Résumé :
Abstract This essay draws upon Gwendolyn Brooks’ 49-year correspondence (1944–93) with her editor Elizabeth Lawrence to trace the “publishing knowledges” that Brooks gleaned during her mid-20th-century career with the US firm Harpers & Brothers. First and foremost, their correspondence richly details Brooks’s growth as an experimental poet with a mainstream commercial firm. The aesthetic sociality of their editorial debates fostered also allowed them to explore personal and political intimacies; in this dimension, their correspondence (both the letters’ contents and epistolary form) sheds light on how Brooks and Lawrence navigated the shoals of race, gender, and liberalism in the notoriously patriarchal corporate culture of mid-20th-century US publishing. Finally, the arc of Brooks’s relationship with Lawrence at Harper’s charts is how US publishing transformed from its corporate to conglomerated forms. Taken together, these epistolary threads not only weave African American poetry into the literary history of an era-defining institutional realignment but also they demonstrate how Brooks’ and Lawrence’s cross-racial solidarity and commitment to an anti-corporate poetics comprise a continuum between Brooks’s career in mainstream US publishing and her later years in the Black independent press in the late 1960s. [P]ublishing at Harper’s was a shrewd, tactical choice [that] . . serve[d] Brooks’s evolving ideologies about art and politics.

Résumé :
Gwendolyn Brooks has become the doubly disadvantaged poet, mostly because of her "race" as a black woman, and secondly, by consideration for her gender. Such a double pressure is evident in Brooks's poetry. For her race and culture, Brooks took great pride as well as supports, honors womanhood too. However, Brooks's poetry discusses black consciousness and also exposes the essence of the concerns of black women. The Black women, their psychological state as well as their depressed feelings are portrayed in Brooks's poetry. The goal of Brooks is to show the readers, what African American women should be. The major aspect is that women characters are independent women, who reject the boundaries of the appropriate role, by both the Blacks as well as the general Western society. The suffering and resentment of American blacks, the misery with the strength of ordinary black citizens, is brilliantly pointed out by Brooks. She concentrated through her poems on people in general and women in particular. Although, she depicts African American women as moms, wives, sisters, girlfriends, as well as daughters, in different ways. Undoubtedly, Black female characters for Brooks are still victims of racism, slavery, sexism, exploitation, discrimination, injustice, oppression, and violence.

Résumé :
Gwendolyn Brooks has found herself in a double bind, first because of her "race or ethnicity" as an African American, and at that time because of her femininity. Brooks's writing demonstrates this twofold strain. Brooks is proud of her ethnicity and culture, and she also promotes and celebrates femininity. This study aims to examine the subject of racism in Black American poetry using descriptive techniques by examining certain works by Gwendolyn Brooks. So, Brooks attempts to portray the social injustice and oppression of women of her community that occurred in the 1960s of the 20th century. However, Brooks's modern poetry became an attempt to persuade black people to be heavily associated with their history in order to achieve their essential responsibilities in the community. Furthermore, Brooks emphasizes the need for humanistic respect and love as among the most important prerequisites for a happy life.

AbstractThis article examines how mayfield brooks uses spatial, discursive, and vestibular disorientations to intervene within anti-Black regimes of perception in their Improvising While Black (IWB) workshops, which draw from their ongoing life/art project by the same name. Drawing from insights gathered through my participation in IWB workshops as well as through conversations with brooks and other workshop participants, I examine what brooks's guided disorientations do, that is, what they produce kinetically, perceptually, and relationally among participants. I show how brooks's disorientations expand on Sachi Sekimoto and Christopher Brown's conceptualization of racialized regimes of perception by revealing a set of choreographic tropes that undergird those regimes. These include perceiving from a vertical posture, leading movement from the head, navigating based on visual cues while inhibiting responsivity to other senses, turning away from cultural and ancestral context, and relating to self and others as individuals. Drawing on examinations of disorientation within contemporary dance practice and critical race theory, I argue that brooks guides participants into disorienting improvisations that draw attention to, refuse participation within, and generate otherwise possibilities to this choreography.

Résumé :
Phillips Brooks was undeniably one of the most popular preachers of Gilded Age America. Sydney Ahlstrom described Brooks and the liberal Congregationalist Henry Ward Beecher as ‘in a class by themselves, envied and emulated the country over’. Unlike Beecher, however, the rector of Trinity Church, Boston, subsequently Episcopal bishop of Massachusetts, has attracted remarkably little scholarly attention. His few biographers have rarely attempted to place his thought or career in their social or intellectual contexts. With one recent notable exception, little of scholarly value has been written about Brooks. The older biographies have tended to portray him as initially rooted in the evangelical tradition, even though he subsequently became a leader of the emergent Broad Church party. Alexander V. G. Allen concludes, for example, that by the close of his seminary training, Brooks ‘freely accepted the leading truths which are known as Evangelical’. E. Clowes Chorley asserts simply that ‘Brooks never drifted from the heart of Evangelical religion’. Allen and others stress the evangelical origins of Brooks's thought in order to argue for the continuity between the evangelical and liberal streams within American Anglicanism. This portrayal of Brooks as a churchman who somehow retained the essence of an early evangelicalism while later embracing his Church's liberal future has served what Allen Guelzo has aptly called the ‘myth of synthesis’ in Episcopal historiography. Such an interpretation does not view Evangelicals as being forced out of the Church in the 1870s but posits a benign creative synthesis that enabled the Church to transcend the aberrant party battles of the mid century.

Résumé :
AbstractWhy did Mel Brooks name one of the main characters in The Producers (1967) after James Joyce's Leopold Bloom? Tracing the meanings of that name over the course of a half century, from Joyce's Ulysses (1922) to the stage adaptation Ulysses in Nighttown (1958) to Brooks's film, illuminates how the landmark modernist novel not only acquired outsize significance for American Jewish readers but in fact became a Jewish text. Having affiliated itself with highbrow Joycean modernism in a bid for respectability, Jewish culture discovered in the source of that respectability something not so highbrow and hardly respectable at all: an enjoyable perversity rooted in popular comic performance. The Jewish form and content of both Ulysses and The Producers turn out to celebrate ethnic, racial, sexual, and class difference in defiance of Christian norms of taste, health, and citizenship; and it is in Brooks's popular citation of the literary that this defiance becomes visible.

Résumé :
Thom Brooks'sHegel's Political Philosophy: A Systematic Reading of the Philosophy of Rightpresents a very clear and methodologically self-conscious series of discussions of key topics within Hegel's classic text. As one might expect for a ‘systematic’ reading, the main body of Brooks's text commences with an opening chapter on Hegel's system. Then follow seven chapters, the topics of which (property, punishment, morality, family, law, monarchy, war) are encountered sequentially as one reads through thePhilosophy of Right. Brooks's central claim is that too often Hegel's theories or views on any of these topics are misunderstood because of a tendency to isolate the relevant passages from the encompassing structure of thePhilosophy of Rightitself, and, in turn, from Hegel's system of philosophy as a whole, with its logical underpinnings. Brooks is clearly right in holding that Hegel hadintendedthePhilosophy of Rightto be read against the background of ‘the system’ and the ‘logic’ articulating it —nobody doubts that— but there is a further substantive issue here.Shouldcontemporary readers heed Hegel's advice? Brooks's answer is emphatically in the affirmative, and what results is a series of illuminating discussions in which he makes a case for his own interpretations on the basis of systematic considerations, presented against a range of alternatives taken from the contemporary secondary literature, which is amply covered, often in the extensive endnotes to the book.

Résumé :
Abstract This article discusses Jeffrey Brooks’ metaphor of an integrated ecosystem to describe Russian cultural history in the late imperial and early Soviet periods. Brooks’s Firebird and the Fox describes an interlocking cultural system marked by high-low interactions, as a rich Russian folkloric tradition based on fable and popular tales was reworked with remarkable creativity in what he calls an “age of genius.” In response, this article argues that this period of Russian cultural creativity can be seen as coinciding with the extended life-cycle of the Russian Revolution. The subversive, satirical humor and irony running through Brooks’s cultural “play-sphere” was complemented by another tradition: a didactic, instructional, enlightening “teach-sphere” that animated a wide range of intelligentsia and cultural forces shaping cultural evolution and cultural revolution. If the play-sphere highlights the rebellious distance between culture and power, the teach-sphere’s project of transforming the masses reveals their many commonalities. The essay reflects on how the intersections of culture and power shaped early Soviet culture, the avant-garde, and successive phases of Stalinist culture. While Socialist Realism promoted the theoretical declaration of a unified socialist culture, the persistence of differing elements of the cultural system raises the question of Soviet cultural syncretism.

In 1981, George Brooks provided a review of the academic discipline of physical education and its emerging subdisciplines. Forty years later, the authors review how the field has changed from the perspective of one subdiscipline, motor development. Brooks’s text sets the scene with four chapters on motor development from leaders in the field, including G. Lawrence Rarick, to whom the book is dedicated. From this beginning, the paper describes the evolving scientific perspectives that have emerged since 1981. Clearly, from its past to the present, motor development as a scientific field has itself developed into a robust and important scientific area of study. The paper ends with a discussion of the grand challenges for kinesiology and motor development in the next 40 years.

SummaryThe phylogenetic relationships of the nematode species Thelandros scleratus (Oxyurida: Pharyn-godonidae) and Physalopteroides dactyluris (Spirurida: Physalopteridae) were analyzed using the ribosomal 18S rRNAand the mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase subunit genes. The nematodes were recovered from Brook's house gecko, Hemidactylus brooki (Reptilia: Gekkonidae) from Hast-inapur, Meerut (U.P.), India. The results demonstrated that T. scleratus shows 100% similarity with another sequence available from the same species and a close relationship (98-99%) with species of Parapharyngodon in both 18S rRNAand cox 1 regions. Regarding the nematode Physalopteroides. analysis showed a close phylogenetic relationship between P. dactyluris and several species of Phy-saloptera. This is the first sequence of 18S available for any species of the genus Physalopteroides

A clear understanding of destination image is crucial for developing effective marketing and positioning strategies. The purpose of the study is to examine the images of Brookings perceived by actual tourists. An online questionnaire was developed and sent to email subscribers of the largest local event center. A total of 344 valid responses were received. Overall tourists had positive perceptions of Brookings as a tourism destination. The study identified six Brookings’ image dimensions, including Outdoor Activities and Natural Scenery, Atmosphere, Tourism Infrastructure, Value for Money and Convenience, Historic Attractions, and College Town Style. The social and cultural environment is the most favored element in Brookings. As a college town, Brookings was differentiated from other rural tourism destinations. It is suggested that the city and the university work in partnership to increase visitation both to the campus and the community. To enhance Brookings’ image, destination marketers should focus on the low-rated image items and incorporate them in destination marketing materials.

Résumé :
AbstractSupporting a new methodology for the study of classic American popular songs, this article offers a history of both the print editions and recorded versions of “Some of These Days” (1910) by Shelton Brooks. This saga commences with a hitherto unanalyzed precursor to Brooks's famous song that shares nearly the same opening words and melody, the 1905 “Some o' Dese Days” by Frank Williams. It continues through nine major print editions and numerous recorded performances, of which this study examines forty-six, including ten as the theme song for Sophie Tucker. Performers are clearly influenced by both performed and printed variations; more surprisingly, print editions are also influenced by performers. Thus, Tin Pan Alley songs are best viewed as products of collaboration within a community of songwriters, publishers, and performers. Brooks fills “Some of These Days” with compositional details that are conducive to effective performance variations. This elusive intrinsic adaptability represents, for 1910, a modern, innovative quality and is central to any understanding of this song genre. Oft-neglected, such early popular standards—poised at the juncture of musical cultures, oral and print, amateur and professional, live and mediatized—help the critical historian pinpoint aspects that make this repertoire valuable.

Brookite TiO2 was synthesized by a hydrothermal method, g-C3N4 was prepared by a pyrolytic method, brookite/g-C3N4 composites were prepared by a calcining method, and brookite/g-C3N4/BiOBr ternary composites were prepared by loading BiOBr on the surface of brookite/g-C3N4. XRD and XPS analysis of the composites confirmed the formation of brookite TiO2/g-C3N4/BiOBr. SEM and TEM results confirmed the as-prepared composites were nanosized. The optimum loading amount of BiOBr was 30%. The photocatalytic results showed that the brookite/g-C3N4/30%BiOBr composites degraded rhodamine B completely under visible light irradiation. The degradation ratio of brookite/g-C3N4/30%BiOBr toward rhodamine B was nearly 100% for 2[Formula: see text]h, which was much higher than that of brookite TiO2 and brookite/g-C3N4 catalysts. The reason for the improvement of photocatalytic activity might be because the composites promoted the formation of superoxide radicals and the separation efficiency of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. The photocurrent density of the brookite/g-C3N4/30%BiOBr was about 10 times higher than that of pure brookite. In addition, the brookite/g-C3N4/BiOBr showed a good repeatablity of photocatalysis.

Historian opetuksen yhteydessä on viimeisten kahden vuosikymmenen aikana puhuttu erityisesti opetuksen suuntaamisesta sisältöjen opettamisesta historian taitojen ja demokraattisena kansalaisena toimimisen suuntaan. What’s the name of the game? Historical empathy and gamification in history teaching Abstract Objectives of history teaching has been under changes in curricula of basic education and general upper secondary school during the past two decades in Finland. Alongside with history contents, history skills and active, democratic citizenship are emphasized in the curricula. In addition, new teaching methods have been implemented. In this article we study history teaching in general upper secondary school based on a teaching experiment, in which historical empathy and gamification were used. In an eight-hour game students solved the mystery of Kultaranta shootings in 1957. Data was collected via on-line questionaire and interviews. Data was analysed from the viewpoint of James Endacott and Sarah Brooks' definition for historical empathy. According to the results, students’ interpretations were based on cognitive process, and perspective taking as well as affective connection were in margin. Résumé :
Diversification within a cropping system together with no-till (NT) soil management can help to improve soil organic carbon (SOC). The present study was conducted to assess the impacts of crop diversity through crop rotations on SOC and other selected soil properties. The long-term experimental sites were located in Beresford and Brookings, South Dakota, USA. The Beresford site was initiated in 1991 (24 years) on Egan soil series (fine-silty, mixed, superactive, mesic Udic Haplustolls), whereas, the Brookings site was established in 2000 (14 years) on a Barnes clay loam soil (fine-loamy, mixed, superactive, frigid Calcic Hapludolls) under a randomised complete block design with four replications. Treatments at both sites consisted of a 2-year (corn (Zea mays L.)–soybean (Glycine max L.)), and a 4-year (corn–soybean–winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)–oat (Avena sativa L.)) rotation, all managed under NT soil management. Soil samples were collected in the fall of 2015 after crop harvest under the corn phase. Data showed that 4-year rotation increased SOC stock (8.3% in Brookings and 22% in Beresford) compared with that under 2-year rotation (not always significant) in the soil profile 0–60cm. Soil particulate organic matter and organic matter were always higher under 4-year rotation than under 2-year rotation at 0–5 and 5–15cm depths at both sites. Surface soil aggregate stability was improved in both locations under 4-year rotation (12% in Brookings, 4% in Beresford). Additionally, at 0–5cm depth, the 4-year rotation increased light fractions of carbon (18% in Brookings, and 32% in Beresford) compared with 2-year. Results from this study showed that the use of diverse crop rotations (4-year) for longer (>24 years) duration enhanced SOC, carbon and nitrogen fractions, and soil aggregation compared with those under corn–soybean (2-year) rotation.

Résumé :
This article compares an interspecies moment in Howard Thurman’s classic text, Jesus and the Disinherited, and Gwendolyn Brook’s novella, Maud Martha, to consider how Black liberation theology might reimagine the animal-human binarism it has assumed from the Western Philosophical tradition. I contend that an animal-human binarism attenuates the liberationist ethos of black theology, particularly when the animal is centered. To explore this, I first parse out the theological anthropology of Black liberation theology to demonstrate how it has historically occupied a complicated relationship to Western depictions of the human. Then, I argue on the grounds of its own theological convictions, that black theology is obligated to move beyond this ambivalence. As an example, I assess Howard Thurman’s classic essay to discover what insights might be revealed if we reconsider his reading of the mouse’s squeal, considering a comparison to a similar encounter between a human and a pest in Gwendolyn Brook’s novella, Maud Martha. This comparison reveals that Thurman may very well be limited in his capacity to recognize something in the mouse’s defiance. On the other hand, Brooks’ ecowomanist lens may better affirm the defiant mouse. Maud Martha identifies with the mouse so much that she, in contrast to Thurman, spares its life. This moment resulted in her undergoing an unexpected spiritual experience. This experience, according to my reading, is an example of what I am describing as “catching a glimpse” of a liberating deity’s interiority or, what I am considering as a new relation with divine immanence. In other words, in sparing the animal, in seeing the animal as of equal significance, she consequently felt a connection with God. This moment of liberation and divine connection is the ultimate aim of Black liberation theology. An aim we can try to reach by including the animal into our liberationist objective.

Résumé :
Brookite TiO2 is the most difficult TiO2 polymorph to synthesize. The available methods in the literature to produce brookite nanostructures mostly use water-based techniques for the preparation of water-soluble Ti complexes first, followed by a hydrothermal growth of the brookite nanostructures. Besides its multi-step nature, achieving a single brookite phase and optimizing the aqueous growth environment are all issues to be hardly controlled. In this work, pure brookite TiO2 nanorods are synthesized using tetrabutyl titanate Ti(OBu)4 and Sodium Fluoride (NaF) as precursor materials in a simple non-aqueous one-pot solvothermal process. Alcoholysis of only Ti(OBu)4 in ethanol resulted in pure anatase nanoparticles, while the addition of NaF was essential to promote the growth of highly pure brookite nanorods. The phase purity is confirmed by X-Ray Diffraction, Raman Spectroscopy, and High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy. The growth mechanism is explained according to the Ostwald’s step rule, where Na+ ions are anticipated to have a potential role in driving the growth process towards the brookite phase.

Résumé :
We report in this work that sodium doping of brookite TiO2 effectively enhances its photocatalytic activity, which becomes three times higher than that of the quasi-spherical brookite TiO2. The results demonstrated that the sodium-doped brookite NaxTi1−xO2 can be stable up to 500 °C. At 600°C, the sodium in the brookite precipitates in the form of Na2CO3, and above 700 °C, the brookite NaxTi1−xO2 transforms into Na2Ti6O13 by a twinning process with the orientation relationship of [1−2−3]Matrix//[1−23]Twins and (−2−10)Matrix//(1−1−1)Twins. The differences in the ionic radius and the electronegativity between Na and Ti destroy the local atomic arrangement of the brookite structure and produce microstructures such as the core–shell structure, local lattice distortion, interstitial atoms, and atomic vacancies, which are critical to its excellent photocatalytic activity.

An examination of Brookes' mathematical expression of his logarithmic 'law' yields inconsistencies and mathematical er rors. Brookes' 'tunnel' model of perception incorrectly repre sents perception of physical distance. Brookes' 'affinity' with Shannon is shown to be nonexistent. The most significant result is that Brookes' logarithmic 'law' applies to only one communication system which has properties as defined and assumed by Brookes and can not be generalized to any com munication system with properties different from the Brookes' system.

Résumé :
The goal of the research paper is a comparative analysis of Rupert Brooke’s twelve poems and their translations by Vladimir Nabokov. The article deals with biographical, stylistic, metaphysical and intertextual details connecting two writers and their works. The research underlines the following artistic features of translations with reference to Nabokov’s perception of Brooke’s creative personality: 1) Nabokov emphasizes the «other-world» concept in Brooke’s poetry; subsequently this topic has been continually conceptualized in Nabokov’s later prose; 2) Nabokov’s analysis of Brooke’s poetry accentuates sensory imagery; 3) Nabokov’s translation expands and elaborates on the originals’ sensory aesthetics and metaphorical structure. Sensory imagery in Brooke’s poems is structurally compared to the translations with due consideration of coloristics in both writers’ works.

Résumé :
The brookite-phase TiO2 was prepared by a hydrothermal synthesis of titanium chloride solution. The thermolysis time and the pH value of the solution were controlled during the synthesis. X-ray diffraction experiments showed that TiO2 powders partially containing the brookite-phase were successfully obtained. A higher amount of OH- in the reaction solution was found to be important to obtain the brookite phase because the intermediate complex leading to the brookite phase consumes more amount of OH- than other phases like the rutile.

Résumé :
Abstract Cu-doped TiO2 having a brookite phase and showing enhanced visible light photocatalytic activity was synthesized using a mild solvothermal method. The as-prepared samples were characterized by various techniques, such as X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Photocatalytic activity of Cu-doped brookite TiO2 nanoparticles was evaluated by photodegradation of methylene blue under visible light irradiation. The X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the crystallite size of Cu-doped brookite TiO2 samples decreased with the increase of Cu concentration in the samples. The UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy analysis of the Cu-doped TiO2 samples showed a shift to lower energy levels in the band gap compared with that of bare phase brookite TiO2. Cu doped brookite TiO2 can obviously improve its visible light photocatalytic activity because of Cu ions acting as electron acceptors and inhibiting electron-hole recombination. The brookite TiO2 sample with 7.0 wt.% Cu showed the highest photocatalytic activity and the corresponding degradation rate of MB (10 mg/L) reached to 87 % after visible light illumination for 120 min, much higher than that of bare brookite TiO2 prepared under the same conditions (78 %).

Résumé :
This paper presents an overview of the Cowles Commission effort in the area of econometric theory and a critical review of the Brookings Project, but flaws are noted in both efforts. The Brookings part reflects a view of the project as seen by one of the younger members of the coordinating team; it is a view shared to some extent by other members. The paper deals with the research work stimulated by both projects and contains a brief but frank discussion of the emergence of a commercial econometric services industry. Finally, promising areas for future research are noted.

Résumé :
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) polymorphs have recently gained a lot of attention in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The brookite polymorph, among other TiO2 polymorphs, is now becoming the focus of research in DSSC applications, despite the difficulties in obtaining it as a pure phase experimentally. The current theoretical study used different nonmetals (C, S and N) and (C-S, C-N and S-N) as dopants and co-dopants, respectively, to investigate the effects of mono-doping and co-doping on the electronic, structural, and optical structure properties of (210) TiO2 brookite surfaces, which is the most exposed surface of brookite. The results show that due to the narrowing of the band gap and the presence of impurity levels in the band gap, all mono-doped and co-doped TiO2 brookite (210) surfaces exhibit some redshift. In particular, the C-doped, and C-N co-doped TiO2 brookite (210) surfaces exhibit better absorption in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum in comparison to the pure, S-doped, N-doped, C-S co-doped and N-S co-doped TiO2 brookite (210) surfaces.

Résumé :
AbstractAgricultural systems produce both detrimental and beneficial effects on soil quality (SQ). We compared soil physical properties of long-term conventional (CON) and alternative (ALT) cropping systems near Akron, Colorado (CO); Brookings, South Dakota (SD); Bushland, Texas (TX); Fargo, North Dakota (ND); Mandan (ND); Mead, Nebraska (NE); Sidney, Montana (MT); and Swift Current, Saskatchewan (SK), Canada. Objectives were to quantify the changes in soil physical attributes in cropping systems and assess the potential of individual soil attributes as sensitive indicators of change in SQ. Soil samples were collected three times per year from each treatment at each site for one rotation cycle (4 years at Brookings and Mead). Water infiltration rates were measured. Soil bulk density (BD) and gravimetric water were measured at 0–7.5, 7.5–15, and 15–30 cm depth increments and water-filled pore space ratio (WFPS) was calculated. At six locations, a rotary sieve was used to separate soil (top 5 cm) into six aggregate size groups and calculate mean weight diameter (MWD) of dry aggregates. Under the CON system at Brookings, dry aggregates (>19 mm) abraded into the smallest size class (<0.4 mm) on sieving. In contrast, the large aggregates from the ALT system abraded into size classes between 2 and 6 mm. Dry aggregate size distribution (DASD) shows promise as an indicator of SQ related to susceptibility of soil to wind erosion. Aggregates from CON were least stable in water. Soil C was greater under ALT than CON for both Brookings and Mead. At other locations, MWD of aggregates under continuous crop or no tillage (ALT systems) was greater than MWD under CON. There was no crop system effect on water infiltration rates for locations having the same tillage within cropping system. Tillage resulted in increased, decreased, or unchanged near-surface BD. Because there was significant temporal variation in water infiltration, MWD, and BD, conclusions based on a single point-in-time observation should be avoided. Elevated WFPS at Fargo, Brookings, and Mead may have resulted in anaerobic soil conditions during a portion of the year. Repeated measurements of WFPS or DASD revealed important temporal characteristics of SQ that could be used to judge soil condition as affected by management.
