Resumen
The volume of web search data stored in search engine log is increasing and has become big search log data. The web search log has been the source of data for mining based on web document clustering techniques to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of information retrieval. In this paper Deep Learning Model Convolution Neural Network(CNN) is used in big web search log data mining to learn the semantic representation of a document. These semantic documents vectors are clustered using K-means to group relevant documents for effective web document clustering. Experiment was done on the data set of web search query and associated clicked URLs to measure the quality of clusters based on document semantic representation using Deep learning model CNN. The clusters analysis was performed based on WCSS(the sum of squared distances of documents samples to their closest cluster center) and decrease in the WCSS in comparison to TF.IDF keyword based clusters confirm the effectiveness of CNN in web search log mining for effective web document clustering.

Resumen
Clustering the document in data mining is one of the traditional approach in which the same documents that are more relevant are grouped together. Document clustering take part in achieving accuracy that retrieve information for systems that identifies the nearest neighbors of the document. Day to day the massive quantity of data is being generated and it is clustered. According to particular sequence to improve the cluster qualityeven though different clustering methods have been introduced, still many challenges exist for the improvement of document clustering. For web search purposea document in group is efficiently arranged for the result retrieval. The users accordingly search query in an organized way. Hierarchical clustering is attained by document clustering. To the greatest algorithms for groupingdo not concentrate on the semantic approach, hence resulting to the unsatisfactory output clustering. The involuntary approach of organizing documents of web like Google, Yahoo is often considered as a reference. A distinct method to identify the existing group of similar things in the previously organized documents and retrieves effective document classifier for new documents. In this paper the main concentration is on hierarchical clustering and k-means algorithms, hence prove that k-means and its variant are efficient than hierarchical clustering along with this by implementing greedy fast k-means algorithm (GFA) for cluster document in efficient way is considered.

Resumen
In this paper, we propose a web document ranking method using topic modeling for effective information collection and classification. The proposed method is applied to the document ranking technique to avoid duplicated crawling when crawling at high speed. Through the proposed document ranking technique, it is feasible to remove redundant documents, classify the documents efficiently, and confirm that the crawler service is running. The proposed method enables rapid collection of many web documents; the user can search the web pages with constant data update efficiently. In addition, the efficiency of data retrieval can be improved because new information can be automatically classified and transmitted. By expanding the scope of the method to big data based web pages and improving it for application to various websites, it is expected that more effective information retrieval will be possible.

Resumen
This paper proposes models for managing documents in a web engineering context. First, it proposes a document model to better manage multilingual composite documents. The approach, inspired by the FRBR report, is to group all versions, translations, formats, etc. of a document in a unique document tree, putting document data and metadata at the same level. Then it proposes a model for prototyping applications, using a combination of class-based inheritance and prototype programming principles. This model applies to document models, documents views and actions. Finally, it proposes a metadata management model, laying foundations for easier integration and management of information in web applications. The proposed models are implemented in the framework Sydonie and several applications are built with the model and framework.

Resumen
This paper discusses the tool for the main text and image extraction (extracting and parsing the important data) from a web document. This paper describes our proposed algorithm based on the Document Object Model (DOM) and natural language processing (NLP) techniques and other approaches for extracting information from web pages using various classification techniques such as support vector machine, decision tree techniques, naive Bayes, and K-nearest neighbor. The main aim of the developed algorithm was to identify and extract the main block of a web document that contains the text of the article and the relevant images. The algorithm on a sample of 45 web documents of different types was applied. In addition, the issue of web pages, from the structure of the document to the use of the Document Object Model (DOM) for their processing, was analyzed. The Document Object Model was used to load and navigation of the document. It also plays an important role in the correct identification of the main block of web documents. The paper also discusses the levels of natural language. These methods of automatic natural language processing help to identify the main block of the web document. In this way, the all-textual parts and images from the main content of the web document were extracted. The experimental results show that our method achieved a final classification accuracy of 88.18%.

Resumen
In this paper, we construct a web-based document life-cycle management model. The model manages documents which consist of the institute library from their creation to the archive state. For an online office system, we aim at solving three issues: network delay, version storage problems and deletion strategy. To solve network delay, we propose both local and online document synchronized editing model. In addition, we combine the longest recursive chain with recursive chain time to optimize the system response time. In order to optimize documents to be deleted, we propose a two-step optimized method. In the performance test, the effectiveness of the method is confirmed to solve the issues of documents management.

Resumen
Information retrieval based on keywords search retrieves irrelevant documents because of vocabulary gap between document content and search queries. The keyword vector representation of web documents is very high dimensional, and keyword terms are unable to capture the semantic of document content. Ontology has been built in various domains for representing the semantics of documents based on concepts relevant to document subject. The web documents often contain multiple topics; therefore, fuzzy c-means document clustering has been used for discovering clusters with overlapping boundaries. In this paper, the method is proposed for intelligent information retrieval using hybrid of fuzzy c-means clustering and ontology in query session mining. Thus, use of fuzzy clusters of web query session concept vector improve quality of clusters for effective web search. The proposed method was evaluated experimentally, and results show the improvement in precision of search results.

Resumen
Document similarity search is to retrieve a ranked list of similar documents and find documents similar to a query document in a text corpus or a web page on the web. But most of the previous researches regarding searching for similar documents are focused on classifying documents based on the contents of documents. To solve this problem, we propose a novel retrieval approach based on undirected graphs to represent each document in corpus. In addition, this study also considers unified graph in conjunction with multiple graphs to improve the quality of searching for similar documents. Experimental results on the Reuters-21578 data demonstrate that the proposed system has better performance and success than the traditional approach.

This thesis describes WebDoc, an automated system that classifies Web documents according to the Library of Congress classification system. This work is an extension of an early version of the system that successfully generated indexes for journal articles. The unique features of Web documents, as well as how they will affect the design of a classification system, are discussed. We argue that full-text analysis of Web documents is inevitable, and contextual information must be used to assist the classification. The architecture of the WebDoc system is presented. We performed experiments on it with and without the assistance of contextual information. The results show that contextual information improved the system?s performance significantly.

The Web has evolved, in the past few years, from a document centered approach, to become a web of applications. In this regard, multilingual composite documents management has become a focus point for Content Management Systems (CMS). This thesis offers a new approach, inspired by the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records report (FRBR). We propose tree-based model to describe relations between a digital document's various versions, translations and formats. The proposed approach allows composite documents to be rendered according to a user's preferences, using content negotiation and relationships between documents at the highest level of the tree. We created a web development framework called Sydonie (SYstème de gestion de DOcuments Numériques pour l’Internet et l’Édition), a research and industrial project. The proposed model has been implemented and validated within the Sydonie framework. Using both industry and academic work in the field of web engineering, Sydonie offers new ways to develop web applications. Finally, we propose a model for web aplications to interact with documents' metadata. The architecture we propose helps web developpers to implement metadata management in web applications more easily

With the advance of the Semantic Web and the Open Linked Data initiatives, a huge quantity of RDF data is available on Internet. The goal is to make this data readable for humans and machines, adopting special formats and connecting them by using International Resource Identifiers (IRIs), which are abstractions of real resources of the world. As more data is published and shared, sensitive information is also provided. In consequence, the privacy of entities of interest (e.g., people, companies) is a real challenge, requiring special techniques to ensure privacy and adequate security over data available in an environment in which every user has access to the information without any restriction (Web). Then, three main aspects are considered to ensure entity protection: (i) Preserve privacy, by identifying and treating the data that can compromise the privacy of the entities (e.g., identifiers, quasi-identifiers); (ii) Identify utility of the public data for diverse applications (e.g., statistics, testing, research); and (iii) Model background knowledge that can be used for adversaries (e.g., number of relationships, a specific relationship, information of a node). Anonymization is one technique for privacy protection that has been successfully applied in practice for databases and graph structures. However, studies about anonymization in the context of RDF data, are really limited. These studies are initial works for protecting individuals on RDF data, since they show a practical anonymization approach for simple scenarios as the use of generalization and suppression operations based on hierarchies. However, for complex scenarios, where a diversity of data is presented, the existing anonymization approaches does not ensure an enough privacy. Thus, in this context, we propose an anonymization framework, which analyzes the neighbors according to the background knowledge, focused on the privacy of entities represented as nodes in the RDF data. Our anonymization approach is able to provide better privacy, since it takes into account the l-diversity condition as well as the neighbors (nodes and edges) of entities of interest. Also, an automatic anonymization process is provided by the use of anonymization operations associated to the datatypes

This thesis builds upon the work on the Social Semantic Web, a research perspective on the complementarity and coevolution of two aspects of the Web, the social and semantic one. Web development in recent years has given rise to a huge graph of semantically structured data, partly resulting from user activity. We are particularly interested in the use of this graph in order to facilitate access to information found on the Web, in a useful, informative manner. This problem is particularly studied in scenarios related to innovation on the Web - practices to use Web technologies to contribute to the emergence of innovation. A notable specificity of this context, so far little discussed in literature, is the need to encourage serendipity and discovery. Beyond the simple relevance sought in any search and recommendation situation on the Web, the context of innovation requires a certain openness to allow the user to access information relevant yet unexpected, and should also open opportunities to learn and translate ideas from one domain to another. The work presented in this thesis therefore aims to assist, directly or indirectly, the innovators online (eg, companies seeking to innovate, experts and carriers of ideas) to make discoveries. We address each of these challenges in different parts of the thesis. This vision is principally implemented through the construction of an expert search system, Hy.SemEx, a system for keyword recommendation allowing to discover unknown relevant keywords, HyProximity, and an approach for recommending collaborators to experts in order to help them face multidisciplinary problems

Resumen
It is shown that the calculation of scientometric indicators of the scientist and also the scientific journal continues to be an actual problem nowadays. It is revealed that the leading scientometric databases have the capabilities of automated metadata collection from the scientific journal website by the use of specialized electronic document management systems, in particular Open Journal Systems. It is established that Open Journal Systems successfully exports metadata about an article from scientific journals to scientometric databases Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar. However, there is no standard method of export from Open Journal Systems to such scientometric databases as the Russian Science Citation Index and Index Copernicus, which determined the need for research. The aim of the study is to develop the plug-in to the Open Journal Systems for the export of data from this system to scientometric database Russian Science Citation Index. As a result of the study, an infological model for exporting metadata from Open Journal Systems to the Russian Science Citation Index was proposed. The SirenExpo plug-in was developed to export data from Open Journal Systems to the Russian Science Citation Index by the use of the Articulus release preparation system.

Texto completo
Resumen
By analyzing a novel dataset on publications by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), we shed light on the extent to which the knowledge production of a multilateral development bank can reach its beneficiaries. We find that IDB publications are downloaded mostly in the American continent, with Colombia, Peru, Mexico and the United States leading the ranking. Moreover, during the COVID-19 pandemic downloads of IDB publications increased, both in the world and in Latin America and the Caribbean. Some characteristics of publications are significantly associated with higher numbers of downloads, such as the language of publications: documents in at least two languages or in Spanish only are downloaded more often than documents in English only, suggesting that it is important to disseminate research in the language of the targeted audience. As for the online discussion on the IDB, we find that mentions of the IDB touch different sectors important for development (especially modernization of the state, health, labor markets and financial markets), they increase when a document is published, and also when a loan is approved.

Malek, Mohammad Abdul, Aiko Kikkawa, Yasuyuki Sawada y Abdul Kalam Azad. Rural Development in Bangladesh Over Four Decades: Findings from Mahabub Hossain Panel Data and the Way Forward. Asian Development Bank Institute, diciembre de 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.56506/ppxg8315.

Texto completo
Resumen
The Mahabub Hossain Panel Data (MHPD) was initiated in 1988 and maintained by and named after the late Mahabub Hossain, a well-known agricultural and development economist who led a number of reputed organizations in Bangladesh (Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies and BRAC) and in the region (International Rice Research Institute). We portray the historical context, sampling evolution, survey structure and methodology, and academic and policy contributions of the MHPD with some lessons learned for the next step forward. The MHPD has tracked rural households for a period of over 3 decades (1988–2014) with five waves of household surveys covering over 2,800 households and has collected a wide range of information on household composition, schooling of household members, assets, cropping intensity and patterns including cost and return, employment and income, consumption, participation in different government and nongovernment programs. We reviewed several books and journal articles authored by Mahabub Hossain and related academic papers and documents and collated information on MHPD, including (i) mapping out information on past and ongoing panel or cross-sectional household survey data series in Bangladesh; (ii) undertaking the review of all past rounds of MHPD survey documents, such as survey implementation plans, questionnaires, codebooks, databases, and processed data; (iii) consulting relevant stakeholders, including the past implementers of the surveys and the users of the data as needed to validate documented information; (iv) taking stock of the contribution of MHPD to academic literature and policy development; and (v) drawing a number of lessons learned for future data collection and policy making. The report aims to (i) serve as a comprehensive reference document for scholars and policy makers who wish to understand MHPD for possible use in their research; and (ii) provide a comprehensive baseline from which we can consider ways to enhance MHPD further to continue contributing to understanding the economic and social issues of today and near future. By compiling all associated research work based on MHPD, we offer a historical landscape of Bangladesh’s social and economic development and a credible explanation for the Bangladesh development model for global comparison.

Pitt, Jordan A., Neelakanteswar Aluru y Hahn Hahn. Supplemental materials for book chapter: Microplastics in Marine Food Webs. Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, diciembre de 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.1575/1912/29556.

Texto completo
Resumen
The identification of microplastics (MPs; 1 µm - 5 mm) and the inferred presence of nanoplastics (NPs; <1 µm) in a wide variety of marine animals, including many seafood species, has raised important questions about the presence, movement, and impacts of these particles in marine food webs. Understanding microplastic dynamics in marine food webs requires elucidation of the processes involved, including bioaccumulation, trophic transfer, and biomagnification. However, in the context of microplastics and nanoplastics these concepts are often misunderstood. In this chapter, we provide a critical review of the literature on the behavior of plastic particles in marine food webs. We find clear evidence of trophic transfer, equivocal evidence for bioaccumulation, and no evidence for biomagnification. We also identify a number of knowledge gaps that limit our ability to draw firm conclusions at this time. These supplemental documents are in support of an invited chapter to be published in this book: S.E. Shumway and J.E. Ward (Eds.) Plastics in the Sea: Occurrence and Impacts (Elsevier 2023).
