“Lu-Tsao-Ju-Yin” is a Chinese idiom describing a pleasant scene with uniformly soft and green pastures. We address the issue of identifying whether a given image can be described as “Lu-Tsao-Ju-Yin” in this paper. We have developed an algorithm to perform the task including transforming the image into an efficient feature space. The complete procedures will be described in the paper. At first we transfer the R.G.B model of a color image to the H.I.S model and take out the H matrix. Then we set the H range of the grassland. This way makes the program to find the sample which is fit in with the character of the grassland. Second we use the sub sampling method to reduce the H matrix. With this reduced matrix, we use the complete judgment to decide the bound of the grassland. Third we estimate the area of the grassland and see if the grassland area rate is answer to the percentage we choose. Finally we can judge an image if it is “Lu-Tsao-Ju-Yin”. The grassland bound is very accurate. So the experiment results on images are good and the the identification speed is not too slow. This algorithm can learn the feeling of the human eyes on seeing wide and uniform grassland. The technique can be found useful in applications such as sight-seeing and education. For example, we can choose the place which is with grassland without using our eyes. The search engine to images can also be improved.

Fang Hui “Ying Kui Lu Sui” is one of widely discussed literary productions among Tang and Song poems of eight lines collections, which could be viewed in “Ying Kui Lu Sui Literary Criticism” edited by Li, Qing-Jia; among the most important criticisms are Ping Ban, Ping Hao, Zha Shen-Xing, Ji Yun, and Xu Ying Fang. Xu Ying Fang is one of the most important poets and poetry critics in Yun Na. “Lu Sui Ji Yao” is edited in the purpose of teaching students during Xu’s late years of being the chairman in Jing Zheng college. This literary production has twelve chapters; the first six chapters are about the poems, which are worthy to be followed, and the later six ones are vice versa. However, Xu passes away before finishing this work. The reason why Xu Ying Fang edits this production bases on the criticism of “Ying Kui Lu Sui” (written by Fang Hui), and “Ying Kui Lu Sui Kan Wu” (written by Ji Yun), yet the literary figure of “Lu Sui Ji Yao” is different from that of Fang Hui. Comparing to the late Qing dynasty, which is prevalent to the movement of Song poetry with Tong-Guang style, Xu Ying Fang’s reflections toward Tang and Song poetry reversely present the most important feature of poetics in Qing Dynasty- neutrality. Xu partially accepts Fang Hui’s proposition of “one ancestor and three predecessors”; and he further advances the idea of lists Li Shang-Yin, and Wang An Shi into the followers of Du Fu. Moreover, he even raises poetics status of Chen Yu Yi above Chen Shih Dao. Therefore, in “Lu Sui Ji Yao”, Du Fu is the most listed poet among Tang Dynasty poets, and Chen Yu Yi is the poet among Song Dynasty poets; the above arrangement is the most vivid poetic feature, which Xu Ying Fong breaks through Fang Hui’s previous propositions. The advantages and weaknesses about poetry appeared among Xu Ying Fong’s literary production are not judaged by times nor poets themselves. His literary criticism is deeply affected by neutral concept and textual research in Qing Dynasty poetics. As a result, “Lu Sui Ji Yao”has been accounted as an important status among the relative works of “Ying Kui Lu Sui”.

The aim of this study was to explore the antitumor effect of Gan-Lu-Yin (GLY), a traditional Chinese herbal formula on leukemia. Ethanolic extract of GLY was applied to evaluate its regulatory mechanisms on proliferation, migration and differentiation of WEHI-3 leukemic cells as well as antitumor effect on BALB/c mice model. The results showed that GLY markedly reduced cell proliferation and migration whereas induced differentiation of WEHI-3 cells. The expression level of phosphorylated FAK, Akt, ERK1/2 and Rb was decreased while p21 expression level was increased in WEHI-3 treated with GLY. The results of cell cycle analysis revealed that GLY treatment could markedly induce G1 phase arrest and decrease cell population in S phase. Moreover, experimental results demonstrated that GLY decreased the protein expression level and enzyme activity of MMP-2 and MMP-9. GLY treatment also reduced WEHI-3 leukemic infiltration to liver, spleen and tumor growth in animal model. Accordingly, GLY demonstrated an inhibitory effect on tumor growth with a regulatory mechanism partially through inhibiting FAK, Akt and ERK expression in WEHI-3 cells. GLY may provide a promising antileukemic approach in the clinical application. Moreover, we also aimed to explore whether the ethanolic extract of Antrodia cinnamomea (EEAC), a medicinal mushroom from Taiwan, could affect the proliferation and migration of WEHI-3 cells in vitro. And also explore the antitumor effects of EEAC in BALB/c mice engrafted with WEHI-3 cells. Our results showed that EEAC inhibited the proliferation of WEHI-3 cells, resulting in the accumulation of cell in G0/G1 and G2/M phases, as determined by flow cytometry. Moreover, EEAC markedly reduced the migration of WEHI-3 cells, as determined by a transwell assay. Treatment of WEHI-3 cells with EEAC also decreased MMP-9 protein expression level and enzyme activity as well as the protein levels of p-Akt, p-ERK1/2 , whereas the expression level of p21 and p27 was increased. Furthermore, in our in vivo model, EEAC treatment reduced the infiltration of WEHI-3 cells into the liver and spleens and decreased tumor growth. Other bioactive compounds, such as cordycepin and zhankuic acid A, have been demonstrated to reduce the expression level of MMP-9, cyclin E, cyclin D1 and to increase the expression of p21 and p27. To sum up, this study was to investigate the mechanisms by which EEAC can reduce the proliferation and migration of WEHI-3 cells in vitro, as well as the ability of EEAC to reduced infiltration of WEHI-3 cells into the liver and spleen in vivo. The results suggest that EEAC can be developed as a potential candidate for antileukemic therapies.

Keywords: death from overwork, insomnia, Taoism, and health, long life This project is to illustrate the negative impact of overwork society, such as to health suffer and mental damage. Though those social phenomenon which I am absorbed into themes. I transform Taoism regimen into pieces and add the impact of keep in good health into it. This exhibition is to show how sympathy I feel and care the society and help can involve the viewers. The materials of paintings are rice paper with watercolors and background of color mainly yellow which offer warm feeling to the viewers. To build up peaceful and calmness atmosphere, I painted with fine detail and delicate tactual. There are 5 series to compose personal traits and I hope to communicate with outside viewers. Due to one of my relative works as a doctor, so I often saw health problems which relate to overwork or tiredness. In my observation, patients whose life style suffered from long working hours and stress, they most likely have insomnia. I expand my caring and sympathy upon this project as the start point.

Owing to catching on the effect of musical education, the motive in this research is how to let music bring the experience of the aesthetics in swinging in order to sublimate human’s mind and spirit. Under the predominant of human emotions, the consonance between interpretations and aesthetics experiences in music has been got forward to promote the spiritual pureness and touches as the main hypothesis in this research. The method in musical interpretation can be divided into the musical instruments performance and the musical pieces interpretation. The musical instruments performance is on the basis of the aesthetic experience and touch in music; the musical piece interpretation is on the analysis of the connotation and nature in music. The musical pieces’ analyses and interpretations coming with performances in the well-integrated way is to purify our spirits and to promote ourselves as a balance between the mind and spirit in the musical aesthetics experience. Two parts in this research are as follows: one is “solo recital” program notes; another is “performance recital” program notes. The program in the solo recital is :Piano Fantasy KV. 396 in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791); Preludes in Claude Debussy (1862-1918) La danse de Puck (from Vol. I), Bruyeres (from Vol. II), and Ondine (from Vol. II); Rondo Op.59 in Dmitry Kabalevsky (1904-1987). 1920-1930 years is an era when regionalism was a dominant theme in Chinese literature. After the May Fourth Movement, the traditional agricultural society was slowly transformed into a modern, industrialized one. Many regional writers with rural background chose a path to an urban, modern civilization and actively embraced modern wave of new ideas and culture. When they looked back to their hometown, what they saw was the bleak and underdeveloped part of the society with people living in extremely barrenness and depression materially and spiritually. This kind of contrast led these writers to a strong sense of traditional criticism. Wang Lu-Yan(王魯彥), a nativist writer from Zhenghai(鎮海), Zhejian(浙江) illustrated the bitter lifestyle of seaside rural villages with descriptive touch. His works were successful narration on the destruction of the rural self-sufficient economy by the invasion of industrial civilization and capitalism. They were also the reflection of people’s state of mind when the industrial civilization crushed rural economy. Furthermore, through the overall illustration of his description of the rural life and his nostalgia to the childhood memory, readers have a clear picture of the lives of those who belong to the lower class of the society and the folk custom of spiritual dependence on the land. Images of the folk life in the Chinese modern society were presented. Chapters of this essay follow Wang Lu-Yan’s nativist writing stages—“Pomelo,” “Gold,” “The Angry Rural Village,” and ‘patriotic writing during the resistance war against Japan.’ The analysis of his novels of different genres. Crave for with this research chance through his writing, words that were charged with regional characteristics, this is a rediscovering of the general illustration of his contemporary rural society in the eastern Zhejian region in China.

19th century is such a “special period” for all East Asia nations. Many Southeast Asian countries surrounding Vietnam already became colonies of different Western countries, which made great change both in their economic and social life. For China, the suzerain of East Asian culture sphere, which having a very close relationship with Vietnam, is also having a tough time in managing its situation. China, an undoubtedly great, powerful nation before 1800, started to go downhill rapidly from the end of Qianlong. And this time is not easy for Vietnam, too, for it has to face many issues, from its own inner crisis, as well as the fatal threat from Western power, that all put Vietnam in a very deadly situation. As we can see, Vietnam and China seem to share the same problems, including the corruption of the nation and the threat from Western countries. Those issues not only threaten the sovereignty and the presence of two nations, but also hit badly on their people’s traditional, deep-seated belief and culture. Under such similar situation, the envoys of Vietnam dispatched to China have a great chance to observe different experience and things, that are written down carefully in there journals during the trips. Those documents truly do a great job in helping them or other scholars to open up their mind and their knowledge, as well as providing very valuable reference materials for managing the complicated situations in Vietnam. Hence, in this thesis, based on the documents of Vietnamese envoys going to Peking, China from 1844-1877, we study on how Vietnamese envoys, as well as popular Vietnamese scholars view on China and its destiny, how they see the threat from Western powers to Asian nations and what they consider or do after their trips to change themselves and Vietnam, which will make important contribution to research on the cultural exchange between China and Vietnam, Vietnamese history and envoys’ documents as well.

The thesis is the research of the history and achievement of visual art education which contributed by Lu, Yen-Ching. In addition, comes out the enlightenment for current visual art education in Taiwan. The research contains deeply discussion and analysis with the information collected by cross validation from tracing selected cases based on paper analysis, narrative research, interview study, and document collection method. The conclusions are summarized as bellow. 1. The artistic thinking theorem by Lu, Yen-Ching is related to the development of her education of aesthetic cultivation which comes from traditional art education transferring to Creative Self-expression Approach to Art Education, then advance to Discipline-Based Art Education. 2. The teaching program of Lu, Yen-Ching is impressive to her students. Besides, she shows great concern with her students as not only a teacher but also a mentor. It is confirmed by our country and school that Lu, Yen-Ching spread her thoughts of visual art education by large amounts of papers which wins awards about education and NSC fellowship for many times. 3. Operation procedure is the characteristic of Lu, Yen-Ching’s engraving education. Many engraving artists and teachers are educated by Lu, Yen-Ching who honored by Graphic Art education award. 4. Lu, Yen-Ching plays an important role in the revolution of Arts and Humanities education, including syllabus in the beginning, elaboration of case study regulations, implement and promotion.

The creation of the series crafts is from my reflection about my great grandmother’s death. Based on the theory about screenwriting by Robert McKee and Roland Barthes’s argument about ”signifier” and ”signified” , my artworks give three signals with different meanings as following: First of all, “The decorative pattern of sea debris” represents the image about the end of death；In addition, ”The houses stacked by blocks” physically deliver the affection around my family and I；Last but not least, ”The shape of the chair”, which reveals the condition that I have tried to figure out my situation in different relationships. Through the three contexts surrounding the series crafts, I take the ”Reproducing Self Memory” as my core of creation to rethink the exist in everyone’s life. As the name of my solo exhibition, ”Foreign Domain Newborn” is to establish the image that I would like to figure out some other way to exist except living as a human beings on earth. That is, I have develop two different creation, ”Farewell to youthful” and “Growing to the heart of the root”. The former reflects the most important memory of the period in school, the latter represents the process to figure out my way. With above creations, I try to response to the theme, “Reproducing Self Memory” through the way of living the past and creating the future.

Thesis for M.A.：「Mo-You-Zhi zhi Mu Lu Ban Ben Xue Yan Jiu」 Suzhoon University Department of Chinese Literature Graduated at 2nd semester 2002 Instructor：Wang-Kuo-Liang Student：Shiue-Yea-Wen Index： My thesis「Mo-You-Zhi zhi Mu Lu Ban Ben Xue Yan Jiu」is based on three books「Chi Jing Zhai Cang Shu Ji Yao」、「Song Yuan Jiu Ben Shu Jing Yan Lu」、「Lu Ting Zhi Jian Chuan Ben Shu Mu」written by Ching Dynasty Mo-You-Zhi to do research. My research is major in the content of index and discussion about the edition. My thesis is not only description about the lifespan of Mo-You-Zhi and his works‚but also presenting the full pictures of Mo-You-Zhi books and characters. Within my research‚it´s easy to find out the fine art of Mo-You-Zhi in the field of index literature. To introduce every Mo-You-Zhi´s books‚we have to read every details and do the statistics for the particular characters of that book. If any proof‚I have to do the investigation enabling to understand what´s the ideas. Thus‚my thesis has included『Phenomena of index』upon every book I research to present what author´s implied. I also search for other books related to index literature or other simllar books to further make comparison‚directly or indirectly. This is to analysis the straits of Mo-You-Zhi. In my thesis‚I will include『Comparison with other index books』to understand Mo-You-Zhi by looking at different angles. My thesis includes the analysis of index type‚the content of index‚the way of editing and comparison with other authors. The title of the thesis is〝 Research on poetics of Ying Kui Lu Sui by Fang Hui〞.The main purpose is to clarify the myth of evaluation about 〝Ying Kui Lu Sui〞for all ancient and modern scholars had. The description as follows: the essayists of Qing- dynasty have a polarization of the book. The polarization is resulted from the different recognition of poems essayists take, and also affects the evaluation of the poems. And modern scholars have the myth of judging what is the best school on researching the book chronically. The scholars defend the thoughts tenaciously, and show preference for understanding the previous poems without minding the precondition and criterion may be existed in the discussion. The thesis intends to develop the issue through the comments of Qing-dynasty scholars and the modern investigation. Besides, the thesis doesn’t stereotype what is the best school, it will construct the context within the poetics of 〝Ying Kui Lu Sui〞 by Fang Hui objectively and honestly. The thesis do the research in the structure of Foundationism and Functionalism、Creativitism、Criticism of poems. There are strong connections between the three theories but in vertical thinking. For the literature, what we recognize the foundation of the poem affects the creation and comment of it. If a good poet considers what is a good poem, then he will definitely practice and look forward to create a poem as good as that in his mind. Only after establishing the foundation of the poem, we can realize how chooser standardizes every issue of the creation according to the foundation. However, as a reader, we often evaluate the advantage and inferiority of every poem in a basis of the best poem in our mind. As a result, the recognition of the poem is the key point understanding the poetic view scholars own and let us believe the strong connection of the structure. Scholars advance creative discuss about〝 the foundation of the poem〞 standing on 〝the times they exist〞. What we are going to find out is what kind of creative discuss about the foundation in the book 〝Ying Kui Lu Sui〞by Fang Hui? We deduce that Fang Hui recognize the foundation of the poem is blended with〝form and spirit〞by analyzing source books. But how do we realize the definition of this foundation? And as we know, the foundation is with corresponding function. We are also trying to find out what kind of function of a poem should has in his mind? In creativitism, we should emphasis on the efforts and training during the creation process. We are going to find out what abilities a poet ought to have to create a good poem ordinarily. Furthermore, only through learning can achieve creation. So, the attitude and approach from the old research are the key point creating a good poem. Above-mentioned we are going to discuss in this article. Besides, we will reveal what is 〝the flexible rule〞by Fang Hui, and find out the skills he advocates when creating poems, and whether the skills are corresponding to that rule. The essayists often judge other people’s creations in a basis of their recognition of the foundation of the poem and their creating experience. So, in criticism, we will survey how Fang Hui do the criticize and what rules he adopts. We find out a rule called〝classification, thought, and phraseology〞, and analyze the meaning of them. And then construct the interpretation and evaluation these two purposes to survey the criticism by Fang Hui. Finally, we will integrate each viewpoint and bring up the ultimate explain, and reconstruct the poetic of 〝Ying Kui Lu Sui〞 by Fang Hui.

In order to explore the creation of Taiwanese composer for the flute profiles, I started to collect data, summarize the whole export of the flute repertoire from 60 years to now. In addition, the author has been learned music and flute playing for fifteen years, the repertoire has learned across the Baroque period to the Modern School of Music Western works. However, the Taiwanese works are not so familiar to me. As the Taiwanese, I should understand my local works more in-depth. In view of this, stimulate the interest of the author for the Taiwanese composer and music creation, and then explore and understand the works of this field in Taiwan. In this dissertation, the author has selected an important composer - Lu Yen as a model to explore; and its creation of the 1980s - flute and piano duo, as the central analysis to explore his musical language and describe my personal interpretation of performance.First chapter starting from Taiwanese music development environment, and then summed up the flute works on behalf of the Taiwanese composer; the second chapter is written in three directions- the entire life of Lu Yen, his creative background and characteristics and his creative stage. Chapter three in-depth studied and classified the music background, structural analysis, the actual performance interpretation and technique of Lu Yen “Duo for Flute and Piano”.

Orchestral work Memory of JiangNan III was completed by Lu, Yen (1930-2008) in 1982. It is not only a microcosm of his early musical style but also one of the most representatives. This paper will use the theories of pitch-class set and set-complex to analyze the pitch organizations, relationships and its development in Memory of JiangNan III; furthermore, to elaborate how Lu, Yen used pitch-class theory to be one of his own composing techniques. In addition, the author also analyzes the orchestration of Memory of JiangNan III, and the melodies used in the work to discuss how Lu, Yen combined Western techniques with the Oriental elements as well.

The Spatial Construction of Ga-tao Temple’s “An-ying Zhen-fu” in Lu-kang ABSTRACT “An-Ying Zhen-fu” means when near the arrival of “Wang Ye's” birthday, each “Ga-tao Temple” will be led by the sacred palanquin and parade formation which called Ding-tao. They will hold a fair and walk around the “Ging” where is a district belonged to each “Ga-tao”, and also place the bamboo breaks as the symbol of the General of the five-barrack. Human in settlement will as well hold a regular ceremony as the retractable solider in order to achieve the protection of people in each “Ging.” This research will put focus on the ceremony of “An-Ying Zhen-fu” in Lu-kang district. The Spatial pattern will mainly focus on the traditional Chinese Han peoples’ concept of “center-and-four-aspect” as the core idea. All these factors may influence its effect of defending for the residents in the settlement and also demonstrate the effect this kind of space arrangement. By exploring the distribution of each barracks and relationship between each field can make people understand more about the interaction between territory and the crowd. This study provides another point of view about the settlement on the whole and the individual one. Through the understanding of the formation of “An-Ying Zhen-fu” can we know that it is more complicated than the founding of rural areas like southwest coast in Taiwan. It as well helps to make up the lack of the research of sacred space and settlement.
