Resumen
The article substantiates the relevance of the introduction of the artistic component in the training of future technology teachers; attention is paid to clarifying the role of art education in the training of future teachers. It is established that the future teacher in the field of technological education must have professional competencies that increase the effectiveness of the design and technological activities, namely competencies in drawing and composition, basics of color, art history and costume history, understanding of artistic styles, have artistic and graphic competencies, etc. It is necessary to form these competencies in future technology teachers from the first years of study in higher education institutions, namely, to include in the curriculum special (elective) disciplines that can enrich students with theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in fine and decorative arts, design and design graphics. Emphasis is placed on the expediency of introducing art disciplines in the process of training specialists in the field of technological education and proving the need for readiness of technology teachers to implement the artistic component. The application of educational material of artistic direction in the process of designing and manufacturing clothes is analyzed, and the advantages of students’ use of professional competencies in the process of developing clothing models at different stages of design are revealed. The introduction of a selective course “Fundamentals of Drawing and Composition” is proposed and its effectiveness in the implementation of creative projects in sewing. It is established that the introduction of art education in the training of future technology teachers creates opportunities to bring the latter to a qualitatively new, modern level of education. Keywords: art; professional competencies; technological education; future technology teachers; design and technological activities; clothing design.

Resumen
Using a frame harmonizing based approach, this paper examines paper defects. In the textiles industry, the quick cutting and sewing of fabric has resulted in a lot of small mistakes, making this task extremely difficult. Especially these deformities won't be quickly recognized by specialists as well as programming. A novel frame harmonizing method is used in our system to find flaws in the fabric production process. Transformation and filtering techniques are used for the inputted fabric image frame. The conventional outline extraction method Berkeley edge detector is used to extract the edge map. Contour-based features are extracted and classified by K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN) classifier. The experimentation with real-time data set produced the outstanding performance results when compared with state of the art methods.

Resumen
Abstract A fabric fault detection scheme is implemented in this work using frame harmonizing-based approach. Many recent research works deliver the fabric defect detection techniques. But in the textiles industry, the fast process of fabric cutting and sewing, lots of auxiliary imperfections have emerged. Particularly these defects cannot be identified easily by experts as well as an automated system. In our system, a novel frame extraction technique is used to find the defects in the fabric production pipeline. The input fabric image frame is pre-processed by transformation and filtering techniques. In this work,a novel multi-directional and multi-scale outline extraction method is proposed to extract the edge map. Contour-based features are extracted and classified by K-nearest neighbor classifier. The experimentation with real-time dataset produced the outstanding performance results when compared with state of the art methods.

Resumen
We present a dual adaptive garment slice adjustment technique for automatic resizing of apparel products with variant body shapes, and this technique can quickly generate clothed characters. Our first contribution is to propose a novel fit evaluation method. When a 2D garment pattern and a 3D draped garment have the same triangle topology connection, we calculate the shape variable of each triangle and output heat map simultaneously. For sewing a pattern to a newly targeted human body, we propose a fully automatic adjustment method that conforms to the body structure and is composed of two stages. In the coarse auto adjustment (CAA) stage, we propose a method of controlling the size of a garment by the length of a bounding box in five parts of the human body. Then, the garment pattern is automatically adjusted using the measured dimension, by stretching or shrinking. In the fine auto adjustment (FAA) stage, boundary vertices control the shape in the adjustment process. For better matching with the body, the vertices of the garment pattern boundary are relocated with the calculated moving distance and moving direction. As demonstrated in the results, our method enables fully automatic adjustment, preserving the original pattern style of garments between characters with vastly body shapes. Compared with the state-of-art 2D editing method, our proposed approach leads to time saving, and it achieves realistic garment effect compared to auto fitting methods.

Resumen
Forming one of the most important branches of our culture and traditional arts, embroidery was born by sewing in a decorative way and it is worth mentioning that it is as early as humanity. Embroidered clothing on the sculptures excavated and the narration that the daughter of Noah in Hebrew history wears an embroidered belt shows that this branch of art goes back to earlier times. Hand embroidery, which is the products of intelligence, skill and subtle wit, has reached the current time by preserving its value. Out of a great many embroidery techniques reaching large public masses, a technique called ‘German Embroidery’ was encountered in the researches carried out in the city of Kahramanmaras and its towns in the years 2013–2014. According to the information obtained from the source people in the research carried out in the city of Kahramanmaras, German Embroidery dating back to earlier times is not produced today; however, we are likely to find pillows, clothes and dresses embroidered with German Embroidery in houses. In the current paper, embroidery samples were determined in order to unveil this technique that was embroidered on any kind of cloth with a plain surface and it was aimed to make the embroidery alive and to promote it by analysing the way of embroidering. Resumen
Various sewing activities are an appropriate step in improving children's fine motor skills, because they are used to express themselves. To produce interesting stitches really helps develop a child's imagination in improving their fine motor skills. PAUD Al-Quran Az-Zahra Banyurip Alit Pekalongan City on fine motor activities failed in various sewing materials, this can be seen from the work of children with a total of 20 children who got good grades only 5 children, only 4 children, and less than 11 children. The problem is the lack of physical fine motor skills of children in various sewing activities. This is because the media used is less varied so that children feel bored. So we need an active learning method using various media. The aim of this research is to improve children's fine motor skills in sewing with various media. The benefits are expected to contribute to the development of science. In carrying out the improvement of learning through two cycles. The results of observations and research in the second cycle increased more than the previous cycle. The results of the previous comparison had a success rate of only 45%, the first cycle was 65%, the second cycle reached a 95% success rate. So it can be concluded that sewing activities have a positive impact on fine motor development and can improve children's ability to sew with various media.

Resumen
The resurgence of home-sewing has led to renewed academic interest in the area. Current research has found that home-sewing is a substitute for purchasing ill-fitting, poor-quality and unsustainable fast fashion. Home-sewers report that they find the practice a creative leisure activity and that home-sewing is an empowering activity. What has been less examined are reasons why sewers make historical clothing, as opposed to making modern designs. This article examines home-sewing via the lens of historical material culture. That is, is seeks to understand the reasons why people sew and wear anachronistic clothing. It does so via an international survey of over 200 participants. A range of complex social and historical factors emerge in this research, which posit that there exist broad cultural phenomena to explain this contemporary trend. Of the recent research conducted into the reasons and motivations of home-sewers, the focus is on the sewing of contemporary clothing. Conversely, this research examines the motivations for sewing and wearing anachronistic clothing. Leading home dressmaking pattern company Simplicity claims that for many home-sewers it is vintage patterns that lead them to undertake home-sewing. This suggests that there are different types of home dressmakers who are motivated by considerations beyond that uncovered by previous research.

Resumen
There are two inter-related parts to the hypothesis explored in this research. The first is that it is significant to employ fabric as a medium in a fine art context, and the second aspect argues that female artists who choose fabric as their medium should be recognised as 'artists' rather than as crafts practitioners. I propose that in choosing fabric as a medium and sewing as my method of making art, I am working within the framework of contemporary fine art practice. In his essay 'To Cut is to Think' Germano Celant succinctly described the 'cut' made by artists who choose cutting as their process: The cut of the scissor is like the click of a camera or the whirr of a movie camera, like a stroke of the pencil or paintbrush: all these acts decisively isolate a form or representation, marking a surface that generates a reality. The cut puts an end to the traditional representation of the image, dissolving it and then restoring it as a testimony to the artist's vision and understanding. In this light, the cut confers meaning, and its use unites artists, photographers, designers and tailors, who cut their visions from the magma of their materials, whether these be colour or bronze, fabric or film, metal or wool, wood or canvas (1996, p. 31). My own use of the cut, as the bespoke tailor, reinterpreted fabric as paint and utilized pinstriped fabric as a visual metaphor for relationships of power, pink satin as a symbol of the female inclusion and Frank Stella's Black Paintings as a tool to position my work. Therefore, I would claim that I am working towards a conceptual repositioning of fabric as a medium in fine art.

Texto completo
Resumen
This thesis is an analysis of ‘militant art’ – a type of art activism that is prepared to break the law, use violence against people (including the artists themselves), property, or incite others to do the same, in order to realise a cause. This thesis considers militant art as a continuation of the expanded field of relational aesthetics fused with a renewed interest in 20th century avant-garde art practices and the organisational structure, politics and tactics of the Global Justice Movement – which I conceptualise as a direct response to a lingering post-political spectacular malaise. Although there has been a surge of recent writing about Socially Engaged Participatory Art practices and, to a lesser extent, art activism, the more militant forms are still under-researched. The thesis is divided into two parts: the first is an art historical, theoretical and political analysis; the second uses qualitative research methods to verify and interrogate claims made in the first. A series of ten interviews with contemporary artists (and collectives) and an ethnographical study provide new data on militant art, which are analysed fully in a dedicated chapter. The findings give us insight into the militant artists’ psychology, motivations and tactics providing a description, analysis and definition of hitherto overlooked contemporary practices.

Resumen
The Valencian urban green structure, constitutes the main field of the present paper. Its form, size and distribution over the urban grid, could be easily comparable to other European cities, that grown highly on the XIX and XX Century behind a medieval wall. In a first stage, in 1884 with the “Primer Ensanche” by Calvo, Ferreres and Arnau, Valencia gets through a process of fine urban sewing, matching both urban structures, medieval one with the new square blocks, based on the Paris of the Haussmann, example that really helped to integrate such a different urban behavior. Thus, small green spaces appear rarely around those new neighborhoods and districts, usually on the lost urban spaces where the building blocks were more difficult to be built. When the second stage of the Valencian urban sprawl comes through, with the “El Segundo Ensanche de Valencia” (1924, Francisco Mora) the main structure was the square blocks with inner patios with its typical cross chamfer. As a result, Valencia sprawl achieves their principal urban troubles, such as overcrowding, sanitation and restructuring. Moreover, it made those goals using the most efficient and sustainable urban model because of its compactness. However, urban changes forgive one of the most demanded spaces by its citizens nowadays, the green structure, car and its roadway where first over the green spaces. This paper analyzes how green spaces are inside the square blocks greed in Valencia “El Ensanche”, and tries to include some alternatives to improve its lack of green infrastructure. Keywords Valencia, El Ensanche, Green structure, urban compactness
