personnel of one Chinese OEM company (Damekiss), complemented with secondary data collected from the company’s and public websites. The results of analysis showed different views of how organizational structure, process and culture influencing on the transformation of Chinese OEM. We found that four functions (i.e. manufacturing, distribution, new product development and human resource management) influenced the transformation of Chinese OEM in organizational structure perspective. Among these functions, human resource management and distribution are extremely weak in the organizational structure of Chinese OEM. Regarding to the process of formulating these functions, the deep understanding of the customers’ preferences and collaboration partners that influenced building distribution were figured out. In the case company, it showed a relative poor ability on distribution which would be the barriers for further developing. Building HRM process was raised as another issue of the transformation of Chinese OEMs. According to the case company, HRM was poorly organized. The recruitment did not get enough attention; the training programs stayed at a lower level. The last not least, the corporate culture was also proven to be playing an important role in the transformation of Chinese OEMs. Awareness of corporate culture as one of significant aspects influencing the entire company was found in the case company. Slogan, company heroes and rituals as an internal culture were properly used to motivate employees.

Yu, Xian Fu. « A study of Chinese reflexives ». Thesis, SOAS, University of London, 1996. http://eprints.soas.ac.uk/29559/.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
This thesis investigates the different types of Chinese reflexive constructions and presents an analysis of these, attempting to integrate syntactic, morphological and discourse-related aspects of the phenomena. In Chinese, two distinct types of reflexive have been widely discussed in the literature: simplex reflexive ziji 'self', which is a long-distance reflexive, and complex reflexives pronoun + ziji, such as taziji 'himself', which must be locally bound (see Huang and Tang (1991) among others). In addition, Chinese has a kind of double reflexive construction, such as ziji-benshen, and reflexive clitics zi and ziwo. This thesis argues that reflexive clitics must be locally bound; and that under certain conditions, both simplex reflexive ziji and complex reflexives such as taziji and ziji- benshen can be locally bound, long-distance bound, or even free in an entire sentence. When the reflexive is locally bound, it must fall under the principles of the Binding Theory; when it is long-distance bound or free in an entire sentence, it is subject to logophoric interpretation. Whether a reflexive is subject to the Binding Theory or logophoric interpretation is determined by the interaction between the reflexive itself and the verb which governs it, which illustrates from whose point of view the report is made. I propose that every type of reflexive has two structures: one is an anaphoric structure, while the other is a logophoric structure. When a verb assigns an anaphoric theta role, the reflexive can have the anaphoric structure and the head of the reflexive NP is allowed to adjoin the head of the VP at LF. In this sense, the anaphoric reading is the result of movement of the head of the reflexive at LF. If a reflexive cannot receive an anaphoric theta role, it can have a logophoric structure. In the logophoric structure, the head of the reflexive DP must be a pro in order to receive the disjoint theta role from the verb. In this sense, the logophoric reading is a result of coindexing the pro with its antecedent. This thesis provides an explanation for local binding and long-distance binding within the Chomskyan paradigm and proposes a number of constraints for logophoric reflexives.

Bai, Bing. « An Ethnographic Study of the Piano Craze in China ». Thesis, The University of Sydney, 2018. http://hdl.handle.net/2123/19912.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
This thesis comprises an ethnographic study of the ‘piano craze’ that became apparent in China around the 1990s. It forms part of a two part study, the other part of which is a performance-based creative work project. It investigates why pianism has gained extreme popularity in China, and the key factors influencing the actions and choices of teachers, students and their parents who are involved in piano playing and teaching. It draws on ethnographic interviews conducted with pianists, students, parents and teachers in different regions of China. The research found that in China people study and play the piano for a range of reasons. While for many the educational benefits of piano playing are considered most important, China’s rapid globalisation and modernisation, as well as traditional Chinese ideas of social and personal success, also seem to be influential factors.

Résumé :
In recent years, under the strategic background of national cultural soft power construction, the domestic animation industry has shown a rapid development trend. The output of China’s image in domestic animation is not only an important channel to tell the story of China, but also a showcase of Chinese culture going abroad. Guided by Ecotranslatology, this study uses the principle of three-dimensional transformation to explore how to show cultural self-confidence and achieve communicative purposes in the translation of animated subtitles, taking Yao-Chinese Folktales, a popular domestic animated series in 2023, as an example. It is found that translators often choose appropriate translation strategies, methods and techniques to achieve translation effects in linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions, promoting full communication between the source culture and the target culture. The purpose of this study is to provide reference for the subtitle translation of domestic animation and make contribution to the enhancement of international influence of Chinese animation and Chinese traditional culture.
