There are plenty of studies on academicians that focus on pathogenic approaches, such as work stress treatment or workload burden. Meanwhile, only a few types of research implemented salutogenic framework like well-being, whereas this kind of approach is crucial to bolster the psychological strength and escalate the line of stress tolerance. Therefore, this study aims to dive in and examine the quality of an academician’s well-being in the university using five constructs called PERMA: positive emotions, engagement, relationship, meaning, and accomplishment. The PERMA Profile was used to measure psychological well-being of 159 lecturer in UPI (man= 50, 31%; woman= 39,62%; unidentified= 10,06%) that was chosen by accidental sampling from eight faculties. The descriptive analysis depicted that most academicians in UPI have adequate well-being. Besides, correlational analysis using Pearson on each dimension showed that all pillars of PERMA and well-being had a strong correlation with the most significant value was on "relationship" (r = .873; p .01). On the other hand, loneliness in academicians did not correlate with well-being, yet had a close relation with negative emotions (r= .630; p.01). The dynamics of an academician’s well-being and its implication toward the institution are discussed.

BACKGROUND: Blood loss from diagnostic procedures in critically ill patients needs to be minimized. Traditionally, when drawing blood from arterial lines, the initial sample used to clear the line has been discarded (open method). Use of a temporary reservoir enables this discard sample to be returned to the patient (closed method). METHODS: Critically ill surgical patients were prospectively randomized to the open or closed method of drawing blood from arterial lines. Blood loss to diagnostic sampling was measured in both groups. RESULTS: A comparison study (n = 1657) of these two methods revealed that blood loss to the patient was significantly decreased (P << .01) using the closed method. Mean blood loss per patient per day was 69 mL in the open group (n = 873) vs 35 mL in the closed group (n = 784). CONCLUSIONS: Use of the closed method when drawing blood from arterial lines results in a significant decrease in blood lost to diagnostic procedures.

Résumé :
Our study assessed recent blood pressure (BP) trends according to economic status based on data from 2005 to 2015. In total, 56 873 participants were included and were defined as low, middle-low, middle-high, and high according to their house income quartile. In men, the mean systolic BP ( P < .001, β = −1.95; P = .01, β = −0.61; P = .35, β = −0.19; and P = .04, β = −0.47, from the low to the high group, respectively) and diastolic BP were decreased significantly in all groups ( P < .001, β = −2.18; P < .001, β = −0.77; P = .02, β = −0.40; and P < .001, β = −0.69, from the low to the high group, respectively). In women, the decreasing trends in systolic BP and diastolic BP were statistically significant except in the high-income group. In addition, the percentages of less-than-normotensive and less-than-hypertensive BP in both sexes and the control rate of hypertension on antihypertensive medications increased in all groups. Decreasing BP trends were observed in the recent decade and the gap in health inequities has been decreased, particularly in men in Korea.

Résumé :
Background:The contribution of sports related factors to predicting long-term physical activity (PA) are unclear. The purpose of this study is to examine tracking of PA during key transition periods in youth and to determine the longitudinal associations between sports club participation and PA.Methods:Participants (n = 873, baseline age 10 to 18 years) completed self-report surveys in 2009 and 2014 that included the PACE+ PA tool and sports club participation questions. Spearman correlations assessed PA tracking. ANCOVA analyses examined predictors (sports participation at baseline) of PA (follow-up), adjusting for (a) age and sex; and (b) age, sex, and baseline PA.Results:Tracking of PA was weak-to-moderate (ρ = .16 to .47). Greater sports participation frequency at baseline significantly predicted PA at follow-up (P < .01). Involvement in club sports at an elite level had a medium-to-large effect on PA levels 5 years later [d = .75 adjusting for (a); d = .60 adjusting for (b)].Conclusion:PA should be promoted in youth as tracking coefficients suggest it can, to an extent, continue into later life. The standard achieved in sport has a role in predicting later PA. PA promotion strategies should include frequent, high quality opportunities for sports participation.

Résumé :
139 Background: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy is broadly established in European centers when treating locally advanced gastric cancer. However, there still remain questions as to the benefit of this extended form of treatment in regards to tumor location and stage. Methods: Data obtained in the ongoing prospective, multicenter observational study (German Gastric Cancer Study II) on quality assurance in surgical therapy of gastric cancer containing a total of 2897 patients treated from 01/01/2007 through 31/12/2009 in 145 surgical departments to evaluate. Results: Overall, 506 patients (18.4%) received neoadjuvant treatment in regards to all tumor stages. Of the 530 patients with adenocarcinoma of the gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) 34.5% (n=183) received chemotherapy. In detail, 30.1% (n=873) of the patients were found to be in stage I. In regards to the mean time of survival for advanced stages (III/IV 6th editiion) a survival benefit for patients receiving neoadjuvant treatment (n=356) of 12.0 months was demonstrated versus 10.0 months (p=0.048) for patients not being treated neoadjuvantly. Improved survival through neoadjuvant treatment could not be demonstrated in GEJ tumors, both, comparing different types of GEJ and matching cancer of the GEJ and distal gastric cancer. Overall survival in GEJ tumors is significantly lower (25 months) compared to the overall survival in distal gastric cancers (38 months). In addition, 5-year survival rate of GEJ tumor patients (33.1 %) was distinctly lower than for patients with distal gastric cancer (41.4 %). Conclusions: The results reflect the difficulties of applying currently available study results to daily clinical practice. In order to achieve improved treatment results, requirements in diagnostics, oncological and surgical settings are paramount. Future data of this observational study can provide additional insight for this process.

Résumé :
e18347 Background: DLBCL, the most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in the US, is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. In October 2015, DLBCL was differentiated from other related lymphoma entities with the advent of ICD-10-CM DLBCL-specific codes. With limited real-world data on patients (pts) with DLBCL in the modern treatment era, this study was conducted to characterize these pts. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted using the Optum Clinformatics Data Mart database (01/2013–03/2018). Pts ≥ 18 years of age with ≥ 1 hospitalization or ≥ 2 outpatient visits with an ICD-10-CM diagnosis code for DLBCL (or an antecedent diagnosis of other lymphoma, which may have been assigned before confirmation of DLBCL) after October 1st, 2015 (index date) and no prior ICD-9-CM code for unspecified DLBCL were identified as incident. Pts with an ICD-9-CM code for unspecified DLBCL before October 2015 (index date) were classified as prevalent. At least 12 months of continuous enrollment pre-index date (baseline period) was required. Pts with ICD-10-CM code for primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma (PMBCL), baseline diagnoses of other malignancies such as Hodgkin lymphoma and multiple myeloma were excluded. Characteristics, including baseline comorbidities, healthcare resource utilization, and costs were assessed. Results: Among 4,074 DLBCL pts (3,201 incident; 873 prevalent), mean age ± standard deviation (SD) was 71 ± 12 years; 46% were female. Incident and prevalent pts had mean Charlson comorbidity index scores of 2.7 and 2.3, respectively. Most common baseline Elixhauser comorbidities were hypertension (68.4%), diabetes (31.1%), and cardiac arrhythmia (25.3%) in incident pts and hypertension (62.5%), diabetes (28.3%), and chronic pulmonary disease (20.6%) in prevalent pts. Mean ± SD number of baseline hospitalizations was 0.32 ± 0.83 and 0.21 ± 0.49 in incident and prevalent pts, respectively. Total mean ± SD baseline healthcare costs (before diagnosis) were $24,621 ± 45,628 for incident pts and $19,137 ± 29,307 for prevalent pts. Conclusions: This study documents substantial co-morbid and economic burden of incident as well as prevalent pts with DLBCL.

Résumé :
Cedars (Cedrus deodara (Roxb.) G. Don) are well known as evergreen ornamental trees widely used in horticulture in temperate climates. In March 2013, dieback symptoms were found on cedar trees in different locations (including the campus of Nanyang Normal University) in Nanyang (33°01′ N, 112°29′ E), a southwestern city of Henan Province, China. Characteristic symptoms included needle discoloration and defoliation, canker formation and gummosis on trunks and branches, browning and tissue necrosis under the bark as well as dieback of branches/trunks. Of 873 cedar trees investigated, 139 (16%) were symptomatic. A total of 21 Diplodia sp. isolates were obtained from 102 tissue pieces randomly sampled from the lesion margins of 31 affected trees with a conventional method for isolation of culturable fungal species from plant tissues. Monohyphal cultures were isolated from actively growing edges of colonies to purify the isolates. The purified isolates were grown on 2% water agar with sterilized stems of Foeniculum vulgare to induce their colonies to form pycnidia (4). Unmatured conidia were hyaline, aseptate, and turned light to dark brown with maturity. Mature conidia were aseptate (rarely uniseptate), ovoid with truncated or rounded base and obtuse apex, externally smooth, roughened on the inner surface, and 8 to 11 × 23 to 26 μm (n = 50). These morphological characteristics of the isolates agreed with those of Diplodia seriata (the anamorph of Botryosphaeria obtusa) (5). The rDNA-ITS sequences of two representative isolates (xs-01 and xs-06) were amplified with primers ITS1 and ITS4. PCR products were purified and ligated with PMD-19T vector for sequencing. The rDNA-ITS sequences were submitted to GenBank with accession nos. KJ463386 and KJ549774 for isolates xs-01 and xs-06, respectively, showing 100% identity with multiple isolates of D. seriata (HQ660463, KC461297, and KF535906). Koch's postulates were fulfilled in greenhouse tests on 2-year-old cedar plantlets inoculated by the two isolates. Ten plantlets were used for the inoculation tests for each of the isolates, and their trunks were wounded to a 2 mm depth with a sterilized cork borer (3 mm diameter). The wounds were inoculated by mycelial plugs cut from 7-day-old colonies grown on potato dextrose agar (PDA) plates and wrapped with Parafilm, and those inoculated with pure PDA plugs served as control. Inoculated plantlets were incubated in a greenhouse with alternating cycles of 14 h fluorescent light/10 h darkness under moist conditions for 30 to 60 days at 28°C. Nine of 20 inoculated plantlets developed needle discoloration and shoot blight symptoms similar to those observed on naturally infected cedar trees. The control plantlets remained symptomless during the incubation period. D. seriata cultures were constantly recovered from each diseased plantlet, indicating that the isolated D. seriata isolates were responsible for the disease. D. seriata has been reported as a phytopathogen causing dieback diseases worldwide on multiple woody plant species such as olive (4), mulberry (1), Pinus spp., and Picea glauca (2,3). To our knowledge, this is the first report of D. seriata causing dieback disease on cedars in China. References: (1) M. Arzanlou et al. Arch. Phytopathol. Plant Protect. 46:682, 2013. (2) T. Résumé :
The short-term consumption of foods that differed in energy density (ED) and/or NaHCO3 supplementation, on subsequent food intake and diet selection in sheep were measured. Thirty sheep weighing 35·9 (SD 2·89) KG WERE USED. TWO FOODS WERE FORMULATED: H HAD 11 AND L HAD 8 MJ METABOLIZABLE ENERGY/KG FRESH MATTER. FOUR FURTHER FOODS WERE FORMULATED BY ADDING EITHER 40 G NAHCO3/KG OR 16·5 G NACL/KG TO FOODS H AND L. NACL WAS ADDED TO GIVE THE SAME NA CONCENTRATION AS WITH 40 G NAHCO3/KG TO CONTROL FOR ANY EFFECTS OF NA PER SE. IN A PRELIMINARY TEST, IT WAS FOUND THAT A 2 H CONSUMPTION OF FOOD H SUPPLEMENTED WITH NAHCO3 COULD BUFFER POTENTIAL IMPACT ON THE RUMEN ENVIRONMENT OF SUBSEQUENT CONSUMPTION OF FOOD H ALONE (AS JUDGED BY RUMEN PH AND ACID-BUFFERING CAPACITY); HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT AS EFFECTIVE AS THE CONSUMPTION OF FOOD L ALONE IN DOING SO. EACH FOOD TREATMENT WAS OFFERED TO ONE OF SIX GROUPS (N 5) FOR 2 H FOLLOWING 16 H OF FOOD DEPRIVATION. SHEEP WERE THEN OFFERED A CHOICE BETWEEN H AND L FOR A FURTHER 6 H. SUPPLEMENTING H OR L WITH EITHER NAHCO3 OR NACL HAD NO SIGNIFICANT EFFECT ON EITHER INTAKE OR DIET SELECTION. ED SIGNIFICANTLY (P<0·01) AFFECTED INTAKE DURING THE 2 H SINGLE FEEDING PERIOD, WITH SHEEP OFFERED H OR L CONSUMING 540 AND 663 (sed 37) g respectively, but had no effect on subsequent intake during the choice period. During the choice period all sheep showed a preference for food H, but sheep previously offered L selected significantly more H (0·873 g/g) than sheep previously offered H (0·544 (sed 0·028) g/g; P<0·001). It is concluded that short-term consumption of foods that differ in ED, and hence in their potential impact on the rumen environment, significantly affects subsequent diet selection. This is in agreement with the hypothesis that ruminant animals select a diet to help maintain the rumen environment within a certain physiological range. Food H with 40 g NaHCO3 added/kg may not have been sufficient to affect subsequent diet selection. It is suggested that larger, rather than smaller, changes in the rumen environment achieved through previous feeding should be expected to alter subsequent diet selection.

Résumé :
Background Early adolescent years are marked by pervasive self- and peer-regulation regarding gender and sexuality norms, which can affect the mental well-being of sexual minority youth. During this developmental period, social media use is also emerging as a dominant mode of communication with peers, allowing for both risk and resilient behaviors that can impact well-being. Objective This exploratory study aims to examine how sexual minorities in middle school use social media, who they are connected to and for what purposes, and the associations between these behaviors and mental well-being compared with their heterosexual peers. Methods In our cross-sectional survey study of 1033 early adolescents aged between 10 and 16 years (average age 12.7, SD 1.21 years) from 4 middle school sites in the Northeastern United States, we conducted an exploratory study comparing sexual minorities (212/873, 24.3% of sample with known sexual orientation) with their heterosexual peers (n=661), obtaining an 84.46% (1033/1223; total possible) response rate. Results Sexual minorities reported having smaller networks on their favorite social media website (β=−.57; P<.001), less often responded positively when friends shared good news (β=−.35; P=.002), and less often tried to make friends feel better when they shared bad news (β=−.30; P=.01). However, sexual minorities more often reported joining a group or web-based community to make themselves feel less alone (β=.28; P=.003), unlike heterosexual youth. Sexual minorities had higher averages of loneliness and social isolation (β=.19; P<.001) than heterosexual students. Sexual minorities were also twice as likely to have tried to harm themselves in the past (β=.81; odds ratio [OR] 2.24, 95% CI 1.64-3.06; P<.001) and were more likely to have symptoms that reached the Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression definition of depression (β=.15; OR 1.16, 95% CI 1.08-1.25; P<.001). About 39.1% (83/212) of sexual minorities had no one to talk to about their sexual orientation. Sexual minorities were 1.5 times more likely to have joined a social media website their parents would disapprove (β=.41; OR 1.50, 95% CI 1.14-1.97; P=.004) and more likely to report seeing videos related to self-harm (β=.33; OR 1.39, 95% CI 1.06-1.83; P=.02) on the web than heterosexual youth. Conclusions Given previous reports of supportive and safe web-based spaces for sexual minority youth, our findings demonstrated that sexual minority youth prefer to maintain small, close-knit web-based communities (apart from their families) to express themselves, particularly when reaching out to web-based communities to reduce loneliness. Future longitudinal studies could determine any bidirectional influences of mental well-being and social media use in sexual minorities during this difficult developmental period.

Résumé :
Abstract The University Hospital of Montpellier is the major university hospital in Languedoc-Roussillon, a region with 2.4 milions of inhabitants including 23–26% of the population having more than 65 years. This hospital includes 1015 beds and places in medicine, and 809 in surgery. Total cost of the products for transfusion concerning the hospital is 7 7606 121$. For the hematology department (56 beds, with 130–150 transplantations per year), the cost of the transfusion products represents 39.53% of the whole budget. 21.26% of the total expenditure of red blood cell (RBC) transfusion and 70.17% of the total expenditure of platelet transfusion are from this hematology department. The outpatient clinic of the department (12 beds) is the major localization for transfusing patients with MDS, representing around 20% of the activity in this part of the department. The total fee of transfusion products for this outpatient clinic is 798 739 $ with 351 464$ for RBC transfusion, representing 44%, while RBC transfusion represents 28% of the activity for the whole department, with 19.7% of increase between 2003 and 2004. The activity of hematology is linked to 2 other sites for outpatient and hospitalization in the region of Languedoc-Roussillon (including 35+10 additional beds). Similar increase of the transfusion was observed. New system of price list concerning medical activity in hospitals has been established in France, with a transfusion price fixed at 873$. By using this new accounting, transfusion appears to be slightly in deficit for an outpatient clinic in a university hospital such ours, considering the other medical activities, particularly transplantation and ambulatory chemotherapy. In addition, the number of patients with MDS is increasing in the region, according to the increase of elderness and number of treated cancers. From 01/02 to 04/05, we treat new patients having MDS, excluding AREB-t, by EPO, subcutaneously, from 12 000 to 60 000 UI per week. 85 patients entered this study. The response rate was based on an increase of hemoglobin level superior or equal to 1.5g%, or a reduction superior or equal to 30% of the transfusion consumption observed for more than 6 months. 22% of the patients reached one of these criteria, with 35% of the patients having refractory anemia (RA), sideroblastic RA or 5q- RA and only 12% of the patients having AREB. Only 5% of the patients transfused had a benefit of EPO. In some patients, we observed a dose effect of EPO between 10 000 and 40 000 UI, but at a lesser extend between 40 to 60 000 UI per week, and lasting less than 3 months. Mean duration of the effect was 1.6 year, depending the transformation risk. Benefit of EPO was not correlated with the hemoglobin level at the inclusion but to the status of MDS. Whole data concerning the indirect and direct costs will be presented for this cohort.

Résumé :
Abstract Abstract 873 Background. Philadelphia chromosome positive (Ph+) ALL accounts for 3–5% of pediatric ALL. An international survey on 640 children diagnosed between 1995 and 2005 and treated with chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation (SCT) without the use of tyrosin kinase inhibitors (TKI) recently reported an overall 7-year event free survival (EFS) and overall survival (OS) of 31.2% and 44.2%, respectively. In those years, only limited experience was accumulated on the use of Imatinib (IM) for children with Ph+ leukemia. The EsPhALL study was designed as an intergroup, open-label, randomized Phase II/III study, within the I-BFM-SG network, to assess the safety and efficacy of IM in association with chemotherapy. Ten national study groups participated in the study: AIEOP, BFM-G/CH, COALL, FRALLE, NOPHO, MRC, DCOG, CPH, PINDA and HONG KONG. Methods. Patients 1 to 18 years of age diagnosed with Ph+ ALL were eligible to the study. After the induction phase according to national treatment protocol, patients were classified as Good Risk (GR) or Poor Risk (PR) according to their response to treatment. GR patients were those who achieved both the early response (i.e. blast cell count <1000/ml in peripheral blood after 7 days of prednisone and a single dose of intrathecal methotrexate or M1/M2 bone marrow at day 15 or M1 at day 21) and the complete remission after the frontline Induction course (1st complete remission, CR1). They were randomized to receive IM in combination with chemotherapy (GR-IM) or chemotherapy alone (GR-noIM). PR patients (those who did not achieved early response or CR1 or both) received IM in combination with chemotherapy. Due to the availability of external evidence, the randomization in GR was stopped in 2009 and an amended trial started, with all patients receiving IM continuously. The chemotherapy regimen was modeled upon a BFM high risk backbone and IM was delivered at the dose of 300 mg/m2/day. SCT in CR1 was recommended for all PR patients (any donor) and for GR patients if a genotype-matched donor (9/10 or 10/10 alleles) was available. The primary analysis for the randomized question (ITT) was on disease-free survival (DFS) in GR and EFS in PR patients, not censoring for SCT in CR1, with comparison based on the log-rank test. Results. Between 01-Jan-2004 and 31-Dec-2009, 178 patients (age 1.5–17.9 years) were enrolled and stratified as GR (108; 61%) or PR (70; 39%). Ninety GR patients were randomized (18 excluded for parental refusal or clinical decision); of these, 77% underwent SCT in CR1. Out of 35 PR patients who were resistant to Induction, 80% achieved CR1 after consolidation (Phase IB). 84% of PR patients received SCT in CR1. Relapse was the first event in 23 (33%), 12 (27%) and 10 (22%) of PR, GR-noIM and GR-IM patients, respectively. The most common site was the bone marrow (74%, 92% and 60% in PR, GR-noIM and GR-IM patients, respectively). Deaths in CR1 were 8, 4 and 2 in PR, GR-noIM and GR-IM patients respectively, none being related to IM. The 4-year DFS was 73% (95% CI: 56% – 84%) in the GR-IM arm and 62% (95% CI: 45% – 75%) in the GR-noIM arm (p=0.24), with a 4-year OS of 85% (95% CI: 70% – 93%) and 73% (95% CI: 54% – 85%), respectively (p= 0.37). A secondary ‘as treated' analysis was performed accounting for 13 patients who switched from GR-noIM to GR-IM, with 4-year DFS of 56% (95% CI: 36% – 72%) and 75% (95% CI: 61% – 85%), respectively (p=0.06). The EFS in PR patients was 54% (95% CI: 40% – 65%) at 2-years and remained constant through 3 and 4 years, with a 4-year OS of 64% (95% CI: 50% – 74%).The most frequently reported adverse events (AEs) across the treatment arms were decreased leukocytes, platelets and granulocyte counts, decreased hemoglobin, and infections. There was no significant difference in the overall frequency of AEs across all 3 patients' groups. Severe adverse events rate was 28% in GR-IM group, 32% in GR-noIM and 34% in PR group. Conclusions. Results suggest that the addition of IM to intensive BFM-type chemotherapy regimens was associated with an approximate 10% advantage in long-term DFS in GR patients which, however, the study was not powered to detect. The PR group treated with IM had improved EFS and OS as compared to historical controls. IM was generally well tolerated on top of intensive chemotherapy with a reassuring safety profile. Résumé :
Abstract Tanjung Berikat Coast in Central Bangka, is a part of the Southeast Asian tin belt. We conducted four Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey lines and 13 hand auger coring to understand sediment deposition and composition. Two similar units were determined from GPR lines BLG 01–BLG 03: Unit A at the top part, reflected by parallel and continuous reflector configuration, weak–strong electromagnetic wave. Underneath Unit A is Unit B, characterized by subparallel configuration, not continuous–chaotic, weak–medium electromagnetic wave. Unit B is absent in BLG 04. We identify another two units from BLG 04 and BLG 03, Unit C, characterized by subparallel reflector configuration, not continuous– chaotic, weak–strong electromagnetic wave. It exhibits distinctive modulating contact with Unit D. Unit D is characterized by chaotic reflector configuration, relatively stronger electromagnetic wave that might be correlated to the granite intrusion Tanjung Klabat. Sediment deposit is composed of fine–coarse sand, consisting mostly of clastic plutonic and clastic biogenic (coral and mollusk fragments), which increase downward. This indicates marine-fluvial influence, which suggests that sea-level changes strongly influence sedimentation process. Unit A from GPR is correlated to these sediment deposits, the other three units might be correlated to weathering of older insitu deposit.

Résumé :
ABSTRACT Islamic banking is undoubtedly faced with several potential financing risks, with the three largest financing contracts (Mudharaba, Musharaka, and Murabaha) that reduce the financial performance of Islamic banks. The potential risk is strengthened if the stability of national economic growth is contracted. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the impact of Mudharaba, Musharaka, and Murabaha financing on Financing Risk moderated by the business cycle and the relationship between Financing Risk and the Financial Performance of Islamic Commercial Banks. The sample of this study was 12 Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia during the period 2017-2021. The Data were then analyzed using the technique of Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). Researchers found that Musharaka financing has a significant positive effect on Financing Risk, Mudharaba and Murabaha Financing has an insignificant effect on Financing Risk, and Financing Risk has a significant negative effect on Financial Performance. The Business Cycle does not moderate the Financing of Mudharaba, Musharakah, and Murabaha on Financing Risk. The results can encourage the Islamic Commercial Bank to evaluate the distribution strategy of Musharaka financing, optimize the distribution of Mudharaba and Murabaha financing, and prepare financing strategies that do not depend on macroeconomic conditions. Keywords: Financing Risk, Financing, Business Cycle, Financial Performance.
