Resumen
Introduction: Medical tourism is a recent form of travel that involves rapidly increasing overseas trips to address a variety of health issues. Medical tourism websites play a vital role in offering information and resources for people looking for medical treatment overseas. A well-designed and easy-to-use website can help build trust and credibility with potential patients. The aim of this study is to assess the usability of the leading medical tourism websites in Iran.Material and Methods: The present study was a descriptive and cross-sectional study. In this study, the usability of five top medical tourism website in Iran were evaluated using heuristic evaluation method. The checklist was based on Nielsen’s heuristics. The criteria for selecting the top websites were Alexa Rank Checker. Results: The median of usability problems rates in website1, website2, website3, website4, and website5 were 11.1%, 7.7%, 9.9%, 10% and 9.1%, respectively. The median severity of identified problems for website1, website2, website3, website4, and website5 were 2.6%, 2.9%, 2.9%, 2.9% and 2.8%, respectively. The principles of “help and documentation”, “visibility of site status”, and “Security and privacy” in the five websites were categorized into the “highest rate of problems”, “lowest rate of problems”, and “highest severity of problems” groups, respectively. Conclusion: By addressing usability issues of medical tourism websites, organizations can better serve their users and ultimately contribute to the growth of the medical tourism industry.

Resumen
The field of human–computer interaction is constantly evolving and facing new challenges. In this study, we propose an experimental method for designing e-commerce user interfaces with varying levels of aesthetics and usability while maintaining a similar level of user experience. The method is based on the Deming Cycle and Nielsen’s framework for design principles. Four e-commerce websites were designed with low/high levels of aesthetics and usability. Based on 160 surveys, the experimental results demonstrated that it is possible to design user interfaces with varying levels of aesthetics and usability while maintaining a similar level of user design perception. Our findings suggest that usability is more crucial than aesthetics in enhancing user experience, which aligns with previous studies. We also emphasize considering aesthetics and usability in UI design and propose the principle “What You Design Is What You Get” (WYDISWYG) as a foundation for future research. Among the evaluated websites, Website1 (the best design) achieved the highest UI quality, with users perceiving it positively at an impressive rate of almost 0.91 percent. In contrast, Website4 (the worst design) had the lowest UI quality, receiving a perception score of only 0.38 percent. The websites designed with a combination of aesthetics and usability, Website2 and Website3, garnered different perception values of 0.79 and 0.51, respectively. While this study has some limitations, such as the subjective selection of features and the focus on e-commerce websites only, it provides a starting point for further investigation into the selection of design principles, consideration of other website domains, and clarification of users’ perception of UI elements to align with Nielsen’s principles.

Resumen
Website hierarchy is a central principle for organizing information in websites with implications for user orientation on the Web. Employing websites for children as case studies, this paper proposes a conceptualization of website hierarchy developed by adapting a tool from systemic functional linguistics to the analysis of websites. This new conceptualization draws on the strengths and reconciles the differences of existing ones in order to reflect the fluidity of websites as hypermedia texts on the WWW and the role that the interaction between content organization, webpage and navigation design plays in revealing a website's hierarchical organization and thereby orienting users within it.

Resumen
In many cases, temporary websites may be simple, accessible solutions for knowledge management and dissemination of information. However, such sites may become outdated as the funding ends, but yet in many cases, still publicly available through the Internet. The issue of website sustainability is a relevant topic for all organizations that have websites. Website lifecycle, knowledge management, and website sustainability issues are discussed through a theoretical-based literature review. These issues are then summarized and used as lessons learned for the case study approach of this paper. The aim is to identify a solution to address a website’s life and longevity, post project. A practical case study assessment of the issue of project website sustainability is needed to address the website’s longevity—post project—as creation is often made through temporary endeavors. Recommendations for future project websites are made as the outcomes and results of this study and are expressed in the form of suggested practices for project website sustainability in future projects.

Resumen
Academic websites play a crucial role in supporting learning activities and academic growth in the digital age. These websites are created and maintained by academic institutions to provide resources, services, and information to the academic community. Academic websites aim to promote the institution, facilitate communication, and disseminate educational content. However, as these websites develop in complexity and draw more visitors, it is crucial to guarantee their efficient operation and satisfying user experience. For academic websites to operate and be reliable, top-notch software development and thorough software testing are required. The performance testing of academic websites using Apache JMeter and the Web Server Stress Tool is the main topic of this study. This study's conclusions are intended to improve software quality and performance for academic website managers and developers. Gathering data, establishing the test environment, planning and creating the test, carrying it out, and evaluating the system in light of the test results are all steps in the performance testing process. The website operates well under heavy traffic, according to the findings of the performance testing done with Apache JMeter. However, the Web Server Stress Tool shows that the website's performance is insufficient under significant user loads. This test gives information about the website's functionality and any potential problems, which can then be used to determine whether speed improvements are required.

Resumen
Today, with the growth of internet usage, sports users can easily interact with other fans or sports organisations. As a result, the website's quality has improved over time. However, there was a dearth evidence demonstrating the website quality related to users' satisfaction. Therefore, the study aimed to identify the most preferred factor of the quality of websites among the website users, identify the most preferred factor of user satisfaction towards the quality of websites, and investigate the relationship between the sports club website's quality and users' satisfaction. Two hundred forty-eight respondents (78.2% were male) from Melaka United Soccer Association fans were involved. The results showed a complementary relationship (C.R.) was the most preferred factor for quality websites and trust was the primary factor of users' satisfaction. Furthermore, there was a relationship between the usefulness of information to users' satisfaction (inertia, trust and satisfaction), ease of use to trust and satisfaction, and a relationship between entertainment and inertia. The results from the research will become a guide to the website administrator to improve the quality, which will increase user satisfaction.

Resumen
E-government uses information technology to change government relations with citizens, the private sector, and other institutions. The importance of identifying e-government performance cannot be separated from the use of the website. Thus, assessing the website quality is very important as it helps determine the quality of e-government services and improve service processes. In almost two years of implementing e-government in West Sumatra, there has been no evaluation of the provincial and district/city government websites, which are the primary tools for implementing e-government today. In the Covid-19 pandemic period, the website's role has become more critical as a means for the public to get the latest information regarding developments in handling the pandemic. This study focuses on assessing and evaluating the level of maturity (maturity assessment) of the provincial and district/city government websites in implementing e-government and its relationship in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Forty websites were assessed for their e-government maturity in this study. The website consists of 19 district/city websites, one provincial webpage, and 20 websites for handling Covid-19 for each district/city and province. The maturity assessment was measured using the United Nations (UN) e-government maturity model. This study found that government websites are still at stage 1 and stage 2 maturity models. Meanwhile, the Covid-19 handling website is on stage1. It is hoped that the government in West Sumatra will pay more attention to improving e-government through websites in the current pandemic era.

Barreda, Davila Albert. "Website Interactivity as a Branding Tool for Hotel Websites". Doctoral diss., University of Central Florida, 2014. http://digital.library.ucf.edu/cdm/ref/collection/ETD/id/6245.

Resumen
The dissertation explored the relationships among Website interactivity, brand knowledge, consumer-based brand equity and behavioral intentions in the context of hotel Websites. Based on an in-depth literature review, a theory-driven model was proposed and ten hypotheses were developed. The dissertation employed an empirical study based on a survey design, and collected data via a marketing company. Respondents who booked a hotel room online using hotel branded Websites in the last 12 months were approached to complete the online questionnaire. Four hundred ninety six (496) respondents completed the online questionnaire by answering to questions related to their last hotel booking experience. Analysis was conducted in two phases: (1) Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and (2) Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The overall fit of the CFA model and the final SEM model were acceptable, indicating an adequate fit to the data. The results suggested that the two dimensions of Website interactivity, namely system interactivity and social interactivity, positively impacted the components of brand knowledge, and that system interactivity had a stronger impact as compared to social interactivity. Although, social interactivity was not found to have a significant direct effect on brand awareness, the results showed that social interactivity had a significant impact on brand image. Furthermore, the relationship between brand equity and behavioral intentions was positive and significant. The empirical study offered theoretical for utilizing Website interactivity as a branding tool in the hotel context. Additionally, the results provide practical insights into branding strategies, Website development, and behavioral intentions enhancement. Very few studies have empirically examined and incorporated Website interactivity dimensions and brand knowledge with consumer-based brand equity and behavioral intentions. This gap in the literature has been compounded by an absence of empirical studies on Website interactivity as a tool to develop brands and behavioral intentions in the context of hotel Websites. The present dissertation closes this gap in the literature by reporting on a questionnaire of US adult travelers that offered data on those theoretical associations. Conceptually, the results support the influential impact of Website interactivity on brand elements and behavioral intentions.

Resumen
The World Wide Web has emerged as a powerful communications medium. With the development of new technologies, organizational websites are getting bigger and more complex, using design elements such as sound and motion to engage users' attention. This project will look at how users respond to the ways designers and developers present information on the web in a dynamic form which incorporates sound and motion. The research will focus on evaluating the communicative effectiveness of websites (particularly websites with different degrees of dynamic content in them), and will see if certain ways of presenting dynamic content are more effective than others. The method used will consist of observing users while they try to accomplish specific tasks on selected websites, through interviews, questionnaires and through verbal protocol ('think aloud') analysis. Effectiveness will be measured by such things as how long it takes them to complete each task, how successful they were in finding the necessary information, and the ease of use. Other factors which provide possible explanations for differences in effectiveness will also be measured; these will be drawn from two theoretical bases: communication theory (Fiske, 1982) and social psychology (Ajzen, 1991; Klobas & Morrison, 1999). The outcome of the research will be identification of problem areas associated with the effectiveness of information delivery by dynamic sites. Guidelines for communication designers, information architects and developers of websites, as they evaluate the success of dynamic sites, will be an appendix to the research.

Mahdmina, Ayeh. "Can generic health website quality assessment tools identify the 'best' websites for a specific health topic? : a study of orthognathic treatment websites". Thesis, University of Liverpool, 2015. http://livrepository.liverpool.ac.uk/3001646/.

Texto completo
Resumen
Introduction: Health website quality assessment tools are designed to guide patients to high quality websites and away from those of poor quality. However, the ability of such tools to do this successfully is unclear. Aim: To assess the applicability of three recognised generic health website quality assessment tools (LIDA, DISCERN and HWAT 3.0) to a specific health topic by ascertaining whether they can identify the highest quality orthognathic websites. Method: A cross-sectional study was carried out to assess the correlation between the quality scorings of 100 orthognathic websites produced from a Google search, when the websites were examined using these three tools. The rankings of the 100 websites produced with each tool were also compared with quality scores from a newly developed (AM) checklist which had been specifically developed for the assessment of orthognathic context. The AM checklist was used as a standard to assess if orthognathic websites contained all of the information perceived by clinicians as necessary for their patients. Results: DISCERN was the only tool to identify correctly the highest quality orthognathic websites. A strong correlation was found between DISCERN and the AM checklist (r = 0.816 p < 0.01) but no other correlations were found. The AM checklist and LIDA both had good inter- and intra-examiner reliability. However, the reliability of the HWAT 3.0 and DISCERN tools was moderate. The AM checklist and DISCERN indicated that UK websites were of significantly better quality than US websites. No significant differences were found between the quality of websites according to the Google ranking and suffix. Blogs had the highest overall scores and were comparable to websites of hospitals and professional organisations. Conclusions: Generic health website quality assessment tools require further development to increase their reliability and ability to identify high quality websites. UK orthognathic websites can be used as a marker of high quality compared with US websites but the Google ranking and suffix are poor quality markers. Blogs should be investigated further as a possible useful resource of information for orthognathic patients.

Resumen
Website design practitioners and researchers have proposed criteria for effective website design based on experience and common sense, intuition, rules-of-thumb, and empirical studies of website usability. Typically, published checklists for evaluating websites emphasize design features such as information layout, navigability, and the technical performance of the website. University undergraduate students often first learn seriously about website design in introductory information systems courses. This paper describes a teaching pedagogy to help students learn how to evaluate commercial and organizational websites. The pedagogy emphasizes students developing their own criteria of website effectiveness and information quality, designing their own checklist incorporating those criteria, and then utilizing their checklist to rate websites in several e-commerce domains. The pedagogy emphasizes a mix of theoretical, practical, exercising, and real-world learning approaches.

Resumen
Aim/Purpose: This study aims to investigate various characteristics from both victims as defaced websites and defacers that linked to a risk of being defaced through a set of descriptive analysis. Background: The current figures from a spectrum of sources, both academic and non-academic reports, proved a progressive increase of website defacement attacks to numerous organisations. Methodology: This study obtains a set of data from Zone-H site, which is accessible to the public, including 99,437 defaced websites. The descriptive analysis is applied in order to understand the motives of defacers and the probability of website re-defacements through the statistical investigation. Findings: The motives for defacing websites are driven mainly due to entertaining reasons. This in turn has an implication on the type of techniques defacers attack websites.

Resumen
As the world becomes increasingly digitized, the demand for personalized websites is also gradually growing [1]. However, creating a personal website is not an easy task. Generally speaking, people can invest time and effort to learn programming languages for website development, or they can spend money to purchase services fromprofessional web development companies. Both of these methods require significant investment in terms of time or money. To democratize the creation of personal websites, we have developed a program that automatically generates personalized web pages. Users simply need to input instructions in natural language, and the program will generate a personalized website based on the information provided. Websites produced in this manner usually have high quality while simultaneously saving substantial amounts of time and money [2].

Resumen
A good interface design is crucial for improving user experience, user stickiness and marketing effectiveness in the marketing process of shopping websites. This study is based on subjective and objective multi-modal data synchronization technology, bio-electrical signal technology, eye tracking technology, etc. The aim of the study is to explore the impact of website interface design on website marketing effectiveness. Through researching the emotional experience and behavioral response characteristics of 35 participants who completed browsing and purchasing tasks on three shopping websites (A website, B website and C website), we predicted the effectiveness of website marketing. It was found that during the browsing task, participants displayed significantly higher value of EEG frequency domain indicator α when using A website than those when using B and C websites, and the subjective evaluation score of further attractiveness was significantly higher for website A than those for the other two websites. 62.86% of participants chose website A when executing purchase tasks. In order to predict the marketing effectiveness of the website, 18 sets of modal features were extracted, including photoelectric capacitance pulse wave signal, eye movement state signal, skin electric response signal and EEG signal. The outliers of each feature set were corrected through three-sigma rule, and the corrected features were used as input parameters. The CART decision tree model was used for training. Features were selected and decision trees were constructed based on the Gini impure index. This established a marketing effectiveness model with likes and dislikes as classification objectives.

Resumen
There are many aspects that influence the importance of a university. Among these, web visibility is taking advantage of available technology, focusing on the benefits of internet and social media. This paper provides an analysis of the Romanian public and private universities websites, using alexa.com, a tool for website traffic analysis. Moreover, the official social media accounts of universities (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Flickr, YouTube and Instagram) were analysed, collecting several data such as: the number of likes and followers, the number of subscribers and the number of posts. The analysis was performed using ANOVA and Nonparametric Test for the presence via websites and Spearman and Pearson correlation to assess the correlation between social media and website traffic. In general, public universities from Romania have more visibility and a higher number of links to their websites compared to private ones. Based on the fact that Facebook and site content are often related, it should be noted that activity on Facebook may improve website rankings for Romanian universities.

Resumen
This paper focuses on the influence of colour on customers’ trust in websites in the fields of online banking and cryptocurrency trading. The literature reviews associated with the use of colour in web design shows that colour has a significant influence on customers’ interaction with websites. Considering that, this study aimed to determine the relationship between used colour and trust towards websites in the specific areas of online banking and cryptocurrency trading. The method used to explore these relationships was an online survey, based on Likert scale. The survey inquired data about respondents, such as gender, age, level of education and their use of online banking and cryptocurrency trading. The main part of the survey was the one where the respondents were presented with website stimuli that differed in colour, and evaluated through grades on the Likert scale on given statements related to trust. To define to which extent, the chosen colour palette along with some users’ general characteristics impacts the perception toward trust of presented websites, Kruskal–Wallis one-way analysis of variance and Mann–Whitney U test was conducted. The results indicated that there is a difference in respondents’ trust towards websites in the fields of online banking and cryptocurrency trading depending on the colour used as the dominant in website design. Statistical significance was partly reached to their age and gender but not to their level of education. Overall, the study showed that when designing websites in the fields of online banking and cryptocurrency trading, choosing colour palettes that are needed to be trustworthy to the targeted audience is the issue that should be addressed with attention.
