Meisel, Hélène. "La subsistance subjective. Problématiques romantiques dans l’art conceptuel". Thesis, Paris 4, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016PA040052.
Texto completoParadoxical and anachronistic, the idea of a “romantic conceptualism” first appeared in 1977 in an article by Boris Groys dedicated to Muscovite artists imbued with Russian Idealism. Reexamined in the 2000s by Jörg Heiser and Jan Verwoert, the critical hypothesis was extended to take in the international Conceptual scene, where certain elements of the original German romanticism survived, such as collective writing, the fragmentary form or the Witz spirit. Against biography, subjectivity and expression, at the end of the 1960s Conceptual Art still showed itself to be virulently anti-Romantic. Defending an “emotionally dry” practice in which the idea would become “a machine that makes the art”, the movement echoed the Structuralists’ anti-Humanism as well as their putting to death of the author. Yet a frustrated existentialism persisted among certain artists who continued exploring the concepts of identity and intersubjectivity, in an epoch of capitalist systems and cybernetic networks. It is through linguistic explorations that the conceptual subject romanticises itself, rediscovering, through incoherencies in formal logic, the mysticism of combinational thoughts and from the ambiguity of irony, the benefits of a “non-governed language”

Texto completoIn childcare places, the clinical psychologist can hear the disarry of the woman who has become mother. In a society that celebrate individualism, how will this psychoanalytic listening help the mother in her loneliness? Many separations will come in her mother’s life hence intense psychic work to access maternity and engage the subjective process of motherhood. At this stage, the psychic crushed by states of anxiety and emptiness, can immobilize the ego in a narcissistic and deadly retreat enclosing the mother in a deadly loneliness, hence the choice of my title “The feeling of loneliness in the test of maternity”.At this crucial stage in their own development and that of their child, to feel so lonely for these mothers can cause harm. Most of the time, we aknowledge on it can be seen that the subjective processes of motherhood are found to be fruitful and beneficial for the mother ego and that identity turn non suitable. However, we observe that the subjective feeling of loneliness can be destructive. The stage where the transition from being a woman to becoming a mother can being in pain. The interiority of the woman evolves ans transforms into becoming a mother. This interiority can be undermined by the presence of the real and fantasy child. These last resonate with his own infantile story. This interiority it reveals itself in the form of a subjective feeling of loneliness that is difficult to live, which drive to narcissistic and objectal pathology, creating of crisis situation unexpected. This work has the main purpose of showing the dead ends of these processes, as well as the difficult access to an area of loneliness source of subjectivation and creativity

Texto completoThis thesis is a story in which the researcher is involved personally, intellectually and emotionally. "Story" is the appropriate term because the researcher’s life experience and the topic of this thesis are closely tied up. It essentially presents a teaching adventure of French as a foreign language (FFL) in a high school in Shanghai (China), an adventure that has the term "intercultural" as its keyword. For 10 months, I conducted an ethnographic study from a research-action approach at Lycée Guangming de Shanghai, where French is taught as the first foreign language. What are the different measures to implement a so-called intercultural approach within an FLL course in a Chinese school context? How can interculturality raise the students' awareness of the richness of cultural diversity and make the target language a valuable language? In what way does the intercultural approach promote a process of decentralization and present otherness from a perspective of "humanism of diversity"? The researcher’s storytelling, description and reflection on his teaching experiences in the FLL classroom will shed light on these issues. Within a particular cultural context, this story is based on an ethnographic study that shows the specific characteristics of a Chinese high school and the Chinese school system. An attempt to “anthropologize” the education to link the Chinese culture with intercultural practices has been made. This thesis also focuses on the main characters of this story: the students and the researcher himself. What impact does intercultural practice have on students? In what way has this pedagogical approach caused a reflective change in FFL learners? The answers to these questions will be addressed through the thematic analysis of the interviews and the students’ reflective writing. To what extent did the research work entail a process of self-discovery and self-renewal for the researcher? This will be explained at the end of this story in which the researcher has reflected upon himself and progressively discovered his identity. The ethnographic, educational, personal and reflective dimensions are, hence, the different elements that build up this story

Texto completoThe doctoral research focuses on nursing beginners’professional identity feeling. It questions subjective experience about starting and enlightens the relations between identity dynamics (Kaddouri, 2006) during this transition (Guichard, 2007) and the emergence of the beginner’s professionalism. The qualitative methodology, in a psychophenomenology approach (Vermersch, 2012), questions personal subject logic in these moments (Mouchet, 2014) ; it mainly relies on concepts of identity feeling (Erikson, 1968; Allport, 1970; Tap, 1988) and emerging professionalism (Jorro, 2011).The longitudinal study is based on comprehensive interviews (Kaufmann, 2014), elicitation interviews (Vermersch, 1994) completed with the decryption of meanings (Faingold, 2011) and biographical interviews combined with elicitation (Lesourd, 2009).The results reveal a professional identity feeling which emerges among the beginners, and which is useful to develop their specific emerging beginning professionalism, and help to reconsider the professional accompaniment

Texto completoThe aim of this study is to investigate the components of religion and spirituality in the specific context of "Fryshuset" – a multicultural and glocal arena. Against the backdrop of contemporary researchers such as Heelas and Woodhead and their hypothesis about the "spiritual revolution" and a "new spirituality", as well as the postmodern discussion about "the return of God", this study discusses how religious change can be understood in the context of Fryshuset.
The theoretical point of departure is taken in a hermeneutical method where Fleck´s theory about "thought-collective" and Gidden´s theory about the "duality of structure" are used in order to understand and describe the dialectical relationship between individual and social structure.
The method used in this study is qualitative. The interviews are made of six individuals representing different social projects at Fryshuset.
By analyzing the material from the field study through theories on religious change, three areas are identified:
- "The subjective turn"
- Religion and spirituality
- A Cosmopolitan interpretation of life
The result of this study is that the religiosity among the interviewed can be described through Taylor’s understanding of the "subjective turn". Furthermore they are also part of a "double subjective turn" understood as an internalized subjective turn. Despite the fact that a lot of what the informants describe corresponds to Heelas and Woodheads theories of "subjective life spirituality" it is not relevant to talk about a "spiritual revolution". However, according to Beckford´s theories about religion as a "cultural resource" it can be described as a kind of new spirituality which is used in order to act and think global. The individuals use religion and spirituality as a cultural resource in their formation of a larger cosmopolitan interpretation of life.

Texto completoThe World Health Organisation defines mental health as "a state of well-being in which the individual realizes her or his own abilities, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community" (WHO, 2001, p. 1). There is a paucity of academic research about the mental health status of minority groups, especially women of colour (Moultrie & Kleintjes, 2006). In South Africa too, this gap in research is evident when focussing on the mental health of women, especially Coloured women in South Africa. Women's health and their mental health in particular are often affected by the way society treats and regards them; often they suffer from emotional, mental and physical exhaustions. This study investigated the mental health status of Coloured female teachers working in historically disadvantaged Special Schools in the Cape Metropole of the Western Cape Education Department. This group designation is the designation that was formally used during South Africa's Apartheid past policies of segregation in categorising groups according to pre-determined race categories. Coloureds where then considered to be a minority grouping in South Africa. Reference is still currently made in democratic South Africa to the Apartheid race categorisations in contemporary formal policies that seek to redress the inequities of the past, both in terms of race as well as gender categories (Conway-Smith, 2011; Stromquist, 1998). Given the intimate association between race and identity, especially within a socio-historical context such as that of South Africa, it is reasonable to consider the impact of this association on an individual's mental health status.
Grienenberger, Gilles. "Anthropologie des pratiques politiques Mohawks de Kahnawake, Canada : pouvoir, identités, subjectivations". Thesis, Strasbourg, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016STRAG044.
Texto completoIn this thesis, we propose a study of political phenomena in the mohawk reservation of Kahnawake in Canada. We base our interrogation on data crossed between symbolism and praxis, the perceived and the experienced and the pragmatic dimensions supported by different aspects of material culture. This project of political anthropology which makes ontologies, subjectification phenomena and practices the central theme of its research, invites us to invest normative and ideational frameworks as much as the structural dynamics that animate the community and its different institutions. We wish to detach ourselves from studies that base themselves on paradigms built from such antagonistic dyads as tradition/modernity, authenticity/rupture, etc. Furthermore, we have broken off from works that essentially point to the functional aspects of the political and the institutional. In closely tightening up this vast ensemble that embraces a variety of fields, we postulate the existence of a coherent social, political and spiritual mechanism, able to espouse the irregular curves of this population’s life, marked by the sharp angles drawn by colonization and its consequences

Texto completoThis thesis offers a critical study of the novels of the Colombian writer Mario Mendoza, in particular of his period known as “The Descent into Hell (1992-2011)”, composed of eight novels. The methodology is based on a thematic analysis and a transdisciplinary interweaving of literature, psychoanalysis, and philosophy. Starting from the notion of subjectivity, understood from the perspective of psychoanalysis and the construction of a po-ethics of evil, it is proposed to make operational the concept of the subjective detective as a device of analysis in order to demonstrate how subjectivity and the po-ethics of evil are a basis for the narrative identity deployed in the author's work. This research is developed in three parts: “Mario Mendoza or the duty to inscribe degraded realism”, “Subjectivity and crimes in Mario Mendoza's novels”, and finally “Remembering through fiction, or the work of making fiction in spite of memory”. Finally, this work undertakes research about the political repercussions of Mendoza’s novels as a po-ethical practice encouraging a particular mode of resistance against the imperatives of the time that configure its conditions of emergence

Texto completoThis thesis deals with the legacy inherited from the generations after the arrival of the first migrants from the Maghreb and more broadly from the Islamic world. The immigrant is an exile of the womb, difficult living conditions led him to go and seek elsewhere, to go into exile. Once on the coasts of the Occident his world is called into question. Particularly with the emergence of the object « a » frequently hidden under a veil on the lands of Islam. Desire and temptations lead to a trauma due to the turmoil in the speech of the Other in oneself...The word of the Other befalls as a predestination. For the heir to the exile this question becomes more marked, as Lacan says « the unconscious is the desire of the Other », something is imparted beyond the message… the wrench of the exile is transmitted and the physical exile comes and covers the exile of the language

Texto completoThe social and professional integration process appears to reactivate exclusion related psychological troubles, defined as the « narcissistic disturbances of the sense of identity » (R. Roussillon) revealing a « topical collapse » (C. Janin) between the « the inter- and trans-subjective and the intra-psychic spaces » (R. Kaës). The role of the clinical psychologist is to propose clinical settings capable of ridding this process of the negative effects of traumatic repetition. The author, based on 20 years of clinical experience in Missions Locales, social structures for reintegration which welcome more than 1.2 million young people in France every year, proposes the deployment in these institutions of orioplastic settings. The notion of « orioplasty » is borrowed from the artist A.Stella who derives the terms from the Greek words orio (limit) and plassein (to shape or mold). The study of three tightly linked protocols, one for individuals and two for groups, simultaneously highlights their characteristics involving space and time, conferring them with the quality of a « pliable medium » (R. Roussillon, M. Milner), and the processes, both psychological and social, involving a « dual mental linking process » (C. Vacheret), in reference to the « double limit » of A. Green, that they permit to establish. Thus, the author raises the question of a new stage in public sector psychiatry which would consist of going into the institutions of social integration in order to better take into account the problems of social insecurity and exclusion, and addresses the question of the conditions and the limits involved in this new approach

Texto completoThis thesis aims at deconstructing the concept of "young poor", based on the analysis of identity issues in urban, working-class youth in Argentina in the early twenty-first century. To this end, it analyzes the tensions between three key elements of the social dynamic. The first element is the inflicted look (the identity one constructs from other’s look). The second element is the social conditioning (inherited capital in the cultural, social and economic sense). The third element is young people’s aspirations (the identity they aim at). The analysis of their "subjective paths" is supported by a description of their "relational transactions" and "biographical transaction". It explores the identity-building process within the institutions invested by young people: school, family and work. The social inclusion process is seen in a new way, emphasizing the changes and continuities in popular culture. Breaking with the previous generation, the middle school has become a reference range in the socialization of the working class youth. By their mode of experiencing schooling – with discontinuous cycles longer spells – the school institution itself has been transformed. The results found here contradict the thesis of disaffiliation and breaking of social ties. We find a strong social inclusion of young people within their families: solidarity within the family is strong. The work has not lost its centrality, which takes a central place in the construction of the social identities of popular youth, against the theses on the peak of the non-travail culture and dependence on public assistance

Previous research has discovered that most 18-to-25 year olds do not feel they have reached the rite of passage known as adulthood. This period of development, termed “emerging adulthood”, is characterized by identity exploration and myriad possibilities related to who one is and what one wants out of life. Empirical evidence suggests that future goals linked to one’s identity are more likely to be obtained through three actions specified in the Selection-Optimization-Compensation (S.O.C.) model: selecting goals to focus one’s resources, optimizing goal-relevant means, and, when necessary, compensating for losses that may occur in these means. The purpose of this study was (a) to identify the proportions of 18-to-25 year old perceived adults vs. emerging adults in a university sample (n = 828); (b) to assess the degree to which self-reported perceived adult status distinguishes self-reports of achieved adult criteria, goal-pursuit strategies, and subjective well-being, and; (c) to determine the predictive utility of perceived adult status, background characteristics, and goal-pursuit strategies for understanding individual differences in life satisfaction, positive affect (i.e., subjective vitality), and negative affect (i.e., depressive symptoms). Analyses of on-line survey responses indicated that approximately one-fourth (24%) of participants reported they had reached adulthood, and, compared to their emerging adult peers, had achieved more criteria for adulthood and were using more effective goal-pursuit strategies. Step-wise multiple regression analyses revealed that specific background characteristics (e.g., relationship status and GPA) and goal-pursuit strategies (e.g., optimization) were significant and strongest predictors of the participants’ life satisfaction, positive affect, and negative affect. Perceived adult status was a significant moderate predictor of both life satisfaction and positive affect but was unrelated to negative affect. Implications of the findings for developmental researchers, educators, and practitioners are discussed.

Texto completoThis research is dedicated to the professional identities of military engineers in both engineering corps of the "Délégation générale pour l'armement" (DGA) - the "Ingénieurs des études et techniques d'armement" (IETA) and the "Ingénieurs de l'armement" (IA) - in the contemporary context of profound change in institutional identity and more generally of destabilization of previous forms of collective bodies and identification of established roles. In addition to providing knowledge on their roles, functions and careers, it aims to identify, through an analysis of the mechanisms of identity construction in an interactionist perspective, the different modalities of accession to the dimensions of the engineering profession and the values which it proffers at the same time as forms of attachment to the military institution. Essentially based on a series of biographical interviews, the results of this research show that the military engineers indifferently refer to several exclusive professional models based in part on their degree of militarity (references to the military, world and / or that of the engineer) and their adherence to the successful values largely conveyed m engineering schools m France, Ultimately, the disparities seen in the construction and development of professional identities of military engineers depend on unique biographical trajectories and the relationships they establish with structural, situational, personal and social factors
Minet, Alain. "Se construire parent d'enfant handicapé mental : significations imaginaires sociales et subjectives". Sorbonne Paris Cité, 2015. https://tel.archives-ouvertes.fr/tel-01913036.
Texto completoThe handicap challenges the parental project in its psychic and social dimensions: the continuity of oneself through his/her child is largely thwarted: the narcissistic benefits of the parenthood are not met, and the expected change of status of a social advancement reverses in social decline. The parent then starts a deep psychic and social reshuffling. A self- image and an identity are to be rebuilt, to try to mobilize a prominent social signification: a good parent responsible for his child. It is at the heart of the subject, its history, its identifications, the psychic, representative and emotional conflict, towards the non-desired object that the parent tries to build this good parent who takes care of his handicapped child. The analysis concerns, at first, associations which were created in the middle of the last century and which then merged in an important federation of associations managing establishments for the mentally handicapped, the UNAPEI. These associations were the melting pot of the construction of a collective identity. One sees, through a socio-historical analysis, the signification of the good parent loving his child will constitute an helpful and salutary image for the stripped parent. In a second time, the analysis of individual interviews highlights how the figure of a good social parent, loving and responsible which weaves the now dominant imaginary significance allows the parent, to find a way to rebuild itself in a possible conflict which does not assign him to a non-desired, a rejected or an impossible to invest in parenthood

Texto completoOur presence from 1990 to 2010 as a social worker in Beaubreuil, district of the city of Limoges, Haute-Vienne, allowed us to support, observe and take part for over twenty years in the Vietnamese migration processes. All this time, we noted from a psychological perspective, that ruptures, resulting from the exile, then from the culture shock, were born by contacts with the host society, have given rise to individuals, complex problems including identity ones. In exile, to face the psychosocial risks caused by the instability of their psychic structure and their cultural system, the Vietnamese have invested public and private areas offered by the host culture. These approaches, multiple, allowed them in the redevelopment of these areas, to find, to recreate the elements perceived by them as fundamental in their native culture, necessary and essential to their work of psychic restructuring. In France, the cultural injunction of religious altars development in the private sphere has led them to reinterpret in a subjective way the question of the different components of their identity personal and social, cultural and religious The interactions between the native culture injunction and the space proposed by the host culture has engaged transformations, changes in the elaboration of religious altars. In that way, they are reflecting and are forming analyzers, particularly relevant to us, the intercultural exchange process

Texto completoThis thesis deals with sex and gender concepts in relationship to both social judgments and the gender self-concept. The first research includes two studies and deals with intergroup sex representations among a student population. The first study shows an asymmetry of the explanatory function of male and female group representations, which appears to be linked to the asymmetry of status between men and women. The second study criticizes those results, using the ego-ecological model (Zavalloni et Louis-Guérin, 1984; Zavalloni, 2007) through an adaptation of the first phases of the IMIS tool. As a conclusion, these results are questioned especially in the framework of a relativization of the expectations of the theory of the dominant and dominated groups (Lorenzi-Cioldi, 1988 ; 2002). The second research includes two studies and deals with the effect of social context on gender self-concept and social judgments among a population of mountain sports people. The third study thus shows the context sensitive variability of the mobilization of the feminine and masculine roles (Bem, 1974) in relation to gender self-concept. The fourth study focuses on the context sensitive variation of the sexed representations and the approval of the other sports people among this same population. Finally, the third research, through a case study, deals with the psychosocial anchorage of gender identity and with some subjective modalities of its contribution to people existential projects

Texto completoThe purpose of this study is to question the classical point of view about immigrant children in france. It gives the explanation of their situation in terms of acculturation, personal and cultural identity conflicts, social and psychopathology. The author puts forward the concept of "interculturation" defined as an acculturative bi-enculturation" and tries to do an analysis of some immigrants children speech. By refering to the s. Freud and j. Lacan psychoanalytic concepts, the analysis consists of drawing their subjective positions in relation to the alienant choice concerning their "cultural identity". This is where they face the common but irreducible experience of their splitting as a subject and their lack of being. Intercultural and symbolic structuration possibility is also studied

Texto completoTraumatic brain injury (TBI) is a sudden traumatic event which generally concerns young adults. After the accident and their exit from the hospital, the injured experience a true rupture of their life. In the most severe brain injuries, they present disabilities like physical disorders, but it is the handicap known as "hidden (invisible)" that causes the more difficulties in their daily lives. This research relates to the study of the subjective quality of life of the brain-injured, evaluated by an international scale - the QOLIBRI - specific to the brain injury. Our main objective consists in studying, on one hand, the quality of life evaluated by the QOLIBRI in its validated French version and, on the other hand, its correlations with the psychopathological state of the injured, the coping strategies to the handicap and the identity rebuilding. The secondary objective is to propose an operating model of psychotherapy of the brain-injured. The present research makes it possible to point out the bonds between subjective quality of life, psychopathology (depression, anxiety, alexithymy, anosognosy, decline of self-esteem), coping strategies and psychotherapy. The absence of emotional disorders, the choice of adaptive and effective coping strategies, as well as psychotherapy, are factors which have a positive impact on the subjective quality of life of the injured and the identity rebuilding of those
