Resumen
A cadeia leiteira em Palmas, Tocantins, é relevante socialmente e possui lacunas que pedem intervenção, como a alta informalidade. O propósito deste estudo foi elencar certificações que promovam a ascensão de produtores de leite para melhores posições dentro da cadeia global de valor do leite no município de Palmas. O estudo consistiu em entrevistas a 58 atores da cadeia leiteira de Palmas em outubro de 2019. A estrutura teórica adotada foi a cadeia global de valor, focando na dimensão upgrading, que considera as diferentes possibilidades de melhoria da posição dos atores na cadeia de valor. Verificou-se uma alta informalidade entre os produtores entrevistados (77,5%), sendo que apenas 10% comercializam formalmente a produção láctea e 5% possuem Selo Artesanal. Foi verificado interesse na formalização, embora a assimetria de informação e poder sejam barreiras significativas. Certificações como S.I.M., S.I.E., Selo Artesanal, Produto Orgânico e leite A2 constituem em caminhos para upgrading, agregando maior valor aos produtos e segurança financeira ao produtor. A conquista de certificações depende de aspectos que envolvem não apenas os atores da cadeia mas também o Poder Público.

Background: Time spent in sedentary behaviors, independent of physical activity levels, is a risk factor for chronic diseases and all-cause mortality. It is unknown whether physically active adults alter their dietary and/or physical activity behaviors in response to imposed sedentary time. The aim of this study was to determine whether imposing 10 hours of sedentary time per week for 8 weeks would alter physical activity and/or dietary profiles of physically active adults. Methods: Sixteen physically active, healthy young adults were randomized into either the no-intervention control (CON) group (n=8) or the sedentary-intervention (SIT) group (n=8). SIT participants attended monitored sedentary sessions for 10 hours per week (4 days; 2.5 hours) for 8 weeks. Assessments occurred at baseline, and weeks 4 and 8. Dietary information was collected through 3-day food records and physical activity was assessed through 7 days of accelerometry (Actical at the wrist). Results: There were no differences in physical activity profiles in SIT or CON groups when baseline and week-8 average (average weeks) were compared to the week-4 assessment. Differences in step counts comparing the average weeks and week 4 were not significantly different between CON and SIT groups (CON = 615.1 ± 3019.1, SIT= -1158.0 ± 3373.0 steps, p=0.287). There were no differences in sedentary (p=0.366), light (p=0.293), moderate (p=0.656) or vigorous (p=0.701) physical activity when average weeks were compared to one of imposed sedentary behavior. A greater number of SIT (4/8) participants had lower step counts during the imposed sedentary week, when compared to CON (1/8) participants. There was no difference (p>0.05) between CON and SIT groups for total calories consumed at any time-point. Caloric intake decreased significantly in the SIT group compared to the CON group (SIT = -27.9 ± 22.8%, CON = 10.0 ± 37.6%, p=0.028). More SIT (7/8) than CON (3/8) participants decreased caloric intake from baseline to 8 weeks (p>0.05). Conclusion: Physically active young adults did not alter physical activity profiles, but did decrease their caloric intake, in response to 8 weeks of imposed sedentary time. These findings may indicate a compensatory mechanism to imposed sitting in physically active adults.

The South African population consists of various cultural and religious groups. Some of the religious minority groups, for example the Hindu's, have their own non-governmental law systems whereby they live daily in the private sphere. South African law does not recognise these religious law systems. The legal position is that marriages conducted according to these religious law systems are invalid. The Durban High Court, earlier this year, held in Singh v Ramparsad that parties married under religious law systems cannot obtain a divorce under South African law. The fact that South African law does not recognise religious marriages poses serious disadvantages to the Hindu wife. A Hindu wife, for example, cannot force her "husband" to support her or to buy household necessities during the existence of their "marriage". The Hindu wife cannot divorce her husband and is therefore further disadvantaged, since she cannot share in the growth of his estate. In such a case the court will also not grant a support and maintenance order in her favour. Due to the fact that the Hindu wife is not recognised as a "spouse" by various legislation she will be further disadvantaged as she cannot inherit from her husband's estate should he come to die. Legislation recognising the Hindu wife as a "spouse" does exist. This legislation makes certain estate planning instruments available to the Hindu wife. However, there are a few instances where the Hindu wife will be disadvantaged due to the fact that she is recognised as a "spouse". Inter vivos and mortis causa estate planning instruments are implemented to prevent any shortfalls in the Hindu wife's estate. Inter vivos estate planning instruments, like investments, insurance, inter vivos trusts, agreements, universal partnerships, agencies and enrichment actions can also be implemented. Tax planning is also necessary. The estate planner, while doing the estate planning for the Hindu wife, must also give attention to mortis causa estate planning instruments to ensure that her assets will dissolve on her beneficiaries in the most effective way and according to her wishes. It is very important that the Hindu wife give careful consideration to the provisions of her will. The will can also be combined and implemented with other estate planning instruments, like for example the mortis causa trust. The Hindu wife can take out life insurance in case that there is going to be a shortfall of cash in her estate or if she wants to bequeath legates to specific persons. The Hindu wife can make use of different estate planning structures in her estate plan if she makes use of usufruct. Massing of estates is not recommended, except where the Hindu couple are co-owners of non-dividable assets. Due to the benefits that the estate planning instruments, like trusts, offer, iideicommissums are not recommended. The fact that the Hindu wife is recognised as a "spouse" plays an important role in tax planning. The estate planner will have to pay attention to the estate duty- and capital gains tax benefits due to the fact that Hindu wife will be regarded as a "spouse". It is important that the planning of the estate does not take place in isolation and that all the above-mentioned estate planning instruments be regarded as a whole. The estate plan must be updated and revised once a year. The estate planner must keep in mind that each person is unique. It is impossible to prescribe a set recipe for estate planning. The estate planner will have to take the background and circumstances of the Hindu wife into consideration when planning her estate.

La regression inverse par tranchage (sliced inverse regression (s. I. R. )) est une methode de regression semiparametrique reposant sur un argument geometrique. Au contraire des autres methodes de regression semiparametrique, elle ne requiert que des temps de calcul informatique tres courts. Dans cette these, apres un panorama de l'etat actuel des travaux sur s. I. R. , nous envisageons deux aspects de cette methode, ainsi qu'une application a l'estimation simplifiee d'un modele de selection. (1) nous developpons une theorie asymptotique basee sur un decoupage non aleatoire en tranches et portant sur la loi asymptotique de la partie parametrique du modele. (2) une extension semiparametrique du modele de selection tobit peut s'interpreter geometriquement dans le cadre de s. I. R. Exploitant cette observation, nous introduisons un estimateur simplifie pour un tel modele, et nous etudions sa convergence en probabilite et en loi. Des simulations, y compris lorsque certaines hypotheses theoriques ne sont pas respectees par les donnees, confirment le bon comportement de notre estimateur. (3) pour le cas d'echantillons de petite taille, l'estimation par tranchage se revele sensible au choix des tranches. Nous proposons deux methodes alternatives a un tranchage particulier fixe par l'utilisateur, l'une est basee sur un argument nonparametrique, et l'autre est basee sur un lissage de plusieurs decoupages en tranches. Nous etablissons diverses proprietes asymptotiques de ces methodes. Nous les comparons aux methodes s. I. R. Existantes par simulations sur des echantillons de 25 et 50 observations. Les methodes que nous proposons se revelent sensiblement meilleures que les methodes anterieures. Nous avons programme l'ensemble des methodes s. I. R. En splus. Dada la necesidad energética del país, las pequeñas centrales hidráulicas de pasada aparecen como una buena alternativa para aumentar la capacidad de generación. Al respecto, este trabajo se enfoca en los costos de conexión de varias centrales hidráulicas de pasada al SIC. En primer lugar, se escoge el estero Coyanco como curso de agua para estudio. Se estima caudal y caída neta, para luego, establecer tres posibles centrales hidráulicas de pasada las cuales suman 20,9 MW en total (Cap. 2). Una vez definida la ubicación geográfica de las centrales, se analiza el sistema eléctrico de 110 kV del sector. Se establecen cuatro opciones de conexión: S/E La Laja, S/E Vizcachas, S/E P. Alto y S/E Florida Se analizan las cuatro opciones de conexión, concluyendo que todas cuentan espacio para ampliaciones y son accesibles de llegar hasta ellas con una línea de transmisión (Cap. 3). Luego, se estudia el impacto en la red eléctrica de la incorporación de las tres centrales al SIC, encontrando que la inyección de 20,9 MW no provoca la saturación de las líneas en ninguna de las cuatro opciones de conexión y no produce cambios en la regulación de tensión en las barras de 110 kV de las cuatro subestaciones. Además, el incremento de las corrientes de CC no indica necesidad alguna de cambios en los equipos de las subestaciones existentes. Por lo tanto, las cuatro opciones son técnicamente factibles (Cap. 4). A continuación, se diseñan tres componentes principales: patio de elevación, línea de transmisión y paño(s) de línea para la acometida al STT (Cap. 5). Con este diseño, se estima el valor de inversión (V.I.) de la conexión para cada una de las cuatro opciones de conexión, resultando S/E La Laja la más conveniente.

El uso de los Sistemas de Información Geográfica y, mediante la utilización del software "ARC/INFO", combinado con algunos programas para procesar estadísticamente los datos, permite realizar un "Análisis Exploratorio de los Datos" (A.E.D.) sobre los Suelos de la Región Zuliana para resaltar importantes atributos y rescatar las estructuras que permanecen en las bases de datos, de índole descriptivo, que expresan realidades estadísticas no ilustradas frecuentemente al aplicar un S.I.G. y de lo cual se quejan los usuarios. Con los datos de suelos, a nivel de Órdenes, se obtiene la lista de valores, tabla de frecuencias, representaciones gráficas, medidas de tendencia central y resumen numérico, para su análisis e interpretación, evidenciándose una dispersión de los polígonos de suelos según su Orden en toda la Región Zuliana y su concentración en pequeños polígonos según su tamaño.

La tesi verte sull’ integrazione lavorativa delle persone affette dalla Sindrome dello Spettro Autistico all’ interno della Regione Veneto. In particolare, tramite interviste agli operatori e alle operatrici del Servizio Integrazione Lavorativa (S.I.L.) e alle associazioni che si occupano di autismo, ho avuto modo di indagare come tale inserimento si concretizza nella provincia di Venezia, più nello specifico nella città di Mestre. L’obiettivo della ricerca è stato quello di analizzare il fenomeno dal punto di vista non solo di coloro che lavorano a contatto con queste situazioni ma anche delle famiglie che le vivono in prima persona.

Resumen
I gas interstiziali presenti nel sottosuolo possono essere composti da gas atmosferici, vapor d'acqua, metano e vari composti organici volatili di origine antropica. Quest'ultimi, se presenti nelle acque di falda contaminate, trasferendosi in fase gassosa, possono raggiungere la superficie ed aumentano nell'aria ambiente la contaminazione da VOCs. Lo scopo della tesi è studiare il monitoraggio della composizione del Soil-gas e valutarne la variabilità giornaliera, determinando quale sia il momento ottimale per un campionamento rappresentativo di un'esposizione a lungo termine. Ciò ha un interesse pratico in relazione alla gestione dei siti contaminati da VOCs, poichè le misure del Soil-gas possono essere di supporto ad altre tecniche di indagine secondo un approccio basato su linee di evidenza multiple, oppure possono essere utilizzate nell'Analisi di Rischio, per verificare i risultati ottenuti tramite i modelli di trasporto riguardanti la via di esposizione per inalazione di vapori outdoor. Il lavoro svolto si inserisce nell'ambito del progetto europeo Greener Sites, Enviromental Rehabilitation of Brownfield Sites in Central Europe, che ha come fine la riqualificazione di siti industriali dismessi. Si sono eseguite cinque campagne di monitoraggio nell'arco di un anno e in ognuna le misure sono state prese in tre momenti diversi della giornata, prevedendo il campionamento del Soil-gas in modalità attiva e con camera di flusso. Contemporaneamente è stato condotto il campionamento dell'aria ambiente utilizzando canister in acciaio e sono stati utilizzati strumenti automatici da campo come PID, Gas Analyzer e GC/MS portatile. Infine, un'analisi statistica multivariata di base è stata eseguita per capire la correlazione con le variazioni delle condizioni meteo-climatiche.

Resumen
Este artigo tem como objetivo avaliar as principais causas de condenação de frangos de corte observadas numa visita técnica, de cunho educacional, em um abatedouro registrado no Serviço de Inspeção Municipal (S.I.M /SLZ), localizado na São Luís – MA. Foram observadas as principais condenações, ocorridas no momento da visita técnica. Diversos fatores influenciam as causas de condenação, tais como manejo pré-abate, transporte e ordem de processos de abate. As condenações são recorrentes durante o abate de aves, sejam elas causadas pelas máquinas utilizadas, manejo das aves ou pela forma de refrigeração. As principais causas de condenações observadas momento da visita foram hematomas nas asas e contusão no peito. Concluiu-se que as principais causas da condenação de carcaça foram por lesões causadas no abate e no transporte da ave até o abatedouro. Os impasses da condenação podem ser evitados pelo treinamento constante dos funcionários e a manutenção dos equipamentos, diminuindo assim as perdas das carcaças lesionadas. Resumen
This chapter describes how to estimate, by probabilistic approaches, triplet and quartet invariants from diffraction magnitudes. We will skip quintet (Fortier and Hauptman, 1977a,b,c; Hauptman and Fortier, 1977a,b; Van der Putten and Schenk, 1977; Giacovazzo, 1977b, 1980; Burla et al., 1977) and higher-order s.i.s, because their usefulness in modern phasing procedures is entirely marginal. For simplicity, we will also skip the mathematics necessary to obtain conclusive formulas (the general approach is described in Appendix 4.A), except for the triplet invariants, first representation, because of their prominent role. Triplet and quartet estimates will be discussed, particularly in relation to their impact on phasing procedures. For simplicity, some other specialized topics will also be skipped, even if theoretically relevant. For example: results obtained by Shmueli and Weiss (1986, 1992), who used Fourier series representations of joint probability density functions to estimate triplets; the effect of pseudotranslational symmetry on the triplet phase estimates, as described by Cascarano et al. (1985a,b, 1987b, 1988a,b); algebraic formulas obtained by Karle and Hauptman (1957), Vaughan (1958), Hauptman et al. (1969), Hauptman (1970), Fischer et al. (1970a,b), all related to (and encompassed by) the estimation of triplet phases via their second representation. Interested readers are referred to the original papers. Let us first consider the space group P1. According to Chapter 4, the simplest way to estimate the triplet s.i. . . . Φ = φh1 + φh2 + φh3 with h1 + h2 + h3 = 0 (5.1) . . . is to study the joint probability distribution . . . P(Eh1 , Eh2 , Eh3 ) ≡ P(Rh1 , Rh2 , Rh3 , φh1 , φh2 , φh3 ). (5.2) . . . The title of this chapter may seem a little strange; it relates Fourier syntheses, an algebraic method for calculating electron densities, to the joint probability distribution functions of structure factors, which are devoted to the probabilistic estimate of s.i.s and s.s.s. We will see that the two topics are strictly related, and that optimization of the Fourier syntheses requires previous knowledge and the use of joint probability distributions. The distributions used in Chapters 4 to 6 are able to estimate s.i. or s.s. by exploiting the information contained in the experimental diffraction moduli of the target structure (the structure one wants to phase). An important tool for such distributions are the theories of neighbourhoods and of representations, which allow us to arrange, for each invariant or seminvariant Φ, the set of amplitudes in a sequence of shells, each contained within the subsequent shell, with the property that any s.i. or s.s. may be estimated via the magnitudes constituting any shell. The resulting conditional distributions were of the type, . . . P(Φ| {R}), (7.1) . . . where {R} represents the chosen phasing shell for the observed magnitudes. The more information contained within the set of observed moduli {R}, the better will be the Φ estimate. By definition, conditional distributions (7.1) cannot change during the phasing process because prior information (i.e. the observed moduli) does not change; equation (7.1) maintains the same identical algebraic form. However, during any phasing process, various model structures progressively become available, with different degrees of correlation with the target structure. Such models are a source of supplementary information (e.g. the current model phases) which, in principle, can be exploited during the phasing procedure. If this observation is accepted, the method of joint probability distribution, as described so far, should be suitably modified. In a symbolic way, we should look for deriving conditional distributions . . . P (Φ| {R}, {Rp}) , (7.2) . . . rather than (7.1), where {Rp} represents a suitable subset of the amplitudes of the model structure factors. Such an approach modifies the traditional phasing strategy described in the preceding chapters; indeed, the set {Rp} will change during the phasing process in conjunction with the model changes, which will continuously modify the probabilities (7.2).

Abstract Experimental studies have been carried out for investigating engine performance parameters, cylinder pressure, emissions and engine thermal balance of spark ignition engine (S.I.E.) using either gasoline or Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) as a fuel at maximum brake torque (MBT) ignition timing. MBT ignition timing for LPG is found to be 2 to 10 degrees crank angle more advance than for gasoline. Maximum cylinder pressure locations for gasoline and LPG are shifted towards top dead center (TDC) with increase engine speed. At low engine speed, maximum cylinder pressure for gasoline fuel is higher than for LPG fuel. At high engine speeds maximum cylinder pressure for LPG is nearly the same as for gasoline. Maximum pressure for ignition timing 35 crank angle (CA) before top dead center (BTDC) is greater than for 45 and 25 CA respectively. Engine produces more brake power with gasoline than with LPG. Engine brake thermal efficiency (ηbth) and volumetric efficiency (ηv) with LPG is less than for gasoline. When S.I.E converted from gasoline to LPG the loss in maximum power is nearly 14% and the loss in maximum efficiency is nearly 8%. UHC and CO concentrations for LPG are nearly one-tenth of that produced by gasoline at the same ignition timing and the same engine speed. For low engine speed exhaust and oil temperatures for gasoline and LPG increase with increase engine speed but for high engine speed exhaust and oil temperature decreases with increase engine speed. For gasoline and LPG cooling water temperature decreases with increase engine speed. Lubricating oil and cooling water temperatures for gasoline and LPG increase with increase ignition timing BTDC but exhaust gas temperature decreases with increase ignition timing. LPG has higher exhausted gas temperature than gasoline but gasoline has higher oil temperature than LPG. At different ignition timing exhaust loss for LPG is greater than for gasoline but cooling water loss for gasoline is greater than for LPG.

Resumen
Abstract The current work emphasizes on hybridization of the cylindrical curved crease origami structure with high energy absorbing state-of-the-art cellular lattices mainly, the plate, truss, and hourglass lattices, with a motive to enhance the energy absorption capability of the structure. A novel non-hybridized curved crease cylindrical origami namely star curved and three of its hybridized counterparts, star curved plate (S.C.P), star curved truss (S.C.T) and star curved hourglass (S.C.HG) are proposed in the paper and the effect of hybridization on the energy absorption properties was investigated. Additionally, the deteriorating effect of moisture on the mechanical properties and energy absorption characteristics was emphasized and it was observed that the dried samples outperformed the as-fabricated samples. The structures were designed with the help of CAD software and fabricated via fused filament fabrication (FFF) due to its capability of providing geometrical flexibility and precise control of micro architecture and dimensions using Nylon polymer. The structures were later tested on an Instron compression testing machine to obtain the force-displacement data for further processing. The results substantiate the validity of the hybridization approach as the specific energy absorption of the non-hybridized structure was enhanced from 4 kJ/kg to 6.6 kJ/kg. Moreover, the mechanical properties like peak strength and elastic modulus were remarkably improved from 1.3MPa to 6.5 MPa and 41 MPa to 290MPa respectively. The proposed approach leads to an increase in possibilities for improving the origami-inspired structures in terms of specific energy absorption for situation-specific applications and when incorporated into sandwich panels, the performance of these structures can further be explored.
