Resumen
Background: This study is a literature study that employed descriptive qualitative research design with a library research approach to describe the risk of unsafe anal sex roles behavior among men who have sex with men (MSM) towards HIV transmission. In this literature study, the researcher used various written resources to obtain the data such as journal articles that were relevant to the present study. Purpose: This study focused on measuring the prevalence of risky anal sex roles among MSM and the risk of those roles towards HIV transmission. Result: The results of this study showed that the unsafe anal sex behavior among MSM towards HIV transmission was highly founded in the receptive role compared to the insertive role or versatile role. Conclusion: MSM who performed the receptive role during the unsafe anal sex were more exhibited by young MSM. In order to decrease the risk of sexual behavior among MSM, it is necessary to start it over young MSM. Therefore, the increasing incidence of HIV among MSM can be controlled as well.

Resumen
Introduction. This article deals with the interpretation of the literary texts in an ESL classroom. We will try to analyze and examine the possible overcomes of the usage of literature in the classroom which means it will purely rely on the teacher and student involvement in the classroom situation. Research methods. It is clear that the problem of using literary texts in the English classroom is being observed and analyzed for a long time. There are many researches conducted in this field that have both positive and negative results. Literature is inseparable part of language learning since it deals with authentic text, and the reader can see the language of people who use it as their native. It can be a very helpful tool even if it has some cons which will not overweight the positiveness of this research. Results and discussions. Its is very important to mention that ESL classroom differs from a native speaker classroom for the reason that the students are not directly involved in the process of using the language that they are learning. The learning styles of the students with different cultural background also affects on the process of learning for the fact that culture is a part of language. Because of this reason language learning can be closely connected with the literature of that nation since you can come across with different cultural aspects while you read or examine any sorts of literary books.

Resumen
The artide discusses an important beginning of the feminist literary research in Sweden. The seminars started in Uppsala in 1967. The artide analyzes the aims of the sex role seminar and its activities duringthe first year 1967-68. Under personal management of Karin Westman Berg, experts held lectures on women's role in literature and the participants diseminated the new knowledge through artides in newspapers. An anthology, Sexroles in literature from the antiquity to the 1960s, was published the followingyear. The seminar was rnterdisciplinary with both women and men participating. The aim of the sex role seminar was twofold; to emphasize the importance of gender research and to offer a historical perspective on the current sex role debate. The seminar was the startingpoint of organized gender research in Sweden and it continued until 1977.

Resumen
Millions of people are affected by pain-related conditions worldwide. Literature has consistently shown that each individual experiences and perceives pain in a unique manner due to biological, environmental, and cultural factors in which they have been raised. It has been established that biological males and females perceive pain differently and that it may be partially explained by their distinct hormonal profiles since birth, which are only further magnified during puberty. For biological males, high levels of testosterone have shown to increase their pain threshold; and for biological females, estrogen fluctuations have shown to increase pain intensity and perception. However, sex hormones have not been studied in the context of pain treatment or their impact on biochemical pathways involved in pain perception. For this purpose, the transgender community serves as a unique population to investigate the impact of hormone replacement therapy on molecular pathways involved in the perception of pain. The purpose of this review is to explore the biochemistry of hormone replacement in transgender patients who also have other pain-related conditions such as headaches, fibromyalgia, temporomandibular myalgia, and visceral pain.

Resumen
Many rape survivors exhibit symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and recent literature suggests survivors’ beliefs about sex and control may affect PTSD symptoms. The present study examined beliefs about sex and power as potential mediators of the relationship between rape and PTSD symptoms for men versus women. Participants ( N = 782) reported lifetime history of rape, current PTSD symptoms, and beliefs about sex and power. Women reported higher levels of lifetime history of rape than men (19.7% for women; 9.7% for men). While rape history predicted PTSD symptoms for both genders, beliefs about sex and power were shown to be a significant partial mediator of this relationship for men, but not for women. Results extend the literature on rape and PTSD by suggesting that survivors’ beliefs about sex and power are connected and can affect their PTSD symptoms. Additionally, results illustrate how sexual violence against men may reaffirm male gender roles that entail power and aggression, and ultimately affect trauma recovery.

Resumen
SummaryThis paper reviews various theoretical approaches towards an explanation of parental gender preferences and empirical findings from developing as well as from industrialized countries, focusing on the role of gender preferences in reproductive decisions. Although various attempts have been made to shed light on the mechanisms underlying the observed patterns of sex preferences for children, a fully satisfying theoretical explanation is still not at hand. Empirically, a distinct and stable preference for at least one child of each sex can be observed as a common pattern of parental sex preferences across many different social, economic and cultural contexts. Further – and ideally multidisciplinary – research that helps to improve our understanding of this phenomenon is highly desirable.

Resumen
Theoretical models and empirical studies in various taxa have identified important links between variation in sex roles and the number of adult males and females (adult sex ratio (ASR)) in a population. In this review, I examine these relationships in non-human primates. Because most existing theoretical models of the evolution of sex roles focus on the evolutionary origins of sex-biased behaviour, they offer only a general scaffold for predicting variation in sex roles among and within species. I argue that studies examining sex role variation at these more specific levels need to take social organization into account to identify meaningful levels for the measurement of ASR and to account for the fact that ASR and sex roles mutually influence each other. Moreover, taxon-specific life-history traits can constrain sex role flexibility and impact the operational sex ratio (OSR) by specifying the minimum length of female time outs from reproduction. Using examples from the primate literature, I highlight practical problems in estimating ASR and OSR. I then argue that interspecific variation in the occurrence of indirect forms of paternal care might indeed be linked to variation in ASR. Some studies also indicate that female aggression and bonding, as well as components of inter-sexual relationships, are sensitive to variation in ASR. Thus, links between primate sex roles and sex ratios merit further study, and such studies could prompt the development of more specific theoretical models that make realistic assumptions about taxon-specific life history and social organization. This article is part of the themed issue ‘Adult sex ratios and reproductive decisions: a critical re-examination of sex differences in human and animal societies’.

Most research on sex and menopause has been conducted within a biomedical framework describing how, for example, declining hormone levels result in reduced sexual desire. Little research has examined women’s own perspectives. In this article we present an analysis of interview data from 12 British women experiencing natural menopause. Analysis identified the key role of interpersonal factors in sexual pleasure, alongside heterogeneity with regard to changes in sexual desire and orgasm. The findings complement existing psychological literature on the topic of women’s sexual and reproductive health which foregrounds social context and emphasizes diversity of experience.

Resumen
Sex-role socialisation begins from the day a child is born, and permeates all aspects of his or her life. As the child develops s/he gradually comes to acquire the behaviours and attitudes deemed appropriate for his or her gender. These behaviours begin to appear as early as three years, when a child's choice of play items becomes sex-typed. This development is the product of changes effected in child's behaviour via reinforcement (positive or negative) by the modelling and influence of significant others (especially parents, peers and the mass media). Such behavioural change is accompanied by cognitive development in regard to the child's concepts or schema regarding sex-roles and the child's personal identification with these roles. Of particular importance to the preschool child is storybooks; these act as mirrors to the outside world for the developing child. However, the messages are often stereotyped. The purpose of this study was to ascertain the extent to which children's adoption of sex-roles was amenable to change as a result of direct intervention, in terms of the effect of non-sexist stories on children's sex-typed toy-play behaviour. Eight sex-typed preschool children (four boys, four girls), from a Day Care Centre were selected to participate in the study. The experimental design used was single-case, where each child served as his or her own control. Specifically, the baseline phase involved the individual reading of a gender neutral story, followed by an observation of the child's toyplay behaviour, when presented with a set of sex-typed girl and boy toys. The intervention phase followed the same fonnat, however two non-sexist stories were used: a "girl" story and a "boy" story, with each displaying non-traditional behaviours for the relevant gender. The design was counter-balanced in regard to the order of presentation of the non-traditional stories, both for each child, and across the eight children. Thus four of the subjects' received the stories in the order ABC ACB and for the remaining four it was ACB ABC (A=Neutral, B=boy and C=girl). The 220 observations were conducted over a five month period, with data being plotted on a daily basis. The videotapes of the sessions were coded for any changes in levels of sex-typed play, thus the percentage of total time each child played with either the "girl" toys or "boy" toys was calculated. On completion of the observations the experimenter individually asked the children questions about the story and administered a number of tasks aimed primarily at ascertaining the children's recall and understanding of the stories. The subjects results are discussed on an individual basis, and then this is followed by an analysis of the three distinct trends that emerged. The first trend was that for some of the children the stories appeared to have an effect on their toy-play behaviour by increasing their levels of non-sex-typed play. For the second group, there appeared to be a temporary effect on toy-play behaviour and for the last there appeared to be no effect at all, that is there was no change from baseline. This is followed by an analysis of sex differences in the results, in that girls appeared to be influenced more by the girl stories than the boys were, by the boy stories. The findings are discussed from a number of theoretical perspectives on sex-role development, namely Social Learning, Social Cognitive and Gender Schema theories. The implications of the present research in an educational context are discussed, with particular reference to the importance of future research into the introduction of a more egalitarian curriculum being introduced into the preschool setting to help alleviate the restrictions stereotyping places on the human personality.

Kantartzi, Evagelia. "Sex role stereotypes in Greek primary school textbooks". Thesis, University of Hull, 2000. http://hydra.hull.ac.uk/resources/hull:8059.

Texto completo
Resumen
My purpose in this research is to examine the way in which the two sexes are presented in school textbooks. The incentive for pursuing my research was my own experience of using school textbooks and the observation of everyday reality. Until the present time research in Greece regarding the image of the two sexes has been limited to the primary school reading-scheme books. With this study I intend to give a detailed picture of the beliefs about sex roles as these are presented through the whole range of school textbooks. My ambition is that my work - in combination with other similar studies - will help instructors to comprehend and point out the traditional standard beliefs about the two sexes depicted in the textbooks which are used on a daily basis in schools in Greece. This research could sensitise instructors and simultaneously help them to be aware of and recognise the stereotype beliefs in the books they use. In this way they will be able, with the appropriate interventions and discussions, to consider their validity in relation to the children they teach. The present study is presented in 14 chapters. It is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the wide theoretical-work related to socialisation and the sex roles (Chapters 1-2). The third chapter discusses the agents of sex role socialisation (the family, peer groups, media, school). The fourth chapter studies the woman's professional role. Chapter 5 includes a brief description of the Greek educational system and an examination of a girl's place within it. The sixth deals with books as a factor in the configuration of the sex role. Chapter 7 includes a review of the related studies. The second part of the thesis includes the main body of the study, the methodology (chapter 8), the analysis of the results (chapters 9-13) and finally the conclusions and suggestions (chapter 14). Chapters 9-13 have their own separate bibliographies to facilitate reference for readers interested in one particular curriculum area.

Resumen
The purpose of this study is to review globalization literature and cluster literature to see how these two phenomena are understood, which perspective scholars refer to when analysing globalization and clusters, how can the approaches explain each other. The attention was focused more on the outcomes of globalization for the countries that are a part of the ongoing proccess rather than theoretical aspects, while cluster literature was chosen to address globalization and the attempt was to see the links between these phenomena. Bibliometrical analysis is used for the purpose, articles selected from the Emerald Insight database. The findings suggest that the main concern caused by globalization is inequality of income and wage which can be reduced by education for people can gain skills and knowledge which would make them competitive in demanding environment. Competitiveness is emphasized in cluster definition and the processes of globalization are seen as advantageous for cluster development. This literature review needs further analysis with more articles taken into consideration. The concept is advanced and developed, so there are many studies made regarding this topic. In this paper a certain aspect is observed to see how far the concept has advanced and how scholars view it.

Resumen
Background: Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) plays an important role in preparing safe and productive lives of adolescents through understanding about HIV/ AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, unintended pregnancy, gender-based violence, and gender disparity. This scoping review aimed to investigate the appropriate method of sex education and information for adolescents. Subjects and Method: A scoping review method was conducted in eight stages including (1) Identification of study problems; (2) Determining priority problem and study question; (3) Determining framework; (4) Literature searching; (5) Article selection; (6) Critical appraisal; (7) Data extraction; and (8) Mapping. The research question was identified using population, exposure, and outcome(s) (PEOS) framework. The search included PubMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, ProQuest, and EBSCO databases. The inclusion criteria were English-language and full-text articles published between 2009 and 2019. A total of 460 articles was obtained from the searched database. After the review process, twenty articles were eligible for this review. The data were reported by the PRISMA flow chart. Results: Eleven articles from developing countries (Nigeria, Thailand, Iran, California, Vietnam, Spain, South Africa, Indonesia) and nine articles from developed countries (USA, England, Australia) met the inclusion criteria with quantitative (cross-sectional, quasi-experiments, cohort, RCT) and qualitative design studies. The findings discussed available sources of sex education for adolescents including peers, school, media, and other adults. Digital media (internet and TV) contributed as preferable sources for adolescents. The parents and teacher’s involvement in providing sex education remained inadequate. Inappropriate sources of sex education like invalid information from the internet and other adults caused negative consequences on the sexual and reproductive health of children and adolescents. Conclusion: Parents-school partnership strategies play an important role in delivering appropriate information about sex education for children and adolescents. Resumen
In recent years, many cases of child sexual abuse have been exposed by the media. In addition to unscrupulous criminals and imperfect laws, children cannot correctly understand "sex" and lack of self-protection consciousness, which is also one of the sources of a series of tragedies. Therefore, the social attention of child sex education continues to rise. No matter family, school or society begin to advocate sex education, among which the role of family sex education can not be ignored. Based on the relevant research on the design of child sex education services, many literatures have identified the stakeholders of child sex education, put forward the issue of child sex education from the perspective of behavior design, and put forward the importance of parental participation. The key point of sex education for children is to drive parents' educational behavior and improve children's sexual knowledge acquisition degree. Parents' reasonable and perfect sex education can give children a healthier body and mind and avoid harm. But what kind of education form and content can better achieve the purpose has become the focus of social attention. This paper introduces the way of service design to integrate related resources and construct a service system to meet the needs of parents to carry out sex education for children. Information systems or software that strengthen, change or form a person's behavior, purpose or attitude without coercive means are called persuasion systems. It is proposed by Professor BJ Fogg from Stanford University to use persuasion technology to realize the design purpose of persuasion system, which can also be called "persuasive design". At present, theories of behavior table, FBM behavior model, eight steps of persuasive design, and persuasive web design have been formed, all of which are attributed to the unremitting research of scholars such as BJ Fogg and Andrew Chak. FBM model is a new model established by Fogg to study human behavior. It is a behavior model based on persuasive design. According to THE FBM model, there are three basic factors for individuals to produce behaviors. The first is motivation factor, which requires users to have certain motivation support to realize certain behaviors. Ability factor refers to the user's ability to achieve a behavior, or the difficulty of a behavior itself to the user's ability requirements; A trigger is a point of opportunity for the final completion of the action.Based on these theories, this paper will study the sex education model suitable for parents to realize in the family. With the support of persuasion theory, the behavior and needs of parents and children are analyzed to obtain the behavior table, and the three elements of behavior realization are analyzed according to Fogg behavior model. First of all, this paper analyzes the different behaviors that parents and children may have in the process of sex education, analyzes the relationship between them by using the behavior table, and analyzes the causes behind it. Secondly, this paper constructs the Fogg behavior model of children's sex education. Fogg behavior model is a new model established by Fogg to study human behavior. It is a behavior model based on persuasive design. According to Fogg's behavior model, there are three basic factors for individuals to produce behavior: motivation factor, ability factor and trigger factor. This paper analyzes the basic elements of parents' and children's behaviors in the process of sex education from three aspects of motivation, ability and trigger points, and puts forward some strategies to improve the quality of sex education for children, hoping to better improve the quality of sex education and play a positive role in promoting the development of sex education for children in the future.

Resumen
Empathy is commonly defined as “the ability to put yourself in another person’s shoes i.e. to truly see the world through others eyes in a given context or situation. This is particularly important in Service Design since it means that we are designing relationships. To do so implies a process of deep understanding and connection with different persons having a multitude of visions of the world, ways of behaving and acting. Having this central relevance Empathy is a compulsory condition to any Ser-vice Design project, being the engine both of the design thinking process and the design action process. In methodological terms this paper addresses this central role of Empathy and discloses it through the concatenation of literature review and the presentation of Design student’s service projects (developed in the Service Design Course from the Design graduation program at FA ULisbon), done with a social de-sign focus and developed in a specific conjuncture: the Covid pandemics. This peculiar context challenged the way the activities of observing and engaging with people occurred, making it hard to set aside assumptions, thus suspending each student own view of the world around her/him. The critical assessment and discussion of the results of these group design projects allowed us to develop some tactics in order to overcome the constraints imposed by the pandemics. Hopefully this reflection will somehow contribute to the design area of Education and it is in itself an empathic gesture towards the Design education agents.

Resumen
Introduction: Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a neurological disorder that affects the dopamine-producing neurons and affects the patient’s movements. According to the World Health Organization, about 1% of the world’s population aged 65 years or older has PD. The study aims to analyze the hospitalizations for Parkinson’s disease in Brazil and highlight the importance of primary health care (PHC) in the care of these patients. Methods: This is an integrative literature review, using articles from the Pubmed and Medline databases, as well as the DATASUS database from January 2017 to January 2021. The descriptors used were: “Parkinson’s Disease”; “Comprehensive Health Care”; “Patient-Centered Care”. Results: In the period analyzed there were 3.536 hospitalizations for PD in Brazil with spending of R$14,937,372.3 highlighting the Southeast region that represents 49% of the total of these. Regarding sex, age and self-reported color/race, the most affected are men with 60.6%, individuals between 60 and 69 years (26.3%) and whites (49.9%). A total of 218 deaths were registered, with a mortality rate of 6.1%. Discussion: The PHC is responsible for part of the diagnosis and monitoring of patients with PD, being a central part in the coordination of care. It acts through the levels of care and improves the quality of life of its users through health actions, thus improving their quality of life. Conclusion: Basic health units must improve themselves through the continuous training of the professionals involved, thus resulting in a decrease in the mortality rate.

Resumen
Distributed teams have become a tendency among software companies. However, companies that apply Distributed Software Development (DSD) suffer from high developer turnover. Research shows that autonomy factors can mitigate or prevent team turnover. In this research, we investigate the role of autonomy on turnover in distributed teams through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Our findings revealed a set of autonomy dimensions that influence turnover in DSD projects. Besides, we identified the main factors related to autonomy linked to turnover in DSD projects. These findings provide software companies and organizations with a better understanding of the importance of autonomy factors to battle the DSD projects turnover problem.

Resumen
Zambian Education School-based Training (ZEST) is an innovative programme aimed at improving teaching in line with policy aspirations in Zambia. It draws on existing roles, structures and processes whilst making innovative use of technology and resources, to support teaching and to challenge attitudes which can limit achievement. A programme of research has been designed to better understand school-based continuing professional development (SBCPD) at a school-level. This presentation focuses on one strand of that research: school leaders. It seeks to make explicit what it is that school leaders do to support successful innovation. // ZEST is based on the policy aspiration that teaching should be more learner-centred, and defines learner-centredness in terms of attitudes, values and relationships, rather than a set of required practices. This paper will draw on the literature to suggest what ‘learner-centred leadership’ could look like. It will present data from interviews and observations gathered during a two-day visit to each of six schools to explore head teachers’ leadership of innovation. A purposive sample of schools was chosen, based on their successful engagement with ZEST as evidenced through new ways of working, new attitudes to learners, and the successful use of technology. // The presentation will provide case studies of successful school leaders and will highlight what it means to innovate, identifying key drivers and constraints in the Zambian context. The findings will be relevant to others working on the continent.

Resumen
Trade liberalization is one of the greatest economic arguments of the economics and it is claimed that trade openness is a crucial phenomenon for the well-being of nations since Adam Smith. Although various practices have been seen in different parts of the world in the history, from 1980s trade liberalization movements have been the dominant trend. However liberalization of trade in developing countries brought debates in economic literature and it is argued that open trade can have catastrophic effects instead of providing growth and welfare to the practitioner countries. In this study if The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization had contributed the member states to liberalize their trade has been investigated. The changes in the rates of inward and outward investment, import, export, population and labour force of the member countries during the establishment period of the Organization has been evaluated. The data is collected from Worldbank National Accounts Database, IMF World Economic Outlook and Balance of Payments Database and UNCTAD. The results of the study has shown that although the establishment of the organization had positive effect on investment and trade flows of the countries, it had no effect on labour flows of the member states.

Resumen
Cashless payments have become increasingly popular around the world because of their numerous advantages. More so, the cashless payment adoption has been escalated during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, there is a lack of holistic studies on the adoption and contemporary practices of cashless payments. The purpose of this study is, therefore, to provide a comprehensive understanding by identifying the participating actors and their crucial role in the payment ecosystem. Thus, the paper aims to address two research questions: i) Who are the participating actors in the cashless payment ecosystem? and ii) What are the determinant factors for the actors to adopt the cashless payment ecosystem? Through scoping literature review of 63 articles published in the last seven years (2015-2021), six participating ecosystem actors are identified with their determinant factors. The study contributes towards addressing adoption issues and serves as a basis for future empirical investigation.

Resumen
This article describes and analyses issues related to modelling of human factor in the transport of hazardous materials. Due to its complexity, a human being constitutes an element parameterization of which encounters numerous difficulties. In the literature various attempts of human actions’ modelling have been presented. Authors of the article have used heuristic techniques – particularly, fuzzy set methods – in order to build a model of human factor for the purposes of their work. This model defines human actions by text description, that is, linguistically. The specificity of fuzzy sets allows the “precision” of human actions’ description to be “naturally” limited. The model has been built upon proprietary expert-based surveys, enabling selection of specific features, influencing driver’s efficiency, with their corresponding fuzzy sets. The model’s initial parameter is λL – intensity of accidents caused by driver’s mistake. The parameter has been created for the purposes of the proprietary risk assessment model in the road transportation of hazardous materials. Driving mistakes can significantly increase the risk of accidents. This heuristic model has been used to prepare a simulation of the influence of selected features on the driving safety.

Roberts, Tony y Kevin Hernandez. Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition: A Literature Review and Proposed Conceptual Framework. Institute of Development Studies (IDS), enero de 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.19088/ids.2021.018.

Texto completo
Resumen
This paper begins by locating the Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition project (GODAN) in the context of wider debates in the open data movement by first reviewing the literature on open data and open data for agriculture and nutrition (ODAN). The review identifies a number of important gaps and limitations in the existing literature. There has been no independent evaluation of who most benefits or who is being left behind regarding ODAN. There has been no independent evaluation of gender or diversity in ODAN or of the development outcomes or impacts of ODAN. The existing research on ODAN is over-reliant on key open data organisations and open data insiders who produce most of the research. This creates bias in the data and analysis. The authors recommend that these gaps are addressed in future research. The paper contributes a novel conceptual ‘SCOTA’ framework for analysing the barriers to and drivers of open data adoption, which could be readily applied in other domains. Using this framework to review the existing literature highlights the fact that ODAN research and practice has been predominantly supply-side focused on the production of open data. The authors argue that if open data is to ‘leave no one behind’, greater attention now needs to be paid to understanding the demand-side of the equation and the role of intermediaries. The paper argues that there is a compelling need to improve the participation of women, people living with disabilities, and other marginalised groups in all aspects of open data for agriculture and nutrition. The authors see a need for further research and action to enhance the capabilities of marginalised people to make effective use of open data. The paper concludes with the recommendation that an independent strategic review of open data in agriculture and nutrition is overdue. Such a review should encompass the structural factors shaping the process of ODAN; include a focus on the intermediary and demand-side processes; and identify who benefits and who is being left behind.
