Résumé :
Yield performance of primocane-fruiting experimental blackberry (Rubus spp.) cultivars from two breeding programs were evaluated in the southern Appalachian Mountains. The trial consisted of the nine experimental cultivars: NC 533, NC 534, NC 535, NC 537, NC 538, NC 539, APF-27, APF-46, and Prime-Jim®. In addition, rowcovers were applied to split plots in the spring to determine if harvest dates could be advanced. In 2007, five experimental cultivars had comparable high total yields (APF-27, APF-46, NC 535, NC 537, and NC 539), yet only three of these had comparable marketable yields (APF 27, APF-46, and NC 537). In 2008, APF-27 and APF-46 had significantly higher total yield (2234.5 and 2257.3 g/plant, respectively) and marketable yield (1611.2 and 1654.2 g/plant, respectively) than all other experimental cultivars. Rowcover treatments did not increase or decrease either total or marketable yield in any of the experimental cultivars in either year. In addition, rowcovers did not advance the date of 5% or 50% harvest in either year. On the basis of the conditions imposed in these studies, we determined that “APF” selections evaluated in this trial have higher second-year yield than “NC” selections, primocane-fruiting experimental cultivar yields are lower than yields commonly found with floricane-fruiting blackberries, and rowcovers as applied in this study are not a viable option for advancing harvest season of primocane-fruiting blackberries in the southern Appalachian Mountains.

Résumé :
Hot-dip galvanizing of steels is usually performed by immersing the metal in a bath with molten zinc in the temperature range from 450 to 460 °C. In some cases it is necessary to obtain a minimal coating thickness. For example, high-strength bolts and other fixing products require a minimal thickness of the coating because a too thick zinc coating requires additional work on re-threading, which leads to spalling of coatings, a loss of corrosion resistance and, consequently, failure of the entire product. The main aim of this work was to study the influence of elevated temperatures of hot-dip galvanizing on the thickness and microstructure of zinc coatings on bolts and nut preform. The microstructure and elemental composition of the coating were studied by scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersion X-ray microanalysis. It was found that the coating thickness obtained in the range between 475 and 535°C decreases with temperature and reaches a minimum at 535°C. The structure of the coating after high-temperature hot-dip galvanizing was fundamentally different from the structure of the coating made at standard temperatures 450-460°C. This coating formed at 535°C was dense, homogeneous, non-porous and composed of a mixture of the δ and ζ-phases without distinct phase boundaries. That’s why it was recommended to maintain the bath temperature in the range between 533°C and 537°C. It allows us to obtain a hot-dip galvanized coating of a minimal thickness and a good quality on fixing products.

Résumé :
Abstract. Stratospheric volcanic eruptions have far-reaching impacts on global climate and society. Tree rings can provide valuable climatic information on these impacts across different spatial and temporal scales. To detect temperature and hydroclimatic changes after strong stratospheric Common Era (CE) volcanic eruptions for the last 1500 years (535 CE unknown, 540 CE unknown, 1257 CE Samalas, 1640 CE Parker, 1815 CE Tambora, and 1991 CE Pinatubo), we measured and analyzed tree-ring width (TRW), maximum latewood density (MXD), cell wall thickness (CWT), and δ13C and δ18O in tree-ring cellulose chronologies of climate-sensitive larch trees from three different Siberian regions (northeastern Yakutia – YAK, eastern Taimyr – TAY, and Russian Altai – ALT). All tree-ring proxies proved to encode a significant and specific climatic signal of the growing season. Our findings suggest that TRW, MXD, and CWT show strong negative summer air temperature anomalies in 536, 541–542, and 1258–1259 at all studied regions. Based on δ13C, 536 was extremely humid at YAK, as was 537–538 in TAY. No extreme hydroclimatic anomalies occurred in Siberia after the volcanic eruptions in 1640, 1815, and 1991, except for 1817 at ALT. The signal stored in δ18O indicated significantly lower summer sunshine duration in 542 and 1258–1259 at YAK and 536 at ALT. Our results show that trees growing at YAK and ALT mainly responded the first year after the eruptions, whereas at TAY, the growth response occurred after 2 years. The fact that differences exist in climate responses to volcanic eruptions – both in space and time – underlines the added value of a multiple tree-ring proxy assessment. As such, the various indicators used clearly help to provide a more realistic picture of the impact of volcanic eruption on past climate dynamics, which is fundamental for an improved understanding of climate dynamics, but also for the validation of global climate models.

Résumé :
Aim of our study is to implement RNA-sequencing as basis for risk adapted and targeted treatment-strategies in multiple myeloma. We establish assessment of malignant plasma cell proliferation and risk-stratification de novo (HDHRS) by RNA-sequencing, transfer microarray-based risk scores to RNA-sequencing, and report expression of actionable including immune-oncological targets. Methods. Transcriptome profiling was performed on CD138 purified malignant plasma cell samples from previously untreated symptomatic multiple myeloma patients undergoing high-dose melphalan treatment and autologous stem cell transplantation. RNA-sequencing was performed on an Illumina NextSeq500-platform using 5ng of total RNA (n=535), and, in the same cohort, by gene expression profiling using Affymetrix U133 2.0 DNA-microarrays (n=534). iFISH was performed using a ten-probe panel (n=535). Clinical data and survival of patients treated with high-dose therapy and autologous stem cell transplantation were assessed (n=534/533/534 for RNA-seq/GEP/iFISH) with median follow up of 64 months. Data were validated using the independent COMPASS cohort (n=767 pts., median follow up of 31 months). Results. RNA-sequencing is feasible in more than 90% of myeloma patients. It allows assessment of proliferation (RPI) and risk, both de novo (HDHRS) and regarding microarray-based scores (UAMS GEP70-, EMC92-, Rs-score). All scores are significantly predictive for overall and event-free survival in GEP are likewise in RNA-seq with hazard ratio for high risk to low risk group of 3.06, 4.3, 2.84, 3.93 and 3.30 in overall survival of test group. (See as example gene expression based proliferation index / RNA-seq based proliferation index, Fig. 1). The de novo RNA-seq risk stratification (HDHRS) superiorly delineates three significantly different groups of 40%, 38%, and 22% of patients with 5-year survival rates of 84%, 67%, and 32%, respectively (Fig.2). It likewise discerns a group of long term surviving patients with a survival rate of 57% and 49%, at 10 and 12 years, respectively. Targets expressed in normal plasma cells with varying expression height in malignant include BCMA and CD38, those aberrantly expressed CSF1, CD20 and HGF. Mutated actionable transcripts include BRAF V600E/K (target), the proteasome and cereblon (resistance). In conclusion, RNA-seq allows assessment of risk, long term survival and targets in multiple myeloma both in phase III multicenter trials as well as in clinical Routine. Résumé :
Justinian I’s Novel 139 The article is devoted to Justinian I’s Novel 139 entitled “Remission of the penalty for unlawful marriages”. The author presents the Greek text of the novel with his own translation and commentary. Issued between 535 and 536, the novel was the ruler’s response to a petition submitted to Florus, the comes sacrarum rerum privatarum, by the inhabitants of the village of Sindys as well as Jews from Tyre. They asked in it to be allowed to stay with their wives and for their children to be regarded as legitimate, and to be spared the sanctions for incest provided for in Justinian’s Novel 12. The emperor granted such one-off pardon provided that each of them paid ten pounds of gold.

INTRODUCTION. More than 36 million people die from NCDs each year (63 % of deaths worldwide), of which 14 million people die prematurely, that is, before the age of 70 years, the majority could be prevented through the organization of continuity and consistency in the organization of health care. In 2021, based on the experience of developed countries of the world, a standard form of the «Algorithm» for patient care in an outpatient setting after hospital treatment was developed (including stages of observation, periods of clinical examination and mechanisms for organizing rehabilitation services, including diet, exercise therapy and sanatorium-based treatment). A study was conducted among patients diagnosed with coronary heart disease regarding the organization of continuity and consistency of rehabilitation services after inpatient treatment in conditions outpatient clinics in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent. AIM. To study the practice of applying the organization of continuity and consistency in the provision of medical care for NCDs in Uzbekistan. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The materials were the results of a study of patients diagnosed with coronary heart disease in 2021 — 537 patients and in 2022 — 596 patients in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent. Retrospective, analytical research methods were used for the analysis. RESULTS. In 2021, a total of 537 patients diagnosed with coronary heart disease received inpatient treatment in family clinics of the Yakkasaray district, and only 195 (36 %) brought discharge summaries, 195 (100 %) patients were taken for treatment as prescribed by doctors at outpatient clinics — control, 173 (88 %) 10 (5 %) underwent ECG and EchoCG, respectively, and 12 (6 %) patients were sent to sanatorium treatment. In 2022, in family clinics of the Yakkasaray district, a total of 596 patients received inpatient treatment, of which 535 (89 %) brought a discharge summary of inpatient treatment, 535 (100 %) patients were taken for D-control as prescribed by doctors from outpatient clinics, 535 (100 %) active patronage was established with an explanation of proper nutrition, physical activity, physiotherapeutic treatment, and 84 (16 %) patients were sent to sanatorium treatment. CONCLUSION. Continuity and consistency are important in improving the quality of medical care, so healthcare organizers need to introduce new methods and improve existing approaches to improve the relationship between inpatient and outpatient clinics.

Experimental studies of collisional broadening and shift of the 535 nm thallium line perturbed by neon and argon were performed using a pressure-scanned Fabry-Perot interferometer. The 535 nm line was excited by irradiation of the thallium vapour with the resonance thallium line (377.68 nm). The present results are compared with previous experimental data obtained by different methods as well as with theoretical ones.

Résumé :
Abstract A simple, novel, sensitive, and specific spectrophotometric method was developed and validated for the determination of azithromycin (AZ), clarithromycin (CLA), and roxithromycin (ROX) in bulk powders and their dosage forms. The proposed method was based on the interaction of any of the cited drugs with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine in the presence of an acid catalyst, followed by treatment with a methanolic solution of potassium hydroxide; an intensely colored chromogen was formed that was measured in dimethylformamide, as the diluting solvent, at 542−545, 523−526, and 539−542 nm for AZ, CLA, and ROX, respectively. All variables affecting the development of the measured chromogens were studied and optimized. Beer's law was obeyed in the concentration ranges of 540, 535, and 535 μg/mL for AZ, CLA, and ROX, respectively, with good correlation coefficients (0.99910−9999). The limits of detection for this method ranged from 0.77 to 1.47 μg/mL, and the relative standard deviations were 1.24−1.8%. The proposed method was applied successfully to the determination of the 3 drugs in pure bulk form, tablets, and suspensions without interference from commonly encountered additives. The results compared favorably with those of a previously reported method. The mechanism of the reaction was also studied.
