Resumen
We report an unprecedented existence of the zeroth law of helicity spectrum (i.e., the helicity spectrum becomes independent of the wavenumber) in the transition from production range to inertial range, herein termed the pre-inertial range, of wall turbulence. The zeroth law is explained by the superposition effect of the forward joint cascade of energy and helicity caused by twisting and stretching of wall-attached superstructures in an equilibrium layer. The phenomenological model perfectly predicts the zeroth law in the pre-inertial range. Experimental data support the existence of the zeroth law.

Resumen
The present study is aimed at investigating the effect of acid etching durations on the surface roughness and birefringence of lightweight mirrors made of ZERODUR® glass ceramic. Four acid etching durations (15, 20, 25 and 30 min) have been chosen at a fixed concentration. By using the photoelasticity, surface profiler and laser microscope, the results before and after acid etching have been obtained. It is found the maximum value of the retardation for the polished lightweight ZERODUR® mirror is up to 30 nm. In addition, residual stresses induced by the grinding process with an average grain size of 149 μm are relived after removing ZERODUR® material of a thickness of 60 μm.

Resumen
The bonding of ceramic to metal has been challenging due to the dissimilar nature of the materials, particularly different surface properties and the coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE). To address the issues, gas phase-processed thin metal films were inserted at the metal/ceramic interface to modify the ceramic surface and, therefore, promote heterogeneous bonding. In addition, an alloy bonder that is mechanically and chemically activated at as low as 220 °C with reactive metal elements was utilized to bond the metal and ceramic. Stainless steel (SS)/Zerodur is selected as the metal/ceramic bonding system where Zerodur is chosen due to the known low CTE. The low-temperature process and the low CTE of Zerodur are critical to minimizing the undesirable stress evolution at the bonded interface. Sputtered Ti, Sn, and Cu (300 nm) were deposited on the Zerodur surface, and then dually activated molten alloy bonders were spread on both surfaces of the coated Zerodur and SS at 220 °C in air. The shear stress of the bonding was tested with a custom-designed fixture in a universal testing machine and was recorded through a strain indicator. The mechanical strength and the bonded surface property were compared as a function of interfacial metal thin film and analyzed through thermodynamic interfacial stability/instability calculations. A maximum shear strength of bonding of 4.36 MPa was obtained with Cu interfacial layers, while that of Sn was 3.53 MPa and that of Ti was 3.42 MPa. These bonding strengths are significantly higher than those (∼0.04 MPa) of contacts without interfacial reactive thin metals.

Resumen
The zeroth coefficient polynomial is a one variable polynomial contained in the HOMFLYPT polynomial. In this paper, we give a basic computation of the zeroth coefficient polynomial of a 2-cable knot. In particular, we compute the zeroth coefficient polynomials of the 2-cable knots of the Kanenobu knots. It is known that the Kanenobu knots have the same HOMFLYPT polynomial and the same Khovanov–Rozansky homology. As a result, we distinguish the Kanenobu knots completely. Moreover, we estimate the braid indices of the Kanenobu knots.

Resumen
In the new optical pressure standard Ultra-Low Expansion glass cavities were proposed to measure helium refractivity for a new realisation of the unit of pressure, pascal. However, it was noticed that the use of this type of material causes some difficulties. One of the main problems of ULE glass is the pumping effect for Helium. Therefore, instead of ULE, Zerodur glass was proposed as a material for the cavity. This proposal was given by the Vacuum Metrology team of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt - PTB in the QuantumPascal project. In order to calculate the flow of helium gas through Zerodur glass one has to know the permeation constant <em>K</em>. Moreover, the modelling of time dependency of the flow requires the knowledge of diffusion constant <em>D</em> as well. The relation between them is given by <em>K</em> = <em>S</em> · <em>D</em>, where <em>S</em> is the solubility of Helium in glass. In our research work we measured permeation of helium gas in Zerodur. Measurements were performed in the temperature range 80 °C – 120 °C. Based on our results, we consider that the Zerodur material has potential to be used as cavity material for the new quantum standard of pressure.

Resumen
We address the approximation of the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the spectral problem derived from the linearized elastic system for a rod. The geometric properties of domain (area of cross-section is very small with respect to its length) allow us to use an asymptotic method as principal tool using the diameter of cross-section as a small parameter ∊. We characterize zeroth- and second-order terms. Convergence results to the zeroth-order term have already been studied elsewhere. Here we analyze several questions related to the second-order term as an improvement on the zeroth-order approximation that includes Timoshenko and torsion effects.

Texto completo
Resumen
A two-dimensional transient inverse heat-conduction problem (2DIHCP) was established to determine the mold heat flux using observed temperatures. The sequential regularization method (SRM) was used with zeroth-, first-, and second-order spatial regularization to solve the 2DIHCP. The accuracy of the 2DIHCP was investigated under two strict test conditions (Case 1: heat flux with time-spatial periodically varying, and Case 2: that with sharp variations). The effects of the number of future time steps, regularization parameters, order of regularization, discrete grids, and time step size on the accuracy of the 2DIHCP were analyzed. The results showed that the minimum relative error (epred) of the predicted Case 1 heat flux is 5.05%, 5.39%, and 5.88% for zeroth-, first-, and second-order spatial regularization, respectively. The corresponding values for the predicted Case 2 heat flux are 6.31%, 6.30%, and 6.36%. Notably, zeroth- and first-order spatial regularization had higher accuracy than second-order spatial regularization, while zeroth-order spatial regularization was comparable to first-order. Additionally, first-order spatial regularization was more accurate in reconstructing heat flux containing sharp spatial variations. The CPU time of the predicted Case 2 heat flux is 1.71, 1.71, and 1.70 s for zeroth-, first-, and second-order spatial regularization, respectively. The corresponding values for the predicted Case 1 heat flux are 6.18, 6.15, and 6.17 s. It is noteworthy that the choice of spatial regularization order does not significantly impact the required computing time. Lastly, the minimum epred of Case 2 heat flux with zeroth-order spatial regularization is 7.96%, 6.42%, and 7.87% for time step sizes of 1/fs, 1/2fs, and 1/5fs, respectively. The accuracy of the inverse analysis displays an initial improvement followed by degradation as the time step size decreases. A recommended time step size is 1/2fs, where fs denotes the temperature-sampling rate.

Resumen
Length measurement was conducted for two years on glass ceramics, Zerodur®and Clearceram®, which have a low coefficient of thermal expansion, and on synthetic quartz. Commercially available glass ceramics were used for evaluating long-term stability, or secular change. Synthetic quartz ensured longterm length measurement stability. Two line scales of 300 mm length made of each material for a total of six line scales were simultaneously manufactured and measured to evaluate dimensional stability variation of the materials over time. Measurements were conducted with a line scale calibration systemdeveloped by Nikon. The calibration system is a onedimensional laser interferometer, featuring reduced Abbe’s errors, laser interferometer paths in a vacuum and real-time wavelength calibration of laser frequency using a 633 nm iodine-stabilized He-Ne laser. Long-term quartz stability was 4.3 nm and 5.4 nm (2σ). The yearly stability coefficients of the two glassceramic scales were -0.22 and -0.23 parts per million per year (ppm/yr) for Zerodur and -0.16 and -0.16 ppm/yr for Clearceram. No significant difference in stability between the two scales was observed for Zerodur or Clearceram.

A new structure of microstructure reflection three-port beam splitter grating is described in this paper. The grating includes two dielectric layers and a metal slab on the substrate, where incident waves are reflected into the zeroth-order and the ± first-order with polarization-independent property. With the optimized grating profile, reflection efficiencies’ ratios between the first-order and the zeroth-order can reach 0.998 and 1.001 for TE and TM polarizations, respectively. Especially, the reflection grating can diffract efficiencies more than 30% into the ± first-order and the zeroth-order with the incident angular bandwidth of −1.9–1.9[Formula: see text] for TM polarization, which can have merits compared with single-layer transmission grating.

The general zeroth-order Randic index is defined as 0R?(G) = ?ni =1 d?i, where ? is an arbitrary real number. The corresponding general zeroth-order Randic coindex is defined via 0R??(G) = ?ni=1(n?1?di)d?i. Some new bounds for the general zeroth-order Randic coindex and relationship between 0R??(G?) and 0R???1(G?) are obtained. Resumen
A basic classifier system, ZCS, is presented that keeps much of Holland's original framework but simplifies it to increase understandability and performance. ZCS's relation to Q-learning is brought out, and their performances compared in environments of two difficulty levels. Extensions to ZCS are proposed for temporary memory, better action selection, more efficient use of the genetic algorithm, and more general classifier representation.

Resumen
In this paper, we introduce and review the zeroth-order resonator (ZOR) antennas with outstanding characteristics including various applications that have been researched so far. Since the zeroth-order resonance frequency is independent of a physical length of antenna, the ZOR antenna can theoretically be designed quite small and have a possibility to apply to considerably lots of applications. First, we have presented the ZOR antennas implemented by double-negative (DNG), epsilon-negative (ENG), and mu-negative (MNG) transmission lines. Then, the research related on extremely small, wide beamwidth, wideband, and circularly polarized (CP) ZOR antennas have been continuously carried out. Based on a series of these studies, the ZOR antennas were utilized for various applications such as a wireless power transfer (WPT), a compact controlled reception pattern antenna (CRPA), a penta-band mobile antenna, and a wide steering array antenna.

Resumen
Randi\'{c} indices belong to the most well-known topological indices. We study a very general index called the zeroth-order general Randi\'{c} index. We present upper and lower bounds on the zeroth-order general Randi\'{c} index for trees with given order and independence number, and for trees with given order and domination number. We also show that the bounds are best possible.

Resumen
A new analysis procedure is presented which solves for the flow variables of an incompressible-flow annular pressure seal in which the rotor has a large static displacement from the centered position. The analysis begins with a set of governing equations based on a turbulent bulk-flow model and Moody’s friction equation. No simplification of these bulk-flow equations are required for the solution procedure. Perturbation of the flow variables yields a set of zeroth and first-order equations. The zeroth-order equations (which model the large static displacement) are integrated by means of an efficient new method which employs Fast Fourier Transforms. Further integration of the zeroth-order pressures yields the hydrodynamic reactive force. Predictions for the hydrodynamic forces from this analysis procedure are in excellent agreement with available experimental results.

Resumen
We study string propagation in an anisotropic, cosmological background. We solve the equations of motion and the constraints by performing a perturbative expansion of the string coordinates in powers if c2 — the worldsheet speed of light. To zeroth order the string is approximated by a tensionless string (since c is proportional to the string tension T). We obtain exact, analytical expressions for the zeroth- and first-order solutions and we discuss some cosmological implications.
