Este artículo se ocupa de la agencia editorial, intelectual y social que tuvo Elvira Santa Cruz Ossa, quien -bajo el seudónimo de Roxane- consolidó una de las acciones más significativas durante la primera mitad del siglo XX: afianzar los vínculos entre el desarrollo del editorialismo infantil, el posicionamiento intelectual y crítico desde el trabajo literario y la acción concreta en beneficio de las comunidades desprotegidas en el Chile moderno. Su agencia se hace observable en dos líneas: su autoconstrucción como una ‘presencia de papel’ respaldada en su trabajo editorial, y la superación de los límites del papel hacia el campo social en donde ejerció desde sus distintas formas de subjetividad: la editora, la intelectual, la maestra y la madre, todas ellas permitieron a Roxane trazar el ‘corral’ (Montes) para la infancia chilena que fuera a su vez de protección y de apertura cultural.

Resumen
PURPOSE This study was conducted to compare the relative analgesic efficacy and safety of an every-4-hour immediate-release oral morphine (IRM) solution with that of an every-12-hour sustained-release oral morphine (SRM) formulation. PATIENTS AND METHODS This was a double-blind, placebo-blinded, crossover study in 34 adult male and female outpatients with pain due to advanced cancer. Baseline data were collected on day 1. On days 2 and 3, randomly assigned patients received either placebo plus IRM (Roxanol; Roxane Laboratories, Inc, Columbus, OH; 20 mg/mL) at 2, 6, and 10 am, and 2, 6, and 10 pm, or alternatively SRM (Oramorph SR; Roxane Laboratories, Inc; 30 mg) at 10 AM and 10 PM. Patients were then crossed over to the alternate treatment for days 4 through 6. Pain relief was measured using a conventional 100-mm visual analog scale (VAS) and by recording the incidence of breakthrough pain. Information on side effects was obtained from VAS scores for sedation, nausea, anxiety, and depression; by directly questioning the patient as to mental confusion, bowel movements, and laxative use; and from Karnofsky performance status scores. VAS data were analyzed using a linear statistical model. Breakthrough pain data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). RESULTS There were no statistically significant differences between IRM and SRM treatments with respect to VAS pain scores, side effect scores, or incidence of breakthrough pain data. Karnofsky performance scores remained stable for all patients throughout the study. CONCLUSION It was concluded that every-12-hour administration of SRM and every-4-hour administration of IRM provide similar analgesic effectiveness and side effect profiles in the treatment of chronic pain in cancer patients.

In her book, ‘Bad Feminist’, Roxane Gay claims this label shamelessly, embracing the contradictory aspects of enacting feminist practice while fundamentally being ‘flawed human[s]’. This article tells a story inspired by and enacting Roxane Gay’s approach in academia, written by five cis-gendered women geographers. It is the story of a proactive, everyday feminist initiative to survive as women in an academic precariat fuelled by globalised, neoliberalised higher education. We reflect on what it means to be (bad) feminists in that context, and how we respond as academics. We share experiences of an online space used to support one another through post-doctoral life, a simple message thread, which has established an important role in our development as academics and feminists. This article, written through online collaboration, mirrors and enacts processes fundamental to our online network, demonstrating the significance and potential of safe digital spaces for peer support. Excerpts from the chat reflect critically on struggles and solutions we have co-developed. Through this, we celebrate and validate a strategy we know that we and others like us find invaluable for our wellbeing and survival. Finally, we reflect on the inherent limitations of exclusive online networks as tools for feminist resistance.

This article proposes an analysis of the representation of exile inscribed in three symbolic spaces: that of language, that of the female body and that of text. Resumen
This article explores Haitian American writer Roxane Gay’s An Untamed State (2014) as a novel that represents our intricate and rhizomatic transmodern era. In order to prove this contention, it focuses on the novel’s amalgamation of different literary genres and modes from previous cultural paradigms—namely, the postmodern fairy-tale retelling and the social realist novel—with Euro-American as well as Haitian/Caribbean literary and sociocultural elements. The result of this mélange is a complex narrative of multiple interconnections that offers a nuanced portrait of new millennium Haitian diasporas and locals, and that most especially, recuperates subaltern Haitian voices so as to denounce the “untamed state” of the country. The article concludes by arguing that Gay’s hybrid and relational text effaces an either/or episteme which, although considerably used in Western and postcolonial theories for a while, has now become obsolete and inoperative in such a globalised and entangled world.

Drawing on a postcolonialised approach to the traditional trauma paradigm, this paper analyses Roxane Gay’s novel An Untamed State as a trauma narrative which does not solely revolve around the Haitian American protagonist’s Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder ensuing her abduction and violation in Port-au-Prince, as suggested by previous critical work. Particularly, it aims to demonstrate that Gay’s heroine is a resilient survivor of both a rape-related trauma and the traumatic blow to her partly Haitian identity caused by her direct contact with Haiti’s social and gender issues. Lastly, the essay examines how the novel delves into the unresolved cultural traumas derived from the effects of (post)colonialism in Haiti, which push the protagonist’s victimisers to commit such terrible acts.

O desdobramento das tecnologias tem acarretado transformações na sociedade atual e, desta forma, uma evolução e uma mudança nas formas de conhecer e se relacionar na sociedade contemporânea. Este estudo analisa as questões que envolvem o Multiletramento em escolas públicas periféricas e centrais do Município de Sinop. Tem por base teórica a revisão da literatura cientifica dos autores Roxane Rojo e Eduardo Moura, Emília Ferreiro e Ana Teberosky, Paulo Freire e Magda Soares. Para isso, realizou-se observações no campo escolar e aplicação de questionários. Como resultado percebe-se a carência de informações sobre o referido tema, o que acarreta praticas pedagógicas obsoletas. Palavras-chave: multiletramentos; novas tecnologias; alfabetização.

Resumen
Este artigo tem como objetivo fazer uma breve reflexão sobre o uso das redessociais como ferramenta no ensino de língua portuguesa com o intuito demelhorar o processo de ensino/aprendizagem. A primeira parte volta-se para ametodologia usada para desenvolver este artigo e os conceitos que rodeiamessa temática como letramento, letramento digital e multiletramentos. Osconceitos são embasados em teóricos como Magda Soares (2008), Buzato(2006), Tfouni (2004) e Roxane Rojo (2012). Posteriormente serãoapresentadas as abordagens dos PCN’s e da BNCC sobre os novosletramentos, os digitais, mais especificamente, e serão apresentados algunsperfis em redes socias que trabalham com esse intuito, contribuir para o ensinoe aprendizado de língua portuguesa nas redes sociais.

Resumen
Este artigo apresenta parte da pesquisa, ainda em andamento sobre os eventos e as práticas de letramentos no grupo de samba de roda Pisadinha do Pé Firme. Tem como objetivo relacionar as práticas de letramento existentes no grupo de samba de roda Pisadinha do Pé Firme aos letramentos múltiplos, situando essa discussão numa esfera cultural. Para tanto, dialogaremos com dois autores, Roxane Rojo (2009) e Brian Street (2007), os quais enfatizam o conceito de letramentos múltiplos, para explicar o fato de que, no cotidiano, há uma diversidade de práticas culturais e sociais de leitura e escrita. Resumen
Abstract The Nimis Groupe are an international theatre collective made up of six Belgian and six French actors. Roxane Paire interviewed them in 2015 while they were working on a play entitled Ceux que j'ai rencontrés ne m'ont peut-être pas vu (Those that I've met probably did not see me). This piece focused on the legal mechanisms of asylum in the European Union and was performed by actors from the company who performed onstage alongside some of the migrants who had informed the research for the play. This intervention discusses the ethical implications of the European members of the company working alongside migrants who were not at that point legally recognized as citizens.

Resumen
Este artigo apresenta um recorte de pesquisa realizada junto ao projeto intitulado “Formação Crítica de Professores de Língua Portuguesa em Ambientes On-line”, com o objetivo de analisar as práticas de letramento crítico na formação de professores. Referendamos o artigo com os escritos de Roxane Rojo, Dánie Marcelo de Jesus e Divanize Carbonieri entre outros. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa com ênfase nos princípios da pesquisa documental. A formulação do corpus analítico compõe-se das práticas informadas nos excertos de materiais produzidos durante o projeto. Os resultados demonstraram que esta formação se constitui referência para a prática em letramentos críticos, como evidenciou a temática na perspectiva de promover reflexões das realidades da sociedade.
