Zusammenfassung. Das Emotionswissen von Kindern umfasst neben dem Ablesen von Emotionen aus Gesichtern anderer Menschen auch das Erkennen von externalen und internalen Ursachen von Emotionen sowie das Wissen über ihre Konsequenzen und Regulationsmöglichkeiten. Im deutschsprachigen Raum gibt es bisher kein Testverfahren, welches das Emotionswissen auf diese Weise differenziert und gleichzeitig reliabel und valide erfasst. Mit dem Adaptiven Test des Emotionswissens (ATEM) wird diese Lücke geschlossen. Der ATEM fragt in einem adaptiven Design 6 Teilaspekte des Emotionswissens ab, wobei die 32 Items in eine kinderfreundliche Geschichte eingebettet sind. Der nach der Item-Response-Theorie aufgebaute Test zeigt mit einer Gesamtstichprobe von N = 581 Kindern im Alter zwischen 3 und 9 Jahren gute psychometrische Eigenschaften. In einer Substichprobe von n = 254 Kindern im Alter zwischen 3 und 5 Jahren wurde der ATEM anhand von Korrelationen mit verschiedenen Variablen validiert. Insgesamt eignet sich der ATEM gut zur differenzierten Messung des Emotionswissens bei Kindern.

Objective: Diagnostics of malfunctions of rolling bearings of an asynchronous traction electric motor (ATEM) of locomotives using artifi cial neural networks. Methods: To control and diagnose the technical condition of the ATEM bearing units of locomotives, a hardware-software complex and data analysis methods are used. Results: We investigated the malfunctions of the ATEM rolling bearing of locomotives. The analysis of failures of locomotive bearing units is carried out. Vibration and current signals and the corresponding frequency spectra of an ATEM operating under normal conditions and with various bearing faults are considered. A model for assessing the technical condition of rolling bearings of locomotives has been developed, and the importance of anticipatory diagnostics has been substantiated, which makes it possible to identify defects in advance at the earliest stage of their development. Practical importance: The results of the research can be used in the system for diagnosing the technical condition of rolling bearings of traction electric motors of locomotives in real time.

The continuous wavelet transform (CWT) is used to create maps of dominant spatial scales in airborne transient electromagnetic (ATEM) data sets to identify cultural noise and topographic features. The introduced approach is applied directly to ATEM data, and does not require the measurements be inverted, though it can easily be applied to an inverted model. For this survey, we apply the CWT spatially to B-field and dB/dt ATEM data collected in the Edmonton-Calgary Corridor of southern Alberta. The average wavelet power is binned over four ranges of spatial scale and converted to 2D maps of normalized power within each bin. The analysis of approximately 2 million soundings that make up the survey can be run on the order of minutes on a 2.4 GHz Intel processor. We perform the same CWT analysis on maps of surface and bedrock topography and also compare ATEM results to maps of infrastructure in the region. We find that linear features identified on power maps that differ significantly between B-field and dB/dt data are well correlated with a high density of infrastructure. Features that are well correlated with topography tend to be consistent in power maps for both types of data. For this data set, use of the CWT reveals that topographic features and cultural noise from high-pressure oil and gas pipelines affect a significant portion of the survey region. The identification of cultural noise and surface features in the raw ATEM data through CWT analysis provides a means of focusing and speeding processing prior to inversion, though the magnitude of this affect on ATEM signals is not assessed.

Multipulse airborne transient electromagnetic (ATEM) systems transmit one high-power pulse and one low-power pulse containing more high-frequency EM signals. Such systems have better near-surface resolutions while maintaining the depth of exploration of other conventional systems. ATEM systems are especially suitable for geologic mapping and mineral exploration. The inversion of multipulse ATEM data has been mainly limited to 1D modeling, which is not suitable for complex underground structures. We have investigated an algorithm for 3D multipulse ATEM data inversion based on direct Gauss-Newton optimization with quite-fast convergence. The forward problems were solved in the frequency-domain based on the secondary scattered electrical field equation, and then the inverse Fourier transform and the convolution with transmitting waveform were applied to calculate the arbitrary waveform response and sensitivity matrix in the time domain. To optimize the number of computations and memory, we further used an EM “footprint” concept in our inversions to reduce the forward model size and sparse the sensitivity matrix. The inversion results of synthetic data showed that our 3D algorithm is very effective for inverting the multipulse data with results combining advantageous resolutions of different transmitting pulses. Finally, we applied our algorithm to invert real survey data obtained at McMurray, Alberta, Canada, to further test its effectiveness.

The advent of efficient parallel-detection electron energy loss spectrometers (EELS) in analytical transmission electron microscopes (ATEM) promotes rapid elemental characterization of various materials containing light, as well as heavy, elements at high spatial resolution. In the current study, the microstructures of Udimet 520 and HK-25 were investigated to integrate advances in parallel EELS methods with other ATEM techniques.Thin foils of Udimet 520, a nickel based heat-resistant superalloy, were obtained using common ion milling techniques. Precipitates of the HK-25, a heat resistant steel alloy, were obtained by etching (with Marble's reagent) a polished surface, extracting with a replicating Parlodian film, dissolving the film with amyl acetate and dispersing the resulting particles on holey carbon grids. A JEOL 2000FX ATEM fitted with a Gatan Model 666 EELS system was operated at 200 kV for studies of these alloys.

A recent method called asymptotic Taylor expansion (ATEM) is applied to determine the analytical expression for eigenfunctions and numerical results for eigenvalues of the Schrödinger equation for the bistable potentials. Optimal truncation of the Taylor series gives a best possible analytical expression for eigenfunctions and numerical results for eigenvalues. It is shown that the results are obtained by a simple algorithm constructed for a computer system using symbolic or numerical calculation. It is observed that ATEM produces excellent results consistent with the existing literature.
