Résumé :
This study aims to determine the type of tense used in the lyrics of the song “Heaven” by Lyodra Ginting and Calum Scott. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive research method. The data used in this study came from the lyrics of the song “Heaven,” which Calum Scott wrote and sang by himself and Lyodra Ginting. The researcher uses the theory of grammar and style in Stylistics to analyze the tenses selection in the song lyrics data. The study results show that this song’s lyrics predominantly use the simple present tense, and the rest use the present continuous tense, present perfect continuous tense, simple past tense, past continuous tense, and past future tense. There are reasons behind the songwriter’s tense selection. The tense in the song is dominated by simple present tense to express a habitual use indicating a generalization over a set of times. Résumé :
Coupled gating (synchronous openings and closures) of groups of skeletal muscle ryanodine receptors (RyR1), which mimics RyR1-mediated Ca2+ release underlying Ca2+ sparks, was first described by Marx et al. (Marx SO, Ondrias K, Marks AR. Science 281: 818–821, 1998). The nature of the RyR1-RyR1 interactions for coupled gating still needs to be characterized. Consequently, we defined planar lipid bilayer conditions where ∼25% of multichannel reconstitutions contain mixtures of coupled and independently gating RyR1. In ∼10% of the cases, all RyRs (2–10 channels; most frequently 3–4) gated in coupled fashion, allowing for quantification. Our results indicated that coupling required cytosolic solutions containing ATP/Mg2+ and high (50 mM) luminal Ca2+ (Calum) or Sr2+ solutions. Bursts of coupled activity (events) started and ended abruptly, with all channels activating/deactivating within ∼300 μs. Coupled RyR1 were heterogeneous, where highly active RyR1 (“drivers”) seemed open during the entire coupled event (Po = 1), while other RyR1s (“followers”) displayed abundant flickering and smaller amplitude. Drivers mean open time increased with cytosolic Ca2+ (Cacyt) or caffeine, whereas followers flicker frequency was Cacyt independent and more sensitive to inhibition by cytosolic Mg2+. Coupled events were insensitive to varying lumen-to-cytosol Ca2+ fluxes from ∼1 to 8 pA, which does not corroborate coupling of neighboring RyR1 by local Ca2+-induced Ca2+ release. However, coupling requires specific Calum sites, as it was lost when Calum was replaced by luminal Ba2+ or Mg2+. In summary, coupled events reveal complex interactions among heterogeneous RyR1, differentially modulated by cytosolic ATP/Mg2+, Cacyt, and Calum, which under cell-like ionic conditions may parallel synchronous RyR1 gating during Ca2+ sparks.

Résumé :
Sentence patterns and sentence types are an inseparable unit where each type of sentence contains several sentence patterns. In general, some researchers analyzed sentence patterns in a short story, speech text, news text and others. But in this study will analyze sentence patterns and sentence types in two song lyrics by Calum Scott. Usually in a song lyrics consists of phrases, clauses, and sentences, but the study will analyze how many sentences are there. This study aims to find sentence patterns and sentence types in the two song lyrics. This study uses a qualitative method. The results of the study show that there are six sentence patterns and six types of sentences found in the two songs. No Matter What's first song with details as follows; pattern I (S+VT+DO), pattern II (S+int.V), pattern, pattern IV (S+intr.V+SP), pattern V (S+com.V+DO+OP), and pattern IV (S+pre.V+PC). The second song is Dancing on My Own with the following details; pattern I (S+VT+DO), pattern II (S+int.V), pattern III (S+dist.V+DO+IO), pattern IV (S+intr.V+SP), pattern V (S+com.V+DO+OP), and pattern VI (S+pre.V+PC). While the types of sentences from the two songs, No Matter What and Dancing on My Own there are four types. They are simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence, and compound complex sentence.

Résumé :
In three books and numerous articles, Calum M. Carmichael argues for a radical transformation in the way the laws of Deuteronomy are to be understood. His most recent work,Law and Narrative in the Bible, maintains that the legal corpus of Deuteronomy, far from being “law,” rather constitutes “literature,” in which the Deuteronomistic historian reflects upon the full range of pre-exilic Israelite narrative, Genesis through 2 Kings. In the course of this argument, Carmichael makes fundamental assertions about the composition of Deuteronomy, the history of Israelite literature, and the history of interpretation. Carmichel introduces his work as an attempt “to overturn longstanding views on material that has always been in center stage in the study of the Bible” and as “radical in its results.” His work has already generated a series of further studies of narrative allusion and drafting techniques in Deuteronomy that presuppose his arguments.

Résumé :
Bibliography: pages 205-214.
The AM Canum Venaticorum stars are an in homogeneous group of six stars that are characterised by the absence of hydrogen lines in their spectra. The structure of these stars has been the subject of much debate, and single star models were considered as recently as 1992. The prevailing opinion, however, is that the A.Jf eVn stars are semi-detached binaries which consist of a low-mass, degenerate helium secondary which is transferring mass via an accretion disc to a DB white dwarf. Under this model, the orbital periods of the AM CVn systems are in the range 1000 - 3000 s. The AM CVn systems show many of the accretion disc-related phenomena that are observed in non-magnetic (hydrogen-rich) cataclysmic variables. Five of the six systems show low-amplitude optical oscillations with periods between 500 and 2000 s. The oscillations have a complex and variable harmonic structure. Since they are consistent with the predictions of the double-degenerate binary model, the oscillations were assumed to correspond to the orbital period in each system. However, the fundamental periods and their harmonics are unstable, showing amplitude and phase drifts on a time scale of weeks to months. The instability of the photometric periods has therefore been an obstacle to accepting that the AM CVn stars are binary systems. An alternative explanation was proposed by O'Donoghue & Kilkenny (1989): the photometric variations in the AM CVn stars are not their orbital periods, but are caused by the same mechanism that produces superhumps in SU UMa dwarf novae. Superhumps are optical variations observed during the superoutbursts of SU UMa stars with periods a few percent in excess of the orbital period. The superhumps usually disappear as the star declines to quiescence after a superoutburst. Superhumps are thought to be the result of periodic enhancements of tidal dissipation in the outer regions of the accretion disc. In addition to the superhumps in SU UMa dwarf novae, permanent superhumps have been observed in other hydrogen-rich cataclysmic variables. The aim of this dissertation is to present new photometric data and to explore the period structure of four of the six known AM CVn stars to see whether the observations are consistent with a superhump interpretation. The aim is also to draw comparisons between the AM CVn stars and examples of hydrogen-rich cataclysmic variables in which superhumps have been observed, and in this way to strengthen the evidence that similar mechanisms are operating in the hydrogen-rich superhumpers and the multi periodic AM CVn stars.

Résumé :
We live in daily cycles of brightness and darkness throughout our lives. Light is a device, both through natural and artificial sources, that supports the working of our brains in the processing, reconstruction, and classification of information (Galetta, 2014). According to the models of mental processing provided by various individuals in literature, light as a stimulus can induce specific emotions and behaviors in people (Tomassoni et al., 2015). The objective of this thesis project is to study the possibility of using light patterns and motions to support stress reduction and provide people with a feeling of calm in an indoor setting, where access to nature is limited. The participants (n=30) of the study are students and working adults who live in different cities. They have been asked to evaluate the natural elements and what they perceive as calmness and relaxation through the projection of five different sets of skies. The study considers light as a Biophilic design element, which provides people with calm and a sense of well-being in their work environment (i.e., home office, working space). Through the results of this first survey and insight from the study, the author conducted a lighting experiment using a small model and surveyed the participants’ responses on mood and preference to the different lighting conditions in the model. Consequently, it turned out that most of the participants, from both the online survey and through direct physical interaction with the model, mentioned that they would prefer spending their breaks during their workday in a space that has both patterned light and moving light (not static), rather than the absence of light patterns and motion.  By shaping human experience, the study investigates the possibility of using artificial light as a Biophilic design element to provide people with a feeling of calm and, therefore, to support stress reduction in their work environment.

Résumé :
We live in a time were plastic and plastic products are all around us, taking part in our everyday life. Several chemical additives can be present in plastic products, such as plastic bottles, and can have a big impact on development, as well as on the endocrine system in adults by the binding to, and disturbance of, the estrogen receptor (ER) in cells. This study has focused on a number of different plastic bottles made from different types of plastic and with variations in size and scope of use. The aim of the study was to see if any estrogenic substances leached from the bottles into water. Non-ionic water was added to the plastic bottles, and the bottles were kept at 70°C for 72 hours. The estrogenic activity in the water was determined with the U2OS-luc assay and expressed as bioassay-derived estradiol equivalents (Bio-EEQ). A difference in Bio-EEQ could be detected between the bottles and the tree plastic types used in the study. The polypropylene (PP) bottle gave the highest Bio-EEQ of 0.5 pg/ml, whereas High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) gave 0.3 pg/ml and Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) 0.04 pg/ml. These results indicate that there is a small leakage of estrogenic substances from the plastic bottles. Further study is needed to determine whether or not the estrogenic activity in the water could have any significant biological effect in humans.

It has been alleged that a major deterioration was going to be inevitable in the U.S.-Hungarian relations under the Biden Admnistration. Due to political issues, some analysts are ready to expect a low ebb of amity between Washington and Budapest. The present study goes back to the foundations and revisits the nature of the uprgading of those relations in the past four years, the different layers of American policy-making as well as their objective outcomes. This paper argues that in spite of the real potential of conflict in political commmunication, the United States will remain the most important ally and strategic partner of Hungary outside the European Union with enhanced cooperation in many fields, including defense cooperation within NATO. Then the study goes on to revisit different scenarios of the future relationship between Hungary and the United States.

Fall, Kelsey, David Perkey, Zachary Tyler et Timothy Welp. Field measurement and monitoring of hydrodynamic and suspended sediment within the Seven Mile Island Innovation Laboratory, New Jersey. Engineer Research and Development Center (U.S.), juin 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.21079/11681/40980.

Résumé :
The Seven Mile Island Innovation Laboratory (SMIIL) was launched in 2019 to evaluate beneficial use of dredge material management practices in coastal New Jersey. As part of that effort, the Philadelphia District requested that the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center, Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory, collect data to characterize the hydrodynamics and turbidity within the central portions of the SMIIL prior to and during dredge material placement. Pre-dredge monitoring found that apart from punctuated wind events, the study area waters were generally calm and clear with small waves, <0.25 m, slow current speeds (~0.1 m/s), low turbidity (~10 ntus), and low suspended sediment concentrations (~10–20 mg/L). In March 2020, 2,475 m³ of dredged sediment was placed on the northern portion of Sturgeon Island within the SMIIL. Turbidity in the waters surrounding the island was monitored to quantify extent of the sediment plume resulting from the placement. Observations found little to no turbidity plume associated with the dredging operations beyond 20 m from the island and that the plume was largely limited to areas near a tidal creek draining the placement area. Additionally, turbidity levels quickly returned to background conditions at times when the dredge was not in operation.

Résumé :
The RoL method is a visual narrative method that helps people tell stories of the past, present, and future. Individuals can use this method to introduce themselves in a fun and descriptive way. A group can use it to understand and reflect on the past and imagine the future of a project. Besides, it can also be used to build a shared view of a process over time while acknowledging different and perhaps contradictory perspectives. The method uses drawings rather than text, making it useful in groups that do not share a common language. Metaphors from a river are used to explore aspects of a story – such as whirlpools depicting challenges or lakes suggesting a sense of calm etc. When used in a group, it is an active method, engaging people in the process of storytelling and listening through visualising their experiences and using metaphors to explore in depth. In CLARISSA, we adapted the RoL method to document our collective understanding of the story of implementation of the programme as part of the programme’s monitoring, evaluation and learning component. The purpose was to surface the details of our process of the systemic Action Research that we are undertaking with children in the worst forms of child labour and business owners. We used the same river metaphors as is often applied when the method is used with individuals.
