Resumen
Sufism in the eras of globalization and information often faces considerable challenges. The function and role of religion in modern life have in some aspects diminished, including sufism because it is claimed to have played no or less role in resolving problems nor stimulating social change. As one of Islamic traditions, sufism makes ihsan as its essential teaching. By this concept, sufism encourages humans to pray to God wholeheartedly. Sufism is now required to show its own existence and function by making fundamental contribution for modern life, an era which differ socio-culturally from the one when sufism firstly emerged. Sufism thus needs to adapt itself to the changes in the era of information and globalization so that it will remain relevant and suitable for human progress. Sufism needs to release itself from its exclusivism and to avoid being trapped in its own logic, namely speculative-trancendentalism

Resumen
As in most modern law countries, the State of Indonesia has a regulation regarding guarantees for religious rights and freedoms. This is implied in the constitution of the State of Indonesia, namely the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, precisely in Article 28 E paragraph (1) which reads "Everyone is free to embrace religion and worship according to his religion, choose education and teaching, choose work, choose citizenship, choose a place to live in the territory of the country and leave it, and have the right to return.” Along with regulations related to religious freedom, the State also has a role in guaranteeing its people to be able to embrace their respective religions which has been stated in Article 29 Paragraph (2), namely "The State guarantees the independence of each resident to embrace their respective religions and to worship. according to his religion and belief." Although the guarantee of the right to freedom of religion has been regulated in the constitution of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, in its concretization there are still many obstacles and problems. Talking about the right to freedom of religion, there are interesting things to always talk about and it is hoped that there will be a solution in the future, namely related to acts of violence in the name of religion. Recently, the Indonesian people were shocked by the act of destroying the mosque belonging to the Ahmadiyah congregation by intolerance and radicalism, to be precise, on Friday, September 3, 2021, in Balai Harapan Village, Temunak District, Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan. Seeing the barbaric actions carried out by the intolerant, the government needs firmness in enforcing the law and mediating between the minority and the majority.

In this increasingly modern era with all the technology, there has been a change in the marketing of a food product, especially for the Indonesian people, with this technology making everything in society faster and more efficient, including in terms of food marketing. The existence of this technology has provided marketing opportunities for businesses to trade food products online. The online media that is often used by the public to meet their food needs is through the Gofood application service media. Because it can be a great opportunity to trade food products easily. Resumen
Is such phenomenon as Shadow Economy possible in the Arab (Muslim) countries? In terms of scientific approach as the presence of positive (legal) economy will always have its antipode – the presence of negative (shadow or illegal) economy and no matter which country will have these economic types. Of course, the percentage of legal and shadow economy varies in different countries. At the same time, the volumes of shadow economy are independent of the main religion professed by the population or of the part of the world where the country is situated (countries with Islam as the main religion have a less volume of shadow economy in comparison with countries having Christianity as a predominant religion, and the richest oil countries in the MENA region have bigger volumes of shadow economy than some Western European countries). The causes of shadow economy and the prerequisites of its inception are largely the same by its socio-economic nature. The sources of economical problems lie in the imbalance between limited resources at the disposal of people or a state and in the open-endedness of ever-growing needs of economic agents. It is precisely on these contradictions numerous financial and economic crises appear. It may also be noted that the wish to possess the largest possible quantity of resources leads to the foreignpolicy struggle between countries which results in wars, conflicts, economic sanctions. Recently, the countries of Arab East have been experiencing systemic crisis. Over the past 10 years economic benefits have been redistributed, the map of the region has been redrawn, and moral guidelines of the society have been shifting. This is acutely seen in the events taking place in Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. Islamic financial institutions and markets, which were less of a financial and more of moral and ethical basis of the Arab countries, currently are taking an exam on “stress tests”. Countries devastated by wars, crisis in oil monarchies, unemployment, enormous migration flows, “black market” growing at a geometric rate – can all these humanistic and social guidelines, which Islamic scientists focus on in the relationships between people, people and authorities, people and God, prevail all this? The transformation of shadow economy in the Arab Region sharply has taken place over the past 10 to 15 years, partly due to the interference of Major Powers (statistics on the economy clearly demonstrate that before the events of Arab Spring and military conflicts non-oil-producing Arab countries had an enormous potential of development on key indicators). The middle class, the business community of Arab countries adapts to circumstances arising in today’s realities carrying out its activities in the shadow or quasi-legal sector of the economy. They don’t feel support from the state concerned about issues of the maintenance of stability by introducing tough tax, control and restrictive measures. In this regard probably appropriate phrase: “One does what one must to survive!” Regional Powers fight for their political and economical independence, the population of these Powers live to work and secure any future to themselves and their families. The issues of the shadow economy do not fall within economic relationships, they are relevant to social or spiritual relationships which are transforming in the modern world regardless of the value of taxes collected or level of GDP.

Resumen
The article devoted to the problem of Muslim immigration in France in the 20th century. The focus is on the causes of Muslim immigration, its cycles, specificity and consequences for modern French society. Based on a comparison of various statistical data, it stated that Muslim immigration is an integral part of three large waves of immigration flows that took place from the end of the 19th to the end of the 20th centuries. The article notes the correlation of the number of Muslim immigrants in France with the global numbers of immigrant arrivals to the country. However, if in the first two waves their number depended on the economic needs of the French economy (Muslims came to earn money), then during the third wave other factors came into play — the creation of stable communities, family reunification, going on stage second and third generations of immigrants, social problems of their arrangement and adaptation to French legal norms and customs. The article notes the specificity of the geographical concentration of the Muslim population, which takes place either near large industrial centers and cities (which makes it easier to find work and social protection), or in places of proximity to their native countries (southern France). Special attention paid to the problem of the evolution of state policy in the admission and integration of immigrants, when various methods tired from assimilation, the adoption of quotas to the policy of flexible regulation of immigration and expulsion of illegal immigrants from the country. The article analyzes the position of the Muslim community in France, the role of Muslim associations in its life, the impact on the socio-cultural life of the French. It can stated that Islam has become the second religion in France, which determines its position — a stable presence in socio-economic life (employment, the spread of the social protection system to immigrants), political (the right to vote, the possibility of creating associations, manifestations), religious (the possibility of worship), cultural (the formation of a specific immigrant subculture).

As for the background of the research this is that in the 21st century humanity logically hopes that the spirit Homo Deus will lead them to put more effort into searching for meaning real life. Meanwhile, Artificial Intelligence technology (artificial intelligence) is currently preferred and is even believed to be able to undermine spiritual intelligence human beings, thereby weakening human efforts in finding meaning in life and solving social problems in their environment, such as caring for social change, ignorance, poverty and underdevelopment. The method used in this article is a qualitative method library (study library). Sources of data obtained from the results of literature studies that limited to matters that have relevance to this study. Findings in this research is that modern technology gives mankind most likely obtained a tremendous increase in material life but does not mean at the same time providing a means for improving the quality of humanity. Thus in the future the role of religion will be even greater, especially religion which is seen in its totality, as a way of life, as a giver of meaning to life. Religious teachings such as Islam which should be a guide for its adherents become very important in providing ethical guidance to humans, including in the ethics of the development and use of science and technology. Islam with spiritual teachings, exercises in reviving the human conscience, its absolute values as contained in the Qur'an and Hadith mutawatir, the teachings of humanism, the position of reason which is high in Islam, so that it can lead to a rational interpretation is religion that can meet the needs of mankind in modern times.

The authors deal with the problems of transformation of religion in the information society, in particular, the modification of religious practices updated on the Internet. Digitalization appears in modern society and culture not only as a technical and technological phenomenon, but also as a socio-cultural challenge, which is to be answered by the religious sphere. Under the influence of the global process of digitalization religion, as one of the forms of public consciousness, finds and implements innovative ways of practice. In the structure of these practices, as the authors show in the article, the information and communication element is the most suitable for digitalization. The article reveals the content of the concept of "religious practices" as a continuation of the evolutionary chain of development and transformation of meanings originating in social philosophy: social action – social communication – social practices. The researchers consider the essence of the main provisions of the theory of practices by Theodore Shatsky. The paper reveals the essence of religious practices, describes their features, presents typologies of religious practices on various grounds. The division of social practices into conventional and innovative (according to V. Radaev) as a variant of assessing the prospects and orientation of digitalization in the religious sphere is approved. The phenomenon of digitalization of religious practices is associated with new opportunities to meet the religious needs of the believer. The authors give some examples of digitization of religious practices in foreign religious communities, which demonstrate the capabilities and technological features of this process, reveal its content and likely social consequences. The paper describes the main characteristics of the religious field of modern Belarus, in order to understand the conditions of digitization of religious practices and the presentation of the national and historical specifics of Belarus. The researchers give a brief overview of the representation of religious organizations in Minsk on the Internet (due to the greatest representativeness of religious diversity). They suggest the results of the analysis of the sites of religious communities in Minsk, which make it possible to assess the degree and results of digitization of the religious sphere of Belarus, the readiness of religious organizations to operate in the digital space, the scale of consumption of digital religious products.

Resumen
Islam is the religion of mercy, compassion, convenience, and laxity. Allah does not burden a person beyond his capacity. Ease is the basis of all the commandments of Shari’ah, which is enforced through many instances in the Quran and Sunnah. Hence scholars consider Need and Necessity as formula and secondary sources of Fiqh to save people from travail, difficulty, and trouble. Effects of The Need and The Necessity on the commandments of Shari’ah occupy a wide range. Even some of the commandments relating to faith and prayers also affect the commandments of Shari’ah and become a cause of its modifications. There is no doubt that the Need and the Necessity cannot be included in the basics for commandments of Shari’ah. Although its effectiveness in all versions of fiqh is positively proven. And the evidence of disintegration is present in the ancient and modern problems of fiqh. However the difference lies in textual scripts and their validity, so the concept of the Need and the Necessity is proved by Shariah commandments as exceptional in this condition. Whereas non-textual scripts prove their validity in the commandments of Shariah. The Holy Quran and the Holy Sunnah are evident of their basic principles, however, various religious scholars have described several effects of the Need and the Necessity, on the commandments of Shari’ah.

Resumen
PurposeThis study argues that in order to address the problems associated with the modern market economy at their core, such as persistent poverty, growing inequality and environmental degradation, it is imperative to re-assess the well-being and moral philosophy underpinning economic thinking. The author attempts to offer a preliminary way forward with reference to the Islamic intellectual tradition.Design/methodology/approachThis study employs content analysis of classical and contemporary Islamic texts on human well-being and economic ethics to derive a conceptual well-being model. The paper is structured in four sections: section one provides an overview of relevant secondary literature on moral economic approaches; section two outlines the main well-being frameworks; section three discusses the concept of human well-being in Islam informed by the Islamic worldview of tawḥīd, the Islamic philosophy of saʿādah, and the higher objectives of Islamic Law (maqās.id al-Sharīʿah); and finally, section four discusses policy implications and next steps forward.FindingsA conceptual model of human well-being from an Islamic perspective is developed by integrating philosophical insights of happiness (saʿādah) with an objective list of five essential goods: religion (Dīn), self (Nafs), intellect ('Aql), progeny (Nasl) and wealth (Māl) that correspond to spiritual, physical and psychological, intellectual, familial and social, and material well-being, respectively.Research limitations/implicationsFurther research is needed to translate this conceptual model into a composite well-being index to inform policy and practice.Practical implicationsThis model can be used to review the performance of the Islamic finance sector, not solely in terms of growth and profitability, but in terms of realising human necessities, needs and refinements. It can also provide the basis for the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) countries to jointly develop a well-being index to guide national and regional co-operation. More generally, this study highlights the need for research in Islamic economics to be more firmly rooted within Islamic ontology and epistemology, while simultaneously engaging in productive dialogue with other moral schools of economic thought to offer practical solutions to contemporary challenges.Originality/valueThis study offers three aspects of originality. First, by outlining well-being frameworks, it highlights key differences between the utilitarian understanding of well-being underpinning modern economic theory and virtue-based understandings, such as the Aristotelian, Christian and Islamic approaches. Second, it provides a well-being model from an Islamic perspective by integrating the Islamic worldview of tawḥīd, the Islamic philosophy of saʿādah, and the higher objectives of Islamic Law (maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah). Third, it proposes an ethical framework for informing economic policy and practice.

Resumen
The aim of this paper is to attempt to present challenges faced by the Russian minority residing in Ukraine from the Polish perspective. The presence of national minorities in various countries throughout the world is not an isolated phenomenon. However, looking at problems that they must face shows that national minorities do not have it easy anywhere. Union laws and other national and international regulations on the one hand emphasize care for minorities and their rights. On the other hand, a lot of challenges can be observed that minorities need to address depending on many different factors. This is an important element of cultural security of representatives of individual minorities but also of the cultural security of the majority. The basic issue discussed in the paper is current challenges faced by the largest national minority in Poland’s neighbour. It tries to present both the historical context and the identity determinants associated with language or religion. The Crimea context has also become an important aspect, which is crucial to perceiving the Russian minority in Ukraine. The presented contexts are modern challenges that the Russians in Ukraine need to tackle in the face of cultural security of the state in which they are currently located and their own cultural security. The scholarly novelty of the paper involves looking at the issue of the Russian minority in Ukraine from the Polish perspective. The specific feature of this article consists in a presentation of i.a. an analysis of statistical data and opinions on the Russians residing in Ukraine but seen from the perspective of Poland as their neighbour. Conclusions. The specific situation occurring in Ukraine has shown that Ukraine’s national identity cannot be based on solely ethnic contexts. Ukraine’s identity needs to be looked at from a broader perspective, going deeper into territorial and civil criteria. It is them that determine and will continue to determine Ukraine’s self. The numbers of the Russian minority in Ukraine still impact the latter’s identity. Therefore, it needs to be observed and explored to understand and better shape relations between the majority and the minority. The context of cultural security, the aim of which is to examine the country’s future in the context of its coherent functioning, is also not unimportant.

Resumen
The relevance of the research topic lies in the stereotypical perception of the biblical Old Testament concept of revenge, and its interpretations for modern times. The article examines the conflict as a sociocultural phenomenon. Five interpersonal methods of conflict resolution generally accepted in society have been identified, including withdrawal, concession, struggle, compromise, and cooperation. The results of the study indicate that sometimes it is possible to change the direction of the development of the conflict, simply by looking at it differently. That is why the problem of finding an alternative solution to interpersonal conflicts of the “eye for an eye” principle needs urgent consideration. The research involves finding out what the conflict is in the social plane. The biblical principle “an eye for an eye” and its connotation in the 21st century. is considered as the key to solving problems in individual interpersonal relationships. One of the goals of the study is to illustrate that the principles taught in the Holy Scriptures are still valid today. If people paid more attention to what is written in the Bible, many unnecessary misunderstandings could be avoided. Military, international misunderstandings, unresolved interpersonal issues, etc., are realities of the XXI century. One of the reasons for this is various unresolved interpersonal issues of a social and legal nature. This type of conflict usually leads to suffering, oppression, disrespect, and other negative consequences that spoil the lives of families, states, nations, and the whole world. Conflict situations in the world are not a new phenomenon, since the misunderstanding between God and the cherub Lucifer originated in heaven and was transferred to the earthly world. This conflict is vividly reflected in the pages of the Bible. It is on the pages of the Old Testament that there are controversial situations that at first glance contradict the character of the loving Yahweh. Such controversial passages include the saying recorded in the book of Leviticus 24:20 «an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth». This study is implemented on the example of how different religions, including Protestant Adventism, understand this principle in a modern interpretation. In general, the search for alternatives for the rational resolution of interpersonal conflicts allows us to reflect on the current trends in modern conflict studies.

Resumen
The article attempts to consider the process of formation and evolution of views on the idea of freedom in christian religious and confessional literature. Special attention is paid to the interpretation of this value in the early stages of Christianity. The article emphasizes the importance of the Bible in formulating and justifying the specifics of the presence of freedom in people’s lives, values and evolutions of basic propositions regarding the role and place of this concept in the history of christianity. The main approaches to the interpretation of freedom in the Old and New Testaments are highlighted. The article reveals the peculiarities of understanding this formation by a number of prominent representatives of medieval and modern thought. The subject of the study in the article is the idea of freedom in the context of Christian theological thought. The material for the author’s understanding was the most important, significant religious texts, which formulate key provisions of the Christian understanding of the idea of freedom. The analysis of the works of Christian thinkers suggests that each of them made more or less significant attempts to understand the place and role of the idea of freedom in Christian creed and human life. At the same time, the very idea of freedom does not appear in them as a separate subject of cognitive search, but as an aspect, part, side of a complex set of issues and problems of the functioning of religion and the church. It is justified that: The fathers of the Church and the first Christian authors were actually engaged in the actualization of the idea of freedom in the Christian creed, adapting it to the Christian world understanding. For example, Bible scholars focused on the Bible’s understanding of freedom, which in one way or another manifests itself in the Bible in various places, but requires coordination with the given directions of Bible studies. Theologians understood the idea of freedom and formulated it depending on the doctrinal beliefs that they adhered to. Religious philosophers made attempts to expand their own version of understanding the idea of freedom, adding to the Christian understanding of it one or another segment of meanings, important, in their opinion, overlooked by traditional doctrines. With the strengthening of the status of Christianity, more and more works appeared in the world that are devoted to special studies of the idea of freedom. Philosophers of various eras and schools were engaged in understanding the idea of freedom and its actualization depending on their own ideas and the needs of the era.

Resumen
The article suggests a new meaning of the complex concept of «modern philosophy of religion». The configuration of the thematic framework for the analysis and evaluation of issues of theoretical significance and practical perspectives of the modern philosophy of religion is presented. The paradoxical nature of refined problems in the philosophy of religion is revealed, namely, the variants of the ways of vision expressed in the stylistic features of each author’s approach are generalized. Today, the interfacing of the boundaries of new scientific directions within the framework of philosophy and theology has become relevant. The migration of conceptual structures and the formation of new meanings occurs most intensively in the designated fields of humanitarian knowledge. It is shown that in the modern philosophy of religion, the intersections of theological and philosophical discourses have actualized professional interest and discussions: about the status of «faith» in an individual perspective, about the diversity of cultural contexts and ways of relations between them; about the linguistic matrices of non-referential knowledge of modernity. In turn, the concretization, for example, of the meaning and understanding of “faith” in the context of the forms of knowledge of the epoch, leads to the processes of differentiation of the ways of knowledge, as one of the stages of transformation of branch knowledge. The study analyzes the conditions that arose during the change in the paradigm of industry knowledge in the XXI century. The paradigm shift has led to a revision of the relationship between explanatory and descriptive models in the humanities. As a result of the study, the contradictions on the way of self-determination of the modern philosophy of religion are summarized, which allowed us to assess the status of this way of seeing problems in modern humanitarianism. Research methodology: the analytical tools of digital religion (meaning: online religion, the theory of mediatization of religious meanings) are combined with the methods of theoretical conceptualization and analysis. Theoretical results: the basic principles for determining the specific research field and problems of the modern philosophy of religion are formulated. Practical significance: in the context of the revision of the meaning of the concept of «people», its decentralization, the ways of representing its capabilities in the practices of self-knowledge and sense-setting are changing. In the modern philosophy of religion, the ways in which problems are formulated make it possible to describe these changes most fully. In the context of a complex differentiation of research areas, a variety of professional specializations, and interdisciplinary methods, the choice of any order becomes very subjective, so it is advisable to talk about the specifics of solving problems in the modern philosophy of religion and the influence of the peculiarities of national worldviews on this process.

<p>From the moment the Soviet ideology lost its dominion, the RussianStatehas been searching for spiritual bases that can unite society, create its moral constants and the feeling of the statehood. The religion has the potential for the solution of such tasks in modern Russia. However, the Russian society is polyconfessional, which complicates the development of unique forms of interaction between the state and the religion. In the current conditions of the religious pluralism, the confessional policy of the Russian state is deprived of a unificult conceptual basis, which makes it difficult to determin its characteristic features and orientation. Thus, it is natural to appeal to the experience that is authentic to the Russian culture of the past, or search for modern foreign models of interaction between religion and the state. In the first case, the ideal model will be that of the state and confessional relations in the Russian Empire, where traditional way of social life was combined with a long period of interaction between different religions. In the second case, it is modern experience of the USA, where the state and confessional relations are under construction of the conditions of complicated religious structure and a democratic constitutional framework. As a result, the choice of the optimum confessional policy model is set by coordinates ranging from imperial policy of building up a hierarchy of religions up to formation of a civil religion model which received theoretical justification in R. Bella’s works.<strong></strong></p>

This article examines the theoretical potential of the gender leadership model of women motivated by the Catholic religion in the context of its ability to socially and politically activate and its effectiveness in terms of assumed goals. Numerous studies on gender indicate a certain effectiveness of gender politics (including gender equality and neutrality) in reducing the deficit of women in politics, but it turns out that in the long term it does not effectively solve the problem of the asymmetry of gender representation in the world of politics. The analysis of the decision-making processes of a selected group of Saints, Blessed and Venerable Servants of God, recognised by the Catholic Church as a model to follow, indicates that women with a strong internal religious motivation were more determined to act and enter the sphere of public activity (including politics) than those motivated only externally. They preferred a relational style of political leadership, but also practiced its goal-oriented form. These leaders mixed strategies, adjusting them to their own capabilities and the needs of their surroundings, making them more effective and efficient in achieving their goals despite the limitations resulting from external systemic conditionalities.

Resumen
Anne Conway (1631–79) produced only one short treatise – The Principles of the Most Ancient and Modern Philosophy – but addressed key problems in the philosophy of religion which are still much discussed today. The most significant of these are the problem of religious diversity and the problem of evil. Although the sources of her ideas may be found in the Kabbalah of Isaac Luria and the work of the Cambridge Platonists and the Quaker George Keith, among others, she offers her own unorthodox solutions to these problems. The idea of Christ as an indwelling mediator of the divine who assists us in our moral endeavours is designed to appeal to those of all religions and none, while her claim that God created creatures knowing that they would eventually be redeemed, and that suffering promotes moral development which leads to redemption offers a novel response to the problem of evil. Conway's work is also important for its influence on the work of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, and some have argued that it prefigures, at least in outline, the field theory of modern physics.

Resumen
AbstractThe Wittgensteinian philosophy of language games in the service of "religion" is circular and closed from criticism, and this generates the illusion that "religion" is compellingly universal. Also some historians, while attempting to uncover the specific and localized origins of the modern category "religion" in early modern Europe, simultaneously and unwittingly reconstruct the assumed universality of the category by uncritically using the problematized word in a description of societies in which the modern category, according to their own research findings, did not yet exist. These techniques suggest an unacknowledged ideological field lying behind the usages of the category. I argue that "religion" is one of a pair, the other half being "non-religion" or "the secular". The formation of the modern notion of religion needs to be seen initially in relation to privatized Protestant piety and the separation of church and state, whereby an apparently demystified human nature and fully rational modern civil society was made possible. But the application of the religion-secular distinction to an increasing number of colonies has resulted in "religion" becoming a catch-all container for indigenous institutions and practices that impede progress (i.e., impede realization of secular rationality by the natives). Debates about the logic of the religion-secular category can only become fruitful when we analyze the way in which they each construct their other half. However, the way "religion" is institutionalized and investigated in the academy elides its function in the invention and legitimation of the modern Euro-American secular, for it is treated as though it stands alone, either as a category in its own right or as a natural reality corresponding to that category.

Resumen
The article studies the reasons for the modern relevance of the religious worldview and analyzes the cur-rent state of and prospects for the transformation of religion under the influence of scientific and techno-logical progress. The research is based on an analysis of works devoted to the study of biological, psycho-logical, mystical, and philosophical foundations of the existence of religion. The authors identified the following fundamental functions of religion in society: ideological, educational, moral, legislatorial func-tions, legitimization/delegitimization of power, development of institutions of power, therapeutic and transcendental functions, personal development. On the basis of modern research, the article shows cur-rent and predicted religions of the future, socio-technological and economic transformations of traditional religions. The paper analyzes the natural causes of the emergence of religion and those human needs that determine its existence. It is argued that one of the fundamental needs fulfilled by religion, both in the past and in the present, is an emotional protection from the fear of death and people’s wish to gain im-mortality (immortality of the soul). This statement is confirmed by modern studies on the use of the reli-gious worldview in medical institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic, which have shown its effective-ness in creating a sense of security and peace in patients. It contributed to the relief of general anxiety in patients and a better recovery from the disease. The article shows that in order to meet the human need for immortality of the soul, the religions of the future (dataism, digitalism) offer the idea of «digital immor-tality»and salvation in «digital reality». It is argued that in the future there will be an active unification of scientific and religious worldviews aimed at satisfying the human needs identified in the study. The paper emphasizes the predictability of the emergence, both in modern society and in the future, of various forms of quasi-religions or religion-like activities.

Problems of modern religiosity, its origin, causes and real level in Ukrainian society; religious self-identification, which in sociological surveys and polls of different levels was usually identified with the true level of religiosity in society; problems of validity and authenticity of religious self-determination of a person and other related problems were started to be considered by scientists (religious scholars, sociologists, cultural scientists) from the late 80's - early 90's of the XX century. mostly as a response to the increasing trend of religiosity in Ukraine. Already in the first half of the 90-ies there are works in which attempts were made to understand the phenomenon of modern religiosity in Ukrainian society, to identify the reasons for the steadily increasing religiosity, at least in general terms to characterize its peculiarities. Notwithstanding the huge number of extra-scientific, emotionally-complementary, poorly substantiated methodologically and factually, confessionally biased publications of this period, it should be noted that the scientific progress in the study of modern religiosity was related to the studies of the Institute of Religion NAS of Ukraine, other centers that have directly or indirectly studied the functioning of religion and the church in modern society.

Resumen
Hume's Natural History of Religion is generally regarded as a reductionist project, in which religion is traced to its universal natural roots in the passions and imagination. This interpretation neglects: (1) Hume's view that humankind is social by nature, which implies that any naturalist explanation of religion cannot appeal to facts about individual minds alone, and (2) Hume's interest in religion as it concerns religion's effects on morality and society, effects that occur within socio-historical contexts. Religion is generated out of universal propensities, in response to the particular needs and values of communities. Both these aspects are relevant for religious policy. Hume's naturalist approach helps explain problems that attend religion, but questions about how to address these problems as they arise in particular cultures can be answered only in context. The salutary effects of toleration, for example, are not guaranteed at all times and places. The Natural History nevertheless urges the reader towards a tolerant mindset by exposing religion's universality as well as its diversity, and the moral importance of acknowledging both.

Resumen
The two categories of political religion and civil (also civic) religion, and the ways a nation can nurture the latter, have been the concern of a number of philosophers since long time ago. Relevant to this is the ideals of democracy, the separation of religion and politics and the necessity of having a secular legal covenant, which represents the political philosophy of a modern republic. Theorists of civil religion, particularly Jean-Jacques Rousseau, were concerned with the role of established religions, in modern political systems and that is why they put forward different, and at times even contrasting, theories about the compatibility of Christianity as well as the objectives of modern politics, at the center of which is the ideal of citizenship. The present paper will focus on the post-revolutionary constitution as well as the legal status of republicanism to investigate the possibilities, if any, of finding a solution to the long-lasting problematic of Islam and democracy in Iran. My hypothesis is that the current constitution is incapable of allowing for democracy, and due to its monistic nature, hinders reconciliation between Islam and democracy. Iran needs a better legal covenant, one in which the legacy of republicanism, as well as religious pluralism, is respected and endorsed.

The article deals with the problems of religious and cultural self-determination of the Yazidis. Currently, a large number of representatives of this people live on the territory of modern Russia. Their distinctive feature at this stage is the desire to revive their culture, restore lost knowledge. This fact updates the issues of this work. The present article attempts to analyse the complex issues of ethnicity of this people, their attitude towards other peoples, issues in identification of the language, time and place of religion emergence. The problems of preserving and recording sacred texts («Kavla» «Jilve» («Shine» or «Book of Revelations»), «Mashafe Rush» («Black Book»), their content, which determines the essence of the religious teachings of the Yazidis are difficult. Being a complex, syncretic spiritual phenomenon, Yazidism asked and keeps asking both researchers and its carriers many problems. Their significant number is associated with the antiquity of religion, the closed nature of its teachings, but most importantly with the long-standing oral tradition of transmitting religious and cultural heritage, the guardians and bearers of which were not all Yazidis, but the Yazidi clergy – pirs and sheikhs. Works are the cornerstone materials of recently published sacred texts of Yazidi and also the articles and monographs devoted to questions of the yazidism and belonging to such famous researchers – to Yazidi as H. Omarkhali, D. Pirbari, K. Amoev, T. Avdoev, A. Avdal and also to some spiritual heads of Yazidi, such as pir A. A. Daleyan, D. R. Polatov and others. This makes it possible to consider a whole range of controversial problems from the inside, through the eyes of the Yazidis, compare their points of approach to solving the most controversial problems of Yazidism.

Resumen
This article traces the recent development of gender equality law, understood broadly to embrace sex, transsexual and sexual orientation discrimination. Against this background it considers the ‘problem’ of religion from two perspectives. First, religion is seen as representing a problematic obstacle to the pursuit of a modern gender equality programme, and this results in judicial tendencies to criticise religion and constrain its significance. Second, religions and religious bodies themselves have difficulties with the new ethic underlying recent legal changes. The tension between religious ethics and the new law has resulted in a series of exceptions for religious bodies. However, these are rather narrow, and can be viewed as the minimum necessary to satisfy international and European human rights standards. The article then considers the enigma of equality and the question-begging nature of much of the law made in its name. It concludes that modern problems are better seen not as a clash between religious liberty and gender equality, but as a shift in conceptions of equality. At the same time, this shift has been accompanied by a significant juridification of what for a long time have been social spaces virtually immune from secular legal regulation. Ironically, a new establishment is being created which barely tolerates dissenters.

Modern Ukrainian society has a number of unresolved problems that can impede its further cultural and spiritual progress. You can find out about this from scientific or religious literature as well as from the media. In particular, these problems are connected with the present state of spirituality of our people, with the lack of a solid foundation in our worldview for building a worthy future and awareness of the proper moral and ethical norms of social co-existence. “In Ukraine, as O. Sagan rightly points out, there is a need for a kind of moral growth of the society ... The general moral condition of post-Soviet Ukrainian society remains complicated, and nowadays, negative tendencies are exacerbated. As long as the latter progress, the people may be subject to manipulation by both political and religious figures. ”

Over the centuries, religion has commonly been the answer encoded by the social setting when it came to matters of life and death. The present article analyzes the historical grounds for forms of cooperation between the scientific disciplines that focus on mental health and the approach of religion, centered on the Italian situation. Such cooperation was hard to imagine in the past, but the situation has changed considerably and cooperation is not only possible but extremely desirable. Acknowledgment of their spiritual needs helps patients to battle with their disease. The care of patients should include catering for their spiritual needs by ensuring the constant presence of a chaplain on hospital wards.

Resumen
The article examines the peculiarities of the functioning of Orthodoxy in modern society, in particular in the conditions of the Ukrainian- Russian war. The main focus is on the problems of socio-cultural changes occurring during the hostilities and the place and role of Orthodoxy in these changes. The problems that have arisen in the middle of the modern socio-cultural world environment and the approaches proposed for their solution give the right to assert that religion in general, Orthodoxy in particular, can retain its function in the future to ensure basic universal moral values. Regarding the Ukrainian society, we can talk about the ethical and moral content identical to the world environment. World Orthodoxy takes religious morality as the basis of universal morality, and defines it as a system of norms and rules that limits a person's physical demands and directs him to spiritual pursuits. In Ukraine, the dominant religion is Orthodoxy, and ideally we would like this Orthodoxy to be exclusively Ukrainian, and not any other. Modern Ukrainian reality shows everyone that Orthodoxy as such preserves its moral and ethical essence, as an indestructible basis of its existence. Analyzing the place of religion in general, Orthodoxy in particular, in the socio- cultural processes of modern Ukraine, it is worth noting that religion as such is quite often used by the political sphere to motivate its ideological basis, as well as to influence mass consciousness. In our opinion, one of the important factors in the formation of Ukrainian society and Orthodoxy is the functioning and development of the new and old direction of Orthodox service – the modern chaplaincy. For a more detailed analysis of this problem, it is worth turning to the history of the origin and development of chaplaincy in Ukraine and in the world. There is no exact historical information about when exactly the first chaplains-spirits appeared in the Ukrainian army, but we know that Christians were already present in the army of the princes of Kievan Rus.

Resumen
The problems of time and history are of particular relevance at the turning points in the development of human society, which can be considered to be the beginning of the 21st century. At the same time, in a changing world, it is important to take into account the ideas about time and history that have arisen in various cultural and civilizational areas. The article analyzes the attempt of a Japanese philosopher Nishitani Keiji belonging to the Kyoto school to formulate a modern concept of history based on the Buddhist view of the world and time. Unlike other religious and philosophical traditions, Buddhist thought practically did not touch upon topics related to history. Using Nishitani's philosophy as an example, the author tries to demonstrate the specifics of the modern Buddhist approach to understanding time and history and to determine its heuristic potential. Due to the fact that today the narrative view of history prevails, introducing a value component into the understanding of history, which turns history into a field of ideological struggle, an analysis of alternative approaches to history that have arisen, including those in non-Western thought, and reflecting its complexity and non-linearity, seems worthy attention. The ontologized model of history proposed by Nishitani poses new problems and thereby opens up new perspectives for considering time and history, such as the relationship of time, history and causality, history and space, definitions of the subject of history and the role of will in history, view of history as a dynamic network with many centers and horizons, understanding the relationship of past, present and future in history.

Religion as a social and spiritual phenomenon in its functional manifestation responds to various human needs, while satisfying, above all, those spiritual needs that can not satisfy any other social phenomenon. A closer look at the 1st – 5th centuries demonstrates a crucial period of African influence on early Christian formation. The impact is seen across the emerging faith, from theological contributions to ecclesiastical leadership. The paper provides historical evidence of Africa's contact with Christianity, spanning from the days of Jesus through the Apostles' era to the patristic and modern eras. It, therefore, appraises the backgrounds and contributions of some major African Church Fathers and Mothers from the 2nd – 5th centuries. It further explores the place of African Christianity today particularly because the Edinburgh conference of 1900 predicted that Christianity would be extinct in Africa but today, Africa has become a major Christian center as part of the global south. The paper affirms that African Christianity has a lot to offer to global Christian expression and must therefore be allowed to interact with the culture in meeting the needs of its adherents.

Resumen
The article examines the problem of the need for a new interpretation of the concept of «freedom of religion» in modern legal and socio-political discourses. It is noted that every state, in the process of its development, in one way or another necessarily embodies universal, existential values in its legislation, enshrined not only in ancient sources that regulate relations between people, citizens and the state, but also in international acts. It was emphasized that after the restoration of Ukraine’s independence, laws on freedom of religion as a subjective legal right and religious organizations as a tool and system for meeting religious needs took an important place. It is noted that at the constitutional level, the right of every citizen to freedom of choice of worldview and religion is enshrined, which is more widely disclosed in the special law on freedom of conscience and religious organizations. A list of the main international treaties ratified by Ukraine, which deal with freedom of worldview and religion, as well as current laws of Ukraine, is given. Conclusions were made that: 1) in Ukraine, in order to ensure human rights to freedom of religion, a modern legal framework has been created, which is based on basic principles, which include, among others: a) the principle of equality of citizens regardless of their attitude to religion; b) the principle according to which no religion can be recognized by the state as obligatory; c) the principle of equality of all religions, denominations and religious organizations before the law; d) the principle of separation of the church and religious communities from the state; 2) the current legislation on freedom of religion and religious organizations needs clarification and improvement (in particular, in terms of strengthening state control over the activities of religious organizations). The possibility of using such definitions as «traditional religion» (religion), «non-traditional religion», «known religion», «unknown religion» etc. is indicated in the legislation of foreign countries. It was emphasized that Ukraine generally adheres to generally accepted international and European legislation in the field of ensuring freedom of conscience, religion and activities of religious organizations. In this sense, national legislation corresponds to European norms and is integrated into the global legal space. Key words: religion, freedom of religion, principles, freedom of conscience, principles of equality, worldview, religious organizations, church, traditional religion, non-traditional religion, state religion, totalitarian cults, extremism.

Resumen
Our picture of English expansion in the early modern period is being transformed. Earlier in this century the story of overseas enterprise was an imperial story; the historian stood in London, and institutional development dominated the story. Charles M. Andrews led this approach in America, and A.P. Newton was leader of the English school. These historians studied communication between the metropolis and the tiny developing centers in America. The hinterland was important as it contributed tonnage and value. As the colonies developed, the backcountry sometimes entered die story as its setders challenged the now-established governments in the east. Culture, especially religion, was studied as it influenced the peculiar colonial development of key institutions in government and society. And the history of the British colonies was the history of early America.

Resumen
The relevance of the article lies in the need to analyze and evaluate the role of religion in post-postmodern society. The problems of the global technogenic society require not only scientific solutions, but also their moral assessment. The strengthening of the role of religion and its relevance in society is due to its ethical content and focus on the spiritual life of a person. The purpose of this article is to examine the features of understanding religion in the philosophy of postmodernism, in order to understand the processes in the sphere of religion at the beginning of the XXI century. Representatives of European postmodernism carried out a reflection of the postmodern era, including the state of religion. The scientific novelty of the research consists in considering two aspects of postmodernism’s view of religion. First, philosophers foresaw the wide spread of non-confessional religion, the coexistence of various religious forms. The transformation of the forms, status and role of religion in postmodernism was explained by the pluralism of postmodern society (the complexity of modern societies, processes, different worldviews, beliefs). The essence of religion is not connected with traditional religious dogmas, but with the possibility of spiritual transformation of a person. Religious experience can be translated through art (J. Deleuze), self-awareness (M. Foucault). Second, postmodern philosophers reveal the socio-political role of religion. Traditional religious teachings are considered as constructions of the human mind created by the power structures of society. individuals are Managed in society through religious discourse (M. Foucault). The main function of religion is to compel people, so we should be freed from the authoritarian power of traditional religion. In modern society religion continues to be the most important element. As a result of the development of the features of postmodern society, the «pluralization of the religious situation» occurs and the tendency to politicize it increases. Non-traditional religious movements and various forms of religion are widely spread. Reflections on the religion of representatives of postmodernism remain relevant, since they allow us to focus on the spiritual component of religion, to understand the status and position of religion in modern society.

The urgency of the problems of institutionalization processes in modern religions in the theoretical and practical aspects of its measurement was and remains very topical today. This problem is firmly established both in the historical context and in contemporary religious-religious discourse, both in the international and in the domestic one. It is with the intensive development of the institutionalizing approach to sociological and philosophical understanding of the phenomenon of religion as a social institution, its functional and activity expression in modern society, and the activity of domestic and international religious-religious communities in the study of the forms of institutionalizing dynamics of different denominations and churches, their causal basis and purpose .

AbstractIn times of antidemocratic resentment and rising societal diversity, harmony and unity become questionable as the normative foundation for modern approaches to education. This article makes plausible the assertion that educational thought needs to change one of its basic theoretical assump- tions: the overall perception of conflicts. In a first step, the article introduces the concept of the “School Republic”, summarizing the ideas of Hermann Lietz and then its advancements by Minna Specht. In a second step, the article ties this specific pedagogical arrangement to recent political theory and one well-known concept of human rights education. Finally, the article discusses the scope of the approach which is sketched out here and identifies links to recent discussions in democraticcy education.
