ABSTRACT. This study attempts to investigate how far artistic diversion can mobilize learners’ cultural, linguistic and identity-related resources. The study is based on a French language learning session with artistic creativity for allophone migrant learners at a training centre in Guadeloupe. The aim of the activity is for migrant learners to integrate French language norms through guided reformulation work, involving exploring some everyday objects whose usage (whether frequency, ultimate purpose or symbolic meaning) differs between cultures. Learners ask their peers about their relationship with the object ; care is taken to compare their usage both before and after their arrival in Guadeloupe. The research is based on corpora consisting of interactions between allophone migrant learners positioning their point of view by bringing into play a collection of language resources in order to produce the required decisions and responses. The data obtained aims to demonstrate the degree to which artistic diversion can mobilize learners’ cultural, linguistic and identity-related resources. The analysis shows that artistic creation is a strong motivator for learners’ sociolinguistic identity. Keywords: Plurilingual didactics, artistic diversion, French language integration, French as an integration language, sociobiography.

Resumen
This paper provides a case study of the artistic research project Confronting Realities – First Steps. Working on Cinematic Autosociobiographies conducted at the Film Academy Vienna/ mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Austria as well as a reflection on the relationship between its research approaches, theory and criticism. Drawing from literary autosociobiographies of Ernaux (Les Années, 2008) and Éribon (Retour à Reims, 2009), the aim was to explore, describe and produce cinematic autosociobiographies - autobiographies in regard to and contextualized within the frame of social class and larger historical developments. Over the course of 10 months a multi-level project was designed and conducted to explore the format of cinematic autosociobiographies within the course “Research Project II” of MA and BA Students for Directing, Script Writing as well as Film and Media Studies. A group of 8 external performers from various backgrounds joined the project. The project was designed on four levels: Level (1) of Autosociobiographical Exploration that created three exploration groups with varying composition – 14 artist researchers/ film and acting students from Europe, refugee artists from Iran and Syria - to explore, make accessible and contextualize one’s sociobiography. Level (2) of Cinematic Forms and Techniques intended to develop narratives, cinematic techniques and formats of cinematic autosociobiographies - 2 short films were produced in that context that show the diversity of cinematic form and content on the levels of visuals, framing, audio, editing as well as in the narrative and the narrative development. Level (3) of Interdisciplinary and Theoretical Contextualization intended to build a strong interconnection between artistic, theoretical and interdisciplinary research about social class, cinematic forms and collaborative strategies of film production. Level (4) of Reflection and Evaluation intended to create a reflective framework, especially focusing on the collaborative aspect of filmmaking, ethical aspects of working with autosociobiographies and of researching/ creating in an intimate way in an academic environment. Cinematic autosociobiographies have shown to provide unique artistic research approaches and tools to convey collective movements, to find relations between different realities as well as creating ways of making them accessible. Further research is still needed and planned.

Resumen
Abstract:Mental health literacy (MHL) and mental illness stigma (MIS) represent new horizons of study and intervention, particularly important, for both communities and clinical settings (European Commission & Portuguese Ministry of Health, 2010). In this paper we aimed to: a) describe a clinical sample (CS) and non clinical group (NCG) in aspects related to family history of psychopathology, contact with mental illness and “learning about mental illness”; b) differentiate groups in terms of MHL, shame and self criticism; c) test associations between MHL with shame and self criticism; and, in the clinical sample, d) test the relationship between self stigma, shame and self criticism; e) explore the predictor role of other’s support in self stigma. To do so we collected data from a sample of 187 young adults, including CS and NCG, using: a Sociobiographic Questionnaire; Opinions about Mental Illness (Cohen & Struening, 1962); Other as Shamer Scale (Goss, Gilbert & Allan, 1994); Internalized Shame Scale (Cook, 1994); and Forms of Self Criticizing and Self Reassuring Scale (Gilbert, Clarke, Hempel, Miles, & Irons, 2004). Our results show that: most of the subjects learned what is mental illness at school; CS know more people that has or had mental illness than NCG; there are no differences on MHL within samples; shame and self criticism are higher in the CS and correlate with self stigma; others support predict self-stigma. Several research and clinical implications are presented. Keywords: mental health literacy, shame, self criticism, clinical sample, community sample, young-adults.

Resumen
Abstract Background Childhood trauma (CT) is associated with an increased risk for psychiatric disorders like major depression and psychosis. However, the pathophysiological relationship between CT, psychiatric disease and structural brain alterations is still unknown. Methods PRONIA (‘Personalized Prognostic Tools for Early Psychosis Mangement’) is a prospective collaboration project funded by the European Union under the 7th Framework Programme (grant agreement n° 602152). Considering a broad set of variables (sMRI, rsMRI, DTI, psychopathological, life event related and sociobiographic data, neurocognition, genomics and other blood derived parameters) as well as advanced statistical methods, PRONIA aims at developing an innovative multivariate prognostic tool enabling an individualized prediction of illness trajectories and outcome. Seven clinical centers in five European countries and in Australia participate in the evaluation of three clinical groups (subjects clinically at high risk of developing a psychosis (CHR), patients with a recent onset psychosis (ROP) and patients with a recent onset depression (ROD)) as well as healthy controls (HC). To investigate the high-dimensional patterns of CT experience, measured by the childhood trauma questionnaire (CTQ), in HC and our three patient groups (PAT) (n=643), we used a Support Vector Machine (SVM). Furthermore, we tested whether patient-specific CT exposure is associated with structural brain changes by VBM analyses. Results We found that patients and HC could be separated very well by their CTQ pattern, whereas the different patient groups showed no specific CTQ pattern. Furthermore, an association with extensive grey matter changes suggests an impact on brain maturation which may put individuals at increased risk for mental disease. Discussion We have demonstrated in this large multi-center cohort that adverse experiences in childhood contribute transdiagnostically to the riskr for developing a psychiatric disease. The observed association between CTQ scores and structural changes suggests an impact of adverse childhood experiences on brain development. Resulting alterations may add to a neurobiological vulnerability for depression and psychosis. A role of both features for other mental disorders could be assumed and warrants further investigation.

This thesis focuses on the relationship between psychiatry, psychoanalysis and communism during the period 1934-1985, from the Popular Front period to the years of decline of the French Communist Party (FCP) in the 1980s. It investigates this history regarding its relation with the reformist trend in the psychiatric environment organized under the law on the insane dated June 30, 1838 which emerges out of the medical field in the thirties until the normalization of the public psychiatry subfield at the end of the eighties, reinforced by the introduction in France of the psychoanalysis.Based on the analysis of the biographical career of the communist psychiatrists and the collective biography of the group they constitute in 1945, the purpose is to articulate the comprehensive analysis of the cases for action put forward by the actors with the objectification of their held positions, in their career as well as politically, in the context of a political commitment considered in relation with the shared history of the public psychoanalysts group. Articulating the sociology of political mobilizations and the sociology of careers, the investigation focuses on the various kinds of social, practical and intellectual hybridization that are formed in the action between militant practices and professional activity experienced as a political commitmentAfter having brought to light the players’ capacities and the events that create the premises of a communist psychiatrist identity, we will investigate, the joint action of the mechanisms of homogenization and supervision put in place by the FCP and the appropriations realized by the considered psychiatrists, in relation with the different configurations of the activist undertaking and the reconfigurations of the professional field. We show how the know how gained in the professional field is brought at the service of the political undertaking targets and how the acquired militant know how is used as a resource in the struggles for recognition of psychiatry in the medical field. In the course of these interactions, an identity of communist psychiatry is built up and required to be updated after both the international crisis of communism in 1956 and the fact that psychiatry becomes a self- sustaining part of psychiatry in the years near to1968. As opposed to other specialized medical fields, the nature of the object of psychiatry, mental illness, involves profound logical interrelationships, medical and philosophical conceptions as to the nature of the individual, his relation to the society and the norms which segregate the normal from the pathological. In this respect, the debates that go through psychiatry are not independent of the philosophical controversies and the development of the social sciences. This essay is thus part of a historiological sociology of intellectuals including the issue of the relations between the intellectual professions and politics. Are also discussed, the relationsips between intellectual professions and workers' leaders reaching the position of political institution’s intellectuals within the communist collective intellectual, the link between scholarly and political discourses, and the tensions between assertion of identity and the lock of the group and messianic vocation implying to be opened to the social world evolutions. Modulating the image of an irreconcilable confrontation between Marxism and psychoanalysis, the thesis reveals a strong link, made of alliances and competitions between Marxism and psychoanalysis against the biological conceptions of the psyche
