Résumé :
The article presents the life path and professional activity of Askochensky brothers from the clergy family. The elder brother Victor (1813–1879) chose for himself the mission of improving and developing the spiritual sphere of a person. The younger brother Arystarkh (1817–1896) received medical education. He worked as a zemstvo doctor in the Yekaterynoslav region (modern Dnipro-petrovsk region). He became a doctor of medicine, a military doctor. The Askochensky brothers made a significant contribution to the development of medical science and practice, to the journalistic and cultural-educational spheres.

This article is dedicated to the surgeon A. A. Keeter (1813 -1879). He was one of the prominent students of N. I. Pirogov. He made a significant contribution to the science and clinical medicine. A. A. Keeter popularized new surgical techniques in gynecology and was the head of the first gynecological clinic in Russia. This clinic was opened in 1842 in Saint Petersburg State Medical Surgical Academy. He published the first detailed manual “Gynecologic diseases guidelines” in 1858. Moreover A.A. Keeter was the first surgeon in Russia who performed vaginal hysterectomy with successful result. Keeter was an outstanding scientist and founder of Russian surgical school.

Eutheiini of the French fauna. II. The genus Eutheia Stephens, 1830 (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Scydmaeninae). A synthesis of the data about morphology, taxonomy, ecology, biology and chorology of the French species belonging to the genus Eutheia Stephens, 1830 (Eutheiini) is presented. Lectotypes are designated for E. clavata Reitter, 1882 and E. minutissima Sainte-Claire Deville, 1901. Two new synonymies are proposed: E. scydmaenoides orientalis Franz, 1971, n. syn. for E. scydmaenoides Stephens, 1830, and E. scydmaenoides tyrolensis Franz, 1971, n. syn. for E. scydmaenoides Stephens, 1830. Eutheia formicetorum Reitter, 1882, is new for Algeria, Bulgaria, Morocco and Tunisia; E. plicata (Gyllenhal, 1813) is new for Slovenia; E. parallela Fairmaire, 1879, is new for Greece (Rhodes).

Dichotomous keys to 19 genera and 67 species of Archiearinae (2 genera, 3 species), Geometrinae (9 genera, 14 species) and Sterrhinae (8 genera, 50 species) of the Baikal region (Irkutskaya Oblast and Buryatia, Siberia) are given. The annotated catalogue including synonyms, the details of examined specimens, data on distribution and foodplants with references is provided. Distribution of Comibaena amoenaria (Oberthür, 1883) and Idaea falckii (Hedemann, 1879) in China is established. Lectotypes are designated for Hemistola zimmermanni and Hemistola intermedia Djakonov, 1926. Hemistola intermedia is synonymized with H. zimmermanni (syn. n.). Some taxonomic aspects of Hemistola zimmermanni (Hedemann, 1879), Idaea dohlmanni (Hedemann, 1881), Rhodostrophia jacularia (Hübner, [1813]) and Timandra griseata W. Petersen, 1902 are discussed. Results of DNA barcoding of ten species (Comibaena amoenaria (Oberthür, 1880), Hemistola zimmermanni, Thalera chlorosaria (Graeser, 1890), Chlorissa obliterata (Walker, 1863), Cleta jacutica Viidalepp, 1976, Idaea dohlmanni (Hedemann, 1881), Scopula agutsaensis Vasilenko, 1997, S. impersonata Walker, 1861, S. immutata (Linnaeus, 1758) and Scopula ornata (Scopoli, 1763)) are considered. Three cases of misidentifications and an erroneous association of species and its genitalia illustration in the public sources are recognized and corrected.

The present contribution is part of an ongoing work promoted by the Italian Botanical Society aimed to recognize and typify all the taxa described from Italy and their loci classici, in order to increase their systematic knowledge and promote further studies (Domina et al. 2012, Peruzzi et al. 2015, Brundu et al. 2017). One of these taxa is Polygala flavescens Candolle (1813: 134), an Italian endemic species that, according to Arrigoni (2014), includes three subspecies: P. flavescens DC. subsp. flavescens, P. flavescens DC. subsp. maremmana (Fiori in Fiori et al. 1908: 495) Arrigoni (2014: 251) and P. flavescens DC. subsp. pisaurensis (Caldesi 1879: 189) Arcangeli (1882: 68). To the best of our knowledge, the name Polygala flavescens was not yet typified.

Five species of the tribe Anerastiini from Ukraine are reviewed. Coenochroa ablutella (Zeller, 1839) is reported from Ukraine for the first time. Hypsotropa limbella Zeller, 1848 is removed from the list of Pyralidae of Ukraine as it was based on a misidentification. Five new synonyms are established: Hafisia Amsel, 1950 syn. nov. of Zophodiodes Ragonot, 1887; Hafisia lundbladi Amsel, 1950 syn. nov. of Zophodiodes leucocostella Ragonot, 1887; Anerastia korbi Caradja, 1910 syn. nov. of Coenochroa ablutella (Zeller, 1839), Anerastia dubia Gerasimov, 1928 syn. nov. of Anerastia lotella (Hübner, [1813]), Peoria palaearctella (Turati, 1917) syn. nov. of Peoria incarnata (Staudinger, 1879) comb. nov. The females of C. ablutella and Z. leucocostella are described for the first time. Adults and genitalia are re-described and illustrated for all species.

Information about parasitoids of neotropical vespids is scarce. Parasitoids collected from 43 colonies of Polistes myersi Bequaert, 1934 and one ofPolistes erythrocephalus Latreille, 1813 are reported from an Andean region of Colombia. Colony parasitism rates in P. myersi ranged from 35 % to 57 %, being higher in colonies with more cells; however, the number of parasitized colonies did not differ when considering the mean number of adult wasps (8.2 vs. 8.1 respectively). Parasitoidism ranged from one up to four species per colony. P. myersi parasitoids were: Seminotalaeviceps (Cresson, 1879) (Trigonalidae); Signiphora polistomyiella Richards, 1935 (Signiphoridae); Elasmuspolistis Burks, 1971 (Eulophidae, Elasminae); and a new species of Xenos(Strepsiptera, Xenidae). The latter three are first records for Colombia. P. myersi and P. erythrocephalus are the first host reports for the trigonalid S.laeviceps. We also report an unknown Tachinid fly species of the tribe Blondeliini attacking P. myersi.

O ecossistema citrícola abriga muitas espécies de inimigos naturais, entre eles Chrysoperla externa (Hagen, 1861) que apresenta um grande potencial como agente de controle biológico de pragas. Neste trabalho, objetivou-se avapar o efeito das presas Planococcus citri (Risso, 1813) e Toxoptera citricida (Kirkaldy, 1907) sobre o desenvolvimento das fases de larva e pupa de C. externa. O ensaio foi conduzido em sala cpmatizada a uma temperatura de 25±1ºC, 70±10% UR e fotofase de 12 horas, sendo os tratamentos constituídos pelo fornecimento contínuo e alternado dessas duas presas em cada ínstar do predador, além de ovos de Anagasta kuehniella (Zeller, 1879), utilizados para fins de comparação. Foram avaliados o tempo de vida e a viabilidade das fases de larva, pupa e do período larva-adulto de C. externa. Constatou-se que T. citricida fornecido isoladamente ao longo do desenvolvimento larval ou em dois ínstares consecutivos do predador, não foi uma presa adequada, constatando-se 100% de mortalidade no período larva-adulto. Quando as larvas alimentaram-se de P. citri fornecida em dois ínstares do predador, a viabilidade no período larva-adulto foi semelhante à dieta constituída por apenas ovos de A. kuehniella, exceto quando se alimentaram de T. citricida no primeiro ínstar.

Between 1853 and 1914, Paris (France), ‘the city of art’, underwent enormous changes due to the urban development plans of Baron Georges Haussmann. Although gentrification was coined in the 1960s by Ruth Glass, this Haussmannization’ of Paris shows multiple convincing similarities with contemporary forms of gentrification. Artists have been ascribed a rather ambivalent role in the gentrification process, as their presence in old, decayed, abandoned, or low-income neighborhoods was and is often seen as the first step towards gentrification. However, artists have also used their art to reflect on or even question gentrification. Especially photographers, whose discipline allows them to consciously curate and depict real life situations, have played an important role in capturing gentrification and its ramifications. Photographer Charles Marville (1813-1879) was commissioned by the state to document the neighborhoods that were demolished during the ‘Haussmannization’. Some forty years later, Eugène Atget (1857-1927) began photographing Parisian quarters that would be lost in urban planning. In this visual essay, the agency of photographers in (de)constructing gentrification is researched through an analysis of the work of Marville and Atget, discussing their objectives and styles and how these reflect the radical changes in Paris. The motivation of photographers seems to determine in what way their works represent gentrifying processes.

This thesis considers past autobiographical theory and questions whether it addresses the autobiography of the female writer. Autobiographies of Harriet Jacobs, Margaret Sanger, and Maxine Hong Kingston are examined to reveal their polyvocality, use of the autobiographical "I", and rhetorical strategies maintained in order to create a close relationship with the reader. Particular attention is paid to Mikhail Bakhtin's theory of dialogism and Sidonie Smith's autobiographical "I."

Não há registros de nomes comuns para adultos de tricópteros no Brasil. Dicionários indicam “frigana” como substantivo que nomeia os tricópteros, mas este uso é restrito a Portugal. As casas construídas pelas larvas eram chamadas de grumixás ou curubixás pelos índios, sendo utilizadas para confecção de adornos (Ihering 2002). Na língua Tupi, “curubixá” ou “grumixá” significa “lugar onde vive o menino”, indicando o conhecimento dos índios sobre o fato de a larva ser a forma imatura de um inseto e que ela constroi e vive dentro das casinhas em ambientes aquáticos. Esse nome foi utilizado para descrição do gênero Grumicha por Müller (1879).
