ABSTRACT We study the mass assembly and spin evolution of supermassive black holes (BHs) across cosmic time as well as the impact of gravitational recoil on the population of nuclear and wandering BHs (wBHs) by using the semi-analytical model L-Galaxies run on top of Millennium merger trees. We track spin changes that BHs experience during both coalescence events and gas accretion phases. For the latter, we assume that spin changes are coupled with the bulge assembly. This assumption leads to predictions for the median spin values of z = 0 BHs that depend on whether they are hosted by pseudo-bulges, classical bulges or ellipticals, being $\overline{a} \sim 0.9$, 0.7 and 0.4, respectively. The outcomes of the model display a good consistency with $z \le 4$ quasar luminosity functions and the $z = 0$ BH mass function, spin values, and BH correlation. Regarding the wBHs, we assume that they can originate from both the disruption of satellite galaxies (orphan wBH) and ejections due to gravitational recoils (ejected wBH). The model points to a number density of wBHs that increases with decreasing redshift, although this population is always $\rm {\sim}2\, dex$ smaller than the one of nuclear BHs. At all redshifts, wBHs are typically hosted in $\rm {\it M}_{halo} \gtrsim 10^{13} \, M_{\odot }$ and $\rm {\it M}_{stellar} \gtrsim 10^{10} \, M_{\odot }$, being orphan wBHs the dominant type. Besides, independently of redshift and halo mass, ejected wBHs inhabit the central regions (${\lesssim}\rm 0.3{\it R}_{200}$) of the host DM halo, while orphan wBH linger at larger scales (${\gtrsim}\rm 0.5{\it R}_{200}$). Finally, we find that gravitational recoils cause a progressive depletion of nuclear BHs with decreasing redshift and stellar mass. Moreover, ejection events lead to changes in the predicted local BH–bulge relation, in particular for BHs in pseudo-bulges, for which the relation is flattened at $\rm {\it M}_{bulge} \gt 10^{10.2}\, M_{\odot }$ and the scatter increase up to ${\sim}\rm 3\, dex$.

Industrial agriculture (IA) has been recognized among the main drivers of biodiversity loss, climate change, and native pollinator decline. Here we summarize the known negative effects of IA on pollinator biodiversity and illustrate these problems by considering the case of Chile, a “world biodiversity hotspot” (WBH) where food exports account for a considerable share of the economy in this country. Most of Chile’s WBH area is currently being replaced by IA at a fast pace, threatening local biodiversity. We present an agroecological strategy for sustainable food production and pollinator conservation in food-producing WBHs. In this we recognize native pollinators as internal inputs that cannot be replaced by IA technological packages and support the development of agroecological and biodiversity restorative practices to protect biodiversity. We suggest four fundamental pillars for food production change based on: (1) sharing the land, restoring and protecting; (2) ecological intensification; (3) localized knowledge, research, and technological development; and (4) territorial planning and implementation of socio-agroecological policies. This approach does not need modification of native pollination services that sustain the world with food and basic subsistence goods, but a paradigm change where the interdependency of nature and human wellbeing must be recognized for ensuring the world’s food security and sovereignty.

Scope management allows project managers to react when a project underperforms regarding schedule, budget, and/or quality at the execution stage. Scope management can also minimize project changes and budget omissions, as well as improve the accuracy of project cost estimates and risk responses. For scope management to be effective, though, it needs to rely on a robust work breakdown structure (WBS). A robust WBS hierarchically and faithfully reflects all project tasks and work packages so that projects are easier to manage. If done properly, the WBS also allows meeting the project objectives while delivering the project on time, on budget, and with the required quality. This paper analyzes whether the integration of a cost breakdown structure (CBS) can lead to the generation of more robust WBSs in construction projects. Over the last years, some international organizations have standardized and harmonized different cost classification systems (e.g., ISO 12006-2, ISO 81346-12, OmniClass, CoClass, UniClass). These cost databases have also been introduced into building information modeling (BIM) frameworks. We hypothesize that in BIM environments, if these CBSs are used to generate the project WBS, several advantages are gained such as sharper project definition. This enhanced project definition reduces project contradictions at both planning and execution stages, anticipates potential schedule and budget deviations, improves resource allocation, and overall it allows a better response to potential project risks. The hypothesis that the use of CBSs can generate more robust WBSs is tested by the response analysis of a questionnaire survey distributed among construction practitioners and project managers. By means of structural equation modeling (SEM), the correlation (agreement) and perception differences between two 250-respondent subsamples (technical project staff vs. project management staff) are also discussed. Results of this research support the use of CBSs by construction professionals as a basis to generate WBSs for enhanced project management (PM).

In project management, a clear definition of the objective is required for the success of a project. Scope management is a performance indicator used to ascertain compliance with predefined project boundaries. The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is an essential part of the scope management process and a tool in project planning. Although there is much research on WBS, there is a lack of information regarding the relationship between the selection of WBS orientation and project completion time. In this paper, the influence of alternative WBS orientations on project completion time is assessed. The Project Life Cycle (PLC) and technology (T) WBS were applied across two projects—the construction of a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) facility and the Renovation of an Office Complex (ROC)—using a top-down decomposition methodology. The PLC-WBS and T-WBS were created utilizing Figma software. The project duration was determined using the critical path method, which was implemented in the Python programming language. Based on WBS selection, differences were discovered in the definition of the project deliverables, network construction, and aggregation of work packages. These discrepancies had an impact on the technological relationships between activities by reducing opportunities for parallel processing. The LPG project was completed in 86 days using the PLC-WBS and in 80 days using the T-WBS orientation. For ROC, the project can be accomplished within 128 and 126 days, using the PLC-WBS and T-WBS orientation, respectively. This outcome suggested that there might be an association between the WBS and the project objective. Therefore, an assessment of different WBSs in project scope management demonstrated their potential influence on decision-making in activity planning and scheduling, network construction, and project objectives.

Geothermal energy resources associated with disused hydrocarbon wells in Italian oilfields represent a considerable source of renewable energy. Using the information available on Italian hydrocarbon wells and on-field temperatures, two simplified closed-loop-type systems models were implemented in the Python environment and applied to a selected hydrocarbon well (Trecate4) located inside the Italian Villafortuna–Trecate field (Northwestern Italy). Considering the maximum extracted working fluid temperatures, Coaxial WBHE turned out to be a better performing technology than the U-tube version. The obtained outflow temperatures of the working fluid at the wellhead for Coaxial and U-tube WBHEs of 98.6 °C and 84 °C, respectively, are both potentially exploitable for ensuring a multi-variant and comprehensive use of the resource through its application in sectors such as the food industry, horticultural and flower fields.

Abstract Indonesia’s waste management target is 100% access to waste service by 2025 comprising 70% waste handling and 30% waste reduction. Target achievement requires support from all stakeholders in waste management including the community as stated in National waste law 18/2008. Community involvement in waste management is accommodated through the informal waste sector, including waste bank national wide. In this study, the community involvement in waste separation and reduction through WB was measured using willingness to accept (WTA). WTA as a tool of contingent valuation method was used using questionnaires containing some dichotomous questions to get the data for the analysis to find out the responses of the community for the responsibility to separate the waste. Questionnaires were distributed among WB’s members as respondents to identify their willingness for waste separation and sale. Previously, WB efficiency was calculated using elasticity index whose variables are income and the active members. The acceptable price for recyclable material sold to WB was assessed afterward. The result shows that out of five WBs, three WBs are efficient, and these three WBs have stable active members generating stable income which is a determinant for WB efficiency. The regression community’s acceptance is 92.5% indicating that most people have a positive response to WB, but they expect a higher selling price for the recyclable waste. Moreover, acceptable prices and sufficient service for WB members are the factors that can stimulate the community to involve in waste separation and sale while supporting the sustainable waste management.

To identify sound source locations by using Fourier-based Near-field Acoustical Holography (NAH), a large number of microphone measurements is generally required to span the source region and ensure a sufficiently high spatial sampling rate. As a result, such measurements are costly, a fact which has discouraged the industrial application of NAH to identify sound source locations. However, recently, compressive sensing approaches have made it feasible to identify concentrated sound sources with a limited number of microphone measurements. In the present work, sound radiation from the front face of a diesel engine was measured by using one set of measurements from a 35-channel combo-array. The locations of significant noise sources were then identified by using three compressive sensing algorithms: Wideband Acoustical Holography (WBH), l1-norm minimization, and a hybrid approach which combined WBH and l1-norm minimization. The latter approach takes advantage of the l1’ norm’s ability to locate spatially distinct sources, and WBH’s ability to suppress “ghost” sources. It was found that the hybrid algorithm can localize and visualize the major noise sources over a broad range of frequencies, even though using a relatively small number of microphones. Finally, comments are made regarding sound field reconstruction differences between the algorithms.

A proliferação de dispositivos móveis e de redes sem fio tem encorajado um crescente interesse em sistemas e serviços baseados na localização de dispositivos portáteis, especialmente em ambientes internos, como edifícios e residências. A localização de um dispositivo portátil é um parâmetro crítico em aplicações baseadas no contexto, as quais requerem grande precisão na estimativa de localização. Entretanto, projetar e desenvolver sistemas de localização em interiores, com crescente precisão na estimação e decrescente custo de instalação, é um problema desafiador. Uma abordagem bastante interessante para satisfazer os requisitos de baixo custo consiste em utilizar as infra-estruturas existentes de redes locais sem fio (WLAN) no padrão IEEE 802.11, que já estão instaladas em muitos ambientes. A maioria das abordagens para localização usando WLAN propostas na literatura é baseada em técnicas probabilísticas, que apresentam bom desempenho e estão cada vez mais populares. Estas técnicas usam um mapa com a informação da potência recebida do sinal (RSSI) juntamente com a freqüência de presença de sinal coletada de múltiplos pontos de acesso Wi-Fi, em diferentes localizações físicas no ambiente. Porém, a informação sobre freqüência de presença de sinal pode ser muito ruidosa devido à natureza imprevisível das falhas de transmissão, as quais podem ocorrer decorrentes de diversos fatores. Este trabalho propõe um novo sistema de localização Wi-Fi, o WBLS (Wireless Based Location System), que não considera a informação sobre freqüência de presença de sinal no processo de estimação, visando eliminar os ruídos a ela associados. O WBLS explora o fato da potência do sinal Wi-Fi variar com a localização e usa um HMM descrito em um grafo onde os nós representam as localizações e as arestas, as probabilidades de transição em função da topologia do ambiente e das velocidades esperadas de um pedestre portando um dispositivo móvel. Investiga-se em que situações a eliminação da informação sobre freqüência de presença de sinal devido a seus ruídos associados aumenta a exatidão da estimativa de localização, apesar do descarte da informação em si. Os experimentos realizados demonstram que a característica mais importante do WBLS é uma particular robustez ao lidar com desligamentos de pontos de acesso, os quais podem ocorrer sem nenhum aviso ou previsão em um ambiente onde pouco controle se tem sobre sua infra-estrutura.
The proliferation of mobile computing devices and wireless networks has fostered a growing interest in location-based systems and services for Portable Wireless Devices, specially in indoor environments. The location of a handheld device is a critical parameter in context-aware applications, which require high degree of accuracy of location estimation. However, designing and developing indoor location systems with increasing estimation accuracy and decreasing cost installation is a challenging problem. A very interesting approach to reach low-cost requirements consists in using the pre-existing IEEE 802.11 wireless local area network (WLAN) infrastructure that is already installed in many places. Most of the WLAN indoor location approaches proposed in the literature are based on probabilistic techniques which show good performance and are becoming increasingly popular. Such approaches use a map of received signal strength information and signal presence frequency collected from multiple Wi-Fi access points at different physical locations in the environment. However, the signal presence frequency information can be very noisy due to the unpredictable nature of transmissions failures, which can be caused by several factors. This work proposes a new probabilistic-based Wi-Fi location system, WBLS (Wireless Based Location System), which doesn\'t take the signal presence frequency information into account in the estimation process, in an attempt to eliminate its associated noise. WBLS exploits the fact that Wi-Fi signal strength vary with location, and uses an HMM on a graph of location nodes whose transition probabilities are a function of the building\'s floor plan and expected speeds of a pedestrian holding a portable device. We investigate if eliminating signal presence frequency information due to its associated noise increases the accuracy of the location estimation, despite the amount of information about the signal presence that is discarded. Experiments show that the most important feature of WBLS is a particular robustness while dealing with access points shutdowns that may happen without any warning in an environment where there is little control over the infrastructure.

Advances in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the drastic growth of the Internet over the past decade have considerably changed the environment for end users of computer systems. Therefore, it is important to review how user satisfaction is measured with information systems, especially in a web-based environment. User satisfaction has become one of the most important measures of the success or effectiveness of information systems; however, there is a need of better understanding of its structure and dimensionality in the web environment. The objective of this research was to develop and validate an instrument for measuring user satisfaction in a web-based environment. In this research, three commercial websites were taken as representatives of Web-Based Information Systems (WBIS) for e-services. This study involved testing the validity and reliability of the end-user satisfaction over a set of heuristics, based on responses from users of three e-service websites. This thesis explores not only the role of user satisfaction but also the role of aesthetics and other factors, which play a significant role in service oriented websites. In the past, satisfaction was thought to originate from the effectiveness and efficiency of a product and less from its aesthetic qualities. This theory is beginning to change as numerous studies have indicated the importance of visual aesthetics in web design. In service interfaces, aesthetics (the perceived visual appeal and appropriateness of an object) has shown to correlate positively with many aspects of usability and emotional satisfaction.

В роботі розглянуто теоретичні і методичні основи, щодо розроблення проекту підприємства агропромислової галузі. Розглянуто питання формування проекту підприємства як одного із суттєвих компонентів вдосконалення економічної діяльності підприємства і реалізації в сучасних умовах господарювання. На основі аналітичних даних щодо діяльності досліджуваного підприємства запропоновано відкриття тваринного комплексу як стратегію його розвитку. У першому розділі представлені теоретичні основи та наукові підходи проекту для розвитку підприємства на основі врахування факторів, які впливають на перспективи розвитку компанії. У другому розділі здійснено аналіз поточного стану агропромислового підприємства на основі кількісних та якісних показників його функціонування. А також вплив внутрішнього та зовнішнього середовища, У третьому розділі на основі досліджених науково-теоретичних підходів до формування проекту розвитку підприємства та здійсненого аналізу поточного стану агропромислового підприємства, його внутрішнього та зовнішнього середовища розроблено бізнес-план проекту компанії, за допомогою якого підприємство знизить рівень залежності сезонної дохідності Спираючись на отримані результати, сформовано комплекс практичних пропозицій щодо розробки та реалізації проекту розвитку досліджуваного підприємства.
В работе рассмотрены теоретические и методические основы разработки проекта предприятия агропромышленной отрасли. Рассмотрены вопросы формирования проекта предприятия как одного из существенных компонентов усовершенствования экономической деятельности предприятия и реализации в современных условиях хозяйствования. На основе аналитических данных о деятельности исследуемого предприятия предложено открытие животного комплекса как стратегию его развития. В первой главе представлены теоретические основы и научные подходы проекта для развития предприятия на основе учета факторов, влияющих на перспективы развития компании. Во второй главе проведен анализ текущего состояния агропромышленного предприятия на основе количественных и качественных показателей его функционирования. А также влияние внутренней и внешней среды, В третьем разделе на основе исследованных научно-теоретических подходов к формированию проекта развития предприятия и анализа текущего состояния агропромышленного предприятия, его внутренней и внешней среды разработан бизнес-план проекта компании, с помощью которого предприятие снизит уровень зависимости сезонной доходности. Опираясь на полученные результаты, сформирован комплекс практических предложений по разработке и реализации проекта развития изучаемого предприятия.
The theoretical and methodical bases concerning development of the project of the enterprise of agro-industrial branch are considered in the work. The issue of forming the project of the enterprise as one of the essential components of improvement of economic activity of the enterprise and realization in modern conditions of managing is considered. On the basis of analytical data on the activities of the studied enterprise, the opening of the animal complex as a strategy for its development is proposed. The first section presents the theoretical foundations and scientific approaches of the project for enterprise development based on factors that affect the prospects of the company. The second section analyzes the current state of the agro-industrial enterprise on the basis of quantitative and qualitative indicators of its operation. As well as the impact of internal and external environment, In the third section, based on the researched scientific and theoretical approaches to the formation of the enterprise development project and the analysis of the current state of the agro-industrial enterprise, its internal and external environment, the company's business plan is developed. Based on the obtained results, a set of practical proposals for the development and implementation of the project of development of the researched enterprise has been formed.

Дипломний проект розроблявся за допомогою наступних технічних засобів як PHP, TypeScript, MySQL, GoJS, Angular, Docker, Laravel.

AbstractWhole-body hyperthermia (WBH), induced by passive heating, and active fever therapy induced by pyrogenic drugs, have been accepted as therapy of various diseases for many decades. However, the introduction of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs caused the interest in this traditional therapy to decline. The development of modern WBH using infrared irradiation (IR) started in the 1960s.Three levels of hyperthermia differ fundamentally in practical implementation, mechanisms of action, and indications. Mild WBH is stress-free and aims mainly to muscle relaxation and increased perfusion in the locomotor system. Fever-range whole-body hyperthermia (FRWBH) requires a more extensive nursing care due to major thermoregulatory stress. FRWBH is applied for stimulation of anti-tumor immune responses and for anti-inflammatory effects in case of chronic inflammation. Moreover, anti-depressive effects of FRWBH could recently be shown. Extreme WBH needs an intensive care environment and aims to the direct damage of cancer cells or therapy-resistant pathogens. In general, inconsistent effects of WBH on blood perfusion must be taken into account if combined with medication.Two commercially available medical WBH devices both use water-filtered infrared-A (wIRA), but deviate in the practical implementation. Contraindications and the risk of side effects differ essentially between the three levels and must carefully be observed.

AbstractNew effective therapies for managing and treating psychiatric disorders such as major depression are urgently needed. Mood-enhancing effects have repeatedly been observed after whole-body hyperthermia (WBH) treatment in other medical disciplines, and there is promising evidence that WBH may be used in psychiatry for patients suffering from depressive disorders. Most importantly, a recent study demonstrated a significant, rapid, and partially lasting reduction of depressive symptoms in patients with major depressive disorder following a single session of water-filtered infrared-A induced whole-body hyperthermia (wIRA-WBH). Underlying mechanisms of actions may include immune modulation and serotonergic neurotransmission via warm-sensitive afferent thermosensory pathways to the midbrain.Current studies are focused on verifying these earlier findings and clarifying the mechanisms involved. Herein, we report on the establishment of WBH methodology in the psychiatry setting and provide our opinions on necessary future research.

In the frame of the European Water Framework Directive (WFD, 2000/60/EC), a macroalgae based index (CARLIT) was applied along the Sicilian coastal water bodies (WBs) in order to assess for the first time their ecological status and collect accurate information on the distribution and abundance of shallow-water communities, especially of those most sensitive. The ecological quality ratio values, sensu WFD, showed “high”/“good” levels in all WBs with lushy forests of Cystoseira amentacea except two with “moderate” level due to the presence of stress-tolerant species related to local factors.

AbstractMost commonly infectious processes in children involve the peripheral skeleton, lungs, kidneys, brain, and heart. Pediatric infections are usually of viral and bacterial origins. Fungal etiology can be found, mainly in children with immunodeficiency. Neonates also have immature immunity and are prone to infections with a less favorable prognosis. Conventional techniques used to evaluate infectious and inflammatory processes in children provide high-resolution images but are limited since only insignificant findings are seen in early disease stages and the differential diagnosis with coexisting pathologies and/or post-treatment changes is challenging. Nuclear Medicine procedures play an important role in diagnosing and monitoring pediatric infections, and inflammatory and granulomatous diseases. Several SPECT radiotracers used in the past for functional imaging of infection and inflammatory processes, such as 67Gallium citrate and 111In-labelled WBCs are not being used anymore routinely in pediatric patients and only rarely in adults, mainly in centers with limited or no access to 99mTc-labelled leukocytes (WBCs) and PET imaging. The value of Nuclear Medicine tests has increased with the implementation of hybrid SPECT/CT, PET/CT, and PET/MRI imaging.

Resumen
Noninvasive quantification of blood flow velocity in retinal macular capillaries is possible now by using the blue field simulation technique (BFST).1 The technique is based on the blue field entoptic phenomenon, which allows the observation of one's own leukocytes (white blood cells, WBCs) moving in retinal capillaries. To measure the velocity of these WBCs, a precisely controlled computer generated replica of the phenomenon is presented on a color graphics monitor. The subject is asked to adjust the number and velocity of the simulated WBCs to match those of the entoptically perceived WBCs.

The motivation for this work has been the observation by the majority of subjects who were asked to observe the motion of their own leukocytes (WBCs) in retinal macular capillaries by means of the blue field entoptic phenomenon that these WBCs move more swiftly or in greater number for a few seconds after the diffuse blue light illumination had been flickered for a short period of time. This finding is important because it suggests a possible coupling between local retinal activity induced by flicker and local blood flow. Consequently, we have attempted to quantitate this effect using the blue field simulation technique (BFST). In this paper, we report on the following aspects: (i) the effect of the duration of the diffuse luminance flicker on the motion of the WBCs; (ii) the motion of WBCs after cessation of the flicker stimulus; and (iii) the effect of the frequency of the flicker stimulus on the WBCs motion.

Abstract Aqueous fluids also refer as water-based drilling muds (WBMs) have considered as the most favorable WBMs, owing to their inherent advantages such as economically viability and environmentally benign characteristics. The major problems WBMs encountered is thinning of drilling fluids while drilling under high pressure high temperature. The detrimental rheological properties of WBMs under HPHT result into pipe sticking, low rate of penetration of the drill bit and requirement of high torque for drilling operations. The hydrophilic clays have been employed as viscosifiers in WBMs to maintain the rheological properties, albeit, their viscosifying characteristics have hindered in the presence of ionic species in the aqueous system at high temperature. These shortcomings can be tackled by developing an additive that can exhibit neutral surface changes and ability to undergo gelation at higher temperature. We have developed an additive functionalized with polar groups on anisotropic nano-platelets (LMS) through sol-gel technique. Spectroscopic and crystallographic characterization of LMS have proved the formation of layered structures with covalently linked polar functionalities. The viscoelastic studies were conducted on aqueous dispersion of these nano-platelets at different temperature, which revealed an unprecedented phenomenon -increase in gel strength at higher temperature, a key property required for ideal WBMs. LMS nano-platelet has shown formation of network structure in aqueous medium to boost storage modulus of the fluid. This additive can overcome the demerits associated with natural hydrophilic layered silicates and improve the rheological properties under challenging well conditions.

Abstract Wellbore stability (WBS) problems causes excessive lost times and cost during drilling. Drilling 10 development wells in an offshore high pressure high temperature (HPHT) gas field showed different non-productive time (NPT) values due to different severity of WBS issues such as kick flows, lost circulation, tight holes, stuck pipes which are responsible for repeated reaming, fishing and sidetracking. To reveal the reasons for the different severity of WBS problems in the studied wells and enhance future drilling, this work focused its investigation on the geomechanical modeling and WBS analysis. The results of the constructed geomechanical model show that well trajectory parameters of azimuth and inclination angle have crucial effects on the safe mud weight window and the consequent WBS problems. The stable mud weight window decreases as the borehole deviation increases, the maximum allowable inclination angle was determined as 50 degrees; otherwise, severe WBS issues are expected during drilling. The well azimuth showed to have trivial effect on the breakout mud weight, whereas the breakdown mud weight is significantly greater in wells drilled in the direction of minimum horizontal stress (NW-SE). Therefore, as safe mud weight windows are broader in wells with NW-SE, it is expected that such wells have greater wellbore stability than wells drilled in other directions. Therefore, the different extent of the actual field WBS issues in the studied wells was attributed to their well trajectories, in accordance with the WBS analysis. Optimization of wellbore trajectory parameters while taking into account reservoir targets are recommended for future drilling in HPHT fields. This would contribute to reducing WBS problems and NPT for subsequent drilling jobs and finally contribute to more efficient drilling operations.
