Resumen
The Sumba tribe is a local community that inhabits Sumba Island, one of which is in Central Sumba Regency. The majority of the people of the Sumba Tribe still have close interactions with nature, one of which is still using plants used for traditional medicine. This traditional medicine has been carried out for a long time and has become a tradition passed down from generation to generation in the customs of the Sumba people. This study aims to determine the diversity of plant species used for medicine by the Sumbanese people and to determine the Use Value Species (UVS) and the Cultural Significance Index (ICS) of medicinal plants in Central Sumba Regency. This study used the snowball sampling method by conducting open-ended interviews. The results of this study have found a diversity of plants that have potential as medicine. It is known that there are 116 species of medicinal plants used by the people of the Sumba tribe for treatment. Medicinal plants can be found in the yard of the house. Based on the analysis of UVS calculations, it was found that the species with the highest use value, Sambiloto (A. paniculata Ness) had the highest UVS value (5.60), while for the ICS analysis, Papaya (C. papaya L.) had the highest ICS value (850).

Resumen
Natural dyes are extracted from plants (such as leaves, flowers, and seeds), animals, and minerals. The purpose of this study was to explore the characteristics of the community of tie weavers by the Dayak Iban tribe in Kelayam, to collect data on plant species as natural dyes for Ikat weaving, to explore community knowledge in the process of natural dyes for ikat weaving. The research was conducted using the survey method with data collection techniques by observation and interviews. (observation) directly in the field. Weaving has a function as a means of introduction and kinship. The use of plants as natural dyes has long been carried out by the Dayak Iban people who live in Kelayam Hamlet. Most of the plants used are obtained from the forest where they live. There are seven types of plants used for the manufacture of natural dyes by the Dayak Iban tribe in the Kelayam Hamlet, such as Engkerebai (Srylocoryne spp), jangau (Aporosa lunata), mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia), mengkudu kayu (Tarenna fragrans), rengat padi (Indigofera arrecta), tebelian (Euslderoxylon zwageri), tengkawang (Shorea macrophylla).Keyword: Dayak Iban Trible, Natural Dye.AbstrakPewarna alami merupakan zat warna yang berasal dari ekstraksi tumbuhan (seperti bagian daun, bunga, biji), hewan dan mineral. Limitations in trial design, accrual, and data reporting impact efficient and reliable drug evaluation in cancer clinical trials. These concerns have been recognized in neuro-oncology but have not been comprehensively evaluated. We conducted a semi- automated survey of adult interventional neuro-oncology trials, examining design, interventions, outcomes, and data availability trends. Trials were selected programmatically from ClinicalTrials.gov using primary malignant CNS tumour classification terms. Regression analyses assessed design and accrual trends; effect size analysis utilized survival rates among trials investigating survival.

Resumen
Contemporary events frequently call into question the status of state-recognized Native nations. For example, the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) failed to pass a resolution dissolving state-recognized membership; and the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has reported on the reality of federal funding being awarded to non-federally recognized Native nations. Although state-recognized Native nations are handicapped in their strategies and the availability of resources to assert their right to self-determine, some have persevered despite the inability to establish a direct relationship with the national government. Reconsidering federalism as it pertains to Native nations reveals opportunities for non-federally recognized Native nations to access resources and assert self-governing authority in alternative arenas outside the exclusive tribal-national government-to-government relationship. My research analyzes how two state-recognized Native nations, the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and the Waccamaw Indian People of South Carolina, have operated as political actors; have maintained their communities; have organized politically and socially; and have asserted their right to self-determine by engaging state—and at certain times federal—politics to address needs within their communities. I used a qualitative case study approach to examine the strategies these two state-recognized Native nations have developed to engage state relationships. I argue that state-recognized Native nations are developing significant political relationships with their home states and other entities, such as federal, state, and local agencies, and nonprofits, to address issues in their communities.

Resumen
Louise Erdrich's novel Love Medicine presents a variety of voices that depict thetruths of Chippewa life and how they as a group are victims of a society that authorizesoppression and domination. Studies show that Chippewa tribes have a close connectionto nature and with each other as people. Ecofeminist critics draw analogies between theexploitation of nature and the oppression of groups such as those based on race, class, and sexuality, which results in a distortion of Native people's identity and connection tonature. Since the characters and nature are both oppressed and exploited by the U.Sgovernment, it becomes relevant to draw parallels between Erdrich's characters andnature with ecofeminism. The analysis concludes that ecofeminism can be applied toErdrich's novel because they share some values such as the importance of striving forinterconnection between humans and nature to free both from the power structure. TheChippewa characters and the U.S government can be identified in ecofeminist discourseas a set of dualisms. However, there are also some differences between ecofeminismand the way in which Erdrich depicts her Chippewa characters and nature. Erdrich’sstory shows that both female and male characters of Chippewa origin possess a sacredrelationship to Mother Earth, not only women, as ecofeminists would suggest.

Resumen
AbstractVisitors to the village of Tumbang Anoi, which lies upstream of the Kahayan River in the Gunung Mas Regency of Central Kalimantan, may not realize that it was the site of a groundbreaking historical event that significantly changed the life of the people of the Dayak tribe. Yet the event that took place over three long months in 1894 in this very village had done precisely that. What is now often referred to as the Tumbang Anoi Peaceful Meeting was attended by representatives of all the Dayak tribes in Kalimantan to discuss issues of Dayak customary law and possible solutions to disputes, producing a historically significant document called the Treaty of Tumbang Anoi. The meeting involved the colonial government of the Dutch East Indies and all Dayak tribes in Kalimantan. The figures involved at that time were the Dutch controlleur of Dayak Lands and other representatives from the Dutch East Indies colonial government. The Dayak tribes were represented by the central figure, the Damang Batu, or Damang Ribu, who facilitated the Peace Meeting. This event marks the beginning of the establishment of a new legal order that generally affected the Dayak tribal community. It also brought about a number of social changes among the Dayak people.

Resumen
Lodhas are marginalized scheduled tribe groups in West Bengal, India. They were labeled as criminal tribes until the revocation of the Criminal Tribes’ Act of 1952. Lodha is an Indo-Aryan language, spoken by Lodhas in some villages in West Bengal, India. This paper has four objectives. First, this paper discusses the effect of dominant languages. Here we attempt to study the impact of Bangla on the Lodha language. This paper discusses the language attitude of Loedha community. To develop their economy, these communities attempt to interact with the non-tribal Indo-Aryan populations and thus attempt to forget their own language. The paper then discusses in detail the Lodha language attitude, thus landscaping the present condition of Lodha. We then discuss the socio-economic condition of Lodha, and how this condition creates a barrier for these people. Finally, this paper aims to assess the nature and degree of language endangerment of Lodha based on UNESCO’s Language Vitality and Endangerment framework.

Resumen
Fatigue during repetitive tasks in the workplace has been intrinsically connected with occupational risk and a reduction in productivity. Currently, the measures taken are based on subjective interpretations of fatigue by the workers or on direct muscular activity, which then make up for a cumulative evaluation of fatigue. The concept of “Industry 4.0” wearable devices would allow a continuous monitoring and thus, a more realistic representation of their fatigue levels.Aim: To quantify heart rate variability, measuring cardiovascular responsiveness, during repetitive work when fatigue is present. Tasks: A protocol was developed to simulate a real-life workplace scenario with a set of low-intensity repetitive tasks that are commonly practiced. The signals obtained were then processed, and heart rate variability was calculated using fractal analysis and time domain variables. Hypothesis: It was hypothesized that 1) the amount of variability and 2) the structure of variability will change during repetitive work in the presence of fatigue.Methodology: Participants were asked to perform three 10-minute trials of a repetitive task. Between each trial, a muscular fatigue protocol was carried out, targeting the main agonist muscle. An ECG was collected during the trials (Baseline, Fatigue 1, and Fatigue 2) through a wearable band placed on the level of the xiphoid appendix. Results: The nonlinearity of the heart rate variability showed no statistically significant changes, unlike the time domain measures that significantly differentiated the baseline trial from the fatigue trials, namely the Standard Deviation of NN intervals, the Root Mean Square of successive RR interval differences, Coefficient of Variation, and Heart Rate itself. Conclusions: These results are enthusiastic for applying algorithms that use heart rate variability to quantify cardiovascular responsiveness to fatigue during repetitive work. They show that with information in the time domain, it is possible to verify physiological changes that the worker is undergoing. Additionally, these changes are also related to the amount of variability and not to the fractal structure of heart rate variability.

Resumen
Scandinavian countries, in particular northern Scandinavia, have developed unique sociolinguistic frameworks which aim to preserve local indigenous languages. These models have acted to protect the cultural heritages of these ethnicities. As such, these models of preservation have offered a framework to be applied to other contexts, and hence in regions where language and cultural preservation and revitalization have become a salient factor. This current study presents an evaluation of the Norwegian State Action Plan for the preservation of indigenous languages in the region of tribal northern Scandinavia. The study produces the several recommendations as a comparative framework between northern Scandinavia and ASEAN countries. With respect to education, the study suggests establishing kindergartens for tribal children led by tribal communities, developing teacher training programs for indigenous instructors, developing educational materials and curricular guides in the local languages, establishing networks of distance learning, arranging language and cultural learning summer camps for tribal children and youth, and mapping mother tongue illiteracy among adults so as to assist in the action planning of these projects. With respect to the daily use of languages, the study suggests a development of interpreter training programs, the implementation procedures for translation of official documents, the development of minority language proficiency in the health services and judicial system, incorporating indigenous language in digital technologies and likewise promoting digital literacy, developing dictionaries for minority languages, and instigating the promotion of place names in local languages. The study employs a literature analysis, and a comparison of contexts, to determine the appropriation and effectiveness of the application of the Scandinavian preservation system to ASEAN. The study contributes to thought in Linguistic Anthropology, in that it suggests that, despite the uniqueness of sociolinguistic practices, preservation methods and government mandates may, at least in part, offer transferability.

Resumen
When Taiwan moved towards an aging society, there are very rich studies for the elderly in academic. The past, many studies focus on physical function decline, but less study focused on the age influence on hand function learning effect. The purpose of this study is use of a learning curve model to explore the difference between elder and youth in the handedness dexterity. Twenty youth and 20 elder were recruited. A Purdue pegboard was used to measure the dominant hand dexterity for 15 times, and a 20-second rest was given between successive trials. A learning curve in power function was modeled for each participant, and the associated theoretical time to complete the first trial () and learning rate () were calculated. The ANOVA result indicated that the learning rate between youth and elder was not significantly different, but elder had significantly longer . That is, for pure motor skill, degeneration in hand dexterity due to aging only slows the moving speed, but does not shift the learning rate. Therefore, to reach a present industrial standard elder need more practice, otherwise, we should reduce the standard to match the physical capabilities of elders.

These censuses include lists of landowners, tribute payers and people exempted from tribute, providing valuable information about the dynamic of the population, the financial state of the inhabitants, the types of work in which people were engaged at that time or prior to that period, the ethnic and religious affiliation of the people included in the censuses, their kinship, marital status and the like. Moreover, the censuses provide significant information regarding the anthroponomastics of the area, as they mark a major moment in the formation of the system of Romanian personal names, that is, the introduction on a large scale of a second name (which accompanied people’s first name). The ethnic connections illustrated by these documents can be noticed in the presence of ethnonyms, some of which became anthroponyms (Cazacu, Grecu, Leahu, Rusu, Turcu), as well as in the presence of foreign names specific to certain ethnic groups (Gorovei, Melniciuc, Clim, Clucenschi, etc.).

Resumen
The prevalence of student response systems (hereafter SRS) in higher education has grown significantly in the last few years. Student classroom participation and student’s assessment of performance particularly in larger classes, has often been regarded as problematic in pedagogical research (Black and Wiliam, 1998; Fies and Marshall, 2006). Growth in technology, coupled with popularity of handheld devices has led to the development in SRS with the intention of increasing classroom participation and engaging students in the lecture setting (Denker, 2013). Studies identify benefits to students participating in the classroom using SRS including increased student involvement, attendance, learning and engagement (Heaslip et al., 2014; Van Daele et al., 2017). This research seeks to examine the effects of a SRS on student participation and engagement in large undergraduate economics modules at both an Irish and UK university during the academic year of 2018/19. We compare a control period (no SRS in place) with a trial period (SRS in place). The results show that the use of the SRS significantly increased student’s interaction with the lecturer and their ability to perform self-assessment in absolute terms and relative to their peers.

Resumen
Championship occupied a significant space among Arab poets in the pre-Islamic era, and the literary and historical eras that followed, and perhaps this is due to the fact that the harsh, Bedouin life, full of conflicts, invasions, and wars between Arab tribes required that each tribe have knights, heroes, They defend it, secure its existence, and even impose its dominance, control, and power over other tribes. Among these heroes were poets such as Duraid bin Al-Summa, Amer bin Al-Tufail, Amr bin Maadikarb, Antara bin Shaddad Al-Absi, and many others. The motives for this tournament were multiple, they may be social, economic, personal or otherwise, and all of the previous motives may meet; to motivate someone; To be a hero in his tribe. Since the conflicts and wars between people, individuals, and societies do not end, and heroism is a necessity in life; To ensure the existence of this or that society in a world that only recognizes the right of the powerful, I thought that I should address this topic in this study, and limit it to the features of the individual hero in the poetry of Antara bin Shaddad; Because his heroism, in my opinion, has two main reasons: his tenderness and his love for Abla; And because he became an example of heroism and courage, his heroism shaped the image of the individual, the hero, the model in Arab thought and culture. The research aims to memorize the features of this heroism in a contemporary reading, and the importance of the research is reflected in its goal and the personality that it studies. The researcher will follow the methods of description, analysis, and induction; To achieve the purpose of writing it

Resumen
Ireland’s National Strategy on Education for Sustainable Development (2014-2020), highlights the need to equip students with “the relevant knowledge (the ‘what’), the key dispositions and skills (the ‘how’) and the values (the ‘why’)” to contribute to a more sustainable future (Department of Education and Skills, 2014). Delivering on this challenge requires embedding sustainability within both the formal and informal learning that occurs on campus (Hopkinson et al. 2008), while also integrating sustainability both within and across disciplines (Byrne et al., 2018). UCC is a global leader in sustainability in higher education, being the first University in the world to be awarded a Green Flag from the Foundation for Environmental Education (Reidy et al, 2015). Sustainability at UCC is “student-led, research-informed, and practice-focused” that is, the programme takes an integrated approach and aims to utilise the collective student agency and research capability to deliver real and lasting change on the ground (Pelenc et al. 2015). UCC’s Academic Strategy, with sustainability and interdisciplinarity as key components of the new “Connected Curriculum”, aims to “facilitate students to develop values, skills and aptitudes that promote civic participation, social inclusion, sustainability, digital fluency and impactful, global citizenship” (UCC, 2018). A key aim of delivering its Sustainability Strategy is that UCC would become a “Living Laboratory”, where students, academics and practitioners work together, using the campus itself as a testbed for solutions to today’s major societal challenges (UCC, 2016). A Living Laboratory project should aim to: • Solve a real-life problem • Be based on a partnership among key stakeholders, often crossing disciplinary and/or sectoral boundaries • Trial and test ideas in real life settings • Share data and findings generated openly (EAUC, 2017).

Resumen
Objective Provide a timely, rigorous and continuously updated summary of the evidence on the role of remdesivir in the treatment of patients with COVID-19. Methods Eligible studies were randomized trials evaluating the effect of remdesivir versus placebo or no treatment. We conducted searches in the special L·OVE (Living OVerview of Evidence) platform for COVID-19, a system that performs regular searches in databases, trial registries, preprint servers and websites relevant to COVID-19. All the searches covered the period until 25 August 2020. No date or language restrictions were applied. Two reviewers independently evaluated potentially eligible studies according to predefined selection criteria, and extracted data on study characteristics, methods, outcomes, and risk of bias, using a predesigned, standardized form. We performed meta-analyses using random-effect models and assessed overall certainty in evidence using the GRADE approach. A living, web-based version of this review will be openly available during the COVID-19 pandemic. Results Our search strategy yielded 574 references. Finally, we included three randomized trials evaluating remdesivir in addition to standard care versus standard care alone. The evidence is very uncertain about the effect of remdesivir on mortality (RR 0.7, 95% CI 0.46 to 1.05; very low certainty evidence) and the need for invasive mechanical ventilation (RR 0.69, 95% CI 0.39 to 1.24; very low certainty evidence). On the other hand, remdesivir likely results in a large increase in the incidence of adverse effects in patients with COVID-19 (RR 1.29, 95% CI 0.58 to 2.84; moderate certainty evidence). Conclusions The evidence is insufficient for the outcomes critical for making decisions on the role of remdesivir in the treatment of patients with COVID-19, so it is impossible to balance potential benefits, if there are any, with the adverse effects and costs. Resumen
This study examines the lived experiences of the Bharia people of Patalkot with regard to ecology, society, and the modern school. The research methodology, attempting to keep the agency of the Bharia at the centre, has helped to evolve knowledge that is at once embedded and questioning. At the interface of the tribal and the non-tribal existences, like the market and the modern school, there are undercurrents of exploitation, alienation and a sense of being undervalued. The thriving forests of Patalkot enhance socio-cultural and ecological relationships of tribal society and help rethink development in terms of ecological restoration and egalitarian relationships, both of which are in decline in the contemporary phase of capital through liberalisation, globalisation and privatisation.

Infante, Vittorio. Transforming the Systems that Contribute to Fragility and Humanitarian Crises: Programming across the triple nexus. Oxfam, julio de 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.21201/2021.7659.

Resumen
Conflicts and shocks linked to climate change are more frequent and intense, leading to poverty and inequality, exacerbating these phenomena and people’s vulnerability. In this context, humanitarian relief, development programmes and peacebuilding are not serial processes; they are all needed at the same time to tackle the systemic inequalities that trap people in poverty and expose them to risk. The triple nexus, or programming across humanitarian-development-peace pillars, thus means creating synergies and common goals across short-term emergency response programmes and longer-term social change processes in development, as well as enhancing opportunities for peace so that individuals can enjoy the full spectrum of human rights. This briefing paper aims to identify the tensions and dilemmas that Oxfam faces when programming across the nexus and sets out new policy to address these dilemmas, building upon Oxfam’s 2019 discussion paper on the triple nexus.
