Resumen
The year 2005 marked the 600th anniversary of Zheng He’s first voyage on the Indian Ocean and the 50th anniversary of the Bandung Conference. In the same year Mwamaka Sharifu, a girl from La mu island in Kenya, also a descendent of sailors of Zheng He’s fleet (1405-1433). was awarded a scholarship to study in her “home country”. In 2019, the novel The Dragonfly Sea by the Kenyan female writer Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor, which incorporates the story of Mwamaka Sharifu, was published by Alfred A. Knopf By using the concept of “fictive ethnicity”, proposed by Bali bar, and “push back”, as articulated by Ruth Simbao, this paper tries to explore how the history of Zheng He is adopted and narrated to construct, blur or refute boundaries of nation and ethnicity in The Dragonfly Sea. It also investigates how fictional writing, both aesthetically and culturally, intervenes and responds to the dominant discourses surrounding “China-Africa” by exhibiting the ambiguity and nuances within. It shows that an epistemological and discursive fracture exists between Africa and China that leads to a binary construction of the myth of Zheng He, which might be effective to some degree but runs the risk of repeating nation-state and ethnic configurations.

Resumen
Can Gio mangrove forest (CGM) is located downstream of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), situated between an estuarine system of Dong Nai - Sai Gon river and a part of Vam Co river. The CGM is the largest restored mangrove forest in Vietnam and the UNESCO’s Mangrove Biosphere Reserve. The CGM has been gradually facing to numeric challenges of global climate change, environmental degradation and socio-economic development for the last decades. To evaluate sediment quality in the CGM, we collected 13 cores to analyze for sediment grain size, organic matter content, and trace element concentration of Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn. Results showed that trace element concentrations ranged from uncontaminated (Cd, Cu, and Zn) to very minor contaminated (Cr, Ni, and Pb). The concentrations were gradually influenced by suspended particle size and the mangrove plants.ReferencesAnh M.T., Chi D.H., Vinh N.N., Loan T.T., Triet L.M., Slootenb K.B.-V., Tarradellas J., 2003.
As explained in introduction (I. Wonders and goods), at the start of this research, one can find a hypothesis: in the Western world there is a certain imagination of the Elsewhere which has been constructed over the centuries both through travel stories and translations of tales. This oriental imagination has moved, over time, from the East to the West and from the West towards the Cosmos where it is still reinvented today through astronomical views, films and TV shows. Our line of work consisted of isolating the tropes and figures that could explain this imaginary persistence. To progress in this field we combined two very different gestures: a use of mashup and “literary compression” on three key-works: The Travels of Marco Polo, One Thousand and One Nights and Star Trek (II-For the World is Hollow); and a literal and historical analysis of a specific tale from One Thousand and One Nights (III- Simbad the Other Sailor)

Resumen
Abstract Simhah Elberg (1908?-1995) studied at Warsaw’s Emek Halakhah yeshiva, where his main teacher was the l).asidic rabbi Natan Spigelglas. He edited the Emek Halakhah journal there, as a means of combating Haskalah (Enlightenment). Elberg continued his study at the Montreux yeshiva (1935-1936), founded by Eliahu Botschko, after which he went to Paris to serve as a correspondent for the religious press and to write religious poetry. He also enrolled at the Sorbonne-where, after the war, he would defend a dissertation on the problem of slavery among the Jews of antiquity. Soon after he returned to Warsaw in August 1939 for his sister’s wedding, the Nazis invaded. But he was able to flee, made his way through Poland and Lithuania into Russia, and sailed from Vladivostok to Japan and then Shanghai (September 1941). He left Shanghai in 1946 and settled in Brooklyn, New York. Elberg’s parents, brother, and sisters and Natan Spigelglas were murdered in Treblinka and Auschwitz. Elberg’s Akaydas Treblinka (The Akedah ef Treblinka, 1946) began amid intellectual paralysis over the catastrophe. He found himself strangled by contradictions-for example, if Hitler personified absolute evil, how could he be the educational instrument with which Israel’s enemies were traditionally identified? He distilled the confusion into a single question, one posed from Moses to Job: Why did the righteous suffer and the evil ones prosper? Or, how could six million Jews die when God promised never to bring an end to Israel (see Jeremiah 5:18)? With this transcending question, the paralysis began to ease. The Akedah (binding for sacrifice) of Mount Moriah, Elberg wrote, remained with the people, and the slaughter of the death camps, where binding blended with murder, was its ultimate manifestation. The Akedah of Treblinka (i.e., of all death camps) was also the greatest of atonements, one for which the sacrifice of the holiest Jews, those of Poland and Lithuania, was required.

Resumen
The shallow water effect on ship manoeuvring cannot be neglected. Most sea-going ships become more course stable when they sail from deep to (very) shallow water. International collaborations such as SIMMAN intend to grade up the knowledge on ship manoeuvring prediction through model tests and system based and numerical methods. Free-running model tests executed with the very large crude carrier KVLCC2 at two laboratories have been compared with the results of simulated turning circles and zigzag manoeuvres from two different mathematical models. It was concluded that the type of mathematical model has an important influence on the simulated behaviour. Moreover, further research is necessary as simulations result into a more course stable behaviour compared to free-running tests at model scale.
