Résumé :
Saurauia Willd. is a genus of perennial plant or bush which usually found in highland forest or as rheophyte in rocky areas along the river bed. There are 12 species of this genus found in West Sumatera. The purpose of this research is to analyze the grouping of Saurauia species based on morphometric analysis and determine the pollination system based on pollen-ovule (P/O) ratio. The research has been conducted since September 2014 until December 2015 by using the self-collected specimen and Herbarium ANDA specimen. Morphometric analysis was applied to all 12 species which consist of 21 morphological characters and pollen–ovule (P/O) ratio was applied to 10 species. The results of this research are: generally the euclidian distance is ranged 7.35-14.73. The shortest one is S. cerea and S. laxa which d point is 7.35 and the longest one is S. cerea and Saurauia sp. which the d point is 14.73. Saurauia sp. is closely related with S. leprosa and S. bracteosa which are belonged to same sub cluster and having the same character which are glabrous leaf surface, acuminate apex and 5 similar sepals. Pollen-ovule (P/O) ratio determined the pollination system of Saurauia is xenogami.

Résumé :
The Nearctic species of Gimnomera Rondani are revised and includes eight species, of which three are new to science (G. aquilonia sp. nov., G. cerea (Coquillett), G. cuneiventris (Zetterstedt), G. incisurata Malloch, G. subvittata (Malloch), G. terrywheeleri sp. nov., G. tibialis (Malloch), G. vockerothi sp. nov.). Gimnomera cuneiventris is newly recognized as Holarctic in distribution. Gimnomera fasciventris Malloch is removed and transferred to the genus Acerocnema, comb. nov. An additional Nearctic species is recognized but not described due to lack of male specimens. Species descriptions, diagnoses and distribution maps are presented, including images of the male terminalia as well as additional diagnostic characters. A key to the Nearctic species is also provided. A morphological cladistic analysis of 12 species reveals that the Nearctic and Palearctic species do not form separate monophyletic groups. COI mitochondrial DNA barcode sequences were obtained for eight Nearctic species of Gimnomera.

Résumé :
The origins of the Humiliati have long been a subject of discussion amongst historians. In the twentieth century the first person to grapple with the problems was Antonino de Stefano, who was quickly followed by Luigi Zanoni, later by Herbert Grundmann and Ilarino da Milano, and more recently by Michele Maccarrone, Brenda Bolton, and Maria Pia Alberzoni. The modern writers have accepted de Stefano’s view that the Humiliati first emerged in northern Italy in the late twelfth century. The earliest references, dating from the 1170s, describe both a small group of lay men and women devoted to the religious life (humiliati per deum), and an association of clerics living in community at the church of San Pietro Viboldone. Although they initially sought papal approval, those who ‘falsely called themselves Humiliati’ were condemned in 1184 by Lucius III, not because they were guilty of doctrinal error but because they refused to stop preaching without authority or holding private meetings, probably also because of their rejection of oath-taking. In spite of this setback the Humiliati flourished, and by the end of the twelfth century three distinct elements were recognizable: married or single lay men and women living a religious life while remaining in their own homes, male and female monastics living in common under a rule, and clerics living in some sort of canonical communities. In June 1201 these groups were brought back into the Church under the auspices of Innocent III. He gave approval to the three groups or ‘orders’ which recent research has revealed were already distinct before curial intervention, but which were now organized into one framework along Cistercian lines. It was a fortunate decision. Although groups described as ‘Humiliati’ were expelled from Cerea in 1203 and Faenza in 1206, the Order of the Humiliati went on to enjoy spectacular success, becoming a major presence in the religious, economic, and administrative life of northern Italy in the thirteenth century.

Context. (1) Ceres is the largest body in the main asteroid belt and one of the most intriguing objects in the solar system, in part because of the discovery of water outgassing by the Herschel Space Observatory (HSO) and its still-debated origin. Ceres was the target of NASA’s Dawn spacecraft for 3.5 yr, which achieved a detailed characterization of the dwarf planet. The possible influence of the local flux of solar energetic particles (SEP) on the production of a Cerean exosphere and water vapor has been suggested, in addition to the sublimation of water ice that depends on the temperature, meaning the heliocentric distance. Aims. We used the opportunity of both the perihelion passage of (1) Ceres in April 2018, and the presence of Dawn in its vicinity (for measuring the SEP flux in real time) to check the influence of heliocentric distance and SEP flux on water outgassing. Methods. We searched for OH emission lines near the limb of Ceres in the near-UV with the UVES spectrograph mounted on the 8-m ESO Very Large Telescope. Two spectra were recorded when Ceres was close to its perihelion, in February 2018, and with Dawn spacecraft orbiting Ceres. It was possible to simultaneously measure energetic particles around Ceres at the time of our observations. Results. Our observations did not permit detection of OH emission lines to a very high sensitivity level. This level is estimated to correspond to a global water production rate of QH2O ∽ 2 × 1026 molecules s−1, similar to the water production rate derived from HSO observations. The solar energetic particles flux measured around Ceres was negligible at the time of these observations. Conclusions. Our observations support the idea that heliocentric distance (i.e., the sublimation of water ice) does not play a major role in the water emission from Ceres. This production rate could be either related to SEP events or to other mechanisms, possibly of endogenic origin.

Résumé :
Abstract The NASA Dawn mission revealed that the floor of Occator crater on the dwarf planet Ceres (in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter) is populated with small quasi-conical hills. Many of these features exhibit morphometric properties that are like those of ice-cored periglacial hills called pingos. Alternatively, some of these Cerean hills have also been hypothesized to be cryovolcanic in origin. If these hills are analogous to pingos, they represent ice-rich environments that are attractive targets for future exploration. We report new constraints on the morphologies of the Occator hills that aid in determining their origin. We also directly test how morphologically similar the hills in Occator are to pingos and volcanic cones on Earth using comparative statistical analyses. Using a novel application of kernel density estimation and Markov chain Monte Carlo methods we show that the morphologies of terrestrial pingos and volcanic cones are quantifiably distinct, and that the Cerean hills share significant morphometric similarities with pingos on Earth. Our findings indicate that a statistical treatment of morphometry alone can be a powerful tool for classifying and comparing planetary surface features, and that the majority of the resolved Cerean hills are morphometrically more similar to pingos than to small terrestrial volcanic cones.

Résumé :
The suitability of the selected cereals, pseudocereals, and legumes for new probiotic foods development was tested. Probiotic products were produced by inoculating buckwheat, dark buckwheat, barley, oat, soya, and chickpea in combination with oat with Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG and subsequent moulding to eliminate water from the cooked grains. The cell growth, pH and organic acid profiles were monitored during fermentation process at 37°C for 10 h followed by the storage period at 5°C for 21 days. The growth and metabolic parameters were calculated using principles of the predictive microbiology. Lb. rhamnosus GG was able to grow in all substrates during fermentation and reached the cell density of 6.68–7.58 log CFU/g, the highest growth rate having been calculated in the oat product (0.341 log CFU/g/h). After the fermentation, the lowest pH value was observed in the barley product (4.52), while after the storage in the oat-soya product (4.32). The greatest amount of lactic acid after the storage period was measured in the oat-soya product (1977.8 mg/kg). Sensory characteristics of the fermented and stored products were also monitored.

Résumé :
Straw is an important agricultural raw material with application in agriculture, energy sector and other fields of activity. A major impact on reduction of the straw quality is that of an excessive content of microbiological agents caused by improper storage. By simulation of different conditions of storage the development of microorganisms (moulds and yeasts) was determined in the straw of wheat under different water content. Total content of microorganisms varied in a wide range from 103 up to 105 CFU/g. The excessive amount of these microorganisms results not only in a reduction in the quality of raw material due to the development of biodegradable processes, but also causes an increase of hygienic risks in the nearby area.

Résumé :
Mass wasting, as one of the most significant geomorphological processes, contributes immensely to planetary landscape evolution. The frequency and diversity of mass wasting features on any planetary body also put engineering constraints on its robotic exploration. Mass wasting on other Solar System bodies shares similar, although not identical, morphological characteristics with its terrestrial counterpart, indicating a possible common nature for their formation. Thus, planetary bodies with contrasting environmental conditions might help reveal the effects of the atmosphere, subsurface fluids, mass accumulation/precipitation, and seismicity on mass wasting, and vice versa. Their relative positions within our Solar System and the environmental and geophysical conditions on the Moon and the dwarf planet Ceres are not only extremely different from Earth’s but from each other too. Their smaller sizes coupled with the availability of global-scale remote sensing datasets make them ideal candidates to understand mass wasting processes in widely contrasting planetary environments. Through this concept article, we highlight several recent advances in and prospects of using remote sensing datasets to reveal unprecedented details on lunar and Cerean mass wasting processes. We start with briefly discussing several recent studies on mass wasting using Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) data for the Moon and Dawn spacecraft data for Ceres. We further identify the prospects of available remote sensing data in advancing our understanding of mass wasting processes under reduced gravity and in a scant (or absent) atmosphere, and we conclude the article by suggesting future research directions.

Résumé :
Aim: The aim of this paper is to outline the essential features of the EU Exchange Rate Mechanism - ERM II - including the past experience of its participants and to analyze the benefits arising from Poland’s accession to it.Research method: To this end, the method of inductive inference based on the comparative analysis of the experience of the present members of the ERM II system was employed.Findings: Participation in the ERM II system does not obligate its participants to join the eurozone; further, it allows for sustaining a floating exchange rate and guarantees help of the European Central Bank, thus reinforcing economic stability and credibility. This, in turn, should translate into the reduction of the investor’s risk premium and of the relatively high cost of capital in Poland, compared to other Central and Eastern European countries, and to facilitate access to that capital, thus having a positive impact on economic growthContribution to science: Considering the unwillingness of subsequent governments and citizens to adopt euro, this paper attempts to disseminate knowledge and reinforce the substantive arguments within this area at a time when, in spite of the crisis, the group of the EU countries outside the eurozone has been shrinking.
