Resumen
Abstract. This study deals with the effects of the diagnostic setting on the performance in intelligence tests. We conducted a meta-analysis in which k = 30 samples with a total sample size of N = 2,448 were integrated. We compared results for the same intelligence tests administered either in a group or in an individual setting. The main analysis indicated a small mean population effect [ M( g) = 0.085] that was not significant [−0.036 ≤ M( g) ≤ 0.206]. Nevertheless, moderator analyses indicated a stronger [ M( g) = 0.193] and significant [0.087 ≤ M( g) ≤ 0.298] effect in favor of individual settings for studies employing a between-person design. Setting effects in within-person designs were most likely superimposed by retest effects. As the setting effect was very small, the current testing practice in which results obtained in group and individual settings are treated as interchangeable is not overly problematic. However, our results encourage test developers to examine setting effects before stating that results obtained in different settings are equivalent. Between-person designs using participants of comparable ability are most suitable in this context as retest effects can be ruled out.

Resumen
ABSTRACTTwelve children (five boys and seven girls, mean age 4;1) interacted with their mothers in two conversational settings: playing with a favourite toy and helping to prepare lunch or muffins. The percentage of two topic continuation processes – topic incorporation and collaboration – used by mothers and children was analysed. It was hypothesized that the help setting with a predetermined structure would elicit a greater percentage of topic incorporation by the dyads than the play setting. In fact, the play setting elicited a greater percentage of topic incorporation from mothers than the help setting. Children did not differ significantly in the percentage of use of topic incorporation between the two settings, but appeared to be equally proficient in incorporating topics in settings with and without a predetermined structure. The play setting also elicited more topic collaboration from the children than the help setting. While the help setting appeared to support collaborative action, the play setting permitted the dyads to be informative about the toys as well as related topics. Therefore, the two settings provided different opportunities for the dyads to continue topics.

Resumen
For a long time, settings complexity makes the settings remote modification technology is difficult to be applied on the relay protective devices effectively. To solve the key technical problems of relay protective devices settings remote modification, this paper makes an in-depth research of setting group remote control model. The setting group remote control model based on protective relaying and fault information system is proposed with the setting group services mapping between IEC61850 and IEC60870-5-103. The setting group remote control models working mechanism is deeply analysed via the setting group views. Base on the analysis, an enhanced control flow and task block method are provided to avoid the edit setting group data being changed abnormally, which improves the reliability of setting group remote control remarkably. The setting group remote control model introduced in this paper is applied successfully and its reliability is approved.
