Resumen
In Zeche Zollverein near Essen in the Ruhr Area, the old plants are rebuilt as culture & recreation places such as museum, restaurant and theater and so on, they get the rebirth. The industrial feel was conserved, and the buildings continue the history with immitting of new blood at the mean time. Symbiosis of old and new building proposed new ideas.

Resumen
An vielen Orten prägen Projekte aus dem Bereich Kunst im öffentlichen Raum („Public Art“) die postindustrielle Landschaft im Ruhrgebiet. Sie sind in mehrfacher Hinsicht mit dem ökonomischen Strukturwandel verknüpft. So verweisen sie vielfach auf die durch Bergbau und Schwerindustrie geprägte Vergangenheit und sollen zugleich einen Beitrag leisten zur kulturellen Umwidmung und ästhetischen Aufwertung von Industriedenkmälern wie der Zeche Zollverein in Essen oder von Flächen wie dem Emscher Landschaftspark. Das Ruhrgebiet und viele seiner Städte verfügen über eine Vielzahl derartiger Projekte, die in den meisten Fällen weitaus weniger Aufmerksamkeit als derlei herausgehobene Beispiele erhalten. In der Stadt Dortmund ist seit Mitte 2022 Jacques Heinrich Toussaint als Leiter des Ressorts für Kunst im öffentlichen Raum verantwortlich für diesen heterogenen Bestand, seine Bestimmung, Pflege und Ergänzung. Gemeinsam mit dem Volontär André Kölsch nahm er mich mit zu einem Ortstermin an verschiedene Punkte der Stadt – zu vielfach übersehenen metallenen und steinernen Zeitzeugen am Straßenrand, vom Kaiserviertel im Osten der Innenstadt bis zum Hauptbahnhof. In seinem Büro und unterwegs sprachen wir über vergessene Spuren am Straßenrand, problematische Relikte und neue Impulse für Public Art

In recent decades, the problems of cultural tourism and the raise of experience economy making the ideas of creativity, such as creative industries and creative city, become popular strategies to many cities and cultural attractions in the world. Therefore, this paper aims at discussing how to combine the creative turn: creative spaces, creative spectacles and creative tourism introduced by Greg Richards with the adaptive-reuse of industrial heritages, to assist the post-industrial sites in shaping uniqueness and maintaining competitive advantages in the global market. Taking Ironbridge Gorge from the UK and the Zeche Zollverein from Germany as two cases, the research is based on the evidences related to experience economy, to discuss how to organize the unused spaces, cultural resources and local community of the post-industrial cities in different social and politics contexts. After the cross-case study, the author will build up a creative framework of industrial heritage to reexamine the important role of industrial heritages to the post-industrial cities and to conclude the crucial points to the sustainable development of industrial heritage.
