Resumen
PurposeThis study aims to investigate the crossover specificity of team‐level stressors to individual‐level work‐family conflict.Design/methodology/approachThe paper takes the form of a multilevel analyses with data from 428 employees of a Dutch municipality working in 49 teams.FindingsThe results indicate the expected crossover specificity of different types of work‐family conflicts. After controlling for individual‐level demands there is little evidence that team‐level work demands influence work‐family conflict (WFC) or family‐work conflict (FWC), but team‐level WFC and FWC do influence individual‐level WFC and FWC, respectively.Research limitations/implicationsThe paper distinguishes two types of WFC, but it did not distinguish between strain‐ and time‐based conflicts. Further, it did not pay attention to individual differences (e.g., susceptibility to distress of team members), although such differences may be important moderators of the crossover process.Originality/valueThis study is one of the first that empirically linked team‐level stressors and WFC to individual‐level WFC and that tested crossover specificity. Findings indicated the associations of team‐level WFC and FWC and focal employees' WFC and FWC respectively, thereby underscoring the importance of crossover specificity.

Resumen
The purpose of the paper is to develop indicators and standards for assessing the remuneration policy in terms of decent work at the regional level and to approbate the developed tools for assessing the data of remuneration policy research in Kyiv region. The analysis of the labor remuneration policy at the regional level has been based on the developed indicators using case study, statistical method, comparative analysis, analogy method and content analysis. The findings have shown negative trends, in particular the inefficiency of social standards, the low level of wages, the arrears of wages, the unsatisfactory wages structure and the low level of collective-contractual regulation of remuneration. The low level of remuneration, which does not provide an expanded reproduction of the labor force, is a significant drawback in wages in Kyiv region in comparison with wages in Kyiv city, which demotivates employees and leads to migration abroad. The necessity for remuneration policy improvement based on the decent work concept has been proved. Indicators and standards can be used by regional state administrations, state authorities, trade unions, employers’ organizations for analyzing the labor remuneration policy and identifying the directions for its improvement in order to implement the decent work concept and increase the welfare of employees. Public authorities can use the developed indicators for comparing and ranking the regions and finding out the leaders in the implementation of decent work concept.

Resumen
The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Lipetsk Branch, Lipetsk The article assesses the applicability of the interrelational approach to myth in the perspective of interpretation of narratives nourished by family memory. Everyday mythology of family memory is understood as a special space of actualization of social mythology, which includes the refraction of autobiographical memory, family experience in the spheres of everyday life. It is noted that in the case of family stories, «work on myth» covers all types of myth existence - from individual to societal. To characterize the totality of mythologized representations that are constantly reproduced in family stories and practices, it is proposed to use the term «family mythscape», the configuration of which is specific for each family, but contains stable components.

Resumen
Purpose Quality care transitions of older people across acute, sub-acute and primary care are critical to safety and cost, which is the reason interventions to improve practice are a priority. Yet, given the complexity of providers and services involved it is often difficult to know the types of tensions that arise in day-to-day transition work or how front-line workers will respond. To that end, this innovative study differs from the largely descriptive studies by conceptualising care transitions as street-level work in order to capture how transition practice takes shape within the complexities and dynamics of the local setting. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from 23 hospital health professionals and community service providers across primary, sub-acute and acute care through focus groups. A thematic analysis and interrogation of themes using street-level concepts derived three key themes. Findings The themes of risk logics and dilemmas of fragmentation make explicit both the local constraints and opportunities of care transitions and how these intersect to engender a particular logic of practice. By revealing the various discretionary tactics adopted by front-line providers, the third theme simultaneously highlights how discretionary spaces might represent both possibilities and problematics for balancing organisational and patient needs. Originality/value The study contributes to the knowledge of street-level work in health settings and specifically, the nature of transition work. Importantly, it benefits policy and practice by uncovering mechanisms that could facilitate and impede quality transitions in discrete settings.

Resumen
Introduction. Evaluating functional state of workers engaged intohazardous work conditions, researchers use not only traditional objective study methods, but also subjective parameters including sociologic polls of workers, with subjective evaluation of working process character, fatigue degree, time dimension, lifestyle, etc.Objective. To compare informativeness of integral criteria of work capacity according to WAI (Work Ability Index) questionnaires with other methods traditionally used in occupational physiology.Materials and methods. Th e study covered workers of plate rolling production in JSC «Arselor Mittal-Temirtau». Physiologic and statistical methods were used.Results. Comparative analysis of work capacity index via WAI with other methods traditionally used in occupational physiology demonstrated that WAI dynamics completely corresponds to central nervous system capacity dynamics, partially corresponds to cardiovascular functional strain dynamics, minimally corresponds to neuromuscular apparatus activity. WAI index can indirectly outline body resistance level assessed by transitory disablement morbidity parameters.Conclusions. Work capacity index by WAI could be directly extrapolated to levels of central nervous system strain and workers’ resistance (evaluated by transitory disablement morbidity), because the correlation dependences revealed completely correspond to dynamics of work capacity index by WAI. Such correspondence was not seen for cardiovascular system and neuromuscular apparatus.

Resumen
We are occasionally privileged to observe an important event in the history of some aspect of life, but one is rarely an eyewitness to the birth of a profession—or even a specific division of a profession. Nevertheless, along with others, I had the privilege of participating in a series of events over several years that, with hindsight, I realize made me a witness to the birth of baccalaureate social work. This article reflects the perspective of one person engaged in these events and may differ from the observations of other participants. Yet, it represents my best recollection of events that began nearly fifty years ago.

Machinists (blind, sighted, and visually impaired) answered questions about trust, resource sharing, and empowerment in their work relationships. Employees with low vision were the least trusting and trusted, received the fewest shared resources, and reported proportionately more disempowering relationships. The more educated employees, regardless of their visual status, gave and received trust and resources more readily, saw more of their relationships as empowering, and were seen as empowering by others.

Resumen
Decent work (DW) has emerged as a growing paradigm for all, entailing fundamental principles and rights at work which can pervade all human resource management (HRM)practices. While studies on DW are generally examined on macro levels, such as social, economic, legal, and political, the rising emphasis to realize the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 8 of the UN and highlight the importance of quality of employment in this paper we draw our attention to the DW concept at the micro level The purpose of this study is to explore whether DW is associated with ‘employee performance’ and ‘intention to leave’. Additionally, the aim is to investigate whether work–family conflict (WFC) and family–work conflict (FWC) can serve as moderating variables under the job demands–resources (JD–R) model. Data were collected from employees working for 392 organisations, who represented their companies at a national career fair in Turkey. The results have revealed the role and importance of securing DW as a significant job resource for sustaining positive employee outcomes, including high performance and a reduced intention to leave. Furthermore, the study has shown that while WFC has moderating effects on performance and employees’ turnover intentions, FWC serves as a moderating variable, weakening the relationship between DW and intention to leave in case of adverse family demands.

Resumen
Commune-level civil servants are those who work at the lowest level of government in the Vietnamese administrative system. They directly deal with the people's requests and protect their legitimate rights and interests prescribed by the law. Civil servants and government agencies' performance depends much on their qualities and capabilities, including work capability, sense of responsibility for work, the attitude of serving the people. In this study, the author focuses on analyzing the commune-level civil servants' work capability under some contents like the ability to operate independently and the ability to operate jointly. He created a survey form and conducted a poll of 300 people on commune-level public employees' work capability at their residence based on the theoretical framework of criteria for commune-level civil servants' work capability. The survey area includes six provinces representing three regions of Vietnam such as Thai Binh, Nam Dinh (Northern); Nghe An, Quang Nam (Central); Binh Duong, and Ca Mau (Southern). The survey is performed carefully, with only those who have transacted with the commune government at least five times in the previous five years interviewed.

Resumen
Heat engines, which cyclically transform heat into work, are ubiquitous in technology. Lasers and masers may be viewed as heat engines that rely on population inversion or coherence in the active medium. Here we put forward an unconventional paradigm of a remarkably simple and robust electromagnetic heat-powered engine that bears basic differences to any known maser or laser: The proposed device makes use of only one Raman transition and does not rely on population inversion or coherence in its two-level working medium. Nor does it require any coherent driving. The engine can be powered by the ambient temperature difference between the sky and the ground surface. Its autonomous character and “free” power source make this engine conceptually and technologically enticing.

Resumen
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the processes underlying a systems perspective on work–life balance (WLB), with a particular focus on the tensions and role negotiations that arise within and across work and non-work roles. Design/methodology/approach The authors employed a qualitative methodology, conducting 42 interviews with lawyers at large law firms, which is a context notorious for long work hours. Findings While a cornerstone of a systems view is that balance is social in nature, and that negotiations occur among stakeholders over role expectations, the process through which this happens has remained unexamined both theoretically and empirically. The authors learned that negotiating around work and non-work role expectations are often contested, complex and fluid. The authors contribute to the literature by elaborating on how these negotiations happen in the legal profession, describing factors that inhibit or facilitate role negotiation and exploring how interdependencies within work systems and across work and non-work systems shape these negotiation processes. Originality/value The findings offer a more nuanced conceptualization of the system-level perspective on WLB, and in particular an enriched explanation of work and non-work role negotiation. The authors encourage employers who are interested in promoting WLB to ensure that their employees feel empowered to negotiate their roles, particularly with others in their work systems.

Resumen
Work performance is an essential aspect for both the employees and the organization. However, there were limited studies on the work performance and work engagement of employees in the City Government of General Santos. For this reason, this study attempted to determine the level of work performance of the employees and its effect on work engagement. Correlational methods of research were used. The study involved ninety-three (93) permanent employees. An adopted questionnaire was used. The findings revealed that the work performance of employees is high in terms of contextual performance, this means that they worked and kept their job skills up to date. It is also high in terms of task performance that employees kept in their mind the results that they had to achieve in their work while it is low in terms of counterproductive work behavior, that they complained about unimportant matters in work. Further, work engagement is high in terms of supervisors they consider theirsupervisors as approachable and easy to talk to. In terms of the team, they agreed that the people they work with treat them with respect. In terms of organization, they agreed that the vision and goals of the organization are important, and in terms of jobs, they see positive results because of their work. It was also revealed that most of the components in the work engagement have a significant influence on the sub-variables of work performance.

Resumen
