Résumé :

Haploglenius decorus sp. n. is described from French Guiana and Ecuador and compared to other Haploglenius species known from South America. Haploglenius latoreticulatus van der Weele, 1909 (stat. n.) is moved to new status, the species is compared to Haploglenius luteus (Walker, 1853) and Haploglenius handlirschi van der Weele, 1909. Haploglenius neoguineensis Navás, 1914 (syn. n.) is a new junior synonym of Haploglenius latoreticulatus van der Weele, 1909. Type specimen of Haploglenius neoguineensis Navás, 1914 from New Guinea is mislabeled since all Haploglenius species live in South America. Neohaploglenius rondonianus Penny, 1982 (syn. n.) is a new junior synonym of Verticillecerus gerstaeckeri van der Weele, 1909. With 15 figures.

O Pensamento de Gabriel Marcel situa-se nos discursos e debates sobre Filosofia, Dramaturgia e Música. Marcel foi um escritor fecundo, profundo e engajado. Ao longo de sua trajetória, produziu dezenas de obras científicas e ensaios sobre Filosofia. Entre seus estilos e produções literárias, destaca-se a dos Fragmentos. Nesse sentido, os Fragmentos Filosóficos (1909 - 1914) revive Marcel na sua juventude, aos vinte anos de idade, despontando como um pensador influente das Ciências Humanas. Os objetivos deste trabalho visam tanto colocar em relevo as questões inicias mais profundas, que serviram para Marcel preparar o caminho a uma criação futura, como brindar a Série Fenomenologia e Existência da UNIOESTE. A pretensão é apontar subsídios fenomenológicos que consigam ajudar o leitor a desvelar o sentido de suas próprias concepções e indicar vias de pesquisas e abordagens sobre a configuração do processo de compreensão do Ser, que envolve a multidimensionalidade do homem e suas possibilidades, no contexto de uma cultura da técnica e funcionalizadora da condição humana.

Extant and fossil genera and species in the Libytheinae (Nymphalidae) are revised and reviewed. The Libytheinae includes two genera: Libythea Fabricius and Libytheana Michener. Fifteen species and an additional 24 subspecies are recognized and 41 names are synonymized. Keys to genera, species, and subspecies are included along with a discussion of the taxonomic history of the subfamily. Diagnostic characters are also presented along with brief comments on the distribution and biology of each species.

Th e diagnoses of the genus Eupyrgota and the subgenus Eupyrgota (s. str.) are reconsidered. E. alienata (Walker, 1861) comb. n., E. brahma (Hendel, 1914), comb. n., E. aequalis (Malloch, 1939), comb. n., E. angustifrons (Bezzi, 1914), comb. n., and E. armipes (Hendel, 1914), comb. n. are transferred into Eupyrgota (s. str.). Th e following synonymy is established: Eupyrgota Coquillett, 1899 = Apyrgota Hendel, 1909, syn. n.; E. alienata (Walker, 1861) = E. scioida Hendel, 1908, syn. n.; and E. brahma (Hendel, 1914) = Adapsilia nocturna Bezzi, 1914, syn. n. (type species: Adapsilia flaviseta Malloch, 1929) is established; it shares the presence of the nipple-like processes of the prosternum, a generally robust appearance, and presence of 3 pairs of scutellar setae with members of the subgenus Eupyrgota s. str., diff ering by the absence of paired ventro-apical hooks on the oviscape.

Frente a esta situación, el presente trabajo busca aproximarse al perfil social de los sectores que comenzaron a jugar el balompié en la capital mexicana y de quienes se acercaron a este deporte en calidad de espectadores. Además, el artículo reconstruye algunas características de la práctica del balompié entre 1901 y 1909, así como de la primera transformación de estas entre 1909 y 1914.

Статья посвящена истории изучения киевского храма Спаса на Берестове. Началом фундаментального комплексного архитектурно-археологического исследования этого храма стали работы, проведённые выдающимся учёным, основателем современной методики изучения древнерусской архитектуры, академиком П. П. Покрышкиным во время капитального ремонта-реставрации церкви в 1909-1914 гг. Однако данные о раскопках П. П. Покрышкина (дневники, отчёты, обмеры) отсутствуют, поскольку работы прервались с началом Первой мировой войны и все материалы, за исключением фотографий, были утеряны. В данной работе на основании всех имеющихся данных, в том числе неопубликованных архивных источников, с которыми мы ознакомились, воссоздается картина архитектурно-археологических исследований и ремонтно-реставрационных работ церкви Спаса на Берестове в 1909-1914 гг., произведенных под руководством сотрудника Императорской археологической комиссии, академика архитектуры П. П. Покрышкина. Приведён ряд выработанных и применённых им на этом объекте методологических принципов и мер, позволивших значительно повысить степень научной достоверности восстановления памятника. В результате исследования показано, какую роль в формировании современных исходных принципов научной реставрации памятников архитектуры сыграло восстановление этого храма. The article is devoted to the history of the study of the Kiev Church of the Savior on Berestovo. The beginning of the fundamental complex architectural and archaeological research of this temple was the work carried out by the outstanding scientist, the founder of the modern method of studying ancient Russian architecture, academician P. P. Pokryshkin during the overhaul and restoration of the church in 1909-1914. However, data on the excavations of P.P. Pokryshkin (diaries, reports, measurements) are absent, since the work was interrupted due to the outbreak of the First World War and all materials, with the exception of photographs, were lost. In this work, on the basis of all available data, including unpublished archival sources with which we got acquainted, a picture of architectural and archaeological research and repair and restoration work of the Church of the Savior on Berestovo in 1909-1914, carried out under the guidance of an employee of the Imperial Archaeological commission, academician of architecture P.P. Pokryshkin. A number of methodological principles and measures are given that were developed and applied by P.P. Pokryshkin at this monument, which made it possible to significantly increase the degree of scientific reliability of the restoration of the monument. As a result of the study, it is shown what role the restoration of this temple played in the formation of the modern initial principles of the scientific restoration of architectural monuments.

Un spécialiste de Trakl a récemment émis l’hypothèse que la sœur du poète a eu un enfant de son frère, et que c’est la cause de la fausse-couche de Gretl en mars 1914. Il étaie son' hypothèse sur des passages de poèmes de 1914, notamment Abendland , qui évoquent la sœur dans un contexte négatif, ou bien un mort-né. Le présent essai est d’accord avec l’idée d’un enfant né des rapports incestueux de Trakl avec sa sœur, mais met en doute la date en se fondant sur de nombreuses allusions à un mort-né dans des poèmes d’avant 1914, et surtout sur une lettre de Gretl remontant à son époque viennoise (1909-1910), et sur une phrase du poème en prose Traum und Umnachtung.

The taxonomy of the Indo-West Pacific rhizopine genus Typhlocarcinops Rathbun, 1909 (Pilumnidae) is revised and 22 species are recognised. The identification of these small, soft sediment-dwelling crabs has been difficult because many of the types have never been figured and described to modern standards. The identity of the type species, T. canaliculatus Rathbun, 1909, is clarified and T. gallardoi Serène, 1964, is shown to be its junior synonym. Similarly, T. genkaiae Takeda & Miyake, 1972, and T. takedai Ng, 1987, are synonymised with T. decrescens Rathbun, 1914, and T. marginatus Rathbun, 1914, respectively. Nine new species are described: T. robustus, T. hamus, T. raouli, T. atimovatae, T. hadrotes, T. hirtus, T. diminutus, T. kanashi and T. lapillus. The various species are defined by a suite of carapace, cheliped, third maxilliped, male pleonal and male first gonopod characters. The type and only known specimen of the poorly known rhizopine Paraselwynia ursina Tesch, 1918, which is superficially similar to Typhlocarcinops, is figured and compared. A key to all known species of Typhlocarcinops is provided.

[A school on the outskirts of Galicia. The private gimnazjum in Borshchiv 1909–1914] The secondary school (gimnazjum) in the town of Borshchiv (Borszczów) was established in 1909. An important figure who took part in its creation was Count Tadeusz Czarkowski-Golejewski. Though the school had existed for a short period before the First World War, it utilized interesting educational solutions based on student autonomy, relationship with the parents and combining intellectual and physical effort. In the local community the school gave the incentive to develop regionalism. Due to a large number of auditors taking part in the lessons, and evening courses for girls, elements of co-education were introduced in the provinces. Co-operation with branches of the “Falcon” Polish Gymnastic Society as well as involvement of local medical community made it possible to popularize physical education and provide medical and hygienic supervision to a large group of young people. The pedagogical offer of the school was above all directed to Polish people from the town and its vicinity, which was evident in the changing ethnic and religious structures.

Elle cherche une « modernité » qui échapperait à la fois à l'éphémère des modes et à l'académisme. C'est Henri Ghéon qui définit le plus précisément ce « classicisme moderne ». La plupart des collaborateurs de La N.R.F. sont proches de cette position. Apollinaire, Picasso, Braque sont méconnus. La revue reste étrangère au futurisme, au cubisme. Alors que l'avant-garde donne de plus en plus de place à la poésie, La N.R.F. lui en accorde peu ; elle multiplie les mises en garde et les conseils de prudence. The neotenic click-beetle genus Selasia Laporte, 1838 has a centre of diversity in the tropical Africa but also includes several species known from the Palearctic and Oriental regions. In this study, we review the Selasia fauna of Sri Lanka. We describe S. ivanae sp. nov., redescribe S. apicalis Pic, 1914, and discuss the systematic placement of S. isabellae Bourgeois, 1909, which is probably a firefly and is considered incertae sedis.

Eupyrochroa Blair, 1914 is a small genus of fire-colored beetles (Coleoptera: Pyrochroidae) with two putative species recorded from limited historical distributions in China. The two species, E. insignita (Fairmaire, 1894) and E. limbaticollis (Pic, 1909), have been distinguished on the basis of color differences in the pronotum and scutellum, characters now known to exhibit significant variability. In the present study, adult morphology of the two species was compared, and partial fragments of cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) from 36 samples representing 14 pyrochroid species were obtained by extraction and a GenBank search. Nucleotide composition, genetic distance, and phylogeny were analyzed. The results of morphological and molecular analyses indicate consistency, suggesting that the two “species” are indistinguishable by any significant measure. Therefore, Eupyrochroa limbaticollis (Pic, 1909) is proposed as a junior synonym of E. insignita (Fairmaire, 1894). The species is also redescribed and illustrated, including both adults and larvae.

A tanulmány a békefenntartás XIX. századi magyar gyökeréig nyúlik vissza. A missziók személyi állományának kiválasztása, felkészítése és hozzátartozóikról speciális gondoskodás biztosítása már a XIX. században is fontos feladatként jelentkezett. E teendők napjainkban is az élvonalban állnak. 1897–1898-ban Krétán, 1900–1914 között pedig Kínában teljesítettek szolgálatot a magyar békefenntartók. A Balkánon 1903–1909, valamint 1913–1914 között működött magyar békefenntartó misszió. A magyar békefenntartói tevékenység a XX. század második felében folytatódott. Először a vietnámi háború zárásának részeként vettek részt magyar katonák békefenntartásban. Az első rendvédelmi békefenntartásra magyar részvétellel 1989-ben került sor Afrikában. Ezt követte a kambodzsai, mozambiki, angolai, nyugat-szaharai, egyiptomi és jugoszláviai misszió. A missziókban résztvevők kiválasztása felkészítése fokozatosan formálódott, fokozatosan forrta ki magát a napjainkban alkalmazott eljárás.

This article discusses the little-known Russian reviews of Sergei Diaghilev's ballet company. It argues that Diaghilev's reputation and social position in Imperial Russia affected how his troupe and the works famous in Western Europe were regarded in the Russian press. In Russia, Diaghilev was accused of exporting a false image of Russia as a semi-Oriental nation of barbarians. Russian critics found evidence for this from the predominantly Orientalist reviews appraising the Ballets Russes in Paris and London. They also judged their Western colleagues incompetent for not corresponding to the Russian idea of what was important in ballet as an art form.

La période précédant la Première Guerre mondiale voit l’aviation militaire française connaître ses premiers balbutiements. La réflexion sur l’emploi d’une aviation dédiée aux opérations militaires impose aux décideurs militaires la constitution d’un ensemble d’infrastructures appropriées et dédiées à cette nouvelle arme. L’émergence de terrains d’aviation militaire correspond à des besoins nouveaux. Tout d’abord, la mise en place d’une organisation de l’aéronautique militaire commande de disposer de pilotes ayant reçu une instruction aéronautique spécifiquement militaire, et non plus civile. Ensuite, les missions dévolues aux avions militaires, principalement la reconnaissance et l’observation, induisent que les terrains d’accueil soient proches des états-majors. Ainsi, l’expérience tirée par le commandement militaire durant cette période, notamment sur les critères géographiques d’implantation des terrains, permet au ministère de la Guerre de relancer le développement de l’aviation militaire dès 1915, une fois passé l’illusion d’une guerre courte.

Parnassius apollo (Linnaeus, 1758), known from the Crimea by only few historical specimens, declared here as a species erroneously placed into the Crimean fauna. This erroneous placement was based on mislabelled specimens. We prove that Parnassius apollo breitfussi Bryk, 1914, is a junior subjective synonym of P. apollo suevicus Pagenstecher, 1909, which material in fact was mislabelled over a century ago. We also show that the label ‘Djankoi’ under male holotype of P. apollo breitfussi appeared after 1966 but not when the subspecies was described.

Kamiński Theater in Warsaw: The First Years (1911–1914) The article focuses on the artistic activity of the Kamiński Theater in Warsaw (1/3 Oboźna Street) prior to World War I. First, it reviews publications related to the topic which present varying facts and dates. Then the author confronts these scholarly works with Yiddish dailies. Based on the Warsaw Yiddish daily Der Moment, she determines that Yiddish performances of the troupe run by Avrom-Yitskhok Kamiński started as early as June 1911, not 1913 or 1909 as previously thought. The Kamiński Theater building was used not only by Jewish but also by Polish, Russian, and Ukrainian theater troupes.

U razmatranom desetljeću analiziraju se usporedni podaci mirnodopskoga razdoblja (1909. – 1913.) i razdoblja Prvoga svjetskog rata (1914. – 1918.), tijekom kojega su, uz novačenje i rekviziciju uroda i stoke, župljani Svetvinčenta u svibnju 1915. obuhvaćeni i naredbom o evakuaciji stanovništva. Uz to, Istru je, a time i župu Svetvinčenat, 1917. pogodila jedna od najtežih suša 20. stoljeća. En España a raíz de los sucesos de la Semana Trágica de Barcelona de 1910, con el pretexto de la protección a la infancia y el de la educación física, los sectores más conservadores y reaccionarios articularon instituciones regeneracionistas y patrióticas que modelaron las mentalidades y los cuerpos de la infancia socialmente desprotegida con finalidades productivas y violentas. Sobre este contexto se emplaza el objetivo de este artículo que se propone argumentar cómo este nacionalismo español estableció unas medidas pro-infancia con el propósito de concebir unos dispositivos disciplinarios para hacer de los impúberes un blindaje ofensivo de la unidad católica-nacional. Una metodología histórica-documental centrada en las fuentes primarias de la prensa de Madrid y Barcelona sitúan los textos originales en una hermenéutica crítica que se apoya en otros estudios relativos a la época y vinculantes al objeto de estudio. Se concluye que al llegar el 18 de julio de 1936 muchos de estos niños, ya hombres viriles, habían asimilado el marco mental guardián de la unidad territorial del Estado-católico y, también, a condenar a los que no eran como ellos, los “malos españoles” que había que eliminar.

Recent veto player work argues that majoritarian regimes such as the United Kingdom have better fiscal discipline and smaller welfare states than proportional regimes with more veto players. An analytic narrative of the failure of land value taxation in the United Kingdom between 1909 and 1914 shows, however, that it failed not because of previously advanced reasons, but because the number of veto players in British politics was sharply increased. This increase in veto player numbers prevented a tax increase. All seven of the conventional reasons for characterizing the United Kingdom as a low-n veto player regime failed to hold between 1906 and 1914. Observable implications discussed include the need to review the entire history of British politics in this period in the light of the temporary increase in veto players; and the ambiguous implications of number of veto players for fiscal discipline.

New distributional records for two Cordulecerus Rambur, 1842 species are also presented. The taxonomic status of Nephelasca crocea Navás, 1914 is discussed. Another is a previously unrecognised allusion to Parsifal in the Passacaille of Ravel's Trio (1914), which he composed shortly after writing a review of the opera's premiere in Paris. Additional Wagnerisms can be located in Daphnis et Chloé (1909–12) and L'Enfant et les sortilèges (1920–5). More broadly, Wagner plays a central role in the ‘decadent dialectics’ of Ravel's style.

Résumé :

Abstract This is the first review of life cycles of trematodes with parthenitae and larvae in freshwater gastropods from forest biocoenoses of Ukrainian Polissia. Altogether 26 trematode species from 14 families were found circulating in 13 ways in molluscs from reservoirs connected with forest ecosystems of the region. Three-host life cycle is typical of 18 trematode species, two-host life cycle has found in 7 species, and four-host cycles has found in one species. Alaria alata Goeze, 1782, has three-host (Shults, 1972) and four-host cycles. Opisthioglyphe ranae (Froehlich, 1791) can change three-host life cycle to two-host cycle replacing the second intermediate host (Niewiadomska et al., 2006) with the definitive host. Species with primary two-host life cycle belong to Notocotylidae Lühe, 1909, Paramphistomidae Fischoeder, 1901 and Fasciolidae Railliet, 1758 families. Trematodes with three-host cycle have variable second intermediate hosts, including invertebrates and aquatic or amphibious vertebrates. Definitive hosts of trematodes are always vertebrates from different taxonomic groups. The greatest diversity of life cycles is typical for trematodes of birds. Trematodes in the forest biocoenoses of Ukrainian Polissia infect birds in six ways, mammals in three, amphibians in four, and reptiles in one way. The following species have epizootic significance: Liorchis scotiae (Willmott, 1950); Parafasciolopsis fasciolaemorpha Ejsmont, 1932; Notocotylus seineti Fuhrmann, 1919; Catatropis verrucosa (Frölich, 1789) Odhner, 1905; Cotylurus cornutus (Rudolphi, 1808); Echinostoma revolutum (Fröhlich, 1802) Dietz, 1909; Echinoparyphium aconiatum Dietz, 1909; Echinoparyphium recurvatum (Linstow, 1873); Hypoderaeum conoideum (Bloch, 1782) Dietz, 1909; Paracoenogonimus ovatus Kasturada, 1914; Alaria alata Goeze, 1782.

Lenin's harsh evaluation was not unique. Social Democrats oftendenigrated SR activities among the proletariat, whom the SDs, as Marxists, claimed as their exclusive constituency. In 1902 Iskra described the worker-oriented Petersburg SR Committee as "half-mythical" and Martov wrote that the SRs were neither socialist nor revolutionary; he and other SD contributors to the multi-volume Obshchestvennoe dvizhenie v Rossii v nachale XX-go veka, which appeared between 1909 and 1914, expressed their view of SR efforts among workers by maintaining virtual silence on the subject? After the revolution, SD labor activists such as S. A. Lozovskii and P. A. Garvi portrayed the trade union and cooperative movements as almost exclusively SD in orientation.
