Resumen
AbstractSándor Weöres's poetry was a life-long passion and source of inspiration for György Ligeti. This article explores the role Weöres played in Ligeti's early development as a composer by providing insight into the genesis of all of his 13 early settings of Weöres, including the unpublished choral works Hajnal [Dawn] and Tél [Winter], the incomplete song “Nagypapa leszállt a tóba” [Grandpa descended in the pond], and the unfinished oratorio “Istar pokoljárása” [Ishtar's Journey to Hell], and by making some analytical observations on them. Ligeti's early settings of Weöres were composed in three periods. The first stage in 1946–1947 was his compositional discovery of Weöres's poetry, which seems to have acted as a fuel and a challenge for him, triggering something of a musical self-liberation. His Weöres settings in 1949–1950 may be seen as a sign of solidarity with the poet effectively silenced by Communist state authorities, while in 1952–1955, Weöres texts seem to have served specifically as material for Ligeti's experimentation with static music and serialism.

Resumen
Based on static data, changes in the diocese of the Masurian Evangelical-Augsburg Church were caused by the mass movement of Lutheran people to both German states. The number of faithful in the diocese decreased by 41.8% (from 39,811 to around 23,200), the parish council disintegrated, and the diocese’s income fell drastically (although the percentage of Church contributions paid by the faithful remained at the previous level). Along with the faithful, seven priests went to Germany; two state authorities were removed from the Masurian territories because of their pro-German views. 1959 is also a time of intensified efforts by the state authorities to procure the rectory and other non-religious buildings from the Church, which greatly undermined the Church’s pastoral and social work, and undermined the material basis of its existence.

Resumen
Abstract In January 1958, the townspeople of San Pedro de Buena Vista hunted down and killed peasant leader Narciso Torrico, sparking a wave of violence that provoked repeated state interventions in northern Potosí department, Bolivia. Encouraged by the Movimiento Nacionalista Revolucionario (MNR) state's rightward turn, local elites had regrouped to challenge revolutionary change. Meanwhile, José Rojas—a powerful peasant leader and key MNR ally—faced a crucial crossroads. Repeatedly tapped by state authorities to pacify San Pedro de Buena Vista, Rojas vacillated between asserting political autonomy and acquiescing to state power. While previous scholarship has viewed Rojas's relationship with the revolutionary state as clear evidence of the MNR's co-optation of Bolivian peasants, the events of 1958 provide a powerful counterpoint to this narrative. I argue that crucial intermediaries like Rojas evaded state agents' control in spite of their public support for the MNR, thus challenging the historiographical portrayal of peasant leaders' passivity in the postrevolutionary years.

Resumen
Abstract. The paper investigates the advance in the most intimate understanding of the construction methods of the Fabrica Solimene (1952–1955) in Vietri sul Mare, (Campania-Italy). The aim is to increase the level of geometric and informative detail of the model, digitally (re)built by means of an indirect method using a total station survey and subsequently by means of a direct method, i.e., by importing the elaborations derived from laser scanner acquisitions and photographic data sets into a BIM authoring vector software. For this purpose, using photogrammetry, new details are acquired, specifically addressed to the study of the static-mechanical behaviour of the perimeter wall studied in its mathematical configuration of the projecting bodies from bottom to top. This study is organised on the elaboration of new clean and decimated point cloud acquisitions to be converted into volumetric models for direct use in finite element calculation (FEM) codes aimed at structural analysis. Thanks to the proposed procedure, it possible to maintain the level of geometric detail appropriate to the resolution required for the analysis. At the same time, it makes it possible to find the best pipeline to reduce the size of the model and obtain the most accurate static-structural results.

Although the general solution presented there was correct, an omission occurred in the reduction to the quasi‐static form. Indeed, Ward and Hohmann (1988) indicated the corresponding expression for [Formula: see text] in my 1952 paper was “wrong” after they had replicated my general derivation. Also, they correctly pointed out that I should not have omitted then n = 0 term in the series expansion for [Formula: see text] in the quasi‐static limit.

Resumen
Abstract:This article takes an introductory excursion into newspaper sources for researching Nigerian children's history during the colonial period by analyzing and describing items including news, editorials, stories, photos, advertisements, columns, debates, features, and letters among others. It situates these newspaper sources within the context of the circumstances under which they were produced and the prevailing politics of identity, gender, and agency, on the one hand, and the interaction between the forces of “tradition” and “modernity” on the other. Instead of approaching children's experience from the well-established stand-points of disease, violence, delinquency and crime, this paper examines the following areas: children and education; children and motherhood; and children as consumers. These uncharted areas of Nigerian children's history render alternative and useful perspectives on agency and the centrality of childhood to colonial state's ideas of progress, civilization, modernity, and social stability.

Resumen
The Southern labor and desegregation movements were organized at the Highlander Folk School in Tennessee between 1932–40 and 1953–61, respectively. This historical sociology examines the role of journalism within the process of social reform by focusing on the labor and desegregation movements as racial “hot spots” of ideological tension and pragmatic transformation. A comparison of the relationship in news coverage in each movement period between the rhetoric of anti-Communism and the newspapers' normative fight against desegregation provides a point of critical analysis. In the interpretation of the resulting process of reforms, Anthony Giddens' (1984) theory of structuration supports the analysis of interactions between movement activists and their normative counterparts at the state's newspapers that ultimately produced social and institutional reforms.

Resumen
In this paper, the analysis of the design of the single-cylinder steam engine of the Grasshopper beam designed by Henry Muncaster in 1912 is shown. This engine was incorporated into ships and railways and it was published in the Model Engineer journal in 1957. It shows great complexity due to its ability to transform reciprocating movement into rotary movement and its high number of elements (more than 150). To this end, a study of computer-aided engineering (CAE) was carried out using the software Autodesk Inventor Nastran, consisting of a linear static analysis using the finite element method (FEM) of the 3D CAD model under real operating conditions in order to learn if it was well designed, according to material resistance criteria. The assembly is analyzed in the two most unfavorable situations in order to determine the von Mises stresses, the displacements and the safety coefficient distributions. Finally, it was found that the work pressure (maximum admissible steam pressure in the admission) was 0.15 MPa.

Resumen
Despite being a peripheral actor in the Cold War, Ireland in the immediate post-war period was attentive to cold war developments internationally, and the influence of the Catholic Church over state and society predominantly shaped the state's response to the conflict. Irish diplomats internationally sent home repo rts on communist activity in the countries in which they served. This article will discuss Thomas J. Kiernan, Ireland's Minister Plenipotentiary in Australia between 1946 and 1955, and his responses, views and perceptions of Australian anti-communism from his 1946 appointment to the 1951 plebiscite on banning the Communist Party of Australia, which ultimately failed. Through analysis of his reports in the National Archives of Ireland – including accounts of his interactions with politicians and clergy, the Australian press, parliamentary debates and other sources – it argues that his views were moulded by the dominant Irish conception of the Cold War, which was fundamentally shaped by Catholicism, and his overreliance on Catholic and print sources led him to sometimes exaggerate the communist threat. Nonetheless, his reports home to Dublin served to reinforce the Irish state's perception that communism was a worldwide malaise which the Catholic Church and Catholics internationally were at the forefront of combatting.

Resumen
The result of a process begun in the nineteenth century, the French system of socio-professional classification (code des catégories socio-professionnelles) was drawn up between 1951 and 1954 and has only been slightly modified since. With no strong theoretical framework and conceived according to a realist approach, it gave substance to social classes in the description of postwar society. During a period of “reworking” (1978-1981), it became an exciting topic of sociological exploration, furnishing a representation of Pierre Bourdieu’s two-dimensional social space and serving as a laboratory for the pragmatic sociology of Luc Boltanski and Laurent Thévenot. In a subsequent period of “updating” (1995-2001), administrative caution regarding changes contrasted with the evolution of categories used in labor law and the goal of analytical purity underpinned by econometrics. The history of this classification details the peculiar position of a statistical tool for representing the social world, ostensibly static amidst constant changes to the institution that managed it, the actors who used it, the social categories—everyday or legal—to which it referred, and, finally, the sociological theories that gave it a conceptual grounding.

Resumen
Background.Cholesterol lowering drugs HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins) and PPARαactivators (fibrates) have been shown to reduce host inflammation via non-disease specific immunomodulatory mechanisms. Recent studies suggest that commonly prescribed drugs in general practice, statins and fibrates, may be beneficial in influenza-like illness related mortality. This retrospective cohort study examines the association between two lipid lowering drugs, statins and fibrates, and all-cause 30-day mortality following a medically attended acute respiratory illness (MAARI).Methods.Primary care patient data were retrospectively extracted from the UK Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) database. The sample comprised 201,179 adults aged 30 years or older experiencing a MAARI episode. Patient exposure to statins or fibrates was coded as separate dichotomous variables and deemed current if the most recent GP prescription was issued in the 30 days prior to MAARI diagnosis. Multivariable logistic regression and Cox regression were used for analyses. Adjustment was carried out for chronic lung disease, heart failure, metformin and glitazones, comorbidity burden, socio-demographic and lifestyle variables such as smoking status and body mass index (BMI). Statistical interaction tests were carried out to check for effect modification by gender, body mass index, smoking status and comorbidity.Results.A total of 1,096 (5%) patients died within the 30-day follow up period. Of this group, 213 (19.4%) were statin users and 4 (0.4%) were fibrate users. After adjustment, a significant 35% reduction in odds [adj OR; 0.65 (95% CI [0.52–0.80])] and a 33% reduction in the hazard [adj HR: 0.67 (95% CI [0.55–0.83])] of all-cause 30-day mortality following MAARI was observed in statin users. A significant effect modification by comorbidity burden was observed for the association between statin use and MAARI-related mortality. Fibrate use was associated with a non-significant reduction in 30-day MAARI-related mortality.Conclusion.This study suggests that statin use may be associated with a reduction in 30-day mortality following acute respiratory illness that is severe enough to merit medical consultation. Findings from this study support and strengthen similar observational research while providing a strong rationale for a randomised controlled trial investigating the potential role of statins in acute respiratory infections.

AimTo evaluate mortality among Japanese Olympic athletes compared with the general population and also evaluate their mortality based on total number of Olympics participation and intensity of sports disciplines.MethodsInformation on biography, vital status, date of birth, date of death and latest follow-up date on Japanese Olympians was retrieved from six online databases and compared. Standardised mortality ratio (SMR) was estimated according to observation periods and years from last participation in the Olympics. To further evaluate the association between mortality and total number of Olympics participation/intensity of sports disciplines within the study population, rate ratios (RRs) adjusted by sex, observation period and attained age group were estimated by a Poisson regression model.ResultsA total of 3381 Olympians were included in the analysis. The total person years was 94 076.82. The deaths of 153 (4.53%) Olympians were confirmed, and the overall SMR was 0.29 (95% CI, 0.25 to 0.34). SMRs categorised by years from last participation did not differ significantly. Higher mortality was observed among those who participated in the Olympics twice (RR: 1.52; 95% CI, 1.04 to 2.23) and three times or more (RR: 1.87; 95% CI, 1.08 to 3.25) compared with those who participated just once. Compared with combination of low static and low dynamic intensity category, higher mortality was observed in most combinations of middle-intensity or high-intensity categories.ConclusionJapanese Olympians lived longer than the general population. More frequent participation in the Olympics and higher intensity of sports disciplines were associated with higher mortality.

Resumen
Grasping the concept of transience or time has been a basic theme in art; hence it is no surprise that Proust also tried to search for the lost time. However, many people try the impossible: to capture the ephemeral. In any case, transience is a fundamental theme of art, although its representability is always questionable. As Jauss (1952/1996) writes, “time has a special relationship with narrative art” (p. 5). However, the notion of time is inherently difficult to define. As St. Augustine’s saying goes—which now has become a catchphrase—“What then is time? If no one asks me, I know; if I want to explain it to a questioner, I do not know” (Augustine, 2006, p. 242). According to Henri Bergson (1889) time is the central question of metaphysics. If this puzzle were solved, everything would be solved. Time is perceived only in its transience. Borges wrote “time is the substance I am made of” (1956–1960/1964, p. 234). The static nature of visual art—prevalent until videos and video installations emerged—makes it particularly problematic to show a phenomenon that can only be perceived in its transience. The great challenge for art is how to depict this elusiveness. The eternal question is how we can be the same and yet different. What remains is memory. Memories are partly individual, and it is largely memories that constitute us. Thus, the topic of my paper is the representation of time, more precisely that of the passing of time, and of memories in contemporary art and the possible attitudes of the artists to stop the past, since remembering is also a rewriting and reinterpretation of the past.

Resumen
An increase in the number of people living in towns and cities is referred to as urban expansion. It is the result of population concentration in reaction to the availability of a wide range of amenities and services in the city center. Himachal Pradesh, as India's least urbanized state, experienced a significant increase in the number of urban settlements between 1951 and 2011. Understanding the stages of urban development in a country/state can be aided by studying urban growth by size class of towns. As a result, the current paper is a modest attempt to look into Himachal Pradesh's urban growth by size class from 1951. It is based on data of the Census of India from 1951 to 2011. Himachal Pradesh's urban population increased by 4.5 times, from 1.53 lakh in 1951 to 6.88 lakh in 2011. The creation of new towns, which increased the overall number of towns to 59 in 2011 from 29 in 1901, is responsible for a substantial portion of the rise in urban population. The state's urbanization statistics suggest that the state's urban population is growing at a relatively slow pace. The prevalence of smaller towns can be seen in the structure pattern. The state has only one class I town, Shimla. Shimla's primacy among Himachal Pradesh's towns may be seen in the fact that the city accounts for approximately one fifth of the state's total urban population during the research period. In the districts of Kinnaur and Lahul Spiti, there are no towns; these districts are void of any urban population.

Resumen
To what extent has the recent war in Northern Ireland influenced Irish historiography? Examining the nomenclature, periodization, and the use of democracy and state legitimization as interpretative tools in the historicization of the Irish Civil War (1922–3), the influence of a southern nationalist ideology is apparent. A dominating southern nationalist interest represented the revolutionary political elite's realpolitik after 1920, though its pan-nationalist rhetoric obscured this. Ignoring southern nationalism as a cogent influence has led to the misrepresentation of nationalism as ethnically homogeneous in twentieth-century Ireland. Once this is identified, historiographical and methodological problems are illuminated, which may be demonstrated in historians' work on the revolutionary period (c. 1912–23). Following the northern crisis's emergence in the late 1960s, the Republic's Irish governments required a revised public history that could reconcile the state's violent and revolutionary origins with its counterinsurgency against militarist-republicanism. At the same time many historians adopted constitutional, later democratic, state formation narratives for the south at the expense of historical precision. This facilitated a broader state-centred and statist historiography, mirroring the Republic's desire to re-orientate its nationalism away from irredentism, toward the conscious accommodation of partition. Reconciliation of southern nationalist identities with its state represents a singular political achievement, as well as a concomitant historiographical problem.

Abstract The seminar on mass songs held in Nieborów, Poland in June 1950 is notable for what it did not accomplish: Amid a diversity of opinions voiced by poets, composers, and cultural officials, no firm guidelines for this seemingly new type of song emerged. What we can draw from examining the proceedings of this three-day session are an enhanced understanding of mass song as an evolving, not a static phenomenon and fresh insights into the political and logistical complexities that faced composers at this time.

Resumen
Code analysis has discovered that memory leaks are common in the C programming language. In the literature, there exist various approaches for statically analyzing and detecting memory leaks. The complexity and diversity of memory leaks make it difficult to find an approach that is both effective and simple. In embedded systems, costly resources like memory become limited as the system’s size diminishes. As a result, memory must be handled effectively and efficiently too. To obtain precise analysis, we propose a novel approach that works in a phase-wise manner. Instead of examining all possible paths for finding memory leaks, we use a program slicing to check for a potential memory leak. We introduce a source-sink flow graph (SSFG) based on source-sink properties of memory allocation-deallocation within the C code. To achieve simplicity in analysis, we also reduce the complexity of analysis in linear time. In addition, we utilize a constraint solver to improve the effectiveness of our approach. To evaluate the approach, we perform manual scanning on various test cases: link list applications, Juliet test cases, and common vulnerabilities and exposures found in 2021. The results show the efficiency of the proposed approach by preparing the SSFG with linear complexity.

Resumen
An assessment of the relative speeds and payload capacities of airborne and waterborne vehicles highlights a gap that can be usefully filled by a new vehicle concept, utilizing both hydrodynamic and aerodynamic forces. A high-speed marine vehicle equipped with aerodynamic surfaces is one such concept. In 1904, Bryan & Williams (Bryan & Williams 1904 Proc. R. Soc. Lond. 73 , 100–116 (doi:10.1098/rspl.1904.0017)) published an article on the longitudinal dynamics of aerial gliders, and this approach remains the foundation of all the mathematical models studying the dynamics of airborne vehicles. In 1932, Perring & Glauert (Perring & Glauert 1932 Reports and Memoranda no. 1493) presented a mathematical approach to study the dynamics of seaplanes experiencing the planing effect. From this work, planing theory has developed. The authors propose a unified mathematical model to study the longitudinal stability of a high-speed planing marine vehicle with aerodynamic surfaces. A kinematics framework is developed. Then, taking into account the aerodynamic, hydrostatic and hydrodynamic forces, the full equations of motion, using a small perturbation assumption, are derived and solved specifically for this concept. This technique reveals a new static stability criterion that can be used to characterize the longitudinal stability of high-speed planing vehicles with aerodynamic surfaces.

Resumen
Korean War films from the US and South Korea provide one cultural site through which scholar–teachers working in American studies, and the humanities in general, can intervene in the unending Korean War. An emergent peace movement has organized around term unending Korean War in order to educate the public both about the history of the three-year period of active combat, and about the repercussions of the fact that the Armistice Agreement, signed on 27 July 1953, stopped the shooting but did not end the war. In the US context, the Korean War is described as a forgotten war. When the war is remembered, it has often been interpreted as a limited, defensive, or static war – a war fought in the trenches – a perspective that tends to occlude the air war. Through a comparative study of the Hollywood film The Bridges at Toko-Ri (Mark Robson, 1954) and the South Korean film Welcome to Dongmakgol (Park Kwang-hyun, 2005), I explore conflicting ways of representing and remembering the air war: as limited to an interdiction campaign in the former, as the cause of civilian casualties in the latter. The friction that results from viewing Welcome to Dongmakgol against the grain of The Bridges at Toko-Ri provides one starting point for a discussion of the unending Korean War, a discussion which has yet to appear in the field of transnational American studies. My hope is that greater understanding of the devastating air war can contribute to the struggle for peace on the Korean peninsula.

Resumen
Abstract The 16 December 1954 Dixie Valley (MS 6.8) earthquake followed the Fairview Peak (MS 7.2) earthquake by only 4 min and 20 sec. A three-dimensional model of the two dip-slip fault systems based on recent detailed field studies shows the ruptures were separated by a 6-km step in surface trace. A boundary-element approach shows that the static stress changes imposed by rupture of the Fairview Peak earthquake are in the correct sense to explain the northward propagation of faulting along four distinct faults that comprise the Fairview Peak earthquake and the subsequent triggering of the Dixie Valley earthquake. The location of rupture end points at sites where static stresses change sign is also used to suggest that static stress changes may play a role in controlling the extent of fault ruptures. We also observe that the largest coseismic surface displacements tend to correlate with those sections of the faults showing the largest positive stress change from preceding ruptures.

Resumen
The article examines the U.S. approaches to the Korean question in the decade between the failure of the 1954 Geneva Conference, the entry into force of the U.S.–South Korea mutual defense treaty and the establishment of a new status quo in the region, and the beginning of the conflict in the Korean DMZ of 1966–1969. During this period, the Americans insisted that only the Republic of Korea, established in 1948 with the direct UN involvement, was the only legitimate regime on the peninsula. They allowed Korean unification only in the format of North Korea's accession to the Republic of Korea. The evolution of American policy in the region in the context of the change of political regimes in the south of the country and the transformation of North Korean tactics to restore the territorial unity of Korea are discussed. In general, during the period under review, the Americans quite effectively resisted the DPRK's attempts to put the issue of restoring Korean unity on the international agenda in a constructive way. The UN acted as a tool for legitimizing the U.S. military presence in the region, while the Korean Unification and Restoration Commission in fact merely broadcasted South Korea’s official point of view on events. On the other hand, the contradictions between real U.S. policy and Washington's articulated support for Korean unity discredited the American position in the eyes of the southerners. The Communists did not doze off, systematically working to strengthen their position in the UN. Under these circumstances, by the second half of the 1960s, the U.S. position on the Korean issue at the UN was in dire need of modernization.

Resumen
AbstractSince the 1990s, in the wake of the wars and ethnic cleansing in the former Yugoslavia, violence against women in wartime has become a matter of international concern. This article, on gender-based violence (G.B.V.) during the Irish Civil War, draws on research from scholars and activists around the globe, and newly accessible archival sources, to highlight the relatively humane treatment of women in Ireland – even during the bitter final stages of the Irish Revolution, c.1912–23. Records of the Irish Free State's Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee show that women suffered some serious and traumatising interpersonal violence during 1922–3 – often on account of their gender (as guardians of the domestic space). Women's interactions with the Civil War were thus distinctive from men's because of the prevalence in Ireland of forms of aggression and intimidation, including crimes against property, which transgressed public/private boundaries. However, I argue that it did not serve the strategy nor ideology of either warring side to denigrate women en masse. The genocidal aims underlying conflict-related G.B.V. elsewhere in the world were absent in Ireland, where gendered power structures, shored up by Catholic authority, remained largely unshaken by the revolution – despite the great efforts of many radical females. Revolutionary Ireland was not a safe place for many Irishwomen (nor indeed for some men); however, for pro- and anti-Treaty forces, maintaining propriety militated against the need for sexual violence as warfare.

Resumen
Purpose The purpose of this study is to present a simple analytic solution to wall jet flow of nanofluids. The concept of exponentially decaying wall jet flows proposed by Glauert (1956) is considered. Design/methodology/approach A proper similarity variables are used to transform the system of partial differential equations into a system of ordinary (similarity) differential equations. This system is then solved analytically. Findings Dual solutions are found and a stability analysis has been done. These solutions show that the first solution is physically realizable, whereas the second solution is not practicable. Originality/value The present results are original and new for the study of fluid flow and heat transfer over a static permeable wall, as they successfully extend the problem considered by Glauert (1956) to the case of nanofluids.

Resumen
This research evaluates the mechanical properties of hybrid adhesive bonds with various 100% cotton fabrics in static and quasi-static conditions and the influence of alkali surface treatment (NaOH) of the cotton fabrics on the mechanical properties. Biological fibers in polymers are characterized by low wettability with the matrix, which decreases mechanical properties. Adhesive bonds usually operate in cyclic stress, which causes irreversible failure before maximal strength. In this paper, a quasi-static test was used to load the adhesive bonds in 5–50% (192–1951 N) and 5–70% (192–2732 N) intervals with 1000 cycles. The results of SEM analysis showed good wettability of alkali treated cotton fabric with NaOH solution in hybrid adhesive bonds. The static test proved the influence of reinforcing cotton fabrics on shear tensile strength against pure resin, i.e., sample Erik up to 19% on 14.90 ± 1.15 MPa and sample Tera up to 21% on 15.28 ± 1.05 MPa. The adhesive bonds with pure resin did not resist either quasi-static tests. Reinforcing cotton fabrics resisted both quasi-static tests, even shear tensile strength increases up to 10% on 16.34 ± 1.24 MPa for the fabric Erik. The results of strain difference of adhesive bonds with Tera and Erik confirmed that a lower value of the difference during cyclic loading positively influenced the ultimate shear tensile strength.

Resumen
Even though the growing ambidexterity literature has delivered useful insights, this theme has been researched largely in static and a-contextual terms, without adequate attention to how an organization’s history and context can shape its present. In this article, we employ NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) as an in-depth case study to trace how its historical trajectory has shaped its current propensity to be ambidextrous. Our study reveals organizational ambidexterity as a path-dependent, contingent process rather than something necessarily achievable via the more generic prescriptions of structural, temporal, or contextual ambidexterity models.

AbstractThis article reviews the recent literature on the so-called myths of racial democracy in Latin America and challenges current critical interpretations of the social effects of these ideologies. Typically, critics stress the elitist nature of these ideologies, their demobilizing effects among racially subordinate groups, and the role they play in legitimizing the subordination of such groups. Using the establishment of the Cuban republic as a test case, this article contends that the critical approach tends to minimize or ignore altogether the opportunities that these ideologies have created for those below, the capacity of subordinate groups to use the nation-state's cultural project to their own advantage, and the fact that these social myths also restrain the political options of their own creators.

Resumen
Soil investigation has an important role before building a building. The carrying capacity of the soil obtained from the results of soil investigations is very influential on the shape and dimensions of the foundation itself. In the PT.Asahi Forge Indonesia Project, the SPT test data is out of sync with the actual piling results related to embedded pile penetration. The design plan for piles with a length of 7 m based on the N-SPT test turned out that in the field, the piles achieved a bearing capacity at a depth of 9 meters. The final project aims to analyze and compare the carrying capacity of a single pile based on static methods and N-SPT test on the Pile Driving Analyzer. The method used in this research is the study method of laboratory test results and N-SPT. Work steps include; preparation, literature study, data collection, carrying capacity analysis, and comparison of analysis results. The results of the analysis of the carrying capacity of the piles based on the static method by the (Vijayvergiya & Focht, 1974) method amounted to 549,201 kN; The (McClelland, 1974) Method of 426,292 kN; The U.S Army Corps Method is 459,545 kN and the Tomlinson (1977) Method is 474,191 kN. While the results of N-SPT were bearing piles bearing capacity with the Mayerhof (1956) method of 738,645 kN and the Schmertmann (1967) Method of 451,327 kN. Based on these results, the N-SPT test based on the Mayerhof (1956) Method of 738,645 kN was the closest to the PDA test results of 755,116 kN. The comparison of the results of the analysis between the static test, N-SPT and PDA test is 19: 24: 30. This means that the carrying capacity of the static pile and PDA test has a difference of 37% while between the N-SPT and PDA test has a difference of 20%.
