Résumé :
Scientific research in the area of chateau brownfields is quite new and thus offers room for interesting findings and insights. This text presents the results of a pilot study in search of causality between the causes of the occurrence and spheres of restoration of chateau brownfields in the Moravian-Silesian region in the Czech Republic, where chateau settlements are considered an urban phenomenon of the cultural landscape. Out of a total of 88 chateaux, 40 have received brownfield status over the years, of which 28 are currently regenerated. The main reason why the chateaux were abandoned can be found in the inappropriate economic activities that took place in them, which originated mainly in the directive decision on their functionality at the end of the Second World War. Most of the chateau brownfield sites are still abandoned or currently for sale, and many others have been regenerated for tourism and public sector services. The causality analysed between the causes of their occurrence and their restored function reflects the logical and economic context characteristic of a time of restoration and the general desire of the public sector to reduce the number of brownfield sites in its cadastral area.

Résumé :
Land desertification is a global environmental problem, leading to the deterioration of the ecological environment and is an issue that threatens humans. Hongsibu, located in Ningxia, northwest China, is a semi-desert area with the largest domestic single-site ecological resettlement area for poverty alleviation based on the wine industry. Here, we quantified the value of the ecosystem services of the wine industry in Hongsibu and used the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to quantitatively evaluate the comprehensive benefits of the wine industry for resolving desertification. We found that winegrapes significantly increase vegetation cover, while significantly decreasing blowing sand and generating a total annual value of ecosystem services of 6.13× 108 RMB. The evaluation score of the comprehensive benefits is 81.85%, with grape growers and chateaus obtaining large economic benefits from the wine industry. In conclusion, the wine industry’s development not only enhances the economic level of grape growers but significantly resolves desertification in impoverished areas—thus alleviating poverty and land degradation, contributing to sustainable development. Therefore, this may be an effective strategy for sustainable development in other parts of the world.

Texte intégral
Résumé :
This essay posits three basic sources for the vocabulary of Vanbrugh's mixed style: namely, (1) the interior architecture and scene design of the contemporary theatre, with which Vanbrugh became familiar in his capacity as dramatist and manager of the Queen's Theatre at the Haymarket; (2) the medieval forms of the walled city of Chester in which he spent his youth; and (3) the donjon and courtyards of the Chateau of Vincennes, which Vanbrugh would have come to know during his imprisonment there in 1691. The first two operate as rather general sources of the "theatrical" and the "medieval" elements in Vanbrugh's buildings. In the case of the Chateau of Vincennes the influence is more specific: the arrangement of the Chateau's donjon and courtyards supplied a model for the typical design of Vanbrugh's large-scale buildings in which forward-thrusting wings are attached to a deeply recessed centerblock. David Cast's neo-Hobbesian suggestions for "seeing" Vanbrugh are invoked as a means of making aesthetic sense of Vanbrugh's use of his three sources.

Résumé :
The paper presents the cultural landscape surrounding Roztěž near Kutná Hora. The existence of a designed landscape linked to the person of Franz Anton von Sporck was presumed in the area between the chateau of Roztěž and chapel of St. John Baptist on the Vysoká hill built in 1695–1697. Compared to other landscape designs of Sporck this project is almost unknown, but the name of the landlord offers a clue. This is the reason why this area was selected for testing the Methodology for Identification of Designed Landscapes created at the Department of Landscape Planning of FH MENDELU in 2012. The assessment confirmed the basic compositional relation (Roztěž chateau – chapel of St. John Baptist) and detected conditions of larger spatial relations linked to the chateau. The special part of surveys and analyses used GIS tools that allow for testing the visual links between individual features of the composition and spaces, and to formulate a hypothesis about the actual form of the composition in the landscape. The core of the composition was the chateau of Roztěž, but it was not limited only to the link with the chapel but included the surrounding settlements as well (Malešov, Nová Lhota), and also the extensive pheasantry.

Résumé :
Chateau de Balleroy located in the Calvados region of Normandy, France played an important role in the career of François Mansart, popularizer of the “Mansard” roof. Historic architectural features, subsurface archaeological features, and graffiti were documented using drones and multispectral imagery. The analysis of these data enhances our understanding of how the people of Balleroy marked and modified the Chateau and its associated landscape at multiple sociospatial scales over the last four centuries.

Durand, Philippe.

In the late middle ages the barony of montmorillon covered an area of about 1000 square kilometers and its economy (consisting mostly in breeding) was an average one in spite of the difficulties of the time. It was composed of a hundred and ten fiefs. There stood twenty seven castles. Montmorillon has got an archpriest. Fifteen castles are still standing in perfect or poor condition. Four of them were built in the xivth century, such as la ferrandiere and pruniers. The others were erected in the xvth century ; we can underline the interest of forges, bourg-archambault and champeau. Created because the people of that time were afraid, and the symbol of a social class, the castle in the montmorillon area was financed by the gentry, with the warrant of the king or without it ; built by local masters, who were themselves influenced by the ones in poitiers, it was kept by the population around. It could protect only against gangs of armed men. Standing on various sites, it has got a plan organized around a dwelling or a keep. It is a model counterpart of the great castle : an enceinte, towers, a chapel, a dwelling or a keep are to be found there ; its decoration, which is rather rich, obviously improved in the second half of the xvth century. When considered in the context of its time, the little castle can be looked upon as a building devoided of any major archeological originality in comparaison with the other countries except for one : the square keep flanked with four turrets projecting out, a type the pattern of which is the keep of vincennes and the "tour maubergeon" in poitiers. It must be neatly differentiated from the fortified house. In each of its elements (its architecture, its decoration), it is a modest duplicate of the great constructions of the late middle ages

Ferras, Catherine.

The western bas-languedoc, as in other regions in france, has witressed the proliferation of a multitude of the eve of world war one. This research tries to characterise this group of "chateaux" which fit in perfectly with the architectural ideology of the period by means of a study on styles and - what is more difficult to establish- on the architects who, for the most part are unknown or have been forgotten. This construc- tions hifghlight the vast wine-producing estates which are very often rich in history in the beziers and aude areas. Their achievement was made possible due to a specific economic phonomenon linked to the wineyards: the scourge of oidium and phylloxera which spared this area, whilst devastating the rest of the herault department, allowed beziers and narbonne to become the sole wine producers for several years during which permitted the great landowners to accumulate considerable fortunes. At the head of the true wine-producing concerns ever since, the beziers and aude upper middle classes had its urban habitations renovated and had sumptuous country dwellings built, symbols of its quasi-aristocratic power, in order to accomodate a highly fashonable lifestyle

This work has for object the study of alsatian mountain castles, confronted to siege war determined by introduction and development of fire arms. It is the study of the material frame, where we observe a certain spring of mountain castles. Their architecture isn't throw down by the new arms. Constancies subsist. Empiric modifications of the art of siege involve slow and progressive transformations of the castle. It's also the study of a political context, into wich castle is included. More than never, it is the instrument and stake of concurrent ambitions, of territories in way of strengthening and organization in the alsatian ending middle ages and beginning modern epoch. Examination of general data and more detailled approach through four significant examples (haut-koenigsbourg, haut-barr, herrenstein, schoeneck) make appear all these aspects

The utility room is located in the basement. The brawery, beer tasting, café and reception is on the first floor. Museum is located in the second floor complemented by seasonal exposure and accomodations. Museum is focused around Thirty Years’ War and the history of the chateau and Ivanovice. The offices are on the third floor, and they are made for interacting with the public. Connection of the chateau and the garden is an important part of the design, and its done formally and informally using also the linear objects. The garden was divided into three units on the southern side: The symetrical garden, space for holding an accompanying events and park. The space on the northern side was divided for parking of the employees of Bioveta and parking for visiters of the Chateau. The garden is opened for public and new connection between north-west and south entrances was made.

Résumé :
Chateaus (castles) and mansion houses (residences) are a common part of village and town settlements in our conditions in the Czech Republic. Due to the interruption of ownership and property relations to these buildings during the 20th century, many of them lost their original or additional useful purpose, were abandoned and fell into disrepair and ruins. Nowadays, these chateau and mansion houses wish regeneration and renewal, and they have thus become an important historical, urban and social element in the development of the territory and cultural landscape. Due to the absence of a theoretical definition of this type of brownfield, the intention of this paper is to try to do this through a synthesis of expertise in the field of brownfields and the historical context of the existence of chateaus (castles) and mansions and grounds (areas). The intention is also to identify the historical milestones that contributed to the formation of the castle brownfields. The findings are inductively generalized in the created conceptual scheme of the genesis and restoration of chateau and mansion brownfields. The term castle brownfield was defined and the main historical milestones were emphasized, which significantly contributed to the emergence of this type of brownfield in the Czech Republic.

Résumé :
"In the process of red wine aging, the barrel plays a fundamental role both in the contribution of aromas and in the stabilization of the wine and its color. There are, however, different types of barrels, depending on materials, species and origin of the oak, morphology and geometry, and capacity (from 225 liters to larger formats of 300 and 500 liters). The purpose of this work is to perform the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of these barrel formats and compare them with the 225-liter Bordeaux barrel, providing detailed information on these products that can serve as a reference for their use in the calculation of the impact of its application in the wine aging processes. We will consider, for the realization of the present LCA, all the phases of process and manufacture of the barrel that cover from the contribution of materials and their processing until the final storage."
