Texte intégralThis dissertation proposes the following research question: how will the competitive environment of commercial banks in Brazil be featured over the next ten years and what are the main strategies and resources that will enable them to compete in that time horizon? To answer it, it was established the overall objective of analyzing the main configuration variables of the competitive environment of commercial banks in Brazil and conceivable corresponding competitive strategies in that time horizon. The research approaches used were semi-structured interviews and a Delphi Panel with Thirteen experts from banking industry: executives, managers, analysts and academics. From a content analysis applied over responses, the main results are: tendency of a growing regionalization of Brazilian banks to Latin America, associated with an internationalization for the African continent; a tendency of enduring concentration of the industry in the country, with restricted operation gaps for small and medium banks; possible disruptions in the competitive arena due to the impact of new technologies on the prevailing banking business model, even from little brokering-related sectors; consolidation of the cell phone as the main catalyst of bank transactions and means of payment. The consolidation of the registered Delphi panel perspectives not only confirm the aforementioned results, but points out that, in this industry, governance, brand and reputation are intangible assets considered most important for the competitiveness of banks in the future. It follows cost efficiency, possible not only thanks to client-access technologies, but also to an extensive review of operations processes and customer relationship management. The research supports the theoretical arguments about the ephemerality of strategic groups and contributes to the discussion and choice of consistent indicators for the measurement of competitive advantage in commercial banks.

Texte intégralThe competitive business environment demands differentiation postures from every company, especially, postures that are capable to develop sustainable competitive advantages. In consequence of their search for competitiveness, companies look for developing their essential abilities through the people who compose it. Amongst different forms of organizational development, training becomes a frequent practice in companies environment. The scientific thought related to the subject emphasizes a necessity of alignment between training and companies strategies, and the capability of producing results. Systematic evaluation of the training and especially its results becomes necessary. In order to delineate the particular characteristics of the phenomenon, this study analyzed qualitative dimensions of a training program called MBA Public Management implemented at Banco do Brasil. The methodology was a case study, based on focus groups, half-structuralized interviews, and secondary data analysis to attain evidences that offered analysis elements of the studied training. It is concluded that the program produced results in the context of the Government Board of the Banco do Brasil, and reached the proposal objectives of the training. Four models of evaluation of training had been studied, and the Model MAIS was considered adjusted to explore the studied course. The training evaluation delineated how much of the model was attended by the program it was observed the presence of the majority of the parameters and absence of some others. It was also observed objective results of the course, for instance the planning of products and the sizing of organizational strategies. There were many of the observed results, which are related to other organizational actions of the studied Board, and they cannot be pointed as resulted from the training. However, the training is pointed as one of the context elements that had contributed with these results. It was also identified results that can be classified as sources of Sustainable Competitive Advantage of the Government Board of the Banco do Brasil, which are associated to MBA Public Management program.

The content covered in this dissertation, entitled "Digital marketing as a competitive strategy: Digital Portal using the Bank of Brazil SA" it is a descriptive and exploratory study. So describes the evolution of information technology in the banking sector and investigates the Digital Portal, available on the platform of this financial institution, contributes to a better relationship between customers three portfolios "Corporate" and that institution, as well as the advantages conferred on the use of it.
O conteúdo abordado nesta dissertação de mestrado, intitulada “Marketing digital como estratégia competitiva: o uso do Portal Digital do Banco do Brasil S.A.” trata-se de um estudo descritivo e exploratório. Assim, descreve a evolução da tecnologia da informação no setor bancário e investiga se o Portal Digital, disponível na plataforma desta instituição financeira, contribui para um melhor relacionamento entre os clientes de três carteiras “Pessoa Jurídica” e a referida instituição, bem como, as vantagens atribuídas quanto ao uso do mesmo.

Texte intégralBank automatism implies agility and improvement in service. At the same time, while stimulating self-service, it disentails personal contact. It can be seen then that this usage has strategic implications for the financial institutions, for it stirs up relatioship changes between the clients and the banks. The Electronic Data Interchange - EDI - establishes the first step in teleservice. The fundamental conceit of the system is the electronic transmission of standardized data from one computer to another. This transfer can be made either via physical conveyance system (magnetic disk or tape) or via conveyance system from computer to computer with no manual intervention. In order to evaluate the above mentioned changes the research was conceived using the Eletronic Data Interchange - EDI - technology for information exchange related to accounting collection between banks and companies. The data was gathered through questionnaires sent by mail to 60 companies that use the banking system of Rio Grande do Sul, having 34 questionnaires returned. The basic aspects to be found out were the benefits of the system, the valorization of the client-bank relationship manifesting themselves in the concentration of business having the former installed the system and in the perception of improvements in the relationship. The results made possible a view of what would be the competitive advantage of the establishment of the system and also what would be the best strategy both for the diffusion and for getting the most out of its application.

O presente trabalho versa sobre a análise e verificação das estratégias jurídicas como recurso de vantagem competitiva, segundo o modelo “Resource –Based View (RBV)”. Para tanto, partimos de uma pesquisa bibliográfica calcada na percepção do direito e das estratégias jurídicas segundo a óptica transversal da escola “Law and Economics”, abordando conceitos de eficiência econômica como ferramenta de aplicação e interpretação do direito. Com suporte em conceitos arraigados de estratégia e vantagem competitiva segundo autores como Porter e Mintzberg especificamos os elementos da estratégia jurídica, bem como a situamos dentro da cadeia de valores da organização e a relacionamos com as cinco forças do mercado. Utilizando o modelo “RBV” para responder à questão problema – se, de fato, as estratégias jurídicas são fonte de vantagem competitiva sustentável ao preencherem os 04 requisitos (valor, raridade, impossibilidade de imitação e substituição) - encontramos na bibliografia pesquisada resposta afirmativa à questão. Resolvemos, então, confrontar a pesquisa teórica com o caso da privatização do Banespa – Banco do Estado de São Paulo, no qual as estratégias jurídico-fiscais e societárias foram decisivas para a aquisição desta instituição financeira por parte do banco espanhol Santander Central Hispânico, concluindo pela real importância das estratégias jurídicas na obtenção e manutenção de vantagem competitiva.

Este trabalho estuda o modelo de planejamento estratégico adotado pelo Banco do Brasil e sua adequação, considerando a literatura sobre o assunto e o porte da instituição. Para a pesquisa de campo, elegeu-se a técnica da pesquisa bibliográfica e documental sobre a Instituição-alvo. Após comparar os dados sobre o modelo de planejamento estratégico da Instituição-alvo com as informações disponíveis na revisão da literatura foi possível elaborar conclusões sobre os assuntos abordados. A pergunta que serviu para orientar a pesquisa foi: qual o modelo de planejamento estratégico mais adequado a ser implementado pelo Banco do Brasil para que o mesmo possa atuar em um mercado globalizado e competitivo? A pesquisa procurou comparar o modelo de planejamento estratégico do Banco com as premissas das dez escolas de administração estratégicas mais conhecidas e proeminentes da atualidade, como, por exemplo, a escola do Design, do Poder, do Posicionamento e a do Planejamento. Com isso, visava-se analisar os pontos fortes e fracos de cada escola e, tendo verificado com qual (quais) delas o modelo da Instituição-alvo mais se identificava, opinar sobre a validade do mesmo para atuar no mercado bancário brasileiro. De todas as escolas enfocadas, percebeu-se que aquela da qual o modelo de planejamento estratégico do Banco do Brasil mais se aproximava era a do Planejamento. Analisando os pontos fortes e fracos de tal escola de estratégia, percebeu-se que, ao segui-la, o modelo do Banco podia atuar a contento no mercado bancário atual, com grandes chances de alcançar suas metas e objetivos corporativos. Concluiu-se que o modelo de planejamento estratégico adotado atualmente pelo Banco do Brasil constitui o mais indicado para que a Instituição possa atuar no mercado bancário brasileiro, contanto que determinadas adaptações sejam efetuadas no mesmo. This work studies the model of strategic planning adopted by the Bank of Brazil and its adequacy, considering literature on the subject and the transport of the institution. For the field research, it was chosen technique of documentary the bibliographical research and on the Institution-target. After to compare the data on the model of strategic planning of the Institution-target with the available information in the revision of literature was possible to elaborate conclusions on the boarded subjects. The question that served to guide the research was: which the model of strategic planning more adjusted to be implemented by the Bank of Brazil so that the same it can act in a global and competitive market? The research looked for to more compare the model of strategic planning of the Bank with the premises of the ten strategic schools of administration known and prominent of the present time, as, for example, the school of the Design, the Power, the Positioning and of the Planning. With this, it was aimed at to analyze the strong and weak points of each school and, having verified with which (which) of them the model of the Institution-target more was identified, to think on the validity of the same one to act in the Brazilian banking market. Of all the focused schools, perceived that that one of which the model of strategic planning of the Bank of Brazil more was come close was of the Planning. Analyzing the strong and weak points of such school of strategy, it was perceived that, to the follow it, the model of the Bank could act contents it in the current banking market, with great possibilities to reach its corporative goals and objectives. One concluded that the model of strategic planning adopted currently for the Bank of Brazil constitutes the most indicated so that the Institution can act in the Brazilian banking market, since that determined adaptations they are effected in exactly.
