Resumen
The objective of this work was to study the perception of teenagers for their own sexuality in the Tunisian socio-cultural context. One hundred teenagers participated in the study. They filled in an anonymous self-report questionnaire, consisting of 14 items relative to the aspects that seemed to us the most meaningful concerning teenage sexuality. Eighty-one percent of the participants did not manage to provide answers, in conformity with scientific data, to a minimum of 75% of the items. Fifty percent considered masturbation at adolescent age to be pathological. The possibility of a homosexual tendency during adolescence was rejected by 75%. Eighty-one percent perceived the subject of teenage sexuality as embarrassing. They were not permissive regarding the issue of sexual protected relations amongst adolescents in 44% of the cases, and regarding the interest that a female teenager could have in sexuality in 23% of the cases. Our study demonstrated a relatively high frequency of prejudice relating to teenage sexuality amongst the teenagers, reflecting the impact of the taboo on sexuality and particularly on the female teenager in the Tunisian socio-cultural context. The change in mentalities regarding teenagers’ sexuality should take place very smoothly.

Resumen
Teenage pregnancies are a global problem, the 2018 Riskesdas Data recorded 2,867 teenage pregnancies (10-19 years) and 15 of them were aged 10-14 years. BPS Indonesia reports that the average teenage births in 2018 were 36/1000 births and in Provinsi Jambi 46/1000 births (national target 18/1000 births). One effort to reduce this number is to provide education. Therefore, the Baiturrahim STIKes team carried out community service activities at the Posrem Droseros Danau Sipin, the working area of the Puskesmas Putri Ayu, Kota Jambi. Based on the initial survey, it is known that there were 30 teenage pregnancies (16-19 years) from 01-31 August 2022 which were possibly caused by the large number of teenagers dropping out of school; feeling bored with the online learning system during the co-19 pandemic. Other factors are: drug use/history of drug use; free sex/premarital sex; unwed pregnancy; the presence of HIV-infected adolescents; economic factors; Not all teenagers actively participate in education and other activities. The series of activities started from September 2022 to February 2023 at the Rumah Tenun Disperindag Kota J which was attended by 22 teenagers (1 pregnant teenager, 1 post-abortion teenager, 2 teenage mothers). This activity was also attended by 2 posyandu cadres for pregnant women and toddlers, as well as 3 health workers from Puskesmas Putri Ayu. Material delivered via power point for 50-60 minutes. Before and after education, pretest and posttest were carried out using the same questionnaire. The results obtained were an average increase in knowledge of 1.5 and attitude of 3.4 points after being given education about efforts to prevent pregnancy in adolescents.

Resumen
Aim The paper examines teenage alcohol use from an intergenerational perspective through an ethnographic case study of interaction between teenagers and adults. Methods Two periods of ethnographic fieldwork were conducted in a rural Danish community of approximately 6000 inhabitants. The fieldwork included 50 days of participant observation among 13–16-year-olds (n=93) as well as semi-structured interviews with small self-selected friendship groups. The present paper presents an analysis of field notes from a night of participant observation that is used as an emblematic example of informants' alcohol use and their interaction with adults. Theoretically, the paper adopts French philosopher Michel de Certeau's conceptual framework for understanding the practice of everyday life, in particular his distinction between strategic and tactical action. Results Two scenarios are described and taken to represent two different adult approaches to teenage drinking. In Scenario I, adults accept a group of teenagers' drinking in the home, and in Scenario II adults create an alcohol-free space which they guard against the intrusion of intoxicated teenagers. In both cases, however, adults use their intergenerational position in order to strategically contain teenage drinking. Meanwhile, teenagers act tactically by adjusting their alcohol use in time and space. Further, the use of alcohol marks a shift in the interaction between adults and teenagers in so far as it enables teenagers to create and control a place of their own and hence signal their independence from adults. Conclusion The paper points to the creative, tactical agency of teenagers in response to adult strategies. It is illustrated how teenage alcohol use becomes a transformative factor for adult–teenager relationships, and in particular how teenagers rework intergenerational power differences by taking on drinking.

Resumen
Introduction. One of the major public health issues across the whole world these days is teenage pregnancy which is defined as being pregnant in the age ranging from 13–19 years. About 11% of all births which occurred worldwide accounted for girls aged 15 to 19 years. From these, 95% teenage deliveries occur in low- and middle-income countries. World health 2014 statistics show that complications during pregnancy and childbirth are the second cause of death for 15–19-year-old girls globally. The aim of this study was to determine adverse obstetrical and perinatal outcomes of teenage pregnancy among deliveries at Lemlem Karl General Hospital, Tigray, Ethiopia, 2018. Result. This study result showed that 17.5% of the teenagers and 6.8% of the adults deliver low birth weight neonates. From the total teenage mothers, about thirty-five (11.3%) of them had developed pregnancy-induced hypertension, whereas about thirteen (4.2%) of adults develop pregnancy-induced hypertension. Regarding cesarean delivery, forty (12.9%) of those teenage mothers deliver by a cesarean section while 58 (18%) of the adult mothers deliver by cesarean delivery. Teenage pregnancy was significantly associated with adverse obstetric and perinatal outcomes, a cesarean delivery (AOR: 0.57; 95% CI, 0.36–0.90), episiotomy (AOR: 2.01; 95% CI, 1.25–3.39), and low birth weight (AOR: 2.22; 95% CI, 1.13–4.36), and premature delivery were 2.87 (1.49–5.52). This study shows that adverse obstetric and perinatal outcomes were significantly associated with teenagers than adult mothers. Therefore, giving health education on focused ANC is very important to bring change to the teenager at this study area.

Resumen
The social stigma of cancer is a powerful source of stereotyping and prejudice against people affected by oncological disorders. Two cross-sectional studies attempted to (1) provide a formal and content characteristic of the stereotype of teenage cancer patient and (2) analyze explicit and implicit prejudice against them. In the first study, 2,370 middle school students proposed open-ended descriptions and quantified 50 attributes representing physical appearance, cognitive, task-oriented, social, and emotional functioning of the teenage cancer patient. In the second study, 207 undergraduate students of education completed the Implicit Association Test, which contrasted the teenage cancer patient with a teenager as a reference category. Content analysis of 11,191 open-ended descriptions and exploratory factor analysis of 50 attributes showed that teenage cancer patients were characterized in the emotional, social, and physical appearance domain. The IAT revealed that teenagers with cancer automatically induced moderate negative prejudice not linked with similarly negative explicit prejudice. Negative explicit and implicit prejudice suggests that teenagers with cancer may be omitted or disfavored by classmates and teachers, therefore they require special treatment in school and out-of-school environments. The findings and their practical implications were discussed in light of theories of stigmatization, stereotyping, and prejudice against cancer patients.

Resumen
In this thesis, ipek Ongun&rsquo
s three books on good manners and etiquette, which especially aim at teenage girls, are analyzed in detail. Born in 1943, Ongun is a popular Turkish writer in teenage literature who has sold over a million books since 1980s. It is necessary to investigate especially the cultural, social and aesthetic messages given in her books. The writer&rsquo
s non-fiction trilogy has been extremely influential on teenage girls in Turkey in the 1990s, and they still are. These are Bir Piriltidir YaSamak (Living Is a Glitter, 1991), Bu Hayat Sizin (This Life Is Yours, 1993), and Lü
tfen Beni Anla (Please Understand Me, 1995). The themes of major importance in the trilogy are social life, traditions, schools, parenting, beauty, and personal care. This study examines the content of this trilogy from a critical perspective, especially raising questions regarding Ongun&rsquo
s messages leading the construction of female identities from a feminist viewpoint. The qualitative research method has been adopted for the analysis and several comparisons have been carried out between Ongun&rsquo
s books and certain popular teenage etiquette books published in the US. The study concludes that although some of Ongun&rsquo
s messages might be found beneficial for certain segments of the teenage population, the fact that she is not an expert in teenage psychology and development, poses several critical questions about the validity of her messages. Besides, Ongun&rsquo
s target audience seems to be the upper-middle classes of the society also raises questions regarding the universality of her messages.

Resumen
In a book on preventing early pregnancy and poor reproductive outcomes in developing countries, the World Health Organisation (2011) declares that ‘adolescent pregnancy’ contributes to maternal, perinatal and infant mortality, and to a vicious cycle of poverty and ill-health. This statement reflects the common public assumption that ‘teenage pregnancy’ represents an individual, social, health, educational and financial risk that requires remediation. This kind of public perception is spurred by media coverage in which young girls with large protruding stomachs are etched in profile and stories of calamity are told (e.g. Time (21 June 2005) magazine). And yet the very notion of 'teenage pregnancy' is a relatively recent one. Depending on the country one talks about, it has been around since between the 1960s and 1980s. In the United States, for example, the rise of ‘teenage pregnancy’ as a social problem was associated with a shift in gendered power relations. Prior to the late 1960s the morally loaded concepts of 'unwed mother' and 'illegitimate child' were used to describe young women who conceived. For the most part, young pregnant women were excluded from society, with the accompanying shame around the lack of proper conjugal arrangements. The use of the term 'teenage pregnancy' removed the implied moral judgment and replaced it with seeming scientific neutrality. Young pregnant women now became publicly visible and thus the object of scientific scrutiny (Arney & Bergen, 1984).

Resumen
This practice-led PhD consists of two parts: Part One is the creative element, the YA novel Eden Summer; Part Two is the contextualising thesis. Eden Summer uses the search for a missing teenage girl to explore themes of female friendship, grief and resilience. The contextualising exegesis examines the process of writing creatively for young adults in this historical moment, exploring what characteristics might define YA literature, and how they affect the process of writing it. The thesis also takes the opportunity to examine some of the discursive activities connected with publication that can be viewed as constituting the creation of the YA author. The introduction establishes the study’s focus on the intersection between CW and YA. Chapter 1.1 interrogates CW theory, placing it in a historical context, while the second part provides an overview and analysis of the contemporary YA literary landscape in which Eden Summer is situated. Chapter 2 introduces the creative methodology for this study, drawing on and extending existing methodologies, and relates it to the work with evidence from the creative journal (extracts from which are supplied in the appendix), blog interviews and manuscript, before going on to analyse the main structural and thematic elements of the work, including experimental first stages, chronology, landscape and literary inheritance. Chapter 3 examines the definitions of YA fiction through this particular process of writing it, including a discussion of the assumptions and limitations of this new theoretical framework. Finally, chapter 3.2 draws on narrative and discursive theory to examine the construction of the YA author. The conclusion tests the significance of these findings in the light of the original aims of the project, its extension of and contribution to current theorisation of the creative writing process and the relationship between critical and creative work. This thesis demonstrates the complex ways in which the defining characteristics of YA literature shape the writing of it at all stages. Ultimately, the process of becoming the YA author is shown to be aligned with the condition of young adulthood itself.

Resumen
The purpose of this study was twofold. Firstly, it was undertaken to establish whether teenage mothers were motivated to re-engage with education postpregnancy. Secondly, to consider whether Educational Psychologists could support the long-term educational outcomes of teenage mothers. Five teenage mothers between the ages of 16-19 were interviewed using semi-structured interviews, to explore this further: a) What are the views of teenage mothers living within an outer London Borough about their individual educational experiences? b) What similarities and differences are there between their avowed identity and ascribed identity? c) What are their future aspirations? d) Where is the teenage mother situated in structural society? The researcher employed Foucauldian Discourse Analysis to analyse discourse from the participants and discourses within the wider discursive field. This study explored how Educational Psychologists could practice psychology to support teenage mothers in re-engaging with education post pregnancy, which may improve the economic and social prospects of the teenage mother, her long term outcomes and those of her child. Findings indicated that the teenage mothers found motherhood fulfilling indeed and motherhood was in fact an important motivational factor in their future aspirations. Findings also strongly indicated that there is a need for discursive formations which encompass diversity and difference amongst teenage mothers and wholesomely defines their strengths and potential in order to reproduce the “truth”. Research should develop educational programs and in particular literacy programs based on the theory of cultural production in order to equip teenage mothers with language and critical thinking skills in which to negotiate their need for equal access to power and resources; and reposition themselves in order to negate widely held societal presumptions about young mothers. Herein lies the challenge for a new social reality.

Resumen
There has been very little research into repeat pregnancy in teenage mothers. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of pregnant teenage mothers who were expecting their second child. Six pregnant teenage mothers were interviewed and asked to complete a number of questionnaires. Interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) of the interview transcripts demonstrated the four following super-ordinate themes: "Being a good mum", "It's not easy but it's a case of having to cope", "Perceptions and misjudgements", and, "Building my life". A number of theories are presented that may help us understand the experience of second pregnancies in teenage mothers. It is hoped that the findings of this study will help us to begin to understand more about the experiences of this population from their perspective and facilitate professionals to be in a better position to provide teenage mothers and their children with appropriate support.

Resumen
Cycling is a popular transportation mode for teenagers; however, statistics show that bicyclist fatalities on minor roads are higher for teenagers (44%) as compared to older bicyclists (28%). The implementation of automated vehicles (AVs) is expected to make roads safer. Nevertheless, very few studies have focused on cyclist-AV interaction, especially on teenage cyclist population. This study examines teenagers’ perceptions on infrastructures necessary to share roads with AVs. A virtual focus group study with twenty four participants evaluated six potential traffic infrastructure designs using discussion and survey questions. Participants’ data on demographics, generic cycling behavior, and personal innovativeness were collected. Results show that participants showing risky cycling behaviors on roads were more flexible in design guidelines compared to teenagers exhibiting positive cycling behaviors. Teenagers mentioned coherent, direct, safe, and comfortable being the most important factors to design supporting infrastructures for AVs. They preferred spacious bike lanes, clear markings, clearance between cyclist and vehicle lanes, and physical barriers separating AVs and cyclists.

Resumen
Teenage pregnancy in the Dominican Republic represents a persistent development challenge. This paper uses data from a randomized impact evaluation of the youth training program Juventud y Empleo, which includes soft-skills training, to examine its impact on teenage pregnancy. We find that the program reduces the probability of teenage pregnancy by 8 percentage points (about 20 percent), particularly among teenagers who are not already mothers. The program seems to affect teenage pregnancy through improvements in soft skills and expectations, among others channels. In addition, we find that the program plays a protective role for teenagers from more deprived backgrounds.

Resumen
This paper investigates the potential impact of extended school days in reducing teenage fertility. We study the Jornada Escolar Extendida program, which doubled the school-day length from 4 to 8 hours in the Dominican Republic, and exploit the geographic and time variation induced by its gradual implementation. We find evidence that a higher exposure to JEE in the municipality, measured as the percentage of secondary students covered by the program, reduces the incidence of teenage pregnancies, and that the effect is stronger after the program has reached at least half of secondary students in the municipality. The estimates are robust to various specifications and alternative checks. These results suggest that extended school-day policies can have spillover effects regarding teenagers fertility choices.

Resumen
This study attempts to quantify female teenage sexual activity, pregnancy, and motherhood in Bolivia using the most recent Demographic and Health Survey. Descriptive results suggest that teenage sexual activity, pregnancy, and childbearing are more prevalent among those adolescents who are more likely to be socially vulnerable and excluded. In addition, the high incidence of undesired pregnancies among Bolivian teen girls suggests that government action to prevent teenage pregnancy is needed. Lastly, the estimation results indicate that not only socioeconomic and demographic factors, but also some of the expected outcomes of teenage motherhood, regional fertility factors, and knowledge about and use of family planning methods, are significantly related to the probability of teenage pregnancy/childbearing.
