Resumen
AbstractThe computer-based 3D models of the human body reported to date suffer from poor spatial resolution. The Visible Human project has delivered high resolution cross-sectional images that are suited for generation of high-quality models. Yet none of the 3D models described to date reflect the quality of the original images. We present a method of segmentation and visualization which provides a new quality of realism and detail. Using the example of a 3D model of the inner organs, we demonstrate that such models, especially when combined with a knowledge base, open new possibilities for scientific, educational, and clinical work.

Resumen
Humanity knows three ways to deal with waste: incineration, burial (landfills) and recycling. All the methods, except reuse and recycle, destroy nature and are dangerous for ecology and human health exactly. Each year Russians produce about 50 million tons solid waste, the most part of which goes to the landfills. National green projects are aimed to create visible eco-friendly system by awarding greenwashing projects with grants: landfills with sorting system, sorting centres without recycling facilities. Therefore, this study is aimed to discover recycling practices execute in Russia and suggest the project of gasification waste plant.

Resumen
A monkey phantom is of significant value for electromagnetic radiation (EMR) dosimetry simulations. Furthermore, phantoms in various postures are needed because living beings are exposed to EMR in various postures during their daily routine. In this study, we attempted to produce monkey phantoms based on three daily postures of a rhesus monkey. From our Visible Monkey project, we selected surface models with 177 monkey structures. In the surface models, 52 virtual joints were created to allow for changes from the anatomical position to quadrupedal and sitting positions using commercial software. The surface models of the three positions were converted into monkey voxel phantoms. These phantoms were arranged in three positions, and the number of voxels and mass of each structure were analyzed. The phantoms in anatomical, quadrupedal, and sitting positions have a total of 5,054,022, 5,174,453, and 4,803,886 voxels, respectively. The mass of 177 structures in three positions were also calculated based on the number of voxels. By comparing the monkey phantom with the phantom of a female human, we confirmed thicker skin, less fat, heavier muscle, and a lighter skeleton in monkeys than those in humans. Through posture-transformed monkey phantoms, more precise EMR simulations could be possible. The ultimate purpose of this study is to determine the effects of EMR on humans. For this purpose, we will create posture-transformed human phantoms in a following study using the techniques employed herein and the human phantoms from our previous study.

Resumen
Purpose This paper aims to introduce the term, knowledge harvesting, as an aid for researchers in comprehending what knowledge strategies influences projects, where to find knowledge, how to visualize knowledge, how to cultivate knowledge, who distributes project knowledge and how to gain former project knowledge. Design/methodology/approach The term knowledge harvesting emerged after having analyzed employees interviews at a Danish welding machine manufacturer using an adjusted grounded theory. Findings Employees’ knowledge harvesting strategies involve collecting knowledge, making knowledge visible in projects, introducing knowledge in projects, identifying knowledge deficiencies, cultivating knowledge to support projects and ensuring readily available historical knowledge termed para-knowledge. Practical implications To strengthen how significant and relevant knowledge harvesting can be, researchers need to apply knowledge harvesting as an explanation in their own research projects. Only then will knowledge harvesting becomes a solid explanation of what knowledge strategies employees apply and their implications for organization learning. Originality/value Knowledge harvesting introduces new understandings regarding employees’ knowledge acquisition processes during product development. Knowledge harvesting can help researchers to understand and identify how, why and what knowledge processes take place throughout product development.

Resumen
Visible Light Communication (VLC) using a Light Fidelity system, as proposed by a German physicist—Harald Haas, provides transmission of data through illumination by sending data through an LED light source that varies in intensity that can be controlled and adjusted such that it appears as normal light to the naked human eye. Here the property of persistence of vision of the human eye is exploited for additional application of a free, sustainable and green source that can be used for wireless communication at very fast data rates. This paper focuses on developing a low cost Li-Fi based system and analyses its performance with respect to existing wireless technology. Wi-Fi is great for general wireless coverage within buildings, whereas Li-Fi is ideal for high density wireless data coverage in confined area and for relieving radio interference issues. Li-Fi based system provides better bandwidth, efficiency, availability and security than Wi-Fi and has already achieved higher data rates. By leveraging the low-cost nature of LEDs and lighting units there are many opportunities to exploit this medium, from public internet access through day-to-day light sources which have their primary purpose of only emitting light. This project envisions a future where data for communication devices will be transmitted through the visible spectrum thus de-clogging the currently overused RF spectrum.

Resumen
The project manager is a person who works as an overall in-charge and plays a vital role in fulfilling the dream of a project, and is known as the omnicompetent. A project manager for any project must have the qualities to plan and implement the knowledge management in a systematic, join together, and reuses the decision based on the project and advances the diffusion and thus sharing the invisible knowledge. Knowledge management (KM) is vital for any company to survive in a competitive market and dynamic environment. The task of transferring knowledge is not an easy job thus it requires efforts to gather and transfer the knowledge in the projects. This paper includes all the responsibilities of the project manager should hold and those are time management, risk management, managing information, managing human resources, managing scope, purchasing orders management. A project manager must find out the performances of every responsibility and finding the knowledge which is not visible and making it into useful knowledge. Discussion with team members, sharing the knowledge, and concluding with the win-win condition between an individual and the whole organization.

Resumen
A large part of the existing literature on Open Source Software (OSS) projects identifies the motivation factors predicting the participation level of members. However, the effective satisfaction of developers toward their project still remains a managerial and theoretical challenge. So, it is also consistent to assess how the effective participation of developers in OSS projects makes sense of their own motivations. This article uses the enactivist approach and considers that motivations are not simple antecedents to actions but are shaped by actions as well. The empirical analysis delivers the results of a survey administrated to participants of business OSS projects. The results reveal reputation, reciprocity and expected professional opportunities as the most positively influenced variables. However, learning motivations and ideology toward open source beliefs and values are the lesser influenced ones. These results counterbalance prior empirical researches which have observed a strong predicting power of both variables on expected participation level of participants. This study suggests that participation seems to make sense regarding motivations for which developers have some visible indicators of their personal achievement.

Resumen
In this article the argument is that in order to find women who participate in the design of IT, it is not enough to analyze gendered divisions of labor in terms of professional belongings but also to analyze the practices behind the professional categories that are involved in IT design. The purpose of the article is to explore how actors in various ways were configured during an IT design project. The article is based on an IT design project, and the empirical material for the study was gathered through the use of ethnographic methods, and analyzed diffractively. This analysis showed that the boundaries between actors shifted, that the actors were placed in several different positions, and that what was done in practices did not always fit with the formal positions. The analysis made it possible to see that in this IT design project, women were important participants on which the whole project depended. If this project is representative also for other IT design projects, the problem of women as outsiders of IT design could be rephrased, and the problem is no longer that women are not included in IT design, but that their participation does not always become visible.

Abstract Contrary to earlier research on why universities change their visual identities from traditional to more abstract ones, resting on a demand-side approach, we offer an explanation based on a supply-side approach. We argue that universities’ change of visual identities toward abstract symbols reflects a professional logic shared by graphic designers and discuss the mechanisms and institutional agents that have fueled the professional project of graphic designers and the institutionalization of their professional logic. Simultaneously, we make visible the role of a professional group—the graphic designers—that have escaped the gaze of earlier organizational research.

Resumen
Digital model of human metabolic system incorporated with real anatomical structure can be seen as an important tool in order to understand and study the processes of metabolism. This paper presented a whole body digital model framework of [18F]2-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose (FDG) metabolism based on the segmented Visible Human Project (VHP) data set as the anatomical structure framework. First, the blood time-activity curve (BTAC) and the tissues time-activity curves (TTAC) were obtained from kinetic analysis. According to the obtained BTAC and TTACs, a set of corresponding values were assigned to the segmented VHP image frames. Thus a set of dynamic volume data were derived to show the 18F distribution in human body for the predetermined sampling schedule. Finally, the simulated FDG distribution was visualized by coronal, axial, and sagittal slices and volume rendering method. The model established here was especially for the metabolism of FDG; however, the modeling method is general for all tracers. The proposed model represented functional information of dynamical process of human metabolism with high visualization resolution. The results of modeling and visualization provide a useful tool for education and research on nuclear imaging, and may provide a novel technical platform for the study of pharmacokinetics.

Resumen
The Readers Project is an aesthetically oriented system of software entities designed to explore the culture of human reading. These entities, or “readers,” navigate texts according to specific reading strategies based upon linguistic feature analysis and real-time probability models harvested from search engines. As such, they function as autonomous text generators, writing machines that become visible within and beyond the typographic dimension of the texts on which they operate. Thus far the authors have deployed the system in a number of interactive art installations at which audience members can view the aggregate behavior of the readers on a large screen display and also subscribe, via mobile device, to individual reader outputs. As the structures on which these readers operate are culturally and aesthetically implicated, they shed critical light on a range of institutional practices - particularly those of reading and writing - and explore what it means to engage with the literary in digital media.

Resumen
The human rights are fundamental principle of the European Union law, which should be observed in adoption of legislative rules as well as in implementation practice. The EU had been initially founded as the economic cooperation project and an ambition to establish cooperation between its member states also in political agenda became more visible especially since the Lisbon Treaty, by which the position of EU in area of external relations was strengthened. The paper analyses position of the European Union when promoting and protecting human rights in external relations. As there exist several tools and mechanisms EU may use in implementation of human rights policy, we analyze the role of the EU in relation to the application of human rights in foreign policy as stated in Article 2 and Article 6 of the Treaty on European Union.

Resumen
In 1995 a new series of multi-disciplinary investigations were initiated by the authors into diachronic human occupation of the coastal plain at Altınova, between Ayvalık and Dikili on the Aegean coast of northwest Turkey (Fig. 1). Altınova lies approximately halfway between the much better-known (and certainly more intensively investigated) archaeological regions of Troy to the north and Bayraklı/Izmir to the south (Fig. 1). Through the plain flows the Madra Çay, and during the Holocene the river's depositional activity has created a large delta clearly visible on most maps as a projection outward into the Lesbos Channel (also known as the Mytilene/Midilli Strait), with the port of Mytilene and the marina of Thermi lying directly opposite (20 km. away) on the island of Lesbos (Fig. 1, Pl. XXII(a)). Altınova's iskele, located in a sand-spit which forms a natural marina, has developed into a modern holiday resort with 5 km. or more of holiday villas along its sandy beaches.

Resumen
Many human activities and cellular functions depend upon precise pH values, and pH monitoring is considered a fundamental task. Colorimetric and fluorescence sensors for pH measurements are chemical and biochemical tools able to sense protons and produce a visible signal. These pH sensors are gaining widespread attention as non-destructive tools, visible to the human eye, that are capable of a real-time and in-situ response. Optical “visual” sensors are expanding researchers’ interests in many chemical contexts and are routinely used for biological, environmental, and medical applications. In this review we provide an overview of trending colorimetric, fluorescent, or dual-mode responsive visual pH sensors. These sensors include molecular synthetic organic sensors, metal organic frameworks (MOF), engineered sensing nanomaterials, and bioengineered sensors. We review different typological chemical entities of visual pH sensors, three-dimensional structures, and signaling mechanisms for pH sensing and applications; developed in the past five years. The progression of this review from simple organic molecules to biological macromolecules seeks to benefit beginners and scientists embarking on a project of pH sensing development, who needs background information and a quick update on advances in the field. Lessons learned from these tools will aid pH determination projects and provide new ways of thinking for cell bioimaging or other cutting-edge in vivo applications.

Resumen
Although resistance to the incorporation of ‘gender’ in human rights law and policies is not new, since 2013 anti-gender campaigns have articulated as movements and increased their visibility. More recently, the transnational dimension of the anti-gender offensive has become visible as a challenge to human rights standards, including the anti-violence against women project, and a process of democratic erosion. In this column, I make a short overview of this social and political phenomenon and describe how these anti-gender campaigns have entered the human rights systems and their discourse has shifted from religious justifications towards legal ones. I conclude with general suggestions to strengthen the resilience of the human rights systems to these processes.
