Texto completoThe main objective of this thesis is to contribute to selective maintenance optimization's strategies for complex mission-oriented systems. Selective maintenance is a maintenance strategy designed for specific multi-component systems operating a series of alternating missions and scheduled breaks. This policy aims at selecting the components and the level of imperfect maintenance in order to optimize the performance of the system under the constraints of company's limited resources. After identifying the limitations of existing works in the literature, this research project is involved in the development of new optimization models for selective maintenance strategies taking into account maintenance workforce resources and different planning horizons. In order to model real operating conditions of such systems in the industrial environment, maintenance is performed by repairmen with different skills and can also be outsourced. These different skills reflect the degree of expertise of the repairers and are modeled by different labor costs and repair times. The proposed models allow to highlight the correlation between selective maintenance decision-making and the assignment of maintenance tasks to repairmen. The models formulated are developed with the objective of maximizing performance criteria such as reliability or minimizing the costs generated, and consider different levels of imperfect maintenance. Some of them take into account a planning horizon of several successive missions, in order to obtain a joint optimization of resources over a larger horizon. Efficient resolution methods, exact and approximate, are developed to solve the proposed models

Texto completoMaintenance strategies based on RCM method are difficult to assess, due to some methodological difficulties whose resolution is the scientific scope of this PhD Thesis: - the systems considered are composed of numerous dependent components with different degradation and failure phenomena, - maintenance strategies are complex, based on different tasks and without a simple structure. The objective of this PhD Thesis is to propose a method to quantify maintained systems performances. We propose a modelling framework which takes into account all the phenomena that describe multi-component system behaviour and complex maintenance strategy impact. A two-level structure allows a detailed description of components degradation/failure behaviour, all the possible maintenance tasks realisation and the consequences on the system. A global cost criteria based on system unavailability and maintenance costs renders possible to compare different strategies. The approach is implemented by using Petri nets and Monte Carlo simulation. The method is validated through its application on two systems from EDF nuclear power plants: - system AGR study presents the possible utilisations and the results obtained, - system TPA study illustrates the application on a real system and helps to define some further developments on data integration

Texto completoThis thesis deals with the maintenance operation scheduling issues of commercial vehicles. It is a CIFRE collaboration between the Volvo group, LAGIS and LM2S laboratories. The aim is to suggest a maintenance scheduling service adapted to the vehicle with an optimized maintenance cost. The vehicle is considered as a multi-component system. For each component, the optimal maintenance dates are computed using a maintenance cost function. This cost function depends on the preventive cost, the corrective cost and possibly the inspection cost, and also on the component failure probability function. In our system, two types of components are defined according to the available component state information : age or degradation level. The failure probability function is fixed a priori for the first component class while it is updated at each inspection for deteriorating and monitored components. The maintenance operations are grouped on a rolling horizon. Some operations must be shifted from their optimal maintenance dates, which implies a penalty cost. The maintenance scheduling depends on the set-up cost, the penalty cost of each operation, and a minimal time interval between two maintenance groups which represents the preparation time. The set-up costs depend on the number of maintenance stops. The saving cost is computed from the difference between the maintenance cost with individual operations and the maintenance cost with the defined operation groups. The developed algorithm provides the optimal maintenance planning according to the available degradation data and the operational constraints. Maintenance scheduling is updated at the next inspection date

Texto completoThis thesis focuses on the development, the evaluation and the optimization of new maintenance policies for multi-component systems. This approach is justified by the fact that contrarily to single component systems which have been extensively treated in the literature on maintenance strategies, multi-component systems with economic and stochastic dependence have been much less studied due to the difficulty in modeling such kind of dependence. In this context of studying multi-component systems maintenance, this thesis is made of three independent parts. The first part focuses on a particular type of equipment whose state can only be known following inspection. Such equipment made of two components in series is considered. A new nearly optimal condition based maintenance policy based on sequential inspections of both components is proposed. In the second part, we consider complex multi-component systems in which the components are subject to random local and/or propagated failures, with or without isolation effect. A selective maintenance strategy is applied to such systems. In the third and last part, the concept of multi-component systems is extended to manufacturing systems with multiple machines. In this context, this part focuses on the development of an integrated production-maintenance policy for a production system consisting of two machines in parallel in presence of a form of stochastic dependency between them
